Hi,
I tested RR3 on TF101 with CM10.1 but that's lag a lot.
Is it possible to explain how to configure CM10 to avoid this lags ?
Thanks
I haven't used CM10, but if you can overclock try that first. Check my sig for a free app to do it.
You can overclock natively in CM10, it's in performance settings, no app needed.
Comments on Play store say the last updated caused the lag, I have it on EOS4 too
The update is causing lag.
Hope it clears your doubt.
I been playing RR3 on my modded stock rom tf101 and it didn't lag at all...ran perfect along with NFS most wanted...idk but seems to me that these roms y'all have seems to help smoothness and newness of your tf101 but if nothing is wrong then no need to fix or use different ROMs causing your tab to think differently and run harder...but that's just my opinion on this tab as I'm a heavy customizer on other phones...try the touch booster
sent accidentally from my gangsta ASUS Transformer
I am not having issues play RR3 with my TF rooted running only the stock ROM. It would be cool if the mirrors worked though.

Thanks for the info.
Other question : The o/c to 1500 mhz changes something in the game ?
Chainfire works with cm10 ?
Is it something to change in the configuration of cm10 ?
Thanks for your replies :good:
I upgraded but it's always lagging.
Any solutions ? Other games works smoothly (wildbloods, nfs, ...)
I know I am a noob. (I watched the video)
I rooted my tf101 yesterday (CM10.1 nightlies ROM) and now I was trying to install RR3.
The problem that I have is that I cannot install this game.
Device is not compatible.
I know I am doing something wrong and I searched this forum.
Can someone send me in the right direction?

Could be a vareity of things, like Build.prop, screen dpi, or market region.
Theres a real racing 3 config app on the play store that lets you choose graphics presets, lags on my tf300 too but if i put it on low-high preset it runs fine.

I downloaded the APK over on the Nexus 7 forum & that was a post at the beginning of the month. I don't know if there is an updated version or not. If there is I would like to try it. There is a MOD to the graphics setting to make the mirrors work. I did try it & the game was almost unplayable. I reverted back to the original setting. I am rooted but completely stock & the game is really smooth with the normal settings.

I play real racing 3, sometimes crashes

The OS seems to be lagging. It could be the hardware or maybe its the infancy stages of Honeycomb, but not a single thing on the TF is smooth.
-Switching home screens lags
-Playing Angry Birds lags
-Window animations lag
[Q] Is anyone else getting these problems?
It kind of hinders the experience, and for industry leading specs, the performance is quite poor.
The only lag I've noticed so far is with the keyboard input on web pages.

Have you tried using Advance Task Killer to kill background running apps or processes? This helps me when I experienced any lags.
I have never experienced lag on Angry Birds, but then again you may be running more apps than me.

I experienced this a few days after I got my tablet. It ended up being an app/widget I had installed off of the market called weather3d. As soon as I tracked the problem down and uninstalled the app, it was smooth again. Kind of scary how much a wonky/non honeycomb tested app can destroy the performance of your device.

Unfortunately, it was lagging out of the box. I was showing it off to my sister and she's like "what are you trying to show me, the sketchy transitions?"
Maybe its all the widgets? I have all the stock ones including calendar, youtube, android market, and browser widgets
Mine is laggy too especially during home screen transitions using the HC launcher. It is noticeable especially if you are coming from an iPad. I have read that 3.1 fixes these problems and transitions are silky smooth with no lag. I'm currently using Launcher Pro with 1 home screen since I don't use widgets and I like to keep all my apps on one screen. This seems to save on RAM and makes app switching smoother.

How much RAM is everyone getting. My tablet is reading out 185 mb being used and 380 mb free, so a total of 565 mb.
I know the tablet is supposed to have 1 gb of RAM.

I was getting lag with the default launcher, right now using VTL Launcher and its much better. I am getting lag with the browser (default) but with the debug tweak pages are loading much faster then before but theres times when it does lag. Was getting lag with the asus keyboard and just the android one and its much better.
Like any techsupport would ask:
what have u loaded on-the-job tablet? And don't say nothing because everyone loads at least one thing on a new tablet.
Have u tried to remove all installed apps (and Flash-bet u installed that)?
Have u rooted it yet?
Have u tried to root it yet?
Have u attempted/completed any firmware upgrades?
Are u using a dock?
Have u tried it without the dock?
Have u tried a hard reboot (hold power button for 12-15 secs?
i get panel transition lags when i set some live wallpapers
stock, no root, with latest firmware
If u want no lag and and want to use as many widgets with out system lagging do this
1 download ADW ex in market
2 go to adw setting and go to general behavior, animations and effects, transition effect and select *Curve ( I've tryed all pf them and some reason curve has the best fluid swiping)
4 make sure wallpaper scrolling is disabled
5 set desktop bounce to 15
6 set scrolling to 230
This is my way of a lag free life.
Also turn off alm the gestures there not needed
Ill do a video of before and after soon
You are correct...that really made my home screens fly!

