Important notes:
1. If you want to say "Thanks!"
There are many ways to show your support to the developer. You can:
Press the "Thanks" button.
Hit the donation button and "buy me a beer".
Share your opinion about my work and write some feedback in respective thread.
Advertise my work to your friends.
Rate my thread with 5 stars.
Every way of support is highly appreciated, but it's not expected!
2. Sharing policy
This forum is about sharing. If you want to use any part of my work, please feel free to do it but remember about some simple rules:
Inform me about using my work by sending me a message. You don’t need my permission, just inform me.
Include link to my thread from where you took particular files.
Give proper credits for what you used.
When it comes to using my ROM as a base you are free to do it only if I don't have "Stock ROMs" thread available for particular device. If such thread exists, you are
obligated to take ROMs from there instead. These threads with "Stock ROMs" are usually updated within 24 hours from the moment when I release my custom ROM.
Sharing is one thing, but please respect some areas of my work like:
ROM name - "Android Revolution HD", "Android Revolution", "Revo HD", "AR HD" etc.
Graphics used in my threads, especially head-banners designed exclusivity for me.
Other parts of my work that are not supposed to be used by others without proper permission.
Please let me keep my threads design unique. I’m sure you can do something even better yourself!
3. Support
If you have any issues or questions, please feel free to post them in the respective thread. Due to my commitments in real life I can't answer every PM, tweet or facebook post.
If you want to get the fastest and the best answer - ask the question in the thread. Every month I need to remove about 1.000 new messages from my XDA inbox. I’m sure it’s better if I spend this time cooking new ROMs.
4. Signature banners for users
Due to the increasing number of users flashing my ROMs we introduced some time ago 3 special groups of members.
Android Revolution HD Recognized User – every user might get this rank with proper banner by being active in my thread (or threads).
Helping users to solve problems, answering questions or preparing threads with add-ons for Android Revolution HD are the most common ways to gain this rank. Just be active and we’ll contact you!
Android Revolution HD Advanced User – every user might get this rank with proper banner by doing some amazing modification, application, theme etc. for Android Revolution HD.
Creating simple bootanimation might not be enough, but you never know! Having Recognized User status before is not needed!
Android Revolution HD Supporter – every user who shared some server space with us (with proper bandwidth) will get this banner. Please keep in mind we can't use DropBox shared folders.
What we can use is minimum 20 GB of space and 10 Mbit upload speed. If you want to donate some server space to us, please contact me via private message.
Apart of those special banners, every user might use one of our amazing user banners collected in this thread.
Finally, thanks for using my work! I hope you will enjoy Android Revolution HD!

Sense 5(.5) Toolbox
Sense 6 Toolbox
by Mikanoshi & me
What is Sense Toolbox?
Sense Toolbox module contains a large variety of mods that will improve almost every aspect of your Sense device. You have to have Xposed installed to use these mods (except EQS reorder for older devices). For more info about Xposed refer to the original thread.
A note about compatibility. We develop the toolbox on ARHD on the HTC One M7 and M8. That ensures that every mod is compatible with ARHD. We can't test the mods on every other ROM. But as long as the ROM is near stock without deep changes, it should work there too. For the best and most complete experience I recommend using ARHD.

Which mods are included?
For a complete list, please head over to

How to use the Toolbox?
First you must have Xposed Framework installed (more Info here). After that enable the Sense 5 Toolbox module in the Xposed Installer, set up the mods you like and tap 'Soft Reboot' icon to apply them.
You can also reorder EQS tiles using drag'n'drop on Sense versions prior to 5.5. Select EQS reorder option in Toolbox, tap a tile to remove it, use a '+' icon at the top to add new tile. Tap save icon when you're done.

Backup functionality
Toolbox supports settings backup and restore using default Andriod cloud capabilities. Enable backup in Settings > Backup & reset. Now every time you uninstall and install Toolbox its settings will be automatically restored. If you want to save/restore settings between reinstallations, use local backup on SDCard function (its button is next to Hot Reboot).

EQS Backup function (Sense 5)
Due to the nature of ROM flashes you will loose your custom order on every flash. A backup will be made at every save of the order to overcome that. Start the app and tap the clock icon at the top to restore your order after a ROM flash, then save and soft reboot. Backup is saved to your internal storage. Note that it will be removed if you uninstall Toolbox, or do a factory reset. You can probably save it with the usual backup tools or save the Android/data/com.langerhans.one/ folder on your SDCard.

