Hey everyone
Another app is finished - App Update Notifier: Crowd Edition!
It is basically the same code basis as the original App Update Notifier (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.goddchen.android.x.appupdate) but it doesn't use any third-party APIs or web crawlers
to gather app version information. Instead, it relies totally on the "crowd". Whenever you check for updates,
your app versions are sent with the request and used to update the database. So, once the first user has an update
installed, everyone else will see the update, instantly!
The reason for this second edition of the app is that all the available APIs for app version infos are pretty much
outdated most of the time, sometimes up to 1 or 2 weeks... That's simply unsatisfying for users of an app update
notifier. With the ne strategy, I hope to solve this problem. Let's see how it goes...
Privacy notice: The app version infos are transmitted totally anonymous! There are 3 elements transfered for each
app: package name, version code an version name. That's it, no device id, email address, or anything!
Looking forward to your feedback!
Grab the app at the Play Store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.goddchen.android.appupdate.crowd

Okay.. umm..
Suggestions/feedback :
1. The app requires to update it's database often since it didnt show update to couple of my apps that were shown by play store.
2. Everytime i changed from update app tab to my installed app tab, it prompted me to either purchase app to remove ads or promoted me with a dialogue box saying it to rate the app. That seems kind of annoying to me at least. Maybe you can reduce the frequency to once everytime the app is opened or something like that.

Well, there are currently 10 users Of course, the database will improve once more users are using the app. That's part of the process...

That's definitely a bug, it doesn't happen for me. It should only popup every 10% or so... Is this reproducable?

Just one thing: I wish it also check playstore version but with priority given for crowd-sourced versions (so if then only if the play store version is newer then the crowd-sourced version, then the play store version would show):good:
Re: [APP] App Update Notifier: Crowd Edition
Testing it now, hope it's better than aTrackdog, which hasn't been updated in years and is showing lots of false updates. You did cram lots of ads into it, didn't you? Wished it only showed ads on top or bottom, not both. And yes, rating and removing ads prompt way too often. Nevertheless, it seems to work fine for now. Identified all my Amazon apps which are behind Google Play versions.

i'm a little confused, it shows that a few apps need updating, yet when i tap them it takes me to the apps page in the play store.
does this mean that i would have to update each app individually by going in and out of the play store??
Re: [APP] App Update Notifier: Crowd Edition
How do I actually update the apps? When I click on them, I'm taken to the PlayStore where one of two things happens:
A) Google reports the apps are up to date
or
B) the apps aren't found.
I also have AppBrain installed and that's not finding updated apps either.
Please advise.

Re: [APP] App Update Notifier: Crowd Edition
If Google Play reports your apps are up-to-date, means there's no other official version out yet, but there's a beta version or some other version of the app floating around on the internet (developers' sites, forums, other markets, etc)

So I have to manually find the apps that need updating? The article I read stated App Update Notifier uses either AppBrain or the PlayStore to update apps...
Neither of those are telling me I have updates...
Why can't I update from App Update Notifier?
What's the point of the app otherwise?

Re: [APP] App Update Notifier: Crowd Edition
The point is to check if there's a new version of apps. If you only use apps from Google Play, you don't really need it. But if you use apps from Amazon, Handango or apps such as the ones posted on xda that never reach a paid market, you would like to know if there's a newer version available.

Hello world!
I just realized that I haven't told you guys (and girls) over here at XDA about this app that I've created. Better late then never, atleast that's what people say.
Before I continue, I might as-well add that this app isn't much fun for those of you that don't play or haven't ever played Battlefield 3. Sorry about that, but I can't do anything about that. If you do however play the game (or atleast have an Origins-account)... well, this is an app for you!
BF3 Battlelog is the unofficial app for the social network for the game, referred to as Battlelog. This is pretty much a crossover between Facebook and a regular game statistics-page, and it's actually a pretty good initiative from EA/DICEs side. However, they haven't created apps for the service, rendering it somewhat restricted via most of the Android-devices out there, but that's where this topic comes in.
BF3 Battlelog isn't just a stats retriever (unlike what many people seem to think), it's actually a "work-in-progress"-development towards getting the most out of Battlelog in our devices. It gets updated fairly regular (depends on what I'm trying to add) and the feedback so far has been pretty positive. Yes, it does actually need your account information (origins-email and password) to work, but before someone starts to shoot off their "he's gonna steal our passwords"-gun at me, I'd like to point out the following:
The app is open source, ie the source code is available on GitHub for anyone to check out and verify that nothing suspicious is going on.
If you (despite the fact that the source is available) still feel nervous regarding your account security, you can either check out the traffic that's being sent from your device (and see that it's going straight to the battlefield.com-server) or decompile (is that the correct term when speaking of .apk-files?) the app to check out the compiled source.
With that said, enough with the wall of text. Here's a list of what you can do in the app so far:
* View player profiles
* View player feeds
* Compare statistics
* View your online friends
* Chat with your friends (even sending offline messages)
* View your upcoming unlocks
There might be some other things too, but I think that sums it up quite good. Hope you people like it!