-First thing out of the box: lag from scrolling. Then got flash, still lagging
-then got Angry Birds
-then got other android apps
-Not rooted, haven't tried
-just got notice of available firmware update today, will do after battery charges past 50
-No dock
-hard reboot did help a touch
I think I will try to restore it factory settings first, then runnig the firware upgrade, then getting flash. Will post results
Good News! I restored the tablet to factory settings and actually restored it from backup after that. Here is what I have noticed:
-The tablet is working much faster now, with no appreciable lag. Still some tiny amounts here and there but totally forgivable
-The preloaded music (4 songs) was gone. I think this means that before the ship the tablet they preload it with random software. So now its all gone, and whatever was causing the slow down before is gone now as well.
-I restored from back up so I have all my apps back as well as flash and it works perfect
-Also, the Asus keyboard no longer lags! Which is great because I like it better than the Android one. So if anyone wants to use the Asus keyboard without lag, just reset your tablet to factory settings.
Thanks for all the help everyone, I will still try Cowballz69 idea to speed it up even more
Hey,
I have a problem with my p500, all games are lagging despite the ROM I use, it all started 1 week ago after a phone reboot I was using ICS Oxygen at that time before this problem all games ran fine (e.g Gravity guy, doodle jump, flow free, jetpack joyride etc) after that reboot all of them (Yes, including flow free, the lightest game I know) started to lag, I tried to uninstall some of my apps, same thing.
I thought is ICS's fault even tho the problem started all of the sudden so I installed Oxygen GB here Gravity guy runs fine but the others still lagging even worse.
The apps I have installed are: Adfree, audio FX widget, chrome, file manager, Go launcher (+ locker) and some games.
The phone is running smooth in launcher, browser or any tasks but it lags in every single game despite its requirements.
It might be a hardware problem that occured all of the sudden? Some viruses ( I highly doubt)?
I tried OC on both roms 480-691 performance/smartassV2 on ics and despite the OC i have the same problem.
Any ideas?
Its because of vsync off
Its originally screen tearing not lagging !
(Neko95 told me that)
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Well the problem occured after a restart, I also installed Oxygen GB (rom that i used before and worked fine without any setting) and still no luck i highly doubt that is about VSync.
Also can you point me to a kernel for GB hopefully that's the problem.
Still no luck, every single game is now lagging but YouTube HD or any other launcher effect works fine also scrolling is smooth.
Any ideas?

i recently switched to kitkat roms and i have tried AOKP, CM11 (both official and fxp340) i am experiencing a massive change in the battery life, no memory full issue, it's light as well .. there is one major problem though, i like playing games like asphalt 8, nfs mw, shadowgun , mw etc but the thing is that these games are lagging a lot_i have tried stock, thunderzap, phantom kernel so far and none of them are working for me .. i have tried overclocking in thunderzap/phantom kernel, switching to performance, removing the the gpu undervolt setting but still no luck.
what should i do to play games without lag on cm11/aokp because i dont wanna go back to stock jellybean rom (which was ofcourse flawless when it comes to gaming)
please help !
anyone ?
This is basically the same as my PINGUYS CARBON JB 4.2.2 ROM ported to the Yellow Kernel ROM base.
All I did was OptiPNG, Zipped the apks and patched services.jar with "Ultimate Jar Power Tools" to improve multitasking. Also stripped out the libs in the apks and added them to system/libs.
Added my little tweaks to it. Replaced the launcher with the Google Now launcher. I added the Lollipop keyboard (from the Google Play Store) and the Sony Walkman music player with the UPNP/DLNA Media Server. Also added a custom sound engine that will greatly improve the sound quality.
MX Player is included and has working AC3 sound using a custom Arm v7-Neon codec.
There is a load of extra fonts added and I built in a modified version of flash that has Hulu support..
KSM and zRAM are enabled by default with custom values.
zRAM size is set to 154.8 MB/18.75% of total RAM and KSM pages_to_scan to 1536 and sleep_millisecs to 6000 reducing CPU cycles and saving battery power.
DOWNLOADIn the attachments I have added:
Xposed GEL Settings
Xposed Installer
AdAway
Changed the base to 10.1.3 Yellow Kernel as this is easier to work with.
On first boot it will hot-reboot.
@PMikeP,
"I don't see a way to change grid size, add screens, change Home screen etc. on the launcher. It's not in my settings when I click the 3 vertical dots.
Similarly, I don't see a way to disable the Search bar/disable Search."
I don't think Google Now / Google Launcher / GEL let's you change any of that.
But, I *think* you can install XPosed and then use the GEL Tweaks module. I used that 2 or 3 devices ago, but haven't used XPosed in a while.
---------- Post added at 09:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:19 PM ----------
So, let me ask this,
If I have a previous 10.1.3 rom and make a back up through TWRP,
Can I do a complete wipe, flash this and then restore data from my other backup, or will that mess with the tweaks on this rom?

