OK, Guys i have finished my Jelly Bean based rom for Galaxy 3/Apollo.Here are pros and cons:
Cons:
Camera not working at all
Sometimes Bluetooth doesnt connect
OpenGLES 2.0 doesnt work
Cant install XDA app
Video playing doesnt work
GPS sometimes doesnt work
USB File Transfer sometimes works
Pros:
Smoother than any JB rom here
More apps can get installed
Alot of customization
Based on 4.1.1
Mostly stock Android with just a couple of apps
Maximum 153mb RAM free
Almost completely smooth scrolling in settings (sometimes lags)
Everything else runs completely fine
Based on Codename Android
Trebuchet Launcher
Video works (only low quality)
Smoother
Apps load faster
etc.
Customization:
Center clock
T-Mobile Theme Manager
Battery icon style
Battery bar
Navigation bar (with size and transparency)
Number of lockscreen targets
Other functions:
Processor speed
Kernel controls
Start-up tweaks
Voltage controls
Maybe kinda laggy when you first boot it but just wait little bit and it will be perfect!!!
You will need to flash google play...i hope that is not a problem
After i finish this i will port miui v5
EDIT: I fixed that home button not working on some devices! :victory:

[ROM] JoyOS Port for OG Droid [Updated 8-8-12]

As the title says this is a port of the JOY OS ROM for the Motorola Droid 1.
Working:
Calling, Data, Wifi, MMS, etc are working as far as i know
Tweaks:
Render UI With GPU
windowsmgr.max_events_per_sec=150
Video Acceleration Enabled
debug.performance.tuning=1
Disabled Sending Usage Data
Deeper Sleep/Better battery life
Ringing Starts Immediately
NetSpeed Tweaks
Bugs:
There is a glitch when long pressing the home button where everything except the switcher goes upside down [Fixed]
To enable 3G you must go to Settings > Operators > APNs > tap the circle next to Verizon a few times till you see the 3G icon. (This has to be done every reboot) [Fixed]
Signal might not read correctly for some*
Additional Info:
I ported this rom for virgin mobile so there were some framework mods i had to undo and im not sure if everything will work for verizon users.
Also note that I just used a guide here on XDA to port.
If you are on a different carrier such as cricket or metro pcs and need to edit apn settings do all your edits but leave the field "APN Type" blank so you won't lose 3G but you'll still have MMS
Link [OLD]
www.mediafire.com/?bxuoq5wf6zo8c4m
UPDATE:
Instead of uploading the whole ROM and you guys wiping and reflashing here's the updated framework.jar place it in your system/framework folder using a root file browser and set permissions. this should get 3G to autoconnect on boot and fix the upside down multitasking screen. Signal bars are still not working though.
http://www.mediafire.com/?soo1mxcjhbx31xe
UPDATE V2
Changes:
Added Beats Audio with ALSA
Removed DSP Manger and added AudioFX widget Note:use the AudioFX widget included for a better beats experience.
Updated Framwork to fix the upside down task killer and 3G should now auto-connect (it does for me anyway)
removed FM radio apk since it doesn't work.

Because more stuff works.
Not a dig on the ICS and JB devs, just IMO seems with a GB kernel there's little reason to on a dd'er. When/if Aries gets going, that's a reason to try it.

Working Wifi calling. That's about the only real reason that doesn't boil down to bad data/app choices. But it is compelling.

Alright. Point taken tho i don't agree on battery life it seems quite acceptable to me. Boils down to what works for you. I have never had much use for WiFi calling tho.
Only thing I really want fixed for jb right now is GPS but I don't use it that much so its not high priority.

I stick with gb due to the layout.
I prefer the bml over mtd for the touchwiz features....I like going to contacts and sliding to text/call,and so on.
I don't mind waiting patiently for this.
Although it may never happen due to what seems to be most people here don't care much for bml and what it offers...which is all good by me....i do flash everything that comes out and give it a great amount of trial before i end up going back to the gb bml.

