GemRB is project aimed to recreate Infinity Engine which was developed by Bioware and used in one of the greatest cRPG's of all time: Baldur's Gate 1&2, Icewind Dale 1&2 and Planescape: Torment. Now you can play all mentioned games on your tablet as I succesfully ported GemRB to Windows RT. To run GemRB you need to unpack my archive, install desired game on you regular PC, then copy whole installed content to ./GemRB/games folder and finally edit the gemrb.cfg(which is well commented so I'm not going to explain it). Performance wise, games are playable, older ones run full speed while newer ones encouter stutters here and there but still plays nicely. And that's all. Have fun

Sorry for teasing you but I ported GemRB engine which let's you play best Bioware's RPG like Baldur's Gate 1&2, Icewind Dale and more. Loading is a bit slow but game itself is smooth and very enjoyable. I said "teasing" because I'm not going to release it yet. I need to clean things a bit so be patient.

What a Great news ! Thanks a lot for the effort ! Looking forward to it :good:
DO WANT! I've been trying to get BG2 (well, TuTu actually - BG1 on the BG2 engine) running on the x86 emulator, but a native port would be fantastic!
love BG2 so much! can the game run in full screen?:victory:

updated first post with link.
This is awesome..!!!! Major Kudos for porting this!
Hmm... it appears to mostly work, but I'm getting some odd errors. Note that I'm using the "tutu" mod for BG, which runs BG1 and BG2 sequentially, both in the BG2 engine; this could be the cause of some or even all of these issues. The cfg file is configured for BG2.
1. Touch doesn't work right (it acts sort of like a joystick controlling the mouse) on TouchFeedback=0. On any other level, there's no mouse pointer visible at all, and touch doesn't appear to do anything either
2. The display is corrupted at 1366x768 (UI elements not where they belong, panning is messed up, the "HUD" flickers in and out of view) even though the widescreen support is installed.
3. At 1024x768, the pause button is not visible in the UI.
4. (BIG PROBLEM) When I talk to people, the dialog text does not appear (either what they say to me, or what I may respond). This makes productive interaction with NPCs effectively impossible.

1. All values on touchfeedback bigger than 0 hide pointer as then your finger is supposed to act as one, it's like that on purpose. Also touch doesn't work right in fullscreen as I used sdl library compiled by netham45 which has this issue, just try dosbox or any other app which uses sdl and is compiled for WinRT. I tried compiling sdl2 which from what I read have some advanced touch procedures and GemRB take advantage of it, Unfortunately I failed.
2. About widescreen mod, I can't tell if there are issues because i haven't used this mod.
3. In 1024x768 everything is good for me.
4. GemRB has some problems with writing ini files. Even if you set ingame options to you liking it's going to write strange values in. Just look at gem-baldur.ini in game foder and see that all values are either very high or always "0", that's why subtitles are turned off. I thought it's strictly related only to my build but when I tried to run gemrb on my win8 laptop, it produces same corrupted values. Nobody know why(including gemrb makers).
Ah, thanks for the tip on touch not working in fullscreen. Annoying that it can't just treat touch like a mouse pointer the way the Windows desktop does, though.
I'll mess with resolutions a bit more, see what I can find out.
At 1024x768 fullscreen, all UI elements except for the left control bar (minus the pause button) and main view are missing in-game unless I click one of those left buttons. No dialog, no shop interface, no event logging, no party/status/HP info.
At 1366x768 fullscreen, the UI flickers in and out as I move the mouse, but it still renders in the wrong places and I still can't talk to people.

For me GemRB with vanilla BG2 runs ok in 1024x768, no missing elements, about 1366x768 resolution read this: http://www.gemrb.org/wiki/doku.php?id=fap. If screen still flickers with widescreen mod installed then this whole tutu may be the case.
Widescreen mod is part of Tutu, but I tried reinstalling it just in case. Windowed at 800x600 works, nothing else that I've found does. Still awesome!

I just tried the standalone widescreen mod with my copy and 1366x768 runs without any problem, although a bit jerky(about 17fps).