Hi FirePsych: Good idea not to clutter up Jon's thread with comments about Pinguy's.
Okay on the new Google launcher. If that's the way it is, I'll stay with Jon's. I'm not about to install Xposed on my aviation tablet.
I tried uninstalling the search with Titanium, but doing that hung the ROM on reboot.
I don't know the answer to your last question. Of course you could give it try. This ROM does seem to do some preprocessing at boot, per my problem with Link2SD hanging the boot.

Why not just install Nova or Apex Launcher?
Or do what FirePsych said. Install Xposed GEL Settings.
Link2SD issues is probably due to system/etc/init.d/08setperm. Delete the file and see if that sorts it. But the way it sounds is you gave the ROM 3 minutes then removed it, so giving this advice is probably pointless.

If you was running 10.1.3 you can dirty flash this. You may have to go to apps and clean data for "contacts" and "contacts storage" (settings>apps>all and scroll to "contacts" open it and choose "clear data" - then go back to "contacts storage" and do the same thing.) if you get the android.process.acore error.
I tried a dirty flash and it didn't seem happy. Tried my idea and it was a little better, but since I had time, i did a full wipe again, flashed it and let Google restore my aops. So far, so good

Thanks for the input. I could try another launcher, but never have had to before. If I do, can I then disable voice search, and how?
I will try your suggestion for Link2SD.
I'm sorry that you sound upset. But actually, I gave the ROM 3 hours. As I use my tablet for aviation moving maps in the cockpit, I need something that works 100%. (And so I'm not going to hack it with Xposed.)
Jon's meets that requirement. Since you had put so much work into yours, I thought I would try it before I go flying again. Nothing personal.

Sorry my bad. Wasn't in a good mood that day.
GmsCore
QuickSearchBox
Google Now Launcher
Are all needed for the Google Now Launcher to work. Removing any of them will break the home launcher. It is why it hung when you removed QuickSearchBox. Without it the system had no home launcher to boot into.
As Google Now is a huge reason why I love (and many others) Jellybean I made sure it was working in this ROM.
If you are not a fan of Google Now, install a different launcher first before removing it. This way the ROM won't hang.

Thanks. It occurred to me later that there are philosophical differences between your ROM & Jon's.
Jon's is a spartan ROM, vanilla and free of Google stuff. (By design.)
Yours is more an "everyman's" ROM, built w/ the latest launcher and complete with mods for entertainment. (Ability to play Hulu Plus, better audio, etc.)
For my purposes in the cockpit, I need a bare bones ROM like Jon's. (I flash a stripped down version of GAPPS just so two of my aviation apps will install, and then I disable Play & Frameworks. Very lean. Very little running in the background while flying.)
If I knew enough how to do it, it would be interesting to take Jon's 10.1 ROM and fold only your performance enhancing features into it (i.e., keeping it Google free), to see the improvement and to see how stable it is. (That would also give an apples to apples comparison.) But since I don't know how, I'm content to wait for some other enterprising dev to do it someday.
Oh this seems very promising. I use mine for university. So a lot of reading, some surfing and mailing but also for entertainment as well. Most shows I watch on my nook so I will give your ROM probably a try starting this weekend even though I am not keen on Google now but I use NovaLauncher anyway.
Nice to see that there is still some development with this device.

f2fs. But you can use ext4 if you like.
Possible bug: .MKV files with ac3 codec can't be played with MX player, vlc or BS player.
The Rom overall seems to be running smooth but unfortunaly not very liquid. At least not AS auch AS pure yellow kernel Rom. It's not too distracting though.

Really? Anyway you maybe able to share the video giving you problems? Every video I have is MKV with DTS or AC3 sound and they all work fine.
Well I won't share the video due to legal rights but write the given codec information: H264 MPEG-4 AVC , A52 Audio aka AC3 48khz 448 KB/s.
Another issue seems to be playing flash videos in Browser. They won't start. For example:

It started one time but as I watched it through I couldnt replay it. AS I try it now it won't even load. Also no possibility for fullscreen view while I do have thatat this page with my Smartphone.
It you cant recreate these issues I do a clean install again but maybe you do.
Bzw any recommendations for governors and i/o?

