hey all
so i updated to cleanrom 6 and i thought i backed my apps up correctly with titanium backup. I had the files back up to my ext SD card they are there but when i go to restore, nothing is there and nothing restores.
did i screw up?
Does tb recognize the correct folder for the backup? Maybe you need to change where it is looking.

nvm, just copied everything to another location and its works
I always have to tell it to change the location in preferences. That way I don't have to worry about moving stuff.

Hey there
Would like to create a backup of my rom. but i don't have a sdcard. In CWM is an option to backup to my internal storage and that's what i also did. Sadly it backed up totally everything. It also backed up my music and even the stock nandroid. after a couple minutes CWM gave me an error because i run out of free storage.
Does anybody has a solution for my problem? Is there a way to backup only certain stuff? Obviously i don't want to backup my old backup. And i also don't care about my music.

My nandroid backup is only 18 mb, no particular option selected, and it's stored in the internal sd.

Only 18 MB? that seems very small to me. Only the room got around 150 MB :/
The backup of my stock rom is around 2.2 Gb

Well, I was wrong
In the clockwork folder there are two folders: one is named backup, and every backup is about 18 mb. The other folder is named blobs and it's 3,36 gb

Hmm how many times have you done a backup? If I'm right and CWM always backups your data (like music, old bakups,...) Your next backup gets huge.

I don't know exactly, I always thought that Cwm backups only the system and not the data stored in the internal sd.
I think I'm going to delete the whole folder and backup the system from scratch.

Until now i thought the same. I also had a galaxy nexus without an SD card but i never had any problems. But i think it had two partitions.
On my DHD i don't have any music or backups on my internal storage. That might be the reason why it works properly.
Could you let me know when you did another backup? I'm wondering if you got the same problems. Or if anyone else got the problem.

Hello! I need help!
I flashed a rom yesterday and I backed up my rom before flashing. Today I was trying to restore my backup and the system did not find it. I can see it using Astro file manager under clockworkmod and backups. But on recovery it won't show. And the recovery shows three backups that I don't remember doing but two out of the three are not accesible. Please, if you can tell me how to make clockworkmod see my backup. I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!
Did you backup to the internal drive or external sd card. Try going to your backup and restore then click the restore from external sd card to see if it is possibly there.

I don't have an SD card. It was saved on my internal drive. I tried to but it says I can't because there is no Sd card.
Did you format your internal drive before you tried restoring the backup. Usually my cwm just populates the ones I have done or if I want to pull one of the ones on my sd card I can. I will try moving my backup and see if I can replicate the problem.

no I didn't I'll try to move it to an sd card and see what happens
I moved my backup to another folder and cwm did not find it. I'm not sure if you possibly moved it from the clockwork folder or not. I hope you figure it out.

If you are still having problems try going into rom manager app. Should have a manage and restore option. From there it should have a list of your backups and will let you restore from one of those.

Another thing to try is to make sure your recovery is current and up to date. That same thing happened to me (with TWRP) and it turned out it was due to me flashing a 4.2 rom (which changes the file structure of your sd) and having an older recovery that didn't support it.

So I just went from TW to Slimbean and I had backed up my apps with Titanium Backup, but when I reinstalled TB it doesnt have any files pertaining to app backups. I formated system and did clean install of slimbean, but I thought TB backedup to the SD...? I am wondering if maybe 4.2 just created a new folder for TB so its empty... something to do with the /0/ thing? Any help would be appreciated..

Did you remember to change the Backup folder in Titanium Backup to the /mnt/extSdCard directory when you installed it? If not it would have defaulted to the internal SDCard.
Unfortunately I did not do as such... Is there a way to navigate my nandroid to pull that tb data? Or do I have to revert back to the nandroid and pull the data off there?

Menu/Preferences/Backup Folder Location/Detect/Whole device. This will make TB scan the entire phone for your backups. Your data has been moved inside the /0 folder and has a symlink to /data/media cuz of AOSP 4.2.2.

Turns out there is actually an option to extract backups from a nandroid... So I did that and it worked. All is well.

Hello, if I created a Nandroid backup and I then format my internal SD card, why it also deleted something in my Nandroud backup?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
buddy formatting will delete entire data... i wont selectively leave the cwm backup...
erase command is not to so intelligent to leave behind nandroid
Make you backup in external and then format your internal.
This will prevent your nandroid backup to be saved

It depends where you stored your backup. If you have stored the backup in the same location that you format then it's going to get deleted.
Once you have made your backup in NANDroid I highly recommend you move this backup to another location where you can always access it incase the worst happens. I usually place a copy of my backup locally on my network and in a cloud storage. This covers all bases.

Definitely become a huge fan of backing up everything! I just flashed a new ROM and last back up was a week ago.....nothing like learning through trials! :silly:
Move the backup elsewhere before formating

I always put my backups on my external sd card. Then if i mess something up on my internal memory and screw up my tablet i can restore no matter what happens

Hello everyone, I restored the first backup of my LG-P999 through cwm to stock. I had already installed titanium backup after rooting my phone and before flashing roms. And now that I am back on this stock rom none of the apps i used to have running cm7 will show up in titanium backup. Is there a folder I could extract from my cm7 backup to get them all back? Also just curious because I will be getting a new phone soon and how I am going to get all my apps back.
Thanks in advance

In titanium under preferences go to backup folder location it has an option to automatically locate a backup folder or if you know where it is you can find it. Cm7 uses sdcard as primary storage, stock uses internal so it confuses titanium.
