[RUU][Villeplus][SE][Sense][JB] HTC_Generic_1.14.999.50 - HTC One S

Hi guys,
i got a Villeplus (HTC One S Special Edition) as a present and it didn't come with the standard Asia Firmware but with a WWE Generic HTC variant. It's been sent to me from the US and must have been a presentation device.
Anyhow, i asked HTC if i could have the RUU for that since i cannot access warranty in Germany with this device. I got it. Plus, i got explicit permission to share this RUU.
Explainer: HTC has no objection in sharing shipping RUU's but they do object sharing of Beta stuff. This is valid for all RUU's and most likely so since they settled their argument with htcruu.com.
WWE JellyBean Sense RUU for the One S Special Edition, if anyone with a Villeplus wants it. Here it is. Enjoy. (Thanks HTC!)

This can be flashed to S-OFF Ville Devices. It will screw up your partitions though. If you do, don't blame me if things break! For real! It can cause serious issues! Not my fault at all!

Re: [RUU][Villeplus] HTC_Generic_1.14.999.50
this should not be posted here. i think, but who knows, also, we can made a rom out from it right?

Tell me: where should it be posted then, since we have no VillePlus section?

As far as I know it's just an RUU with HTC WWE firmware, even though this is not shipped with devices anymore, since the phone is only sold in asia. Just a normal RUU like for the Ville.

Guys nothing special here sorry.
It's pretty much the same RUU as the 3.16 for the Ville.
Just other bloat ware.
I was after it because I wrecked my S-OFF plus device by screwing around with Ville software trying to find an easy way to adapt Ville custom ROM's to it.
When I started messing about I of course forgot to pull a raw dump of it. I did it later but I had already killed a few system apps and I wanted a clean way to get back. So I asked if I could have the RUU. No way I'm gonna use the Asia RUU since my native language isn't English.
Well I got the RUU from HTC and a permit to post it here.
Technically, it is only different in the way how the SDCARD is mounted. It mounts the card in data/media/ which is similar to the One X I think.
The odd thing is, that the partition addresses are quite the same as on the Ville so it essentially is the same device. It hasn't even got a different model ID. When I now flash a Ville firmware on it, the partition isn't mounted right which I don't understand as the addresses are identical. Still trying to figure this out.

I just want to confirm...there is no Asia RUU for JB yet, right?

AW: [RUU][Villeplus] HTC_Generic_1.14.999.50
Yes there is. It's been posted here and it's on the same host as this RUU in the Villeplus folder (JMZtaylor's androidfiles host).
That Asia RUU is JB too. In fact, it's nearly the same as this one.
[EDIT]
Added Androidfiles.org mirror. Credits to JMZTaylor for letting me upload on his site.
Added JMZTaylors Deodexed and Odexed Stock ROM zips to OP.
Added decrypted ROM.zip to OP. Thank you, Zarboz!

Back to Stock Telstra Rom

Hi All,
Currently running IC Evolution V2.0 Android version 4.0.3 with Sense 4.0.
Is there a way to revert back to the stock ICS telstra ROM as I would like to sell my phone.
Any tutorial would be great.

If you search this thread, you will find the RUU file (executable file that contains ROM, radio and firmware all in one). You just need to plug in, run the RUU and follow the prompts
You didn't specify your model so I'll point out that this is for the Sensation Z710A.

I have time on my hands today so I found the link for you

I had done this earlier as it was instructed by earlier posts. I went through all the prompts on the RUU file and tells me I have the wrong ROM.
Very confused, hope this gives you a better idea

Did you change your CID before flashing your custom ROM? You might have to change this back before running this RUU.
Not to sure.

It is definitely a Telstra branded device.
I just managed to flash the above... Had to manually put it into boot loader... Now phone won't turn on completely, similar to previous issues hence having to take it back to Telstra..

