do i need to write super cid to install a custom rom?

so im completely new to this phone, I'm coming from a vibrant, i just now perm rooted my phone, and I'm ready to flash a rom via clockwork, but i was wondering if i need to write super cid? i wan a install android revolution hd.

nope, superCID is only for installing RUU's from different regions
although i do recommend it, it isnt necessary for flashing custom roms

thx im not sure what to get, i just downloaded the newest version of android revolution, what do u think of that one?

i tried it when it first came out, its was very close to stock, but its apparently the most popular rom for the sensation.
InsertCoin is jsut hella fast, lots of free memory, especially when flashed with faux kernel 0.1.2
im kinda biased towards IC, but try both for 30min-1hr and see which you like.
also, to save lots of headaches, make a nand backup! but it sounds like you have a grip on the situation, so have fun!

yep, stock sense 3.0, but might i recommend the theme "thyparency 2.0" flashable theme, looks very slick and proper, its included in the thread for insertcoin (2nd or 3rd post)

thx man, ima test drive revolution for a day tomorrow at work, and I'm install insert coin after work, I'm exited, sensation has so much more support than the vibrant lol

thats a good plan, plenty of time to test
just make sure after you flash, let the rom settle for 10 min and reboot before doing anything, saves you lots of possible headaches in the future

I'm afraid that I'm biased and vote for VoidU! Why isn't that included? (I know I know "official") but, it's still sense 3.0 and certainly the slickest, most configurable, bug free ROM that I've come across and certainly remaining my daily driver, until I'm convinced otherwise! (you have to hand it to the RC Mix3d team - with VoidU they have a finished product whereas most of the above ROMS are in the first days, so can only improve - so the future is bright!).
So I'm very keen to watch the results of this poll and also glad to see a sudden influx of recent Sense v3.0 ROM competition.
I even heard a rumour than a new LBC ROM Sense v3.0 ROM may be making an appearance in the future (please don't ask him for ETA's though!).

yer..I know through my own personally frustrating head scratching experience that adding a poll to a first post isn't possible once you've created it (we'll unless you're a moderator) so it might be the same for amending an existing one! Never mind!

This morning i performed a full wipe and flashed this ROM:
PreRooted_Saga_S_HTC_Europe_2.10.401.4_deodexed-signed
Completely untouched Official Sense 3 Android 2.3.5
I removed ALL the bloatware + htcloggers.apk and tellhtc.apk with Titanium Backup
Then did my nand...
So far, excellent battery life, excellent performance and not a single bug found!

Hi i want to go to this rom. i am currently running lbc 0.6.0 with unity v4 kernal. can i just flash this rom as usual or do i need to do some other stuff first. I've already bricked one ds and had htc replace it as they couldn't fix it so a bit nervous about what i can and can't do. Any help would be appreciated.

VoidU is based on a DHD Leak, so it's pretty official. It's the best IMO.
Remove Pyramid3D, as it's not official. It's based on Sensation.

Tried quite a few different ones but I always come back to VR - Virtuous Unity v2.39.0 just works.
Would love to patch in Beats Audio!

yep, just wipe system data cache and dalvik cache and flash via recovery.

there is a patch for beats audio in rom manager, not sure if it works though as i havn't tried yet..

its pretty straight forward, just go into titanium and delete all the stuff u dont want, and u will see htc loggers in there too, just uninstall it.

[Q] stability of custom ROMs

is it me or something I'm doing?
I find all the ROMs become quite unstable after a week or so.
Even the most popular of them.
I do a full wipe from 4EXT each time and wipe cache and davlik each time as well.
I also repair permissions.
But long term stability eludes me.
Should I format my SD for any reason to improve stability?
If so, I assume I would do that from 4EXT as well?
I've been trying ROMs for about 6 months now.