A more specific FAQ section for the One (For general FAQ scroll down a bit)
1. When I try to enter recovery it just blinks for a second and the phone reboots. How do I get into recovery?
Use Vol-Down + Power to enter fastboot mode. Now connect the phone to the PC and use 'fastboot erase cache'. After that it should be able to boot recovery correctly.2. The phone rebooted itself while installing the ROM, now it just bootloops. How should I recover my phone?
Reboot into recovery and flash again. If recovery won't load, check FAQ 1.3. Do I need to wipe my data everytime I flash a new version?
No, a data wipe is only needed when you come from stock or another custom ROM. It is also recommended but not manadtory to wipe when there is a base update. A wipe is needed if you want to go to GE ROM4. Do I need to flash boot.img seperately?
No, the installer will flash it for you.5. Can I flash this ROM on my T-Mobile / AT&T / Rogers... variant?
Yes, you can. The ROM will work on all the variants except Sprint, as it has some significant differences. Sprint is supported only with version 31.6 as of now. WiFi calling is available in version 31.6.6. And where do I get the old versions?
Here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/6vdveku2fif1r0g/DTdyILNRP8/mike1986/Public/ROMs/HTC_One7. I am on AT&T and my signal is much lower than on stock ROM. How do I fix this?
In fact your signal is not lower. The lower singnal bar display is a cosmetic issue. To check your actual signal strength go to Settings->Info->Network and look for the dbm value. When you compare this you will notice your signal strengh is okay.8. I forgot to select an option in AROMA / I don't want a mod anymore. How can I add/remove it afterwards?
Reflash the ROM with the desired options. No wipe required.9. How do I get rid of the 3-dot-menu?
As of the 4.2.2 update HTC introduced the Long-press-home-as-menu functionality, which also removes the black menu bar. Activate it under Settings -> Display -> Home Button.10. Volume-wakeup mod doesn't work sometimes, is there a fix?
Some variations of the VolWake mod won't work in deep sleep mode. You need to use another variant, like inside a custom kernel.11. Speaking of kernels, which one do you recommend?
This is mainly a matter of personal taste. I use the stock kernel included in AR HD. It is stable and works nicely. You are free to try other kernels, but make sure you report kernel issues on the kernel's thread.12. When will you upload version x.y?
Please, don't ask for ETAs. It will be uploaded, when it's done Sometimes, Mike likes to take a nap!13. Can you include the super awesome mod xyz?
This ROM is meant to be an optimized stock ROM with some important mods in AROMA (APM, %battery etc). Please note that adding more mods also adds possibility for bugs, and increases the size of the ROM.zip14. Do I need to update my radio/firmware to flash the ROM?
It is not needed. You can do it if you want to. Newer radios/firmwares can improve signal, bluetooth, WiFi... refer to the following thread for more information: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=218282315. Does the ROM include radio/firmware/hboot...?
Nope.16. But I really, really want to install firmware! How to do it?
Check the awesome work by vomer and makbil here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42556698&postcount=24958 and here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42586614&postcount=25330 . Please remember, that this is NOT the firmware thread. You better ask questions related to it in the corresponding thread.17. My Facebook app lags. How to make it smooth again?
Enable Force GPU rendering in Settings -> Devoloper Options -> Advanced18. Before I flashed the ROM my phone's speakers were louder. How can I fix it?
This change was made by HTC. It has nothing to do with AR HD. It may change in the future again.19. How can I remove Kids menu?
Install either APM mod or use the xposed framework and MoDaCo Toolkit. It has a mod in it for removing the Kids menu from APM. Xposed is available in AROMA, MoDaCo Toolkit is a seperate download. For removing the actual app, you can use TitaniumBackup and use it's function to remove system apps.20. My WiFi passwords aren't stored anymore. How can I fix this?
You have probably selected the AT&T option in AROMA. For a quick fix reflash the ROM, select international version (no wipe needed, please see FAQ 7 for a note about signal bars when using the international version on AT&T)21. How do I remove the power saver notification?
You can use xposed+MoDaCo toolkit or the following App for that: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jmzsoft.powersaverdisable22. How can I get larger MMS sizes without doing a full wipe?
Please check the guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42471350&postcount=2413723. How can I change the order of EQS?
Please check the guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42609830&postcount=2549624. I have an error about UID. How can I fix it??
Please look in the folder /data/data/. If you have something from Quadrant there delete it. If that didn't help checl /data/system/uiderrors.txt. You may need to delete the quadrant folder from recovery.25. My issue is not mentioned here and/or my phone is still not working after trying to recover. What should I do?
You are always free to post in this thread or join IRC. You will find helpful members who will support you in solving your problem.

Q 16: My Quadrant score is not as high as on different ROM. What does it mean?
A: It means absolutely nothing. Benchmarks on Android System are more or less lottery and they are not showing the real system performance.
There are many settings that can force Quadrant to show more then 3000 points but it's faked performance, that actually can slow down your phone in some circumstances.
What I always emphasize is a real performance, the one you can feel under your fingers. Remember that I/O has some limit and surpassing it shows just a numbers without true ratio.
Also keep in mind that Quadrant has support for Android Gingerbread only in version 1.1.7 and higher.
Q 17: I have com.htc.bgc process force close few times a day. How can I fix it?

All mods listed in this post were reported working at the time they were added. I can't guarantee that future versions work though.
Flash all mods at your own risk! Be sure to make a nandroid backup before flashing or have the ROM at hand to re-flash it if anything goes wrong.
I'll update this post as often as I can and whenever time allows it.
If some links don't work or you found something which is worth being added, please send me a PM.
Keeping this up to date can be very time consuming job, every bit of help is really appreciated!

I don't have mine yet, but I had a chance to play with it during the event in London. It is really amazing device with gorgeous screen.