I needed a PDF viewer for my own purposes, and the closest I could find was Maciej's PDF Viewer (=apv) app on the market. It was open source, and so I made a bunch of changes that I wanted or needed. Anyway, I now have a pre-release for version 0.3.0, which include a bunch of enhancements since Maciej's 0.2.9 release.
Here it is.
New features:
- speed optimizations
- page number display
- options including: full screen, reverse video, various tweaks, page with volume keys
- overhauled file selection: added icons for directories, added home directory option
- better font rendering
Now I posted pre-release 0.3.0 pre 2. Includes a monochrome feature to save memory and a zoom-to-width feature which I think people will find handy.
Sounds like you know what your doing. Not had a chance to test your app yet, but does it have the functionality to add bookmarks and highlight text?
Gonna try it out now, thanks!
No, there is no annotation, sorry. Just reading.
Its really nice with open source alternatives. Im gonna try it out.
I think i will love this. thanks bud
I haven't tried it yet but it would be great if you could add zoom to a fixed percentage
the reason I want that is some pdfs have huge fonts for the page numbering and while technically fit to width is working, there's still a fair amount of room on the sides. Obviously this should be sticky. A bonus would be it would remember the setting by filename
Works good, one option I'd love to get is fixed scrolling like with browsers

Zoom settings are indeed remembered by filename.
You can also adjust how much the zoom buttons zoom by. If you set that to 5% or 10%, you can do zoom-to-width and then press the zoom button once or twice.
Eventually, I'd like it to detect the real edges of the text.

I couldn't figure out how to implement that. Moreover, I find it's poorly implemented in the browser--it locks much better on my device into horizontal movement than into vertical movement!
Instead, there is a "vertical scroll lock" option. This locks the scrolling to be only vertical, unless you make a serious (1/5 screen width) swipe left or right which temporarily unlocks horizontal scrolling.
I`ve just tested this app for half an hour with a bunch of PDFs littered in my Desire. This is without exaggeration the best pdf-viewer I´ve seen so far.
Very useful:
- zooming in steps as little as 5% because most PDFs were made for monitors or printing and not smartphones
- inverting the screen for reading at night or low-light conditions. It also saves power on my screen to read white text with black background.
- and it´s FAST
What I miss:
- an option to forget about the layout of a PDF, so I can only get the pure text. This would be very useful for PDFs designed for magazines with a columned layout, which is a pain to read on a handheld computer.
Keep up the good work

Remember, too, that if you set the 5% zoom option, you can still long-touch the zoom buttons for a 2X zoom.

Wow, haven´t noticed that - that´s quite useful.
Originally I thought of requesting a feature to remember the place where I closed the document because I´m used to open things in the ES explorer.
Then I stumbled through the built-in file explorer - feature implemented
Maybe an FAQ or a short manual would be useful ...

There is a wiki on the project page. You can add a FAQ.
It's a great light app and it has some cool features which I miss on other apps. But my primary feature for PDF readers is smoothness.
It would be great if it would be working as smooth as Documents To Go (their PDF reader). By smooth I mean smooth rendering and scrolling. Also it won't hurt to have multitouch zooming.
I know it's easy to demand and hard to do but at least there are ideas what should be present in the next versions.

That's largely a matter of speed, and it's going to be hard to improve that, except by expending a lot of memory for caching and background rendering.

I agree, but it is a finicky feature to implement correctly and hence requires a multitouch device for debugging. I don't own one. Moreover, there are potential patent issues.
I've just posted 0.3.0 pre 13. This unfortunately has a new bookmark database, not compatible with previous versions, so people will lose their per-document settings. I am hoping this is the last such loss--the new format will make code maintenance easier and is easily upward expandable.
New features/fixes in pre 13:
- store horizontal offset in per-document settings
- better restore of zoom if orientation has changed
- fix round-off error which resulted in occasional horizontal one-pixel-width errors
I would also like to mention the color feature in your app is really great! Now I can read without hurting my eyes in the dark and it saves batter as well. Great feature indeed!

hmmm what if you make the memory size for caching an option in the settings for users to choose their optimum size? Do you believe that this would make any speed improvements?

