For those who want to Unroot their Karbonn A9 with less chances of without bricking
Before performing any operation make a Nandroid backup using CWM.
Download this http://karbonnklinic.com/download/Downloads/sw/A9.rar 145 MB Update file which is in zip then extract it on your computer. After extracting there will be another zip file named Update.zip.
Now put the Update.zip on your phone's sd card, please make sure you have not put it under any folder.
Now reboot your phone into recovery and then install choose the option Install zip from sd card and then choose the option Install Update.zip from sd card, when you will select it, it will find the Update.zip file automatically on your sd card and ask you to install. Just install this file, it will took 2-3 min for install.
After successful installation don't reboot the device, just go to recovery andd wipe cache partition and then under advanced select option wipe dalvik cache, if you don't perform these option then you will stuck on the Karbonn Smart start-up screen.

[Q] What is "update.zip"?

I've been trying to figure out what this is. I see it referenced in ROM Manager, ClockWorkMod on my recovery, and Titanium.
I don't understand exactly and precisely what it does and how it functions.
I've been searching forums and Google and no one can give a good explanation.
All I can assume is: It's a file that is used to flash over the ROM, but I don't understand it's role, or when one would want to make this file, or how to use it. Does it automatically run every time you flash a ROM?
Why would I want to do "apply /sdcard/update.zip" in CWM, instead of going to "choose zip from sdcard"?
Thanks for helping a newb...
Update.zip packages are compressed folders that contain files used to install an update to your device. They can range from installing an entirely new OS version to just installing a program to your system or data areas. They are often used for tweaks that can not be done while the phone is operating normally, hence they are done in recovery. When you select 'apply /sdcard/update.zip' in CWM the phone is assuming the file is named 'update.zip' and must be in the root of the sd card (don't know if G2X is looking at the internal or external card but I will assume it is the internal card). When you select 'choose zip from sdcard' the latest version of CWM will let you browse the internal or external sd card for any zip package with any name. This is much more versatile as you don't have to rename the package update.zip and it can be anywhere on your sd card. This feature is not on stock recovery and one needs an alternate recovery for this versatility.
If you flashed CWM from ROM manager it did not flash it to the real recovery partition. When you choose boot in recovery from RM it tricks the phone by booting into recovery and then having that apply a special 'update.zip' it installed to your phone that then boots up the CWM recovery you 'installed' from RM.
I believe Titanium Backup (pro vesion) can create update.zip packages to reinstall backed up apps and data.
They are all the same thing but used for different purposes. Typically the zip packages contain apk files, needed data, an updater-binary and an updater-script. The updater-binary is the file that tells the phone how to interpret and apply the updater-script. The updater-script contains commands in a language called 'edify' that instruct recovery how to apply the update.zip package.

H7100 The alternate way of rooting + CWM + Adjust of internal space

Recently, I wanted to root my H7100 but I was unable to connect my phone to computer. So, I decided to root it in other way. I wanted to get some more space and to get a Hardmaster ROM so I decided to experiment.
First, I found RootMaster apk. So I tried it and it worked. (http://d-h.st/Ctf)
Then I have done following (see the attachments):
1. picture - Press the root button
2. picture - Press the root button
3. picture - Press the purple button
Well, now you are rooted.
Next step was to put recovery into my phone.
1. I have downloaded and installed the app Flashify from the play store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cgollner.flashify)
2. Download Recovery.img (http://d-h.st/12M)
3. Flash it through Flashify (press Recovery image and then Choose a file, in Open From choose your file explorer and locate a recovery.img and choose Yup!
My next step was to increase the internal memory with this app (http://d-h.st/Z0P)
1. Install it as any other APK
2. Run it and choose the size you wish, but DON'T CHOOSE 3GB - it will erase your internal sd card
3. Press Reboot recovery and Wipe Data/Factory Reset the phone.
And if you want to get rid of chinese bloatware, get some speed for your phone, or some other tweakes you can install Hardmaster's ROM. But not by his way, we can do it the faster way.
1. Download Harmaster's ROM backup (https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B20F9DClLNBbUzRCWjI4bVJBN1U/edit)
2. Put it into sdcard/clockworkmod/backups/ (make a new folder here and put the backup into it)
3. Flash into recovery (turn off the phone, press the Volume UP + Power button at the same time...you will see the traditional CWM screen and wipe data/factory reset, wipe dalvik cache (Advanced-Wipe Dalvik cache) and format system (mounts and storage), after that press Backup and Restore and choose the name of your folder where you have put the backup
4. Wait for it...
5. Reboot the system and after a while (5-10 min.) the phone will boot.
Well, now it's up to you to develop some new things into this phone. If you want some tweakes you can install Exposed installer.
Happy rooting

Hi There,
try using some other SD card and place the file in sd card. If still doesnt work then you can flash rom using Flashify or Mobile Odin.
Otherwise rename the rom file to update.zip an choose install update.zip in CWM.

you wiped all the data on your SD card and the cache, you -I guess- won't find it
place it on your external SD card

Flash again stock ROM or try with twrp first
Let me to help you
1. Use Philz Touch Recovery
2. Download META-INF Files
3. Extract it
4. Drag it and replace META-INF to You Rom.zip
5. And try install it to your phone

what do i do next

i recently bought a galaxy tab s2 8inch tablet (sm-t719). i want to root it
i am following:-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7JjDfeIyRI and http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-s2/development/twrp-3-0-2-1-galaxy-tab-s22016-sm-t713-t3390627
this is what i did until now:-
1) i copied the supersu zip file to the tablet
2) i ran odin on my laptop and i installed twerp on the tablet
3) i tried to do backup of boot, system and data. it said failed and cannot mount /data
4) it failed because:-
At the moment TWRP isn't working with encryption, this means the DATA Partition and internal storage cannot be mounted.
To mount the Data partition encryption needs to be removed and the boot image patcher needs to be flashed below.
This can be done via the FORMAT DATA button under the WIPE option in TWRP.
5) i did the format data and i got stuck. i dont know what to do next
i am unable to find the supersu zip file that i copied to the tablet. also if i say reboot then the tablet is not booting up and this is because of:-
After formatting DATA the boot image patcher can be flashed with TWRP. The boot image patcher MUST be flashed before booting the device to system.
what do i do next?
should i get an external sd card, put card in my laptop and copy on it the supersu zip file and the boot image patcher, put the sd card in the tablet then install the supersu and flash the image boot patcher? is this the only way?
@cns00 your status for now??? Did you able to boot or it won't turn on ????
i can turn on but i cant boot. it said i need to flash the image boot patcher so i can boot and i didnt do that
i put tablet in download mode. can i install the UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.76-20160630161323.zip by using odin instead of doing it in twerp? if yes how?
can i flash the no-verity-no-encrypt_ashyx.zip by using odin instead of doing it in twerp? if yes how?
or do i need to get an external sd card and put both zip files on it and do it in twerp?