Oh for the love of code, I knew this would happen on this forum too, but not at the first post.
This is *NOT* just a stats retriever. You can actually use the COM CENTER (except for the notifications that aren't there at the moment), you can interact with other soldiers (post in their feeds, hooah items, send friend requests) and in the upcoming update (ETA unknown) you'll be able to manage your platoons.
Can the other BF3-apps do that above, without needing you to login? Can you even do it in your web browser, without logging in?
Been using this app for a couple weeks now, works well and looking forward to the platoon stuff being added. Good job!
Been using this app for a while, and it's fantastic. It's come a long way from what it was in the beginning.
Up, up and away! I uploaded a hotfix (1.0.6) that fixes the post-B2K broken unlocks, but other than that no new functionality included.
Currently working on Platoons & Assignments for the bigger update. Also, I've setup a forum over at http://ninetwozero.com/forum, which can be used for bug reports and similar things.
Great app, thanks a lot, too bad official battlelog is only for iCrap.

BattleApp was actually a pretty good name, as EA/DICE couldn't copyright-claim it (at least from my point of view). I might change the name somewhere down the road, if I don't somehow get official clearance by DICE themselves.

Oh, thanks for putting it out here too - I tend to forgot where I aughta update from time to time.
New version up on Android Market, goes by the number 1.0.7. Changelog is as following:
Added platoons
Added assignments
Added forums
Added notifications
Added the "global" feed
Tabbed the unlocks
The app is now caching images to the SD-card
Added some initial localization (contact me if you can help translate!)
Added a DONATE-option via the Aboutscreen (MENU-button)
Widget should now be working (via the service)
Forum for the app is now available via http://bit.ly/bf3blforum
Loads of bug fixes and optimizations
1.0.8 is up on Android Market, and it fixes the profile/platoon issues people have had, as well as adding soldier-switching on unlocks/assignment and also the ability to view the non-English forum parts.

Making it hidden from the ApplicationManager is not possible. But in the Flashable Version you can decide the Name int he Applist AND probably you want to use something like "Framework" "System" and without a Logo. Its absolut hidden from the Drawer (No Icon) and Undeletable as Deviceadmin. Another Broadcastreceiver is looking if the App is still installed/Deviceadmin is enabled and will reenable it if neccesesary. You cannot delete it if (not even a single file) if your flashing it.
Ill offer the flashable Version in a few hours. Just check the first Post later

How do we delete the "Cam Galery" (sic) uploaded images from web? I tried deleting them using the mouse over delete icon, but the images reappear?
Oh sorry. Forget to say that i've updatet the Backend. The new Update will be pushed out in a few minutes.
There was also a PRoblem with Android 4.2.1 (and /storage/emulated/...) instead of sdcard folder.
should be fixed now.
* added httpwebserver aswell.
The new app should be automatically updatet in the market within the next 2 hours (just published it).
Camshots are not able to be deleted until yet. Ill make the feature tomorrow.
Ramusage should be less now too
Whatsapp fixed, sms is deletable in webinterface too. Some commands can be sent over the Webserver within the Device (Requires that the Device is in (same) Wifi or the Provider has no NAT/Blocking ports)
It's working somehow. I don't see the app icon or anything like that after it crashed and disappear but once I logged into online, I can track it, take pics, get sms etc.. all working as it should. Amazing. Even voice recording, gallery pics. Now that's crazy awesome.
and here you are.. flashable zip for cwm. Its hidden in application manager and even if it gets killed it is still running
(Tested with I9300)
You need to Login again after the ZIP is flashed (call 127001)

Themed version of "Dood's Music Streamer"
Current version: 1.3.6
Last updated: 050514
I've just modded it to make it look more "groovesharky". I've also changed the icon, name and the widget.
The result is a fake "official" Grooveshark app.
Very simple. This is my first post and I'm not a developer at all, I did this just for fun, as I wanted a better looking free Grooveshark client.
FEATURES
- Listen to your favorite music wherever you are, whenever you want.
- Import lists from your Grooveshark-account.
- Save your lists for offline-streaming.
- Discover new music with the radio function.
- No annoying ads.
- Free.
DOWNLOAD
View attachment signed-GroovesharkDMSv1.3.6-090514.apk
INSTALLATION
1. Remove all previous versions of "Dood's Music Streamer".
2. Download the app and put it on your sd-card.
3. Go to a file manager and install it as a normal apk.
4. Enjoy!

As a paying Grooveshark user ($3/month) this app always irks me when it comes up every repost. I say its bad because you bypassing their pay wall but it does get more users using GS soooo........
Also TinyShark is a similar app.

Its piracy. That's why the app got kicked from the play store. But then again Grooveshark got kicked from the play store for "allowing people to share music". But that's a different matter entirely.
But like I said before just my $0.02.

So all music streaming services are piracy? This app just lets users get free music from a free desktop streaming service like Grooveshark. Users could easily use their free mobile site anyways, this just makes the service easier.

maybe you have to register in advance - try the way over their website http://disa.im
Google+ was a little slow accepting my registration. It worked an hour later.
Stinks that mms only works for Verizon and not Sprint.

You can write maybe That for the Moment Only SMS & whatsapp are full functionally.
Use the app since the First Release, love it.