I see it's kind a hard/expensive to make this feature possible. Darn US laws on patents :-/ don't know if in EU is the same for Android apps but for C++ and other programming languages, there are no e-patents.
Keep on your great work!
PS: I'm using HTC Desire (CM7 rom)

Maybe, but it would need a smarter pre-render queue than we currently have. I experimented with making one, but my attempts were buggy so I got rid of them.
Tell me which scrolling pattern you'd like to be faster? Currently the app (in render ahead mode) is optimized for ebook reading: you read a page, and while you read the page, the next one is rendered and shows up instantly when you flip pages (I generally do that with the volume-down key) or scroll vertically to it.
Unfortunately, there seems to be a bug somewhere, perhaps only on devices with larger screen resolutions (it works fine on my 854x480 Archos, but I am told that it doesn't work on a 1280x960 screen), which makes the next page not show up instantly.

Among the listed improvements, I saw steam rise from the vents where your first safe house is located when this this was added (not sure it was there before though).
This will also affect the resolution which won't change much, just the button layout which you can also adjust in the option menu.
I've also encountered slowdowns during cutscenes and a bit of stutter but nothing major.
Also when I installed this, I had no original .set file located in the folder. So I just dragged it there anyway.
Lag Fix
A user gave me an advice on how to combat the lag when adding the file above or lagginess in general:
"When you have successfully installed the game. Plug your phone to the computer go in to the "audio" folder. Here you have to arange the files from biggest to smallest. Then delete all the files from "CHAT.nfx" down to "END.nfx". It's a totall of 11 files. What this does is that it delete all the radio channels but all the sound FX in the game will stay the same. I have tried it out and after I did it the game runs smoothly".

erm tegra 2 users already get all those effects dont we ? I would much rather have a frame rate fix. I expected the game to atleast run at a constant 30fps on our hardware. I constantly notice the slowdowns... i guess maybe pc games have spoiled me but has anyone else been annoyed by it.
ps. i think first update in market renders this mod pointless
No we don't. Its still version 1.1. Try it first.!

looks like its working because I see lighting effects on cars and streetlights now. It doesn't look like the buildings have all the lighting effects as in the screenshot, but I have nothing to compare it to really. Thanks for the tip, very easy to do.
Only one problem though, when you're watching a cutscene or looking at the map the skip button is in the middle of the screen. No big deal though.
That's weird then, i definitely have all the effects pictured in the comparisons (flares from lights, rain, smoke etc.) I'm not sure what version you guys/i am using but i will post some pics tonight. Maybe this explains my poor 20-30fps performance.
I'm currently using the market version. Supposedly it's been ripped from the xpleria play.
maybe try go to options to restore controllers to default? iirc mine wasnt at the middle of the screen. I hope later there are some ways to improve the graphic texture, that would be nice

You can rearrange it on the controls settings.
I have GTA from the market and updated it yesterday - i tried this file, but did not notice any significant (I say it was the same) improvement over the standard .set file (only controls were messed up).
The game looks amazing with the file. Maybe you just didnt make note of what it looked like prior, cause mine looks way, way better.
Tried again - still nothing - and just in case I went through some comparison shots - rain effects, headlights and lightning effects were there for me even with the standard file... maybe I'm missing something.

Hello everyone, for those who aren't familiar with Sixaxis Controller app, it is an app you can use to you pair your ps3 controller to your android device to play game. Well one of the coolest feature that the app offers is the Touch Profiles (root required). This feature allows you to use your ps3 controller to play those games that do NOT support game pads or controllers. You simply bind your hard controller buttons to the onscreen virtual buttons. If you want to know more about it, google it or search on xda.
Anyway, so the purpose of this thread is to share those pre-made touch profiles. This will save time for a lot of people, whether you are a newbie, an experienced user but don't have time, or simply a lazy bum. If you are sharing your touch profiles, please provide important information such as device resolution, in-game settings (control schemes, sensitivity, and etc...), a list of key functions, and any other important information that may be needed to make your touch profiles work on other devices. Also if you can also attach a screen shot of the button mappings, it would be cool too.
HOW TO USE
1) Touch Profiles are in *.map format. Simply put it in /sdcard/data/com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller/profiles/
2) When open up Sixaxis Controller app, once your controller is paired, simply choose the right touch profile from the drop-down menu. (right under the "Pair Controller" button)
reserved for the master list
reserved for my own touch profiles
Just attached touch profiles for N.O.V.A 2, BackStab, and Modern Combat 3. These touch profiles were tested on my Acer A500, with resolution 1280x800. Theoretically, they should work on devices with the same resolution. Unfortunately I don't have any other device to test them on. I wrote down the list of hard button functions, but that list is on my PC, which cannot boot at the moment due to some hardware problems. When I have time, I will open up the game and recompose a list of what the button functions, then i'll edit this post. In the mean time, you still can download my touch profiles then go in the game to figure out the control.
ps. don't forget to rename the attachments to *.map after you download them. follow the the simple instruction from post #1 then you're set to go. Enjoy!

