SanDisk Ultra 64 GB MicroSDXC - G2 and Desire Z Accessories

I bought a SanDisk Ultra 64 GB MicroSDXC and have not got it running. My G2 will just check it for hours. Formatted FAT32 with SDFormatter. Any other ideas I could try?
----
Solution: EaseUS Partition to format it FAT32. Tried three times and then it finally worked.

Oh hey, I have the same exact card running perfectly in my G2. Other things you could have tried:
1) Format it in recovery.
2) Load Ubuntu on a USB stick and boot into it. When it's loaded, open up Gparted and format the card into FAT32.

Please let know if it works and how you do it!

Yeah, I have had nothing but problems with it. If I go into mass storage mode it get corrupted within a few minutes of me transferring files over. So i decided to use a sd adapter and just transfer that way. It worked, but after about an hour it says I have inserted a blank SD card and it wants me to format it. Then when I format it, it never mounts. I have to reboot to get it to mount again. Maybe a faulty card. I dunno.

[Q] Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 MicroSD 64GB?

I know the specifications list it as supporting up to a 32GB MicroSD but is it possible to use a 64GB MicroSD card in it?
I am doing it right now, but from what I've read searching on here it has to be formatted in a different device because for whatever reason the tab 2 won't reformat it on it's own, but once you've got the card formatted to fat32 (you need a special app to do it on windows) you should be good to go in the TAB.
Here is a command prompt formatter that worked for me.
1. Unzip the file to the root of C:\
2. Mount your 64GB card on your PC and take note of the allocated drive letter (e.g. e:\)
3. run command prompt on PC (search for cmd.exe)
4. get to c:\ (I think cd c:\ will do this)
5. type fat32format.exe e:\ and press <return>
(where e:\ is the allocated drive letter from step 2, so if it mounts as f:\ you would type fat32format.exe f:\ instead)
This should then format your card as FAT32 which works fine in my Galaxy SII so there's no reason I can think of why it wouldn't work in the Tab 2 too.
This is all at your own risk of course - I won't be responsible if something goes horribly wrong and you kill your card, PC, Tab or anything else...sorry.
Did anybody have any success with this? I am looking at buying the Tab 2 7.0, but I need a 64GB MicroSD.

Yes, I use a 64GB sandisk card formatted fat32 and the tab uses it no problem.
I think I used Easus Partition Master to format it.

Did you not read my post? I pulled the 64GB that I formatted in my SGP 4.0 (didn't you have one of them too?) and stuck it right into my Tab 2 7" and it works FLAWLESSLY.
Stock JB or KK-Boot kernel support exFAT formatted card.

Does anyone know if the need for the sd card to be formatted as fat32 (or, as the case may be, exfat) is also true of the Note 2? I have both devices (plus a Note 10.1, with which I have no problem using the 64gb card right out of the package). The Note 2 and the tab 2 both have issues trying to read a 64gb card. They recognize the card and its max size, but renames copied files and folders or doesn't copy them at all.
Thanks.

Formatted fat32 using , I can't remember now , but it works great.
Will I still get all 64gb of the card when it is formatted fat32? I hear fat32 supports only up to 32gb partitions. I know I will never get the whole 64gb due to file system usage but something like 59 or something gb should be fine

Heads up 64gb MicroSD

Just a heads up, might help a few people. My phones batt drained completely and whenever i charged it and turned it on it always said that my SD card was damaged and needed reformatting. At first i kept on reformatting it and thought i might have bought a faulty SD card.
Then i thought id experiment when it happened again, after plugging it in, i let it charge from 1% to 10% and reset the phone. Suddenly my SD card works again and was no longer considered "damaged"
Just randomly guessing that maybe my phone didnt have enough juice to run the SD card when it was drained to 0.
Have only gotten to test it once. Ill try again tom since on a daily basis i drain the batt to 0 by 6pm. Ill post again if it works again.