Great App
Great app! Any rough ETA on any other services? ( I know its annoying but someone is going to ask anyway...so.. )
Now i am using 2 whatsapp numbers with my phone and everything seems to work.
Disas registration phase was far better than original whatsapp apps.
will look for translating the app if there is a way.
anyone willing to share the beta please? i dont have/like google+

that's the only thing I know
Current priority order (with bug fixes and maintenence in between):
1) Notification system overhaul (notifiy the user of failed messages, support turning notifications off for a specific service, etc.)
2) Import tooling for SMS/MMS and Disa DB backup/import support
3) Emoji support
4) Message drafts support (there's a placeholder already by holding down the attachments button!)
4) broastcasts
5) Push-to-Talk
4) Quick reply
5) Conversation specific settings
6) Dark theme
Once everyone is happy with the App, bugs are solved, and the feature-set is rich, THEN work will be under way of another service. I've changed my mind by the way (after a convincing post), the next service will be Facebook integration.

I don`t know if that is allowed, because the developer wants you to join the g+ group...
One reason devs want to use google+ and gpl to publish betas is that you can update the app very easily. That means that everybody has the newest version so they won't receive notes about bugs that are resolved in the newest apk. Hope that made sence

just what i was looking for thanks buddy

maybe I miss understand you but if you once joined the google plus group you can download and update the app from play store without visiting g+... so it`s just like every other app expact you have to join the group to get the link for first download!

no problem mate
I don't know if you wanna get this information here or just look for it yourself but this morning the dev postet some nice information on g+
I've signed off 0.3.1. I will do a day of testing, and then release it.
0.3.2 will be the notification overhaul.
Features:
=>Bitmap thumbnails from phone book are now loaded on an as-use-basis. This will both conserve memory and make loading contact thumbnails faster.
=> Sprint MMS should hopefully be fixed.
=> There are now Overflow buttons (instead of those hidden longclick popup menus).
=> Party information support improved.
=> Clicking on a contact picture or a participant in a party now brings up an info dialog (displays status, last seen, and big/small photo). Keeping up to date with friends you don't talk to on a regular basis is now easy.
=> Text stuck on "needs settings" fixed.
=> Search improved (now supports diacritics, redundant spaces, etc.)
=> SMS delivery reports (second tick), SMS sending system rewritten, and unicode SMS bugfix (sending 40-80 character texts in with non ASCII characters would fail).
=> some UI overhaul, yet again.
=> misc. bug fixes
=> Hybrid Fall Through / Sync mode. Tasker will work now with SMS.
Disa is really getting more stable. Thank you to all who accidentally crashed the app - crash reports are fantastic.
+Max Kovaljov has started working on reverse engineering Facebook Messenger for Android's protocol. It's very similar to the web-based Windows desktop messenger.
Cheers!
Oh no you di-dn't!!
can someone post the apk?

Probably too cool for a Google+ account..
This is a semi-closed beta so you need to join our community before you can become a tester.
Was 0.3.2 ever released? And if so, does anyone have the APK?

no it has not been released! Disa is removed from Playstore because of WhatsappDevs
0.3.2 will come in the next few days but the services will be implemented with plugins!
which plugins do you plan?
Unclouded is a tool to help you analyse and clean your cloud storage.
Everyday you use your cloud storage accounts like Dropbox and Google Drive, and end up not knowing how they got so full, unorganised and cluttered.
Unclouded is here to help you understand which files are using most of your storage, which type of files and when.
Take a look at the screen shots and you will get the idea.
I would love to get your feedback, to help me improve the app as much as possible!

Thanks! Let's see if people will use the bug reports and feature requests sections
New beta update:
1. Now you can see how much space each Google service is using in your Google Drive account
2. Fixed some upload and move issues for Dropbox
Interesting - I just got notice that my promotional Dropbox space is expiring, so I will put this to the test.

hmm yes but do to currency exchange the app is bit overpriced if possible provide the full version of the app for testing purpose and are there any plans of adding other cloud storage
Will you add support for Mediafire and Mega later on?

I won't add support for those any time soon.. It's not that I don't want to. It's because of the API's.

Why is it overpriced?
Yes, but Unclouded needs powerful API's that aren't available in many Cloud Services.
Damn, I though I could get rid of the obnoxious auto backup album.
Any plan on adding this?
I've bought the premium anyway. Great app.

It's not overpriced because:
1 - the app is fully working
2 - functionality that is inexistent in any other app up to this day
3 - one of the best developers with deep understanding of Android and programming in general
4 - great design
5 - costs less than a bloody coffee and it's yours forever. You buy a coffee and 1m later it's gone
6 - I'm vouching for it and if that counts for something I'm one of the most respected developers in this forum
Just get it, it's worth it. I saved like 2GB of trash from my Dropbox from stuff I didn't even know I had.
It's not overpriced at all! It's a great app with a very nice UI,i like it. Bought the full version after few seconds of use. It allowed me to batch downloading files which is not supported with official dropbox client(actually there is no batch option in the app to download files but you can select multiple files, click on share and they will be saved on download folder).Keep up the good work!