Hi everyone. I purchased the game Reckless Racing2(fun and great game!!) for my Transformer tablet. Anyway, I made up a touch profile for the game, but I had one thing that I wish I could change, if possible. When I come to a point in the game when I had to chose from a menu, I would like to scroll through using the up,down, left, right and then hit start to pick which option that I want, rather than having to assign a button to that option. For example, in my RR2, I have L1-L2_R1-R2 set to chose which option I want. But is there a set up where I can use the DPad to highlight these options? Thanks in advance

as far as I know, regular buttons (like how you are using) is the only way to select the option menu right now. I would definitely submit this idea to the developer for future updates. Right now it doesn't bug me too much because I play directly on my tablet, thus it's within reach for me to mess around with the menu. But I can certainly see that it would be an inconvenience if you play on your HDTV or sit far from your tablet.
and i'd like to apologize everyone for taking forever to update the control for the uploaded games. It's been very frustrating the past few days in trying to get my computer fixed. after many tests and windows reinstallations, i've finally figured out that my motherboard is the cause of the problem. It's now being RMA's so I hope the process won't take too long. I also hope that this thread gets more popular so we can have a larger database of touch profiles and as well as different control preferences.

Been looking for a thread like this. I love this app and have used it nonstop. Made a few profiles.
First is GTA. No offense to the previous posters GTA profile, but this one does everything in game, down to changing the radio and working the horn.
Droid Bionic 960x540
http://db.tt/xF6jiYpL *updated to v1.4
*Note -There are 2 profiles. Gta.map is the normal game mappings, and gtasniping.map was made specifically for sniping. I don't use the left analog stick in the main profile because I found if I go under 'Input Mappings' in settings and set each the 'Analog up' to 'Dpad up', 'Analog down' to 'Dpad down', etc. It works so much better then the touch analog mapping for walking and driving.
However this screws up aiming while sniping because it moves too fast. So you can switch to the sniping profile which fixes the left analog stick for aiming, but now it is hard to run and drive. You can still use the Dpad for movement in this profile but I prefer the analog stick. So I switch back and forth. There isn't much sniping anyways.
*Note 2 - The controls are not the default layout. I moved things so that they were out of the way and more visually appealing. I have included the gta3.set file, which is the game itselfs controller settings. Place this file under
/sdcard/Android/data/com.rockstar.gta3/files/GTA3, and overwrite your current version, out just drop the file in that directory if no such file currently exists. This will make the controls match the touch profile.
Mappings:
X- Run/drive (update: now used to skip cutscenes and exit map)
Square- jump/brake & reverse
Circle- shoot
Triangle- get in/out of car
R1- handbrake
R2- change weapon
L1- change radio station
L2- horn
R3- drive by shooting Right
L3- drive by shooting Left
Start- toggle taxi/vigilante/etc missions
Power - Map
Analog Right- camera angle. In sniping mode, press forward for zoom in and back for out. *see note below.
*Note 3- when using the right analog stick, press it gently in the direction you want. You will get a better response then jamming it forward, backward or sides. Especially for sniping zoom.
I have spent hours upon hours trying to perfect this profile. Although I've never been able to map anything to the menu screens since I have used every button in game. I hope you enjoy it. And if anyone finds a way to make it better, please do so.
"And now you see that evil will always triumph, because good is dumb" -Dark Helmet
As for my other profiles. Next is Cartoon Wars: Gunner. A fun and simple game that doesn't really need Sixaxis controls, but it does make things smoother.
http://db.tt/F7YGBzUS
The Gunner.map file goes under /sdcard/data/com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller/profiles
Do Not include the folder.
Mappings:
Left analog- movement
Right analog- shoot left or right
Start- pause
X- selects Ok when game is paused
Square- gun 1
Triangle- gun 2
Circle- gun 3
L1- next gun. Also hits 'next mission' on menu screen.
R1- special ability