Replace the G with J in GB.
LOL
I use FBs VB still. Of course, I like ICS and JB, but GB this ROM is just perfect for what I want. With ICS/JB I have battery issues and also weak wifi signal. So GB feels right. Anyway, there has been a lot of progress and I know it will continue.
The facts
on GB almost everything works perfectly from the box (only some launchers require ver 4 and above, including Apex, my favorite).
Obviously memory management is better on ICS and JB, but most novice users won't feel the difference.
Regarding the UI experience, I think it is much better on ICS and JB, but apps like this - ICS/JB task manager, ICS system style (and maybe a systemUI) can make the difference minimal.
I prefer the UI in ics than gb. It is much faster and more intuitive.
If it helps, hit the thanks button. It's my motivator to be more helpful.

Should I update?

I am currently on Cyanogenmod 9, and I am hearing great progress in Cyanogenmod 10 and 10.1 and also the SlimBean 4.2.2. Should I update to these or wait? What is the difference between slimbean and cm? Cm10 or Cm10.1?
4.1 is has pretty much the same stability as ICS. GPS doesn't work though (the GPS on his device is crap so it doesn't really make a difference). WiFi doesn't work on 4.2, so if you're itching the flash a new ROM id go with the pacman ROM which is 4.1.
Slimbean has more customization options than cm.There really isn't even much of a difference between 4.1 and 4.2, I think there's only lock screen widgets, different notification toggles and offline Google now so you're not really missing out
I'd probably wait as those are all Jellybean based but most still have issues whereas CM9 is pretty stable.
CM10 is Jellybean 4.1.2, most things works but still a bit buggy. Probably not a lot more DEV on this as 10.1 should be the new goal.
CM10.1 is Jellybean 4.2.2, a lot less stuff works but getting there.
Slimbean are just a variation of the above, just slimmed down. They take out all the garbage they can to make it run the best and give us the most space. There is a slimbean 4.1.2 and 4.2.2, both have roughly the same problems as the above ones do.
They're getting closer to getting them working though.

I don't care much for the GPS, it's just that they say that 4G reboots so you have to be on 2G speeds, and 2G is very slow. WiFi doesn't work either. So this makes the phone very internet-less.

The 4G thing was like 10 versions ago of JB. Works fine now in the latest. Wifi works in CM10/Slimbean 4.1.2, just not the latest but hopefully soon. I've been running the Xperia Slimbean 4.1.2 for the past 3-4 days as my daily usage with no issues.

Seems like you do care but whatever ultragen is still the fastest out atm and for all those features your talking about i have no clue because ultragen is pretty basic when you compare it to other roms. It only takes moments to make any rom look how you want. It's all about feel and ultragen feels the best imo

I just said I don't care for theme, and how do you know this ROM is the "fastest"?
Easily is the fastest and i know this from personal experience flashing every ROM xda has for this phone. Everyone cares about themes unless you like stock cm9 which is still a theme that can be applied to ultragen so it looking like sg 3 means nothing. Ultragen also can have one of the best battery lifes if you prefer that over performance.

The settings window looks like CM if that's what you mean. Themes only change the look, not the actual functionality.

S4 Settings Request

does anyone know if we can get the S4 setting look and feel....not touchwiz 5 i mean the actual settings....or can someone bring it over to our infuse....i just think it would be kool
What? It's total crap with useless settings and you can't even swipe from tab to tab in one settings tab. U must always touch the title to switch tabs
No thanks! My cm settings menu is the best and fastest!
Can't developers just tweak it so it does slide?

You mean the Walkman music player from Sony? I think it works only with Sony UI.
I use Rocket Player from Play Store, a stable, cleaner than Apollo(Don't like it) and fast music player from an XDA member!
Try it. You'll feel like it's a stock player!

It does the same thing on an HTC one xl, you're not alone. Must need something that a Sony device has.
