then enable smartflash from recovery
flash the rom
i assume your bootloader is unlocked

based on your description you did a unlock bootloader through HTC dev...so you'll be struck with s-on for now but you can still install/flash a custom rom
which has a stock kernel option...like ARHD...if you have custom recovery then flash ARHD normally but select stock kernel while flashing otherwise you'll have bootloop again
EDIT: THIS thread might come in handy for installing custom rom on HTC dev unlocked bootloader

Thank you..
You have to flash boot.img from rom zip file from fastboot "fastboot flash boot boot.img" without quotes or enable smartflash in 4ext recovery... Do you have matching fw?

you may have to flash the boot.img manually

in order to get S-OFF i need to install the Boot.img?
i cant just install Stock FIrmware (if possible)

Did you take a nandroid backup before flashing custom ROM? if yes then restore it, if no then that was silly
If no then there are 2 things you can do:
1. Flash a GB ROM then S-OFF using revolutionary.io method
2. Flash a 3.32 or 3.33 RUU then flash custom ROM
Out of the two I would go with no. 1 because it will save you a great deal of headache later on because revolutionary S-OFF is easier and more user friendly than JuopunutBear

did you use htcdev unlock method to unlock the bootloader?
edit:if you tried to flash an ics rom then it won't boot because with your hboot version you have gb firmware
you have to upgrade first your firmware to ics and then flash the ics rom
and to upgrade firmware you must S-OFF first
to SOFF: http://revolutionary.io/
to upgrade firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1459767
flash 3.33fw universal
just follow very carefully the installation steps and before flashing check md5 sums(important)
after flashing the firmware install the ics rom because your current rom(GB) won't boot on an ics firmware
continued rnexpec
if you don't want to S-OFF
You must have 4Ext Recovery, before flash a zip rom. Enable Smart Flash in 4Ext and after that install the rom

Hi All,
I have been reading various guides on how to flash my HTC Sensation it is currently running the stock ICS 4.0.3 and using HBOOT 1.27. I would like to update it to Jellybean and I have been looking at the CyanogenMod for this or if someone else has any other suggestions. With the current software my phone is running really slow and lags.
I am really confused on what the best procedure is and how to do it, I have found this utility but if someone could give me some hints to where I start.
I think I may have got the drift of some things:
1. Go to HTCDEV and unlock the bootloader
2. Take S-OFF using JuopunutBear
3. Install 4EXT
4. Become SuperCID
5. Flash new Jellybean ROM
Options 1 and 2 seem OK but I am not sure how to proceed with the other steps and if it is the way I should be doing it and it is is all possible with my phone.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

go can use either this guide

only with the second guide you can supercid
After looking at SuperCID is it really necessary? Or do you need to do this for custom ROMS. I know its for carrier specific ROMS but my phone is not branded.

+1. Not to mention, if u are upgrading from ics to jb, there's no need for ruu. Your current firmware (3.32/3.33) will support jb. So you could flash jb even s-on.

Thanks for all your help, I managed to flah Cyanogen 9 the stable version which is Android Version 4.0.4, when version 10 is stable or stops going nightly I will flash to that to get JellyBean unless there is a stable ROM anyone knows about.
Also I see that this ROM has ROM Manager installed and you can flash ClockwordMod Recovery is it worth doing that or shall I just stick to 4EXT?
And
If I was to flash another ROM I guess I just do it from 4EXT and will this wipe all my data and apps again?

You are correct. Flash Roms from 4ext. You can back up your apps and the data with titanium backup.
By the way, albino's cyanogenmod 10.1 is labeled as stable. It has really good performance and has pretty much no bugs.

SmartFlash is, in a way, the easiest way to flash roms s-on.
ALTERNATIVELY, to flash roms s-on (without smartflash), say with some other recovery,
Extract boot.img from whichever rom you want to flash. It typically resides in the kernel folder.
Enter fastboot mode and use:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
.
Watch this.

Yes, that's the way you do it when you're S-On, though you don't need to use 4ext, you could also use twrp and enable HTC Dumlock.
If your phone doesn't boot after flashing it could be possible that you need to flash 3.33 firmware first.