Dead Space v1.1 (abandoned)
http://db.tt/2rze2SQu
I am abandoning this mappings as its too flawed and buggy. This game was never many to be played with a controller, and it really shows.
I've set most of the buttons right, but because of the close proximity of everything, doing one thing can to easily set off another action. The biggest offender is shooting when just looking. Too much ammo is wasted needlessly. EA did a great job with the touch controls.
But for anyone determined to play with a Sixaxis. Here it is.
Left analog - Walk
Right analog - aim
R1 - Bring up gun
R2 - Extra buttons. (upper right corner)
Circle - gun selection 2 (R2 1st)
Triangle - gun selection 1 (R2 1st)
X - shoot
Square - reload
L3 - Double click to 180 turn
R3 - Objective arrow (R2 first)
Dpad down - Stomp
Dpad up - Plasma saw
Depending on the On screen action, you can sometimes use the right analog stick for them.
Can't imitate the phone shake.

Counter-Strike
Just released by mod community for Android. Game found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1447157
http://db.tt/z5qIBXXe
The CS.map file goes under /sdcard/data/com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller/profiles
Do Not include the folder.
Mappings: R1 - Shoot
X - jump
Square - reload
L2 - Stats
Start - Change view
Analog right- aiming
*Note* I don't use the left analog stick in the profile because I found if I go under 'Input Mappings' in settings and set each the 'Analog up' to 'Dpad up', 'Analog down' to 'Dpad down', etc. It works so much better then the touch analog mapping. If this does not work for you, you may have to alter the profile.
I will be making updates to this as the game gets updated. Game is very basic right now. Only one weapon, no bomb planting.

I think it's going to be important for people to remember...
When you upload a button map, people are going to need to know what device and/or resolution you're working with. It makes a huge difference.
Hi,
here is the first release of my CPS2 emulator for android.
If you like my work you can support me by buying the donation version on the market
CPSEmu is a Capcom CPS2 emulator for android. Play your favorites CPS2 games like Marvel Vs. Capcom, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Progear, Mars Matrix and more on your android device.
- Use the same GUI as my NeoGeo emulator "NeoDroid", so "NeoDroid" will benefit of all the changes added for this release.
- You can put your roms anywhere on your device, but a cache file is created for every (parent) games in a "cache" folder in your roms directory. If you move your roms, move that folder too.
- CPSEmu use a cache file when running, if you have some slowdown in the emulation, try to move your roms on another partition/sdcard.
- Thanks to frandroid for providing an xperia play device to improve/add control code/compatibility

Not bad.. gave it a go on my transformer and just got 19xx to play. When creating the cache images of any other game like mvc, I kept on getting error messages, something about crc and CPU1 (sorry, I forgot exactly what the message said, but I will check later). The roms are ok as I know for a fact that they work.
One other thing is that I couldn't change directory and the device did not look on my SD card to see if the roms were there or not.
That said, 19xx plays butter smooth, although the on screen controls could be better (ie the cross pad a bit larger as it is very easy to run your fingers out of it). I still have to try with my TF keyboard though.
Good job otherwise. I will test on my EVO 3d and report back.
Are you really going to make the GUI for NeoDroid white?
I know this is minor, but I much prefer the black. Perhaps an option?
Also have you considered using the menu button to open a menu with settings, email, exit, rather the the icons at the top?
For devices with a small screen and lots of roms, every bit of screen space helps.
In any case good work with these projects.
:edit:
I realize this is verison 1.0 and you probably have changes and additions in mind already.
A couple other things I noticed, in Marvel vs Capcom the lower buttons are punches and the uppers are kicks.
And the option to disable sound would be nice.
:edit 2:
I'm having a little trouble mapping hardware buttons. When I press up dpad (on a ps3 controller mapped to the phone's hardware dpad) for the first key, the clear button turns blue (highlighted) and it doesnt map the keypress and move on to the next one. In neodroid the mapping works fine
Works great with the games that are compatible, hope to see more games added in the future and the on screen pad is a bit small would be so much easier if it was enlarged a little bit, but that is my only complaint. This emulator is silky smooth and it's so awesome to bust out STF3 and it play flawlessly!

