[UTILITY]Preview current bootanimarion without rebooting! - Android General

Hi everyone!
Whenever we install a new boot animation we always reboot to see how is it?, is it working? Etc..
What if we can see exact same thing without rebooting!
Here is the way...
Rooted android is Required!
First install a boot animation
Just in case:
1. Rename it to bootanimation.zip
2. Put in system/media & replace previous one
Now preview:
open terminal emulator & type:
Code:
su
bootanimation
& you will see a full screen bootanimation:cyclops:
Press back button 2 times to exit preview
Works on almost every phone. Feedback is welcome!:highfive:
Destroy thanks button if it was useful for you

Issues:
-After changing framework-res the phone will crash first time just reboot or wait for second boot
-Boot will take longer with a2sd enabled
-If an app force gets closed after backup remove data and try to open the app again. Now try restoring backup again
-When an app force closes will vibrate three times. It's a minor bug if an app force closes it's an app fault
Scroll down second post for Flash instructions... & various tutorials
Tips:
- If you want a faster phone don't use link2sd or data2sd and leave all apps on internal memory
- For a faster boot use stock version (Available in hours)
- If you don't want to reboot use Fast Reboot regularly
- Don't leave too much app active and terminate useless apps
- Clean Level 2 RAM regularly

No i didn't! And i know that CWM won't hard brick the phone but for now i don't want do add CWM recovery. Maybe in 2.0 or 2.1...

ok, thats cool
Are you sure that just flashing over will delete our data? I had a softbrick the other day and just flashed XWJPF without any loss. Just had to root and enable some modes I had.
I put a datafs.rfs in One Package file to auto-wipe and avoid problems but if you flashed succesfully under JPM i can try to create a no wipe version.

its a file which contains the remount code
Code:
mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/stl6 /system
and is placed in /system/bin/ ; chmodded 755 that you can run it
if you have named the file "remount" then you only have to enter "remount" in the terminal emulator or via adb shell... if you have named the file "a" you have to enter "a" and so on..

[RECOVERY] ClockworkMod TOUCH 5.5.0.4 v4.3 - (7/9/12)

This is gweedo767's touch recovery ported to the skyrocket/hercules. Because many people have been asking me what the difference between this one and the version that koush put out here is the difference:
This one is open source.
This one has swipe gestures (up,down, left, right)
This one has different UI settings
This one has soft keys on the bottom of the screen
This one has 2 different options of font
Here is a youtube video I made of how it works: ------> VIDEO
4 ways to use recovery:
volume rockers
soft keys on bottom of screen
capacitive buttons
swipe gestures (up/down = scroll && left = back && right = select)

Sweet. Flashing now
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
so i created a recovery.tar.md5 to flash through odin. I flashed it and it automatically booted back into android. Once i rebooted into recovery everything worked in there but when i tried to reboot it would only reboot back into recovery. i did a battery pull and waited a few minutes but it only booted into clockworkmod. I had to flash the original clockworkmod 5.5.0.2 i had before to be able to boot back into android. anyone have any ideas on why it gets stuck in a clockworkmod boot loop?
this is only for the recovery.tar.md5...not for the cwmrt5504.zip. just wanted to clarify that. the .zip file is completely safe and will not alter any files on your device when you flash it.
How's the cwm working
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
the zip file seems to work fine. restored a red sonja backup, then flashed another to try it out more. all went well.
so to everyone who has tried it out:
how do you feel about the sensitivity on the swipe gestures? up/down sensitivity? left/right sensitivity? does the sensitivity need to be lowered or raised or stay the same?
thanks
so will this be an actual new recovery or an overlay of type for our current cwm
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
im going to create a recovery.tar.md5 that is flashable via Odin and will be a whole new recovery. but the one i have now gets stuck in a boot loop that only boots into recovery.
Problem with Scrolling...
For me obviously noticed the colours as well noticed that when I pushed Volume increase menu scrolled down and when I pushed Volume Decrease menu scrolled up. Anyone else get that issue... overall what is the difference between this and the other clockworkmod recovery... basically what is the benefit to flashing this over flashing the one that comes with ROM Manager....
Weird when I restarted my phone and went back into recovery it went back to CWM 5.0.2.7 is that what it's supposed to do?
i hadnt checked the volume rocker mappings yet. ill fix that. i just havent used anything but the swipe gestures.
the difference between this and the original one is that you do not need to touch any buttons. you swipe your finger up and down to scroll and swipe left to go back and swipe right to select. and there are the soft buttons on the bottom of the screen. basically there are 4 ways to move around and select and go back.
1.) volume rockers
2.) swipe gestures
3.) soft keys
4.) capacitive buttons
and i explained in the OP that it was a fakeflash. which means that it does not install it on your phone. thats the reason why you booted back into your original clockworkmod. i have an installable version but it is not ready yet. i do not want to release it yet because it could mess up your device.
My Bad... I missed the fake flash... that's why you should read the entire comment I guess LOL... Anyways awesome thanks for the quick reply.
no problem. ive done that before. usually its when i get really excited about a new rom and i download it without reading the whole post and then something doesnt work with it and i get frustrated and realize they have a patch in the OP or something. haha
anyways, once i get the boot loop problem fixed i will make a recovery.tar.md5 that you can just flash in Odin and itll be an entirely new recovery installed
i updated the file on my box.com account with the correct volume rocker key mappings.
So this is the same CWM just a touch screen version... aren't we using a version of CWM that is made for the regular galaxy s2? Isn't that why there are tons of problems with FC's because this CWM does not delete everything it is suppose to and we end up having to install the stock recovery to do a factory reset?
well this is the latest clockworkmod 5.5.0.4. the only other CWM i can find is 5.0.2.7. so its updated. not sure what the changelog is on that though. And this isnt a version that was made for the gs2. it was originally made for the galaxy nexus. Im pretty sure its the same source code as the code from the cm9 repo. Im not 100% sure on that though. ill have to ask gweedo.
and ive been using this recovery for about a week and have backed up/restored/flashed new roms/reset to factory/erase cache/dalvik all a few times and havent had any issues with it not deleting everything.
I have to ask, have you figured out what's up with the colors? They could hurt your eyes if you looked at it too long. xD
Also note, which is something that's also been an issue with the current CWM, Fix Permissions doesn't do a thing. Press it and it instantly tells you it's done. Should at least take a minute to get everything done. Just wanted to mention that this problem still exists. Definitely not at all any kind of dealbreakef, but I just don't get why any ports have worked for our devices.

