[Q] Galaxy Note N8000 is not being recognized by Epson X14+ Projector via HDMI - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
I would appreciate some help with this problem.
I have a Galaxy Note N8000 not being recognized by Epson X14+ projector. When I use it with HDMI adapter, it works on all TVs here at home. My Epson Projector X14+ always works with all notebooks i have tested with same hdmi cable. Always working well.
So I really cant understand this problem,, if the projector works fine with all notebooks, the hdmi cable works with all devices, the Galaxy Note works with all TVs, why my tablet is not working with the projector? The projector always says "no signal". Im using power cable at same time in adaptor like manual says.
Someone help please? I need to solve this problem to use this projector with my students while i teach. Thank you in advance,

someone please? Im very worried.

[Q] MHL Adapter not working on Samung Galaxy Note N7000

Hello All,
Search quite a few threads on xda as well as internet but unfortunately nobody have been facing issue similar to mine.
Okay, let me put it in brief. I bought an original samsung mhl adapter for galaxy s2 from ebay which presumable works well with samsung galaxy note too (haven't seen any MHL Adapter specifically for galaxy note) as heard on forums and web. It did not work. So, i got back to the vendor and he replaced it to me with another MHL Adapter. That too did not work. I got a refund as the vendor was good.
I still somehow wanted the MHL to work so went to a different vendor, known for good products (i.e. flipkart) and purchased another MHL adapter after confirming with the executives that yes it would work with galaxy note. It too isnt working.
In both the cases, the phone gets charged but there are no such notifications (notifications such as USB Host Cable Connected, or Keyboard Connected or MHL Connected etc). I have a working HDMI 1.4 cable (tested and verified), and yes, i am aware that external power is required to the MHL Adapter. .
Now, every other functionality on my phone is working well, like USB Host Mode, bluetooth/usb keyboards and bluetooth/usb mouse, data sync via usb etc etc, its only the MHL adapter which is giving me an issue constantly. Can the micro usb port on my Note be faulty ? I dont think as every other options are working fine.
I have tried all the three MHL Adapters (2 from the 1st vendor and 1 from the second) after i upgraded my phone to ICS. Are any other users facing the same issue ?
Any help is highly appreciated.
Apparently, there are problems with MHL support on ICS.

MHL adapter regarding....
hi guys,
i am also facing the same problem with MHL adapter. i tried to connect my galaxy note n7000 to sony bravia 3d tv via MHL but failed to do so. whenever i connect MHL to HDMI Cable to tv and to phone nothing happened and not even my phone or tv show any sign of connection or any notification regarding that. my phone not even show the battery charging sign. i also used 3d HDMI cable for the connection but nothing came out.... and when the vender (from whom i purchased the MHL) gave me the demo the same MHL was working fine with his HDMI cable and tv but the cable and tv he used were not 3D whereas i have a 3D tv. i dont understand why i am not able to connect the MHL adapter using 3D HDMI cable to my Sony Bravia 40HX750 3D tv with my Galaxy Note n7000. still struggling with that.... any reply in this regard will be appreciated.... thanx.

I was wondering if you have a video on your note, can you connect the note to a television to watch?

if said projector has an HDMI input (and you have the above mentioned adapter), I don't see why not.

Yes I know if the projector has an HDMI input it will be like attaching to HD TV, but Iam asking about how to connect to a projector with VGA port
get a vga to hdmi converter
One point to Note: You do need to connect the charger for the HDMI to work which can be a bummer
the whole GALAXY to NOTE about...counting down from 10 to 1.

So I get this right, the HDMI adapter needs to be powered externally for it to work?

I haven't tried it but maybe a pricey but elegant solution could be using the Samsung AllShare Cast Wireless Hub (info is here).
No cables at all!
To use a VGA projector you'd again need an HDMI to VGA connector. But this time it would be attached to the hub, that is powered by itself by its cable.
This answer my original ancient question: "Is it possible to send the display signal to a projector through wifi?". And the answer is (apparently): "YES!"
I've seen a video where the hub was used to send to a TV set the images of a race game, while playing with it. No evident lag at all.
I wonder if there could be a similar device made by some third party (-> less expensive).