All the best.

- You are probably trying to run a "clone" rom, which need the "parent" rom. Look in the "Compatibility" tab (search button), if there is a line with "parent:xx.zip" then you also need "xx.zip" to run your rom.
- You can just use the "back" button of you device to browse to your roms directory, each time you launch a rom this path will be saved as default rom directory.

- I will see to add an option to change the theme (btw: NeoDroid gui is white since a while now)
- Unfortunatly, google now ask developper to not use the "menu" button anymore, so i add to find another way: the menu bar.
- w00t, i see why this is happening for the buttons mapping, i will investigate in this problem and release a fix soon (in a few days)

For now the emulator need to use cached graphics on your device, so it need to read this cache file a lot during emulation. I had no slowdown on my xperia, but i use a 8GB sdcard. I guess your sdcard is a small one or a slow one.

W00t, i did forget to include that (it was planned!), i'll add that for the next release.
Excellent first release so far, looking very forward to making this my go-to CPS emu. Few things i'd like to point out from someone whos been using emulators on android for years. My config is a Touchpad running CM9 @ stock 1.2ghz dual core.
Sound is off. You can tell immediately from the insert coin sound in SSF2T and Vampire Savior, they do not sound accurate.
Games feel laggy. At first when i tried SSF2T, it was incredibly laggy, but then i found how to disable the filter and it was smooth after that, but still had a weird lag to it. The addition of a FPS counter would be excellent to see whats going on.
No support for players 2-4 to be configured in hardware buttons. I have 4 wii remotes + 4 classic controllers + 2 TVC Wii arcade sticks, so i have the ability to get 4-player arcade games going ontop of full 2-player fighter games with full arcade sticks, which i use with Mame4Droid often. Would be a great addition.
Emu runs in compatibility mode in Android 4.0. Instead of the menu button being natively working, it scales everything to fit the screen. It still looks great, but native 3.0+ support would be great.
Otherwise this is a great emu and i am enjoying it quite a bit. I would also love for CPS1 to be emulated at some point as well, to get all 3 major emus (CPS1/2/MVS) done by the same author would be awesome to have everything uniform.
Excellent work and keep it up.
quepaso: your maybe running roms from on a slow sdcard/memory ?
Version 1.1 uploaded with a few/fast fix, i'll work on all other request soon

The touchpad just has 32 gig of internal storage which is quite fast, no SD card of any kind. Ill update to 1.1!
Edit -
Updated to 1.1, and indeed it is now running natively in 3.0+, no more compatibility mode. Now however, i am running everything non-stretched, and the top bar ontop (touchpad is 4:3 res so gets mostly full screen for CPS2, full screen for console emus like snes/nes) is black and the bar below is grey. I thought something got weird so i switched from stretched, scaled and native, and noticed the background goes from black to grey now, previously on 1.0 it was all black. Due to this, it looked like 2 incorrect levels were displayed on top/bottom when it likely is just a bitmap change to the background causing it.
Otherwise, i think the games are running properly, but the sound being so wrong is making me think it is not running 60fps. Great work so far.

Great! Thank you for the answer. I will install 1.1 and I will let you know how it goes.
Edit: ok, I installed 1.1 on my TF and you were somewhat right about the roms.... ironically, the ones that do run are the US clones. I actually have the (EUR) versions (full roms) and they spit out the error I told you earlier, but once I got the US clone file and ran that, it was good....
I think I may have found a bug. The key assignment....
I assigned hardware keys from my TF keyboard and only the Start, Coin, and dpad are being saved. None of the other 6 buttons get saved for some reason. I did it a few times over, turning off the program, etc and still nothing. I did notice that one of the changes you made included a tweak on this, so I am wondering if maybe something else got lost with the fix.
Looking better and MvsC runs like a champ!
I posted this response to another thread, but thought this deserved it's own thread:
I just installed Guild Wars 2 on mine. This is a VERY viable gaming rig!!
Only issue I found was that when you have a menu up (press esc) and use the mouse to click on it, it does not register the mouse click. Also, you have to use keyboard controls to select another character other then your last played (if you want too) and hit enter to play, clicking the Play button does not register the mouse. Seems more like a calibration issue with the game and the mouse (this is using hardware mouse FYI).
I installed and played Path of Exile as well. Needed a little bit more tweaking of the graphics settings, but over all did REALLY well.
Now, the mouse/touch issue. It has to do with Scaling. By default, the scaling is set to 150%, you need to set it to 100%. Having it at 100% will fix your gaming issues, but will make the desktop ALMOST unusable because of the size of the text. 1920x1080 on that small of a screen, text tends to be VERY small.
So, best thing to do if you want to game and have issues where you need to adjust the scaling, be prepared to tweak it.
To tweak the Scaling:
In desktop, right click on the screen, go to Personalize, Display. It is the percentage at the top. It should have "Larger 150%" selected, choose 100%. You will have to log out to apply.

