Rooted phone, Wifi keeps going out and it's racking up my data. Apparently it's a recurring problem. I want to get a replacement. Can anyone walk me through unrooting?

That's what I did the last few months with wind. But now I got an upgrade with unlimited data for only $30 a month.

Tell them your using and old nokia brick phone. You might even be able to get the cheap $10/month internet and have 3g or something.

Well not exactly. If you buy the phone out of contract then you can use the phone without a data plan. That's exactly what I did with my G2X and I don't have any data plan on it. They also aren't bugging me to get one either.
haha i didnt tell them im using a g2x

Like another poster stated, they only force you in to a plan w/data if you pick up a new phone through contract. Out of contract deals are totally safe and you can use wifi for Internet all you want
My mom apparently asked a person at the tmobile store if this was possible and he said no because the phone will search for internet and update itself and then you will get charged for data usage. Do you have to turn the data off on the phone?

It won't if you keep data disabled.

Is there any way to get past at&t turning back the speed when I go over 2gigs of data? Yah I'm on unlimited plan luckily, but its killer annoying close to months' end. Is there by chance a rom or rooting solution? I'm on the ICS OTA update by the way. New here too so bear with me. Thanx.

Not possible.
Its their side so you would have to hack into their servers and change your data usage.

Hi, I flashed my mom's galaxy s3 to page plus but only 1x data. I have my own galaxy s3 on contact and I was wondering can I use it as the donor and still use it as my phone. Or would it be illegal cloning. I'd like to know as fast as possible. Both phones are verizon.

Ok, I don't think you would be able to. I would get another device to do it. I used the i500.
From what I understand the secret keys are very specific to the device and not general

I wouldn't really know, but the safest way is to get it unlocked at a store. You can search around in the forum or Google of you wish to try some luck.