Stay on topic
Please keep this thread on topic, if you are going to post on how wonderful is to see we already have a custom ROM, or to say your One will arrive on X date you most likely get your post deleted.
This thread is for anything related to Mike´s ROM ONLY, can you do that?
Is not that hard!

I downloaded the ROM (Thanks Mike) and extracted it to a folder on my Ububtu laptop to view the values of the Thermald.conf file in /system/etc, however after attempting to open it with jEdit & Hex editor, I can't get a human legible output, also I ran the Linux 'od' command.
It appears that the file is in binary format, or I am being utterly stupid. This may be noob for some, but for me it's quite advanced

It used to be plain text (e.g. in HTC Sensation) but I also noticed it's not that simple anymore.

I wonder if it will be possible to decompile, or if the thermald.conf will be part of any source code release from HTC.

I'm sure it wont be part of the source code.

Remember to check MD5 Checksum before flashing !!!
With 4.0 beta ROMs I strongly recommend flashing Radio_12.41.60.19_26.06.04.14_M radio.
You need RADIO S-OFF in order to do it properly.
Using a "non matched" radio could have a negative effect on performance, battery life & signal strength.
Don't flash RADIO from ClockworkMod recovery! Extract downloaded file and read the guide inside!

Q 2: My Premium Navigation doesn't work correctly. What should I do?
A: Your Premium Navigation may not work correctly for number of reasons. Most of them are not ROM related. You can try following things:
- reinstalling Locations under Settings ---> Locations
- removing from your SD card /sdcard/.data/navigator/Data/Temporary
- re-downloading maps
- clearing data from Google Maps
Q 3: When my phone is plugged with a cable and I want to go to hboot then it always takes me directly to recovery. Why is that?
A: This is a common issue with ClockworkMod recovery. Please unplug your cable and try again.

Q 6: After flashing Android Revolution HD my SD card is being mounted as ready only. What should I do?
A: Connect your SD card to your PC and do defragmentation process. If you still have some problems with SD card, please read this.
Mac users can use the repair function of the MacOS disk utility to solve the read only problem (Thanks to Calimero1205).
Q 7: My CPU load is all the time nearly 100% and in most part it's used by system. What is the reason of that high CPU usage and how can I fix it?
A: Delete your htcsense.com account. It takes A LOT of your battery and CPU usage.

Q 8: Do I need to wipe data partition when upgrading from old version of Android Revolution HD to new one?
A: I always recommend wiping data partition but it's absolutely necessary only if I mention that in the changelog. But normally you can live without it.
Wipe data partition if you experience some issues.
Q 9: I have some strange issues with my ROM that nobody reported before. What should I do in first place?
A: In first place you should check if the MD5 Checksum is correct. Then flash ROM again and see if the issue is gone. A lot of strange issues can be solved this way.

Q 12: My phone got random freezes or reboots. How can I fix it?
A: Every CPU is different. It seems that your CPU doesn't like OC or UV (undervolt). Try to set in SetCPU max value to 1Ghz.
If it doesn't help, then you need to flash default kernel from the second post.
Q 13: My proximity sensor doesn't seem to work anymore. How can I fix it?
A: Please check this thread for further help.

Q 14: My GPS signal is very weak. How can I improve it?

A: Please clear data from Google Maps, Clock Widget, Weather, HTC weather sync provider and Weather Provider

What I always emphasize is a real performance, the one you can feel under your finger. Remember, that I/O has some limit and surpassing it shows just a numbers without true ratio.

Just flashed 4.0, I'm loving it. With some optimization this will be my favorite ROM. Love how the app drawer is separated by pages, so the scroll stops at each page rather than having to stop it manually. It might just be me but the camera seems to autofocus faster. I LOVE the Quick Settings in the Notification pull down area..now it has all the widgets I use right there...that's handy. The keyboard does seem a little snappier. I'll play around a little more and see what I find.
I did flash the audio fix on top of it as the audio sounded like crap when I originally flashed. I've only tested calling my voicemail, but she sounds much better with the fix
The mail app still won't let me connect my hotmail via Exchange active sync, which I'm able to do with another email.apk I found... oh well, certainly not a dealbreaker
Edit: And I can't find where to turn off fastboot.. no big deal as I can still get into boot loader by holding Vol - while restarting, it's just nice to have the option of getting in there from power down too....
Edit: Nevermind, found it under Settings --> Power
Edit: I also seemed to be having reception/service issues with stock radio. M2 radio seems to have corrected this
jeeez that was quick wasn't it just released yesterday?

