Just saw this on GSMareana, you guys think it's gonna make a difference in our browsing experience?
I love chrome on my desktop but don't like it all that much on my HOX (I use the stock browser)
Wrong section.
Google should focus on making Chrome itself less crappy, not using hacks like this to speed up the Chrome experience. I wouldn't use anything but the AOSP Browser (the CM-maintained version), Firefox, or Dolphin at this point.

I really like sense browser, but I'll have to try that one since I haven't yet!
This post was created and transmitted completely in analog.
I'm trying out Lightning myself. So far, it's a lot faster than Chrome with a much smaller file size.
I use both stock sense and chrome. Chrome for normal stuff and stock if I absolutely need flash.

I've switched to using Chrome exclusively. It used to hang on some webpages but that seems to have been resolved. The only thing I miss about the stock browser is the hidden address bar.
Dolphin here. Browsers are a dime a dozen, I use Dolphin because of the LastPass integration

Just looking to see what browser everyone uses,I've tried a few different ones and haven't found the "perfect" one yet I like the sync feature that firefox has to sync my bookmarks and tabs, specifically the "real time" sync of pages I have open my PC. But for some reason firefox is real laggy on my bolt,Does any other browser have that?
Miren. It's insanely good. I set flash plug-ins to on demand, location off, and its amazing. http://market.android.com/details?id=cn.miren.browser

Firefox on a bolt... Wow. Firefox has been slow and funky on any android phone I've owned.
I agree with the Miren browser suggestion. I've been using it for many moons.
You may want to try out XScope too. It's a speedy feature filled browser. I purchased dolphin xd and used it for awhile, but once I found Miren, I uninstalled the dolphin and never looked back.
Love the stock browser the best.
Dolphin mini is fast.

1. Dolphin HD. I love it.
2. I sure thought Firefox would have been better. It looks and feels great but it is SLOOOOOOOOOOW.
3. WTF doesn't Google have a mobile Chrome browser? Seriously?
I use skyfire. It's a pretty good browser.

Miren
Minimal, easy flash, good looking, no stupid gestures
.eschew obfuscation.
Opera Mobile
I've tried them all and while all have some good features I finally landed on xscope...
I use Miren or Dolphin HD, I just can't decide between them.
Opera Mini on 3G - Opera Mobile on wifi.
been using dolphin hd, but guess I'll give miren a chance.

Google made the stock browser ;-)
I use stock browser if it's AOSP, but I hate the Sense changes to it so I use Dolphin on Sense.
after playing with Miren for a bit, definitely a nice browser. Don't know why all the browsers want to be light blue or light green though.
Only thing seems missing is private mode.

I would love it if they eventually pulled it out as a Market app like Maps and Voice so Sense users could have the option of using it.

I like this idea. The sense tabs view is pretty cool though. I like the pinch out to tab view. One of the very few things I miss on aosp.

I have been using xScope Pro w/pure black theme for the longest time now, I was tired at the time of dolphin's rendering issues. xScope still works well for me, its a super lightweight browser that renders very fast. Some of the UI just seems kinda dated, like all the pages(bookmarks, downloads, settings, etc) are like basic html text pages.
But now there seems to be alot of other browsers out there that may be a bit more clean and still be pretty quick. Over the last few days I've played with a bunch of browsers; stock browser, xScope, opera mini, opera mobile, skyfire, dolphin hd, dolphin mini, boat browser, and boat browser mini... so many choices.
I like dolphin mini, boat and boat mini the most as far as ui/features/speed. They all have a similar ram footprint, mini versions little less ram usage. But I noticed both dolphin hd & dolphin mini browsers tend to use more cpu when I was playing with them. Even well after the page was loaded and the browser was in the background I would see 2-4% usage pretty frequently. Enough to make it a strong negative against. Still haven't picked one for sure, but boat browser is looking better and better.
Kinda curious what everyone else uses.
I'm kind on the same boat as you're, but at the end I'm back to xScope. It's the fastest and very low over head. My main goal is speed, not bells and whistles. I used this browser to open facebook and it's the fastest. Facebook app is nice but it run as a service and used up a lot of battery while idling and cpu also. I would save about 2hrs battery life after uninstall facebook.

I was also using xScope pro with the pure black theme for a while, but like you I eventually got tired of it. I am now using Maxthon with the black theme and so far I like it. It is feature-rich, with great performance, and the UI is an improvement over xScope. You should give Maxthon a try and see what you think.
PS the pure black theme for xscope is better looking than the black theme for maxthon however

So jealous of your GNex lol. I want that phone so bad
The speed of Maxthon is great but the pinch zoom in faceboock is not working well at all compare to xscope.
I have been using Dolphin HD for the longest time now. I tried other browsers out of curiosity but always went back to Dolphin because of it's speed. Boat Browser is my second option, it's kinda like Dolphin but IMO not as fast
opera and dolphin.