Here is the solution http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32039367&postcount=8, awesome, I really enjoy it to present wireless.
Just recently I had the projector with VGA cable but discovered that the projector had the second, HDMI port, so I quickly connected the AllShare cast dongle to HDMI and the projected screen quality was even better.

I just got my Allsharecast dongle in the mail today, and I must say LAG is this things middle name!
If you play any fast paced game it will either lag or become blurry to give smoother playback, Im not too happy this thing costed me $100, fedels like it should have costed $40

[Q] Mhl to VGA for Tab S 10.5

Hi, I'm thinking of purchasing a Tab S 10.5 and also looking for an MHL to VGA adapter that works for the tab. Does anyone know of any that work?
The approach that I took was to get the Samsung MHL to HDMI adapter and then plug an HDMI to VGA adapter into that. The Belkin HDMI to VGA adapter (AV10145BT) works well.
I had first tried a Startech HD2VGAMICRO adapter but it would not work. I went to BestBuy and they let me try the Belkin adapter with my tablet and one of their monitors. It worked so I bought it.
Pete.

Hi - so you have this working? did you have to do anything special to get this working? like press buttons/settings on the Tab?
I brought the same adaptors as above and all I get is a blank screen! I then disconnected the HDMI-VGA part and tried using the MHL-HDMI into my PS screen and it still was blank

Just plugged it in and it worked. I tried it on several projectors and monitors. It worked on an old 1024x768 projector and various 1080p monitors and projectors.
There are several models of Samsung MHL to HDMI adapters. I have model # ET-H10FAUWESTA. That might make a difference.

i bought THIS one on Amazon and it works fine

I have successfully connected my Tab S 10.5 LTE to a VGA projector. I purchased a Samsung HDTV Adapter that was designed for the S4 phone. I plugged the micro usb connector into the Tab S. I then connected a generic HDMI to VGA converter to the HDTV adapter. The HDMI to VGA converter I purchased has an audio output jack so you can connect speakers. The adapter is able to get the audio directly from the HDMI port. One thing you need to know is that the HDTV Adapter requires you to plug in the power cable that comes with your tablet. You could also plug the USB cable into a battery pack if you want to make it truly portable. Good luck!

I went to a Samsung store and asked which HDMI adapter would work with a Tab S. They told me to use the HDTV Adapter that was designed for the Galaxy S4 phone (Model: ET-H10FAUWEGWW). I purchased the adapter at the shop and tried it on my Tab S. It works! I also plugged in a generic HDMI to VGA converter to it and was able to connect to a VGA projector. There is an audio output jack on the HDMI to VGA converter and it successfully sent the audio to the plugged-in speakers.

Using MHL Cable/Adapter to View Phone on HDTV

Hey, guys. So, my Dad has the Samsung Galaxy J3 Prime & would like to view movies and other content on his Samsung UHD HDTV. Knowing the phone doesn't have screen mirroring, and I have looked at a few options on the Play Store (pretty much all of them require a home wireless connection to work). He doesn't have Wi-Fi, so I've been trying to find a way he could connect the phone to the TV's HDMI input.
The problem is that a lot of the cables/adapters out there require a phone that's MHL certified, and as of yet I have been unable to determine whether this phone is certified for MHL. Has anyone here had any luck with using such hookups, and if so what is the connection medium & where was it purchased? Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Actually, I've seen MHL adapters on Amazon and MicroCenter.com that say they're compatible with the S4 and up. Is there any to mirror the phone on a HDTV, either wirelessly or by a cable, that work well?

Trust me thats a lie. I bought one myself and then i looked up what devices are actually compatible on the official mhl site. I also got the same device. Your phone has to have a special chip that allows an mhl cable to send the display to a tv. For some reason they stopped putting these chips in phones years back.