Is this any faster then say the generic rooted gingerbread leak?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Does anyone know what I should look out for when trying to backup/restore using titanium backup if I'm going into this rom from ARHD 3.0 froyo? I assume apps that are already gingerbread ready are good to go and basic settings like wifi saves and sms backup?
Just flashed again, still having the sync issue. I can't change the sync times under Accounts and Sync. This seems to be happening on all the leaked 2.3 builds. Otherwise i love it.
GPS does not wanna lock for me.
Edit: as i typed it got a lock. took about 4 mins.
hi mike, first of all, thanks for this great rom. just installed it, have 1 issue, can't install live wallpaper. it says rosie utility has stop. i also have a question, can i install oc kernel from apache 14? btw, i had issues installing the rom until i had format data. i think it should be mandatory rather than recommended. thanks.
HELP!
I just formatted/wiped my SD card so I can go from 3.0 to 4.0. When I went into rom manager to install rom from SD...my screen went to Hboot and then turned black. I'm able to get it back into hboot, but when I go to recovery...it just fades to black. I'm a noob...so I'm hoping that I didn't screw it up TOO bad. I think I lost goldcard status...I put the sdcard back in my computer to reload the img. Could that be what's wrong?
Is there a way to backup how I have all the apps and widgets layed out on the homescreens? I downloaded Titanium Backup but it doesn't seem like it has a feature like that. I am a noob to Android as well.

When I went form the HTC Evo to the Inspire I used titanium back up. It messed up my phone. If you are going to use it restore the apps one by one. Google backs them up for you anyway.

You dont need to format your sd card to put new rom on it. you might have ereased your recovery image. Put a rom you know works and rename it pd98img put that on the root of the sd card which is not in a folder and boot into the bootloader. It should reflash the rom. if not go and download the stock rooted and remane it that.

Mods, Add-Ons and additional Links for ARHD on Sensation
I have taken over this Mods thread originally created by Jotha and then maintained by Kohr-Ah for us ARHD users.
While I try to keep track of mods home and work come first. So, If you have made something interesting for all users, inform me via PM with a link to the post, not on thread.
If you find a dead link or if you think you should be credited for something published here, please inform me via PM, not on thread.
I try to include only mods and animations that either the ARHD-Team or I tested or for which there are positive reviews on XDA.
Mods that are tested by the Team or me are marked with an asterisk *.
Sometimes however I may link to an untested or beta-version. I'll mark such a mod however.
Mods that are installed by flashing in recovery are marked with a F.
For all other links the installation method is described in the linked post.
Flashing some mods may partially or completely erase other mods that you have already flashed. This is because they may include the same files with different modifications and overwrite each other.
In some cases you can avoid that by flashing in a different order, sometimes you cannot avoid it and you only can have one of them.
Most mods cannot be deinstalled without reflashing ROM. So always make a nandroid-backup before flashing unknown mods. In case of emergency you can revert to the state before.
As there is more than one ROM on this thread, the mods and Add-Ons are ordered corresponding to the ROM they are made for.
Do NOT flash a mod that is not made for your ROM version. It will not work or may even render your phone unstartable.

Performance Tweaks for Android Revolution
Android Revolution HD EXT4 Tweaks v.0.1 * F - This mod will turn ON data_writeback for all 3 partitions - system, data and cache. This will drastically improve I/O performance (mostly on write operations) at the expense of file system integrity in certain situations, like unexpected system shutdown. The risk is not extreme, but still bigger then regular. Use this to improve your system performance, but you flash it at your own risk!
Android Revolution HD GPU Rendering v.0.1 * F - Force GPU rendering on 2D operations. This mod is working similar to "Render GUI with GPU" option in Development Settings. Flashing this will force whole system to use GPU rendering (instead of CPU) for all kind of 2D/3D operations. This might improve 2D operations performance, but keep in mind that some apps are not working correctly with GPU rendering. After using this mod you no longer need to tick "Render GUI with GPU" in settings. Even if un-ticked it will be still working. Flash it at your own risk!

Q 2: My Premium Navigation doesn't work correctly. What should I do?
A: Your Premium Navigation may not work correctly for many reasons. Most of them are not ROM related. You can try the following things:
- reinstall your Locations under "Settings" ---> "Locations"
- remove /sdcard/.data/navigator/Data/Temporary from your SD card
- re-download Google Maps from the Android Market
- clear data from Google Maps in system software management
Q 3: When recording HD video, the playback of the clip keeps freezing. How to fix it?
A: This is probably SD card problem. Format your SD card (FAT32 recommended) to gain silky smooth playback.

Q 8: Do I need to wipe data partition when upgrading from old version of Android Revolution HD?
A: I always recommend wiping data partition but it's absolutely necessary only if I mention that in the changelog. But normally you can live without it.
Wipe data partition if you experience any issues.
Q 9: I have some strange issues with my ROM that nobody reported before. What should I do in first place?
A: In first place you should check, if the MD5 Checksum is correct. Then flash ROM again and see if the issue is gone. A lot of strange issues can be solved this way.

Q 12: My phone got random freezes or reboots. How can I fix it?
A: Every CPU is different. It seems that your CPU doesn't like OC or UV (undervolt). Set your CPU to default 1GHz.
If it doesn't help, then you need to flash default kernel from the second post.
Q 13: When I listen to music from HTC stock player it accidentally pauses for short time and then keep playing.

A: It's because you have removed HtcTwitter.apk (HTC Twitter application). Please restore it.

Q 18: My screen-lock sound and keypad sound while dialing numbers is very low. How can I fix it?
A: Download "Quick Settings" application from Android Market and check system volume slider.
Q 19: When I open up the call screen (where I see the recent calls and callers), the calls won't appear in the list. What to do?
A: Probably you are using 3rd party launcher. Remove the dialer shortcut and re-add it.

