[Q] How to use usb tethring to access internet on our pc throught mobile..?

hey friends.. i have another problem ..
yesterday my internet connection was not working so i tried to connect my sgr's internet to my pc but every time i tried to do so it produced error 633 saying that the modem is currently in use.....i used usb tethring ...
anyone know how to solve this problem...?

Hav u installed samsung usb driver or kies in ur pc ?

Then u shuld try to reset your settings.....or close all apps while tethering via task killer....

finally got it working....
Hey guys .. i worked it out today..
installed pdanet on my device and on my pc then just switched on the usb tethring option &clicked on the pdanet tray icon on my pc and connected to internet without any problem....
still thanks fr helping out... cheersssss.......

Good to hear that pdanet solved your problems. For general information, in Ubuntu USB tethering works without any third party app. Just make sure that USB debugging is switched off
(Settings->Applications->Development->USB debugging), connect with USB cable and open Network Manager in the computer.

[Q] having issues with kies

My windows crashed so I had to format my PC. Now when I try to install kies, it says you need xp service pack 3 also my phone doesn't get recognized as a USB device so I'm unable to transfer stuff. How do I get my PC to recognize my phone?

Kies wont install on win xp sp2
I have two machine...1 with xp n the other as win7.even m nt able to install win xp
Try installing vista or win7.it will definately nt wrk with xp sp 2

Remember to turn on USB Debugging on your Phone. So the next time you connect you can choose the option to mount it as Disk Storage

Hmmm. When you connect USB what does it says on Phone? USB connected or MTP connected?
Did you installed the mentioned drivers?
After connecting phone check in Windows device manager if there is any 'Unknown Device' - connected.

Yeah the phone also charges and shows USB mode. And I installed the drivers also that you mentioned :/ couldn't find the unknown device either

Finally!!
okay all i did is tricked my system into thinking that i am using sp 3...there is a small tweak you have to run in regedit. i guess the problem is with sp2. now it is recognizing and kies is installing as well.

PC can't see phone CyanogenMod 7.2 on LG

I installed CyanogenMod 7.2 and my PC and it doesn't see phone I mean when I plug phone to PC it charge but nothing appears and I can't copy antything to phone... when I plug I think pc recognizes phone because I can hear sound of pluged device but anything more, there is any folder of phone...
Sorry for my english and really please for help...

Have you activated Debug mode from Applications' settings?And also look if your phone is set to USB Storage Mode and not PC Sync.Also from notification drawer you must click where it says click here for activating usb storage mode to transfer files...or something like that. Sorry for my bad english

Just wipe data und install again.

Need Stock Rom

I want to flash stock rom 2.2.1 indian firmware back on my samsung galaxy fit as it is unable to connect to my computer and laptop...my mobile charges but no usb data connection(comp shows a message usb device not recognized) .....result of my little experiment( i suppose.. it is)....Since i am unable to connect ..how can i use odin???( used before when all was well)....
in xda forums i read about converting .tar file(of stock rom) in cwm flashable zip is possible through Android Kitchen,,,,but i dont want to take any risk by creating anything as i haven't created anything before....
PLEASE I AM ASKING FOR HELP ANY DEV/MEMBER WILLING TO guide or making a flashable zip...
I read threads on adb ,, terminal emulator ,,converting of .tar into .zip files,,, and i dont want to take any type of risk AND BY FLASHING STOCK ROM I WILL ABLE TO TAKE TO SAMSUNG SERVICE CENTER TO FIX USB DATA CONNECTION PROBLEM (they will charge me more if they see jellybean in galaxy fit for flashing stock rom)....

I used odin to flash 2.3.6 firmware in download mode and it installed successfully, i wanted my mobile to connect to external storage device(i.e. pen drive) so i made a cable myself and also attache charger power source to that cable(hoping it would work.e. mount & read pendrive) ..After that my mobile wouldn't cnnect to my comp or laptop via usb data cable....it would charge but a usb data connection was not possible .. And finally after trying various methods i think it now is a hardware malfunction(becoz of me) and it should be given to a service center..
Rest all is working fine i can flash diff roms , camera ,wifi all working now using pacman rom so i thought service center would charge me more if i gave my mobile as it is.. they could easily charge more for seeing other rom installed So i wanted stock rom flashable by CWM..
So anyone's help is appreciated.. thanks...

what I understand from your posts is that your phone is perfectly fine but there is a problem with your pc and data cable.
Check with some other data cable,and re-install the samsung drivers for "device not recognized" error.
Use other usb port to check whether its a problem in your pc.

with samsung data cable i hv nokia and micromax data cable as well.. tested wiyh my friend's laptop.. didn't detect but charging was on...then removed samsung drivers,cleaned registry on windows 7,reboot then installed samsung usb driver 1.4.8..Then tries to connect , same problem(charging but no detection)... Opened settings-->Storage--->clicked menu---->USB computer connection click-->(three options MTP,PTP,Mass Storage) as soon as i click mass storage it force closes displaying message "unfortunately,settings has stopped."
What to do now??..

i never saw any such option on any rom yet!
whenever you connect with usb to a PC you get USB connected notification..click on it and enable mass storage.
never saw MTP & PTP in usb connections.
Which rom are you using?
If its 4.+ then try this

In Device Manager in Universal Serial Bus Controllers i uninstalled everything from ASMedia XHCi controllers to USB Root hub... all of them, then clicked scan for hardware changes then i connected my device to computer, then clicked the app USB mass storage for ics and JB ....on computer the elements(USb Root hub, etc.) reinstalled and there it detected my device as unknown device,,,,then for 5-10 sec a message flashed
something like this ,,...". I.I.I.I.I.I.I.I.I Ata mass storage " then it stopped showing not installed...
Using Pacman rom ..does have mtp,ptp,mass storage options..( when i tick any one of the three options it force closes)...
I googled over net on connectivity issue and will need sum time to format c drive and then try again...:fingers-crossed:

I wonder once in odin multi downloader i ticked the debug option only then i clicked delete driver option which may have caused the problem.......

Finally problem solved...replacing charging IC ( as the repairman said) solved comp connection problem then flashed stock rom....

but the problem was that it does not support arabic
so i need room like 2.3.4 or 2.3.6 provided that supporting arabic reading and writing
and if there is no room like that i need the way to reback the phone to 2.2.1 which
was supportting arabic

U can download stock ROMs from sammobile.com there go to firmware section and search gt-s5670.then download Odin and pit files here:

and i put it downloading mode coonect it to computer nothing happen on odin
and usb settings on the mobile not available on it grey color
i use android 2.3.1 and windows 7

your usb drivers are not installed or are corupt
solution :
press start >search
enter device manager
(phone should be connected)
you should get under port/unkown device
unkown device or mass storage device or something similar
press the one you want unknown device.
choose driver in the new window(its at the top next to general) and choose update drivers
now you get two options use the internet or search in the computer(use the internet)
after that the device manager will install the drivers and reboot the computer and you should be good to go.
if via computer choose browse and navigate to the kies folder usually under samsung in programs and files folder inside search for drivers and tick search sub folders.
that should do the trick else a better bet would be
uninstall kies and sasmung usb drivers connect to the internet then conect device.

this has all the lateest roms and u can open the rom page to see if it support arabic language