I don't think that Xperia L has a gyroscope. It only has an accelerometer and the VR doesn't work with that.
Anyway the game lags massively for me as well, after playing for a bit it lags so much it's barely playable... sometimes it freezes completely.. i am currently using the CM 12.1, i wonder if the game runs better on the CM13, can anyone attest to that?

I am using the latest Resurrection Remix. As long as I don't do AR, it's usually not too bad. Just need to keep it plugged in or use an external battery booster. Thing just absolutely hammers the GPS.
A main part of it is I have no idea of knowing how much of it is down to how well the L runs PoGo, and how much is just the sheer popularity of the game and the strain it puts on the servers.

On mine works fine. I use AOSP+PRO rom and greenify(Thanks to @Rockmins ) and it works fine, not much lags at all, the game has frozen only 2 times and i think its because of the servers, but the battery drain from the game is big and AR doesn`t work. Try to install it from apk mirror, not google play and you need to be running android 4.4+ on stock rom it won`t work.

Try to Flash ZDkernel with this same Rom (also with ZD kernel control app make sure to overclock it to 1.5ghz , use smartmax governor and tripndroid as I/O Scheduler) ! And using greenify hibernate all other network using apps!. :good:

Just visit apkmirror.com, search for pokemon go, download apk, put file on your internal storage. you should also install es file explorer from google play first., then find your apk and install

Hi,
I'm using CM 12.1 (gapps 5.1.1). Pokémon Go used to lag a lot and freeze after some minutes. Every time it happened, I had to pull off the battery and start the phone again. I solved the problem installing ROEHSOFT RAMEXPANDER. I have a 32 GB Micro SD Card, so I have plenty of space to share with memory swapping. The game didn't freeze anymore, but the lagging was still there. It was annoying.
Then I flashed Thunderzap 4.16 kernel so as to control CPU, I/O scheduller etc. After flashing Thunderzap, I felt as if the phone itself got a little bit slower, even with the possibility to overclock the CPU to 1.7 GHz. I haven't found out yet an optimal setting to CPU governor, I/O schedduller and readahead size. The best I could do was "On Demand", BFQ (or Tripndroid) and 16384 kb, respectively. Even using this config, Pokémon Go still lags a lot. Sometimes is playable, sometimes not. And don't even think about battling... When there is a lot of graphic demand, the performance is awful.
Well, it's needless to say that Xperia L has a small internal memory and storage and all new apps you may want to install will "eat" a great deal of it. I created a second primary partition on my SD Card and installed Link2SD so I could move big "system apps" such as Chrome, Maps etc. Anyway, as expected, the phone is slow and even trying Greenify, it isn't getting much better. A lot of apps crash unexpectedly.
Does anybody know if there is a better setting I could use with CM 12.1 so the phone could run more smoothly? Or the better option is really flashing AOSP-RRO (which I haven't tried out yet)?
(P.s.: I HATE when I find a new Pokémon and the game crashes... ¬¬)

Sometimes making the phone work on 1.7ghz can bring lag to the game(and it's not a good frequency for the XL to operate in also).I'm sorry I cannot comment on how to make it good on Lollipop Roms cause I haven't downgraded from Marshmallow. If you are moving to RRO I suggest you to use ZD kernel (and ZD app) and prepare to sacrifice some of the internal storage for free space(Gapps Pico).

Thanks for the hint.
Yeah, 1.7 GHz it's too much for XL. I keep it at 1.5 GHz. I've run a few tests and the best setting I could come up with was CPU governor Interactive (or Intlliactive), I/O Scheduller Deadline with 2.048 kB of Read Ahead. I don't like Deadline scheduller, but for PoGo, it performs well. And with less drive cache also the game runs better. With this config XL is running more smoothly.
About the Gapps, when I first flashed the Gapps 5.1.1, I end up removing all the Google junk I didn't want. Anyway, I'll keep CM 12.1 for a while and I'll do a little more of "user experience". When I change my ROM, I'll let you know.
Guys, I tested for a few days the AOSP-RRO ROM and didn't like it. For playing Pokémon Go only, I have to say that it's great, but I didn't like the other options and features that the ROM gave me.
Now I'm using CM12.1 with PICO GAPPs (5.1.1). It made the whole difference. I keep using all the other apps that I suggested above to make the performance better.
Pokémon Go runs smoothly now with a few lags. And the phone also is working smoothly.