Not in every way but yea.
Just install this version and can't get Wifi on! It's a fix for this?
Edit: Updating baseband and Wifi Fix do the trick.
Can you post the modem/bootloader here so people can download the files? That would be great.
do you guys notice that 60fps in youtube is only 60fps by holding your finger in the screen and then 30fps when untouching? Or is it just me? Either way youtube is actually rendering a stable 60fps on the gs4! Only way this was possible was whe performance mode was turned on in cm12.1 now its doing it on touchwiz at default, thats big news, at we need to do is find the bug or whatever is causing the unstable 60fps when information dissapears i youtube or pressing the screen to get 60fps
(Edit2) happy day guys a happy thanks giving which i always wanted on this phone 1 of the main reasons why i choose aosp over tw, i can now play 60fps videos on YouTube with real 60fps and not stuttery 60fps before hok1!)) so i notice that youtube was not 60fps when choosing 60fps quality so i go to setting and enable nuplayer and reboot and its flawless :,) aosp please implement this to ur roms! Omg happy day! Bye guys
(Edit3) its stuttering again, -_- any 1 have a permanent fix? Would appreciate

There are possibly two libdivxdrm.so files in /system/lib/ one is about 180kb and the other around 200kb, rename or delete the 180kb one and keep the other in all lowercase name, that may help fix stuttering.

180kb i renamed, i didnt fully understand the all lowercase? 200kb? I seen the libdiv 200kb with all lowercase already, the videos run without any stutter 60fps, but after multytasking apps the videos start to stutter again, i tried clearing memory but no go, theres gotta be a fix.

[FLASHABLE] [MOD] Dark Pixel boot animation & logo for Moto E2 2015

!!!DISCLAIMER!!!
I am not responsible for any damage done to your device. YOU chose to apply this modification to your device. I did NOT force you to! And I did NOT encourage you to do so either. If you blame me because these modifications soft-bricked, hard-bricked, or blew up your device*, I will laugh at you!!!
Spoiler: *more stuff that can happen and I am not responsible for
You blowing up your home/city/country.
You getting fired because this modification broke your alarm clock app and you overslept.
All your data getting wiped because of an error.
Your current bootanimation that you spent so much time making getting overwritten.
Your phone turning into a USB killer (impossible but just in case)
Hello! I made a dark Pixel 4 boot animation and boot logo for Moto E2 2015 (surnia & condor). The boot animation will also work on other devices with 540x960 resolution as well. The boot logo will however not work with other brands as Motorola boot logos are written in a different format. Installation instructions at the bottom of this post.
I do not know how to make the boot logo flashable yet. I would very much appreciate it if anyone who knows how could tell me.
Files can be found below you can download from the attachments.
Flashable Boot animation (if the bootanimation didn't show after flashing zip, keep scrolling down):
Direct link (Use this one)
Boot logo (Plz extract the .zip file):
Direct link (Use this one)
Please thank if you liked it!!! :good:
Note:
If the bootanimation didn't show after flash, download from here instead because flashing will not work. See installation steps below.
Direct link (Use this one)
Use the following to install:
Code:
adb push /system/media [replace_with_file_location]
Example:
Code:
adb push /system/media C:/Users/Admin/Desktop/bootanimation.zip
If it doesn't work, try
Code:
adb shell
cd system
rm -r media
mkdir media
Then do adb push again.
If there are any problems with flashing the zip, please let me know. I've just started learning how to write the updater-script.
¿hola esta animación funciona en surnia con lineage os 17.1 android 10 ?