Hi mate,
can you tell which software version exactly and is this a WWE variant?
I ask because i got a Villeplus as a present from some HTC manager and it had a Firmware on it which was WWE and newer than the Asia RUU that has been floating around for a while, BUT, i forgot to pull a full backup before getting rid of stuff in it. So, now i have a (nearly) full raw partition dump but i am lacking data partition (10GB was too large, aborted pull cuz i thought it was stuck) and i also got rid of some system apps i didn't want, so basically screwed up.
Now i wonder if this is maybe the variant i am after? The 1.14.999.50. 710RD (with all WWE languages) and not 1.14.709.16 which is only Thai/Chinese/English?
Plus, is it already adjusted to run on the Ville or is it screwing the partitioning? Cuz i need one that's ok to run on the Villeplus...

This is based on the one already floating around. So not the wwe version. Come to think of it that's what was on my device before I screwed up my device. If you have a full system dump I can make these for it too. Unless its broken. This is working fine on my villeplus without issue. I tested them both on it
Edit: I'm going to try and get the wwe ruu. Its missing from my site anyways

Asked my manager "Friend" from HTC for it. No reply, no way we're gonna get that RUU unless you got a leak source still.
That RUU would be extremely handy as i want to get Viper running on it and Torxx could need the RUU to check out a few things.
And i am currently trying to find my way through HTC's partition wizzardry blindfolded (total beginner with this). All partitions are at the exact same addresses, the Ville RUU's run on it too but the Mounts are screwed in the flashed Ville RUU afterwards so i have no idea where else to look.
Next thing i'm gonna do is pull a RAW Dump of my Ville and write it over to the Plus without mmcblk0p3 to not risk any serious sh!t (hboot from Ville already been on it and working) and then see if the Partitions are still messed up (maybe clear storage with Ville Stock Recovery helps fixing that then??).

It should flash actually. It can also be that dude uses later TWRP variants which are broken and don't flash stuff. He didn't specify.
There's one guy further up who did flash it to the Ville. It's just screwing up the mounts actually.

Unlikely. There's hardly any devices outside Taiwan. Just a very few. No dev will find that attractive unless one of them has an SE himself.

[MOD] [APR 25] Radio Linker

Description:
This mod enables you to switch radios without actually flashing the radio partition.
I am aware the HTC One can currently flash the radio partition via recovery (thanks @he_stheone64) so the usefulness of this mod is yet to be determined, but for now, it offers low-risk possibilities of trying other radios some people would not feel comfortable flashing.
How does it work?
The mod flashes the radio files to /system/mdm. On boot up, if the radio exists in this location, the radio partition will be unmounted and a symbolic link will be created from /firmware/mdm to /system/mdm.
Requirements:
Any HTC One device
Custom boot.img with init.d support
Install:
Flash desired radio zip
Reboot
Profit
Removal:
The mod can be removed by deleting the following:
/system/etc/init.d/00firmware
/system/mdm

FAQ:
Q. How do we add more radios?
A. To add more radios, I need the link to a current firmware.zip/firmware.img/radio.img or the /system/mdm folder of a device on the current firmware and I'll package it and add it to the Downloads.
The radio.img can be extracted with the following command through ADB Shell or Terminal Emulator:
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p31 of=/sdcard/radio.img
Q. How can I tell if my current rom has init.d support?
A. Most custom roms have this. You can check for the existence of a /system/etc/init.d folder. I can possibly be persuaded to add init.d support to an existing rom (eg. stock rom). All I need is the boot.img.

[Q] ROM for hboot 1.14

Can someone list 1 good ROM with a boot.img file what will work with an ATT HTC One X with hboot version 1.14. I have looked everywhere and every page just points you to more pages with several ROMS, most of which won't work with my hboot version. Can I get just 1 direct link to 1 good ROM that will work.
My phone version is 2.20.502.7. I have to add that I can ONLY access bootlader since my phone won't start because I think there is no operating system installed.
Thanks
They all work. You just need to learn how to use fastboot to flash the boot.img.
ViperXL is designed to install boot.img via AROMA. But it doesn't always work, and some users have had to do it via adb. So if you are looking for a ROM guaranteed to work with hboot 1.14 for those that can't figure out how to manually flash boot.img. . . there are none.
Here is a Link , I'd do some reading up and make sure you know what you are doing so you don't brick your phone if you haven't already as your previous post you were trying to install wrong rom.