Q 20: My Wi-Fi doesn't reconnect automatically after boot. How to fix it?
A: Disable fastboot in settings or check this solution.
Q 21: Why my "4G" icon is gone from the status bar?
A: My ROMs are based on WWE HTC ROMs. It means that there is no "4G" icon but you have HSPA+ connection with "H" icon anyway.

1. HTC phones (up until the announcement) came with "S-ON" (Security ON), which prevents anything being written to the NAND I think (i.e no custom roms or nand backup/restores). As the bootloaders eventually become cracked, people have made the phones S-OFF (Security OFF) which means the NAND can be written to and custom roms installed The sensation was released S-ON but HTC have have announced that new phones will be S-OFF - I was asking if anyone had heard if the current phones had been made S-OFF.
2. No one's really sure, we all hope it will be unlocked via an update or something, but it's really up to HTC as to how and when they do it, so I guess for the moment it's just hold tight..
And nope, you're certainly not being dim! It's all very confusing and I'm only just beginning to understand it
Thanks a lot. Now it makes a bit more sense. Gotta love XDA.

Man, give them time to sort it out
It's not been released in most places, so if we get an OTA to unlock, the ROM it comes in has to be Vodafone approved (for those who currently have the device) so we need to wait for that! I bet HTC are working their ass off now to organise an OTA and sort the unlocked bootloader into an update, as well as sorting any other phones they are going to be unlocking! Big task ahead!

I'm with you pal ) I got mine from vodaphone this week, safe in the knowledge that the universe would conspire to get HTC to unlock it. But it will take some time to filter through to those of us who couldn't wait.
So far though I'm finding it better than my previous HD2 with android - faster, smoother, nicer screen, better data connection. I'm sure I can live with voda/htc bloat for a while since I do have dual processors and a bunch of RAM
Can't wait to see what this phone can do once it gets a custom ROM on it though.

Haha it's not that I'm being impatient (I don't even have this phone so a release date doesn't really affect me) but because the rom was released I was asking if they had already unlocked it (i.e so soon after the announcement)
We already have ROMs for a phone that's not even released in most countries except UK! That's the definition of cool! BTW, how did the developer unlock his phone to test his rom, XTC Clip or something? Well, I hope that the unbranded phones that are shipping on the rest of the world on June will be unlocked by default. And I'm really interested on how Vodafone will be ok to provide an OTA that will unlock the bootloader of their customer's phones and make them able to remove the bloatware?
As the sensation hasn't been unlocked yet I'm not sure it has been tested, but if it's a stock rom with just a few tweaks there's no reason it should work. But please correct me if I'm wrong!

The stuff that has been added to the ROM has been in mike's DHD ROMs for a while
It's stock with tweaks, so it should be pretty good to go right off the bat. Once the device is unlocked, then we can really test

[ROM][2012.06.20] AlterROM Redux v1.0.1 [4.67-Senseless][AROMA]

AlterROM Redux (Codename: CHIMERA) is a custom Android ROM for the HTC Evo 4G (Supersonic) which aims for optimal speed, rock solid stability and a high level of customization. Based on a highly optimized version of the 4.67 OTA update, but with most of the SenseUI removed, AlterROM gives you the stability of stock without all of the overhead of Sense 1.0. Utilizing the powerful AROMA Installer, AlterROM gives you the power to choose exactly which modifications you would like in your ROM when you flash, from alternative launchers to custom kernels and everything in-between. AlterROM aims to allow you to make your phone truly yours!

Installation Instructions
1) Backup Apps/Settings & Do a Nandroid backup
2) If coming from another ROM (even the original AlterROM), Wipe all through recovery
3) Flash update zip & follow on-screen instructions

AlterScript
*Included in AlterROM Redux as of v1.0.1
AlterScript is a script created to maintain AlterROM. It is still a W.I.P. and some features (such as Odex) are experimental. Always make sure you have a good NANDroid backup before doing any system wide changes. Use at your own risk. YMMV.
For best results, it's recommended to run AlterScript through ADB, rather than directly on the device. Not sure why, but the Odex option will occasionally freeze the phone. Nothing is damaged, but it requires a battery pull (or adb reboot) to recover.
Location on AlterROM: /sdcard/AlterROM/scripts/
Download Latest Version: Current in AlterROM Redux v1.0.1*
Options:
Odex AlterROM (Experimental)
If you odex AlterROM, you'll need to immediately reboot to recovery and wipe cache and dalvik-cache. Script will reboot device upon completion. Also, you will need to reodex after every version or mod flash and possibly clean install some version.
Re-optimize Performance
This will re-optimize performance settings to AlterROM defaults. Nothing more, nothing less.

Attached some to the OP. Note that the background is not the default, as I have not figured out how to set that in GO Launcher EX by cooking, and the Lockscreen shown is the default GO Locker, which is not installed in my initial release. ROM comes with the standard Android lockscreen.
I wanted this rom to be as stripped and customizable as possible from flash.
Thanks, downloading now

holy crap. i just made the same rom but used tommytomatoe's optimized 4.67 ruu based rom and launcher pro. senseless is the way to go. i was thinking about posting it for the public but now i dont think its even worth it.
Nicely done, Did you remove every possible sense related item (Without breaking the ROM of course)? I been wanting one like that which can give the most possible AOSP like experience. Going to give this a try.