Try jelly bean Rom they are very stable or mikes ARHD they are close to stock roms
Sense 4 roms might get a bit laggy after few days
Install sultans kernel

JB doesn't support WiFi calling. Very Necessary for me.
I tried ARHD, it was stable, but still had too much junk in it for my taste.
Just need phone, wifi calling, sms and streamlined quick settings.
ARHD failed the latter no matter how I tried to config.
But thanks.

Install ARHD and use ROM CLEANER to clean all the unwanted apps

Transparent app drawer/tray?

Hi, I have spent almost three days browsing trough the Sensation forum hoping to find an answer to my question, and I couldnt find a sufficient one so I decided to register and make a thread, Im really sorry if I somehow overlooked the answer, and if this thread is in the wrong place. First of all, thanks for all the people making guides for rooting as I have just rooted my Sensation Xe two days ago
Im currently running Android version 4.0.3, Android Revolution HD 7.3 XE, kernel SebastianFM and all I "want" is a transparent app drawer/tray (or at least a custom background, I hate the plain black one) and also, if possible, transparent background in the settings, notification bar and other menus while retaining the original (stock) look on everything else, by which I mean not using any custom launchers (nova, apex, etc). I tried flashing some of the Rosie modes and with some of them I got just a little bit of transparency, while with others it just crashed. Once again, sorry if this has already been answered, or there is a similar thread, but I really couldnt find one. Thank you very much for the answers

I would suggest you give this ROM a try it is fully customizer-able to how you want it to look and feel much easier than modding the files yourself you need special software to edit the files and also need to be quite knowledgeable in Photoshop ect...

First, Wrong Thread my friend, you should ask this in QA section.
Ok, Now your Solution is ---> Darksense Tweaks...It offers Transparent App drawer only with fix Transparency rate..it doesn't offer you custom background, though it looks nice on it.
Please do a Backup of ROM before flashing any MODs/Tweaks.

Dude, LeeDroid tweaks has that tweak.
Download here
Flash it like you flash a rom, under HTC Sense tab you can change App Drawer transparency, colours and use a background image if you want, isn't it exactly what you want? That way you can keep AHRD

You're welcome There's no need in changing the rom because of that, ARHD is a pretty good rom (closest to stock in that matter), enjoy the experience

I just flashed the LeeDroid tweeks, and when I boot in the phone Im constantly getting a pop up saying "Unfortunately, HTC sense has stopped" Do you have any clue on what could be wrong? Oh and I forgot to mention, has my device being S-On anything to do with it? I downloaded the Leedroid Tweaks Sensation v4.3

Try to clear the data from HTC Sense Input (settings - apps - all apps), also, what recovery are you using?
Either way, I don't think the S-ON has anything to do with it, that's more related to kernels and stuff.
That's unexpected because in the thread where addons are listed, Leedroid's there, although for 6.8.x versions, but I remember using it on the 7 series and worked fine.
You can try however (if the problem persists after clearing HTC Sense Input data), to reinstall the rom without wiping (you would still have all your apps and config, and tweaks would still be there).

Im using 4EXT recovery. I just flashed the Darkforest Tweaks, and they work fine so I will stick with them for a while before I try do the things you suggested. Thanks again.

My Sensation is S-Off i do the Wire trick and i have the i think latest 4ExtRecovery
I tried Viper 5.3.0 but it has to much i didnt need. I like Sense 5 but not so much Tweaks and else. I use only my Handy for Listenting Music with Poweramp and Viper 4 Android, Gaming with the DS Emulator Drastic and Whatzapp and Co
So i tried CM12 but after i installed my normaly App my Storage was full, and the Handy is now soooo slow.
What did i wrong or can someone give me au Suggestion for a Rom.

whe you are changing roms it is necessary to make a full wipe from recovery first

I know that from my HTC One X, thats the Reason why i always format all Storages and delete all

If you like a more cleaner custom sense rom with a good performance, then go for Revelation.

Where's the problem with having a rom which has tweaks? As far as I know ViperS 5.x is close to stock without own changes. And if you don't need the tweaks, just don't use them. They won't make your device slower or something.