I have just purchased the 64gb ultra SanDisk as well.
Put it in once i had formatted it for exFAT and all was well until a few hours into my phone usage it said i need to format my card, as it may be corrupt/damaged. I took no notice and went into storage and mounted it, and it worked again. It does this all the bloody time.
So i tried to change ROM's as i thought hey.. who knows. But behold that when i select a ROM from the SD card it stops working half way through my flash. Lucky I have a backup on my internal SD card or i'd be fu**ed...
Formatting for FAT32 does the same thing. I've emailed sandisk as I must have one of their defective cards.

There seems to be a fix from Phil (Creator of Philz CWM)
In an ADB shell you can type this code to attempt to mount the 64Gb card.
Use a tool like this if you are unfamiliar with ADB interfaces.
LINK:
and then check this out if you are also unfamiliar on how to use ADB...
LINK:
Code:
mount -t exfat /external_sd
I have not tried it yet as I am awaiting my new sanDisk ultra card...

After this mod your sd card will be recognized as internal memory and the internal around 4 GB will be recognized as sd card.
Ok... Is possible to change partition table for join application space with intrrnal space (1.1+4 GB) and use for applicazioni? So the sd could be used as external space...

I think for the moment this mod is all and the best you can do.
As i did not create it, i can't say, if there will be other variants in the future.

Nope, as far as I can remember it was detected by the phone worked.. It still works like a charm. I am using the phone now for over a year with that card and never had problems. I think I tested nearly all available ROMS for that phone and never had problems with the card. At present I am using ViperSV 1.1.1.on the phone.

See, I'm also running ViperSV 1.1.1 and when I put the card in initially it said it was unsupported or damaged. Tried reformatting it in Windows, now shows up as 59GB exFAT in Windows but still not working on the phone. Is yours formatted differently or something?
UPDATE: I'm hearing elsewhere that it needs to be formatted as FAT32 in order to work, and Windows doesn't want to format it to anything other than exFAT or NTFS (while SD Formatter only uses exFAT). Apparently there's some sort of issue with the fact that the Class 10 cards have exFAT and a mysterious 16MB hidden offset partition at the start of the drive, so I'm now gonna try getting rid of that to see if it works.
UPDATE: Yep, looks like both: 1. The phone (Android?) doesn't support exFAT without a mounting mod, and 2. That weird 16MB offset at the start of the drive seems to cause compatibility issues as well. Have wiped the offset and reformatted to FAT32, and the card now works.
Thanks for the recommendation and the quick reply!

[Q] Boost Stylo 64 GB SD Card

Is there a way to get this phone to accept a 64 GB sd card or is it in the hardware and not the software?
It works fine with any modern microSD card of any size, up to the 200GB size from SanDisk (the largest currently available). I have a Samsung Pro+ 64GB microSD in mine, just bought it a few days ago, works without issues. When you first insert the card it'll tell you it's an unrecognized format (because it comes formatted with the FAT32 file system and it can't use that file system for such a large capacity card) and you allow the Stylo to do the proper formatting (it'll make it exFAT with 128KB cluster size). Takes like 3 seconds and the card is then ready to go.

So move the files off the card, put it in the Stylo, format it clean, put the files back on it while it's in the Stylo, then see if it's ok in the other device too.
It's not rocket science, folks.

Not gonna go through all that trouble to swap it out seeing as I'm currently using my LG Tribute with that 64 GB card as my actual phone. I was experimenting to see if it worked because some sites said the Stylo only worked with 32 GB max.
And I went out yesterday and bought a 128 GB card.
I put all my info onto the 128 GB and it works fine. The only issue I'm running into now with the 128 GB is that unmounting and remounting the card manually causes the SD card to show up as Empty/ Unrecognized. If I reboot and the card mounts automatically, everything is fine.
Edited to add, subtract and change words.
Metro lg g stylo useing. a 64gb mirco sd card with no problem
It doesn't work with certain 64GB cards from Sandisk that for some reason don't let themselves be reformatted using various Windows or Linux partition tools. They've got some oddball proprietary write-protect scheme going on. I use Paragon exFAT, NTFS & HFS+ to get these to mount on my Stylo. They mount fine on my old Samsungs, since I guess Samsung pays for the licenses.