Thanks. TBH, I played around with other launchers (LauncherPro & ADW.Launcher), but I liked GO Launcher EX the best. This is actually my first time using it at all.
I like Sense, but I can't theme to save my life, yet... wanted a little more than stock and to give more freedom to the users.

IMO, you could still release your ROM. Tommytomatoe's base is a LOT more optimized than mine is right now. I thought about using it myself, but decided it would be more beneficial for me to learn what was done.

Yes, as far as I can tell. I left in the Music, Calculator, Sound Recorder and Weather apps (maybe a couple others that are Sense themed), because they looked better with the ROM than some of the market alternatives that I found.
I have plans to try to theme everything I can to fit more with the default look of GO Launcher EX, but I'm still very new to theming.
Looks good. Always happy to try something new

I only noticed one issue so far with the Kernel I think... The wifi drops completely and then reconnects. Not sure why. I've tried other ROM's using this base and that didn't happen. Gonna flash LionFish kernel to see if it still happens.
This has a fairly new look (or at least a new combination of some familiar elements). Thanks grayn0de!

No problem, I also flashed the anthrax kernel but the issues seems to keep happening. It might not be a kernel issue but something else within? I'm no dev so haha, I'm sorry. =) Maybe I can try getting a log but I wouldn't be so sure what to look for.
EDIT: I added a two different logs during the moment the WIFI disconnects. Hope that helps.

Rom recquirements
!!Update!!
This is the first hybrid custom-stock rom. There are three options in aroma regarding HBOOT(ics stock hboot, custom hboots and older 6.98.xx hboots). So for the later hboots there is the option of sticking to the "stock mode", or to the "custom" one. Choose wisely.
This ROM is tested and working on HBOOT 7.00.1002, but scripts are written to fully support the 2.0x.xx HBOOTs (2.00.2002 2.00.0002 2.02.002) and 6.98.xxx hboot.
Installation Procedure
-I. Boot to bootloader (power-off, hold volume-down and power buttons for a few seconds) and write down your hboot
I. Download ROM and save it in sd-card
II. Enter recovery and perform factory reset(recommended), wipe both cash and dalvik cash
III. Install rom (wait 1 or 2 minutes)
IV. Reboot your phone and wait for another 2 or 3 minutes
V. Welcome to RTS 1.2.5 world
Before downloading and flashing(you will see that and in the installation process too) remember that, you try this at your own risk! I don't think that there will be any problem, but I have to remind you just in case.

FAQs
I. After flashing the rom and reboot the phone, it stuck in the initial screen (HTC), Bricked phone?
No, probably your phone is S-ON and had previously a custom rom and a different boot.img. So, after flashing the rom from recovery, reboot to bootloader, connect the phone with the pc, put the boot.img from the zip to the same directory of fastboot, start cmd and type "fastboot flash boot boot.img" then reboot.
if in aroma you have chosen ICS stock firmware (2.02.0002) or custom firmware (7.00.1002 or 2.00.2002 or 2.00.002), and the b2b kernel, then you have to flash boot.img that is @/extra/kernel/b2b/

Nice to see someone new taking up the development on our device and I'll be interested in seeing where you go with it.
It might be nice to include some more details though - what have you removed from the Stock ROM for a start. Screenshots would be good, even if they are almost identical to the original. Basically, tell us all about it please.
I would gladly want to know antutu report, screenshot and a promising battery life.

I was planning to make a post in the next few minutes. We start by removing applications from system/app that they are almost useless, like dock mode, printer, ect. and add to data/app all the must applicatons(their latest version) like facebook, tweeter, google apps, opera browser, backup, teamviewer, ect. the target is the creation of a rom that is ready to play, without extra downloading from the user.
The first rom.zip that we created was at a size of 460MB and was above the limit of 400mb of hotfile, so we had to take out some apps. We searching for a upload-site with higher size limit, in order to upload the full release of rom.zip.
Thank you for your effort.
Can you provide screen shots

I can assure you that it's working with 2.000... HBOOT type. We have two phones available to test our work, so it's not so easy to test all HBOOTs. It needs lots of hours per day and as for now we do not have them. We have our jobs already to attend. But if someone is willing to test it and share the results is welcome to do so.

As written above the host-server size limit per file is 400MB, as a result we were forced to cut some extras in order to maintain the zip size under 400mb. At that stage of our effort we cannot fund a premium account in order to surpass that size limitation. But I am searching for an alternative host-server and simultaneously we are finalizing a new version (1.0.05) with this changelog:
Applications installed under data/app folder[Adobe reader, Dropbox, Ebay mobile, ES File manager, Facebook, Google Maps, Gmail, Street View, Voice Search, Youtube, IMDB, Twitter, Teamviewer, Quickboot]
Added applications under data/app folder [Opera Browser, Skype, Viber, Polaris Office]

We will test it, and upload it. I hope it will be up by the evening
New version 1.0.05 is up. Screenshots updated also...check the changelog for new stuff.