Have downloaded steam and played Far Cry 3 and Team Fortress 2. Its really smooth! Downside is that it takes a lot of memory ): I'm using a type cover since touch cover is a little bit hard to get used too. I recommend getting a external drive for those big games.
Sent from my CM10 Blaze
I downloaded Warcraft 3 and skyrim.. WC runs everything on max and 1080 with no problem. Skyrim runs at 768p everything turned down fairly well, would say 40 fps+.
As for old times sake I'm going to install anarchy online within the next day or so, which won't tax the system at all.
Btw I scored 7288 on geek bench!
world of warcraft, diablo 3, path of exile, starcraft 2 and eve online running no problem but ofcourse i have to remove one of each coz they wont fit
Has anyone recorded and frame rates for minecraft at various settings? Would certainly trump the iOS and android guys with their little pocket edition.
As for no storage. MicroSD or an external hard drive.
Too bad it gets really hot sometimes :S
I have the following running: League of Legends, Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, Team Fortress 2, DOTA 2.
I hated the scaling, so I am sitting at 100% scaling and I don't mind the small icons and whatnot, but almost every app (not metro) has ability to zoom so np for me there.
Don't bother with changing the desktop scaling to 100% if you don't want to. Just right click on the shortcut, go to compatibility, and check "disable display scaling on high DPI settings" for each game that you need 100% scaling for.
Anyone try Halo?

I would imagine halo combat evolved would be absolutely fine. Someone reported that both skyrim and CoD black ops 2 also run if you play with the settings. Based on that they both require much more powerful hardware than halo 2 I would imagine that halo 2 is also fine.

I just installed WoW on my Pro and it ran fine. Had the settings set to low, I will probably up the setttings to see where the upper limit is. It booted up fast even from the external that I was using. The Pro is no slouch
hey guys, I just got the Pro, and have downloaded the Original Farcry, Left 4 dead 2 and just now installing bioshock... the original farcry and L4D2 plays GREAT!! even with some at max settings! I bought a 64GB Micro SD card and have installed Steam on there which allows me to install about 5-6 more games. I'm so excited! Oh yea, if u wanna know how to install steam on a micro SD card, you gotta follow the tutorial from the link below
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7710-tdlc-0426
I have Halo Combat Evolved running although the game gave the warning that the system was not up to spec. But it plays fine. I am having trouble with COD World at War. I guess I need to tweak some more.
I have Portal 2, CS:GO, Arma2/DayZ, Civ 5, Uplink, SpaceChem, Minecraft and FF7 installed. All work, most work very well, but Arma2 has some issues with resolution.
I have Call of Duty World at War working. The problem was my sound setting. I saw this over at Steam:
-control panel
-sound device manager
-highlight "speakers"
-click "properties"
-On the "advanced" tab set "24 bit, 44100 Hz"
COD would quit on the load. The above change fixed it. Wow the small things make a difference some times.
how about freelancer? i'm pretty sure that'll work great. i just gotta make an iso... i wonder if i'd need a no-cd patch. that's the worst part of playing some old games is that they required a cd for protection. guess i could whoop out old daemon tools.
Just make an ISO image of the disc. Win8 supports ISO mounting, built in (finally!)
I got StarCraft, StarCraft II, Diablo, Diablo II, Diablo III all working. StarCraft and Diablo don't play nice with the PEN and needed some registry tweaking to get the colors right but otherwise work fine.
- Serious Sam 3: BFE in a mix of Low/Medium settings, was pretty smooth.
- Left 4 Dead 2, low settings, was playable
- Diablo III, smooth
All with external mouse and keyboard.