I just use stock. It has the best interface of all of them, and it's smooth as silk on EP4. Dolphin annoys the crap out of me because half the time when I try to scroll, it decides to open up a menu bar instead.

I was so excited for Skyfire's release. It really sucks that it was a bloated piece of junk.
Opera mobile here.
Used to use opera until I tried boat browser on my Transformer Prime. It blows away all other browsers IMO
Just wanted to poll which browser users find work best or have the most features. I've used the stock browser, cyanogens browser dolphin HD, and opera. I've found I each one of these has its pros and cons. Just wondering if I'm missing some Jem out there.

Unfortunately, the stock browser is still the best out there. I absolutely do not understand how this is true, yet it is. It has blown my mind that not a single dev has released anything close to good. Chrome? Firefox? Miren has been abandoned.. WTF? Opera is okay, but still Meh..

dolphin browser has had several privacy issues...there is a thread on it in the regular Android apps forum. The most popular choice there was Boat Browser although if you are running ICS Chrome Beta seems to be the winner.
Personally, I like Dolphin Browser HD. I've used Opera, and the Stock on. But DB has the features I enjoy the most. It's Tabbed browsing is just like Chrome's.
Chrome for ICS, Dolphin for browsing wap sites, Opera for browsing web sites (i.e, flash)...
dolphin and sky fire works best for me
Chrome beta for ICS is real good, though i have only been playing with it for a couple of days, I really like the feel and look.
Chrome for ICS wins hands down! The only pity is no flash...
Not having flash isn't a pity, it's a major oversight on Googles part. Seriously... Wth.?

It isn't an oversite. Adobe is not supporting any new mobile browsers. Flash is bloated crap anyways. I hope they go under.

Pre-ICS my favorite browser was Miren Browser. Hands down. Since I've moved to ICS, it has been Chrome only because I'm a fanboy. No flash and horrible zoom rendering make it tough to use at times (I understand it's still in Beta), but it's my favorite so far. It is definitely the fastest.
Gotta say Chrome.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA
I am using the Dolphin HD browser, seems to work fine for me. Then again I do not use my browser so much.
It's a shame chrome is only for ICS - Dang marketing strategies...!!!
Opera Mini is good for browsing when only edge connectivity is available.
Firefox is ok, but i dislike the way it does zoom.
Dolphin and Miren browser are good.
And that, is my pov
Chrome beta and ICS Browser + I prefer on ICS. I also like Dolphin Browser Mini. Have used that browser for awhile.
One thing I like about the stock ics is it signs in your account automatically on Google services... not present with chrome beta(it does sync with desktop chrome tho, which the original one doesn't...

I use Chrome because of synch simplicity too. Nice to be able to pull up recent pages from any device I accessed.
I tried Dolphin. Didn't see much difference though people claim it is lighter and faster.
Dolphin and Chrome don't support Flash. I use Firefox Beta for that. Regular Firefox seems crashy. Not that I use it a lot but it is nice to have for testing.
You can get Flash from Adobe here... You can't get it from the Play Store any more... The stopped supporting it.

I use naked browser. Lightning fast. It got XDA front page attention a little while back. Written by one of our own. Fast, flash, but few frills.
I'm a fan of Firefox. It's not as fast as, say, naked browser, but it's stable and it's not owned by Google.

Naked Browser is not owned by Google and it is a not for profit app.
On the other hand, Google gives major funds to Firefox so in a way Firefox is pwned by Google.
Dolphin, Maxthon, Boat...most Android browsers spy on you.
Naked Browser does not spy or monitor in any way and never will--not even any ads.
Hi,
I'm fed up with Chrome browser on my Nexus S. Way too laggy for single core.
What is the best lightest, quickest browser for Nexus S now?
I have tried Dolphin but don't really like the layout. Prefer something minimal similar to Chrome but with no lag.
Is boat browser still going? I remember that from a few years ago.
Any recommendations appreciated.
I'm currently trying out Helly Bean FYI.
Cheers.

Me Gusta!
I am a bit of a purist, and have used the stock browser more than anything else. I do like the smoothness of Opera and the quickness of Opera Mini, however Opera is so large, it can be slow, and Mini doesn't support flash. A few weeks ago, I tried Naked Browser, and it has become my daily driver. It's minimalistic, which I like, and quite quick. Only thing I don't like, and this minor, is the icon. So I simply change it to the stock browser icon (Holo HD launcher), and I'm good to go.
Firefox is the way to go.