Both cameras, back and front work just fine. Video recorder is working too in HD quality.
As for the games I tested only Real Football 2012 and it was an excellent experience. I do not have time to download and play every game though sorry...

[Full ICS ROM] Multilanguage/Toggle2g /STK/Tethering [Updated 10/3/2014]

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unlike the V1 package this is now a Full ROM, You don't need to install anything before it.
The Rom is in TWRP backup format, so you need to use TWRP to install it
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, what's inside ?
The ROM v2 is still almost stock but has some more addition/variations if compared with v1:
This is the original v1 description
#1 A couple of C-Spire specific Apps are removed
#2 The chrome Browser and the Gmail client are removed to keep the downloads small (they can be easily installed from the Playstore, if needed)
#3 the stock Contacts app from the C-spire ROM has a white background, so I used the one from the Sprint ROM (i like it black )
#4 The static backgrounds are from the Sprint ROM too (i like them more )
#5 the hotspot applet is added
#6 the Toggle2G app is preinstalled, is very useful to get more juice from your battery, but is usually impossible to have it on a stock ROM (credits to TheMasterBaron for this nice piece of code)
#7 The whole ROM is translated in many languages (see the image below to know, what languages are included). Most of the more relevant menus are translated, although the translation is not 100% complete (you can expect some English on LTE, NFC, phisical keyboard settings menus, and similar settings)
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
#8The Swipe OEM keyboard is not limited to English and Spanish anymore, and supports even more languages than the ROM itself
#9 All the Google apps included and the Smartactions App are already updated to the latest available version as today [18/11/2013]
#10 The (ugly) C-spire bootanimation is replaced with the unbranded Motorola "dual core" one.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And this is what's new on V2.
Fixed the missing "allow GSM data" menu that often prevented to use the data from GSM networks.
[*]Tetheron.sh script included to unlock the stock tethering function.
[*]Operator name in status bar.
[*]Four button navbar mod preinstalled.
[*]arrrghhh'skernel, meant to reach 1.8GHz, modded by me to have the external SDcard as default storage location
[*]Additional translations, some refinements in the ones already present
[*]Updated playstore/gapps/motorola apps
[*]The the network type (G,/H, H+) is visible (in gray) even when data are disabled
[*]Status Led is lit when the pgone is charging
[*]The Xperia home is preinstalled as alternate launcher choice
[*]The Xperia keyboard (great !!) with T9 and swipe function is provided as an alternate input method
[*]I reversed the approach to make toggle 2G working here, in v1 was resigned to match my own signature, in v2 the whole ROM is signed with Cyanogen's, signature. So any future version of T2G should work w/o any modifications.
[*]Additionally, given the Cyanogen signature, some other tools meant to work with the Cyanogen ROMs that needs signature may work here.
[*]Additionally, with the "standard" signature a developer other than me can easily improve the rom w/o the need to contact me.
So the ROM is now more future proof.
[*]Likely something I forgot to mention given the rom was built many months ago.
Now how to install:
(Assuming you are already unlocked and rooted, and you have the latest TWRP recovery already installed)
#0 Do a full backup with titanium backup, likely you need to do a full wipe to use this (likely even if coming from the Rom V1)
#1 Download the four 7zip packages and extract their contents. (its a multivolume archive, just place all four files in the same place and extract the content from the first one)
#2 copy the extracted folder in the right place
/mnt/external1/TWRP/BACKUPS/{phone serial}/
#3 do a full wipe and reboot.
#4 follow the initial wizard (it will give an error at the very beginning, just use the phisical keyboard to get rid of it and choose a language other than English, then continue as usual).
#5 Start to use the phone.
#6 Optionally use Titanium to restore the data and the settings you like to restore.

All credits for toggle 2g are deserved to to Rangerbry
The rom is provided with a fully working STK (Sim toolkit), maybe for the very first time on a stock Motorola ROM coming from a CDMA provider.
Most of the credits are due to kabaldan for the useful suggestions that made it possible.