I remember I had to learn the hard way...boot looping (well not really that hard). Anywho, while you are in the those threads, I suggest looking for facepalm s-off...then again, if you are not understanding fastboot, then s-off is not for you. By the way, I tested plenty of roms, and I am running 1.14 right now
Thanks guys. I fixed the issue with my phone where I had to fix my corrupted sd card first, and then I could install a ROM that was compatible with my phone.
And Redpoint73, not all HTC One X roms work with all HTC One X phones. If they did, this thread would not have been made in the first place.

And what roms don't run on these phones? Only one x roms I know that aren't compatible are for the international version.... Different hardware.
Hboot don't make a bit of difference o Rom install.. someone needs to learn a little more before assuming that he is correct

Any ROM on here and here will work.
Obviously ROMs meant for a completely different device (which the quad core One X is) will not work.
I didn't bother to type "any ROM meant for our hardware (EVITA) will work" because I assumed that you were smart enough to know what I meant, without me having to go into unnecessary detail.
Where can I download this Any Rom? Is it a mixture of roms? JK

You probably shouldn't be flashing anything, you clearly don't know what you're talking about.

[q] htc one x future updates

Hi, I recently purchased an HTC one X and I get a message with red letters saying "this build is for development purposes only do not distribute outside of htc", also my htc has been ramdomly rebooting, I want to go back to the stock ROM because I think I might have a custom one and that can be the cause of the random rebooting.
I have the 4.1 oficial firmware but I am affraid to flash it because my phone can become a brick.... The phone was rooted with SuperSU but I have uninstalled it and checked with titanium and I can no longer get superuser rights(I suppose I have succesfully unrooted my phone), I have also checked on bootlader and I have S-ON so I dont know if I am under conditions to flash the oficial firmware without risk(I dont want a brik). I want the original firmware because of the upcoming 4.2 and sense 5.0 update HTC will be releasing.
Thanks in advace for your help.

Is that all??? with S-OFF there is absolute no risk of briking??
Nonononono there's a tradeoff. Because once you supercid you brick if you ruu while s-on. So you need to s-off so as not to brick while RUUing. Technically because there are no longer security checks you have a greater amount of risk If you do something stupid.

Just flash a stock rooted Rom would be my advice.. what are you gaining from ruu? Look at cleanrom, it's forsurely the most stable for this phone... Just my 2 cents cause if ya don't know what you're doing or are comfortable using adb odds are is you will booger up your new to you phone..

Updated firmware that is not part of the ROM. If you read the top post of CleanROM, its recommended to RUU first. Its not "required", but some folks have found it helpful to resolve some issues, like random reboots.

Nothing you do to your phone can remove all risk of bricking when you flash. There is always a risk.
But if you have S-On and SuperCID, and try to install certain OTAs or RUUs, a brick is certain (known brick condition).

You are confused about what CleanROM is. That is just the stock rooted ROM, not CleanROM.
This is CleanROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1655011
In the top post you will see under Installation: •Highly recomend lates Jellybean firmware and S-Off!
Scrosler doesn't explicitly say "RUU", but this is what he means.

First TY all for the responses, Is not my first time flashing custom roms but this is my first HTC phone and I am a little confused with all the s-off and ruu stuff
That is my software info and I have S-on, also I have unrooted, the phone had supersu but no more, what else do I have to do and what Rom do you recomend???
I really want to be able to install oficial updates without trouble.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
you are currently on the latest software. I would recommend S-OFF if you plan to take official updates. If you're confused about terminology, there's a thread in my siganture "Are you ready to root?" That explains a lot of the terminology.

If you are S-on and SuperCID (which your phone likely is), and try to take the 3.18 Jellybean OTA, or run the 3.18 RUU, you will brick.
S-off will at least prevent bricking from this particular condition. The other option is change back to the AT&T CID.