Not mandatory, but you can enable/disable the internal SD emulation editing a line in /system/build.prop
persist.fuse_sdcard = true
persist.fuse_sdcard = false
------
Not mandatory but is suggested to freeze com.motorola.storageoptimizer (or remove/rename Fileservices.apk from the /system/app directory)
This apk is responsible of the option to move photos and videos from the internal SD to the external SD, that becomes pointless and misleading using this mod.
Some little FAQs to prevent boring questions.
#1 Can I use this on any Photon Q ?
Yes you can, (assuming you have TRWP already installed) just restore the backup files provided using TWRP
#2 Can I use It to update the stock Sprint ICS ROM ?
V2 ROM is not in update format anymore, it's a whole ROM, so it will overwrite the old one.
#3 Do you mind to redo the same for Sprint ROMs
No, I'm afraid no
#4 And what about JB ?
See question 3, I don't like JB in general, and even less on PQ (idiotic app picker, features missing, way more ram used and so on), if you don't mind the flick email/contacts function and You like more the quick settings sidepanel from JB you can just use the JB launcher on the ICS ROMs (you need to replace three apk for this (circle, home and home settings)
#5 Why C-spire and not Sprint ROMs as base ?
Because the C-Spire one is way cleaner than the Sprint one, so better suited for non CDMA users.
#6 So this ROM is already debloated ?
Yes and no, it has natively way less bloat than Sprint (or Verizon) ROMs, but I left the ROM as untouched as possible, so feel free to remove what you don't want inside your ROM, according to the dozens of threads about the debloat topic.
#7 What about 4 navigation buttons/battery/toggle mods ?
Can I use Rangerbry's modded apks meant to work on Sprint ROMs?
No, not out of the box.
The modded APK must be resigned to work with this ROM ( I'll post something later. Maybe )
#8 What about the extended Power menu ?
I don't mind to work on it, just use Xposed framework + the advanced power menu module, it works perfectly on PQ
#9 What about the themes ?
See #8, use the linked Xposed framework, install the Xtheme engine, and any theme made for it, they will work flawlwssly on PQ
#10 What about overclock ?
The included kernel is already overclocked to 1.8 GHz, it's not a strong overclock and should work on any PQ, if you want to run @The stock frequency, just use "No-frills CPU Controll", setCPU or something similar to control the CPU frequency
Added the SD as main storage kernel.

So this is based on ICS?
If a mod like this comes to 4.4 for the Photon, this phone could be the most popular keyboard phone on Earth (for modders), considering that 4.4 doesn't have the same overhead (RAM wasting) as JB.
By the way, how is the battery life?

Yes it's based on ICS, maybe I'm too old school but i like more what solves my problems rather than some bells and whistles.
My priority now is to iron out some remaining glitches and to fix some limitations like the tethering one
By the way, how is the battery life?

My Photon still suffers of an hw problem on the cellular radio section (it's way less sensitive than it should be) so the battery life is affected by the higher transmission power it uses.
So, until I replace the logic board my observations about the battery life would be pointless for the other readers.
Anyway the ROM is almost untouched on its basics, so the battery life is no more and no less than the stock ICS one, that can be roughly translated in "is better than any AOSP/Cyanogen ROM"
How can I get data connection working with C-spire rom?

I'm sorry, there's an option disabled on native C-Spire ROM's, I already fixed this long time ago, but given the lack of interest I forgot to ulpoad it.
I will upload the fix ASAP.
As promised i posted the fixed Rom with many improvements
I removed the old download links as the ROM is already fully integrated with the bells and whistles, once provided as separate downloads.
I'm going to edit the faqs according to make them match the new situation.
Thank you, but how to remove the 4 button navigator to get the standard 3 button?
:silly:
I don't need search key, and I really need multitasking key.
Using these files I can't get UI working (no navigation bar and no notification bar)

Multitasking key = long press home as in gingerbread, samsung.
Search key is not just a search key (that anyway is useful on almost any app) but can be customized with varius sw to do a lot of quick task

As I wrote in the instructions, just chose the language (with the phisical keyboard) during the initial wizard and your UI will start working fine

I have explained badly and I forgot to paste a link:
I would like to have the standard 3 buttons with istant multitasking (don't like the long press).
I used these flashable in this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1860983
But won't work. I think that these flashable are for sprint rom only.
Do you have another solution? Also with xposed I can't get that mod, becaues gravity box mods are only for android 4.1+
(I think I could flash original file for GUI)
Thanks

Indeed they don't world as they are. Just look at point #7 on the faqs
The akp involved on the phone core must be signed with the correct signature.
Motorola ROMs have a Motorola signature, this one have the cyanogen one.
So you need just to grab the original SystemUI.apk and resign it with the Cyanogen signature to make it working on my Rom.
If I have time I can do it for you, but not now, later this week.
Do you have another solution?

You can also use Ultimate Navbar Pro to have a dynamic (and fully customizable) navbar + GMD hide bar to hide the default one. (and to get more screen size)
Or
GMD Auto Hide Soft Keys to have more or less the same effect
or GMD hide bar + any navbar replacement, like some circle apps, some floating navbar and so on.
Or a combination of the above to get what fits best your needs.
I have just flashed this rom - works great, but i have a problem with persist.fuse_sdcard i have it set to true, but everything is being put on my internal memory and the sd card is empty - should i change something else ?
Edit: Additionally I have uninstalled the com.motorola.storageoptimizer with Titanium Backup - but I'm still getting the notification that I'm low on space and it wants to move my pictures and other stuff.
....i need multilang version 4.1.2 for my customers

Hi Cornholio - are you still using this ROM, how do you find it? I'm thinking about rolling back to a simpler/faster ROM.
If you aren't using this one, what do you recommend? Can I simply wipe & flash this with TWRP, coming from KK PAC-ROM?
Thanks mate.

Hi there, I sent you a dropbox link to upload into (your gmail email address). Do you think it will flash easily onto the phone coming from a KK ROM?

Got this up & running after a few tries - the english keyboard error is a pita, so rebooted into recovery & wiped a few times. Set it for English UK & the error stopped.
Kinda nice to see the old UI etc. Just need to check that everything I want to use will run on this in the way I'm used to.
Comes up with google books etc, which I don't want, so will look for a way to strip those out.
