Hello everyone, it's me again! I have successfully ported "Shendo OS" to Galaxy 3, so I hope you all will like it! This is based on CM7 Alpha 8.2, so big thanks to marcellusbe for porting CM7. If you liked it, please consider donating. A "Thanks" would be nice also!
Note: I'm not responsible if you bricked your phone! This ROM is still unstable, there are still bugs to be fixed! As you can see, there are still some images to be fixed in the staus bar, settings, and etc. This may take some time, so please don't ask for ETAs! I also need some testers, so feel free to post the result!

Download Flashing Tools and learn how to flash (Guide)
Flash "Cyanogenmod 7 (CM7)" alpha 8 or up
Download "Shendu OS" and copy it to your SD card
Install the .zip through CWM recovery
Wipe Data
Done!
How to update?
Skip step 2-3
If "Shendu Launcher" still force close, then try flashing Build 1, and then flash Build 2
Done!

Just flashed your rom and found 2 bugs. The status bar force closes when touch it. Also when you tap on the brightness in the settings menu, it force closes too.

Hey Guys
I'm sorry for creating another CM7 thread but I feel I needed to as this is neither a fix nor a port but a work in progress and it is a source build. I also needed a place to post all subsequent builds so that it would be easier for people to find and easier for me to update. If the mods feel that this should be closed then so be it, I will still continue my work on CM7.
Ok, with that out of the way I want to say first off that I am posting this in the spirit of WANTING people to contribute!! I cant build this on my own so if you feel that you can build it better and want to post it here then PLEASE DO SO! Just PM me and I will definitely put it up! I really want CM7 badly for this device and I know that others do too so any contributions will be extremely welcome! I need people who are prepared to help out with the bugs and to work with me in reaching a goal for CyanogenMod for our device. We are so close and we have talented people like Squadzone, Vivek and WhiteXp to thank for the tremendous headway we have made in the past few months. At the beginning of this year it was thought to be impossible by some to have a custom kernel for our device yet now we have options! WhiteXp is doing FANTASTIC work on achieving our gaol for a perfect kernel and for that I salute him. Obviously we have the likes of Repencis, Merruk, Savie and Infranbagus to say a BIG thank you to as well! Also a big thanks to all those I have forgot to mention
So now on to what I have so far:
1) Nano_Build 0.3(Beta) (Sound in this build is not working)
2) Nano_Build 0.3b(Beta) (Sound is fixed but patched thanks to one of Vivek's previous builds - still trying to figure out how to build it into source)
3) Nano_build 0.4(beta) (internet working (NOT wifi) - no need for internet_patch.zip)
4) Nano_Build(beta)0.63 (some minor improvements but bluetooth and wifi still not working! Only 3g)
Bugs? Hell yeah!!
What is working so far?
Auto rotation works better (no green screen)
internet (3G, EDGE) works
Colour is still swapped (screenshots below are deceiving) but it looks very good
Sound works
SD card is working nicely (although your pics wont show up in gallery but if you delete the Gallery3D.apk and install it as an app after installation it shows all of them, beats the crap out of me but that's how it is) All pics saved after installation shows.
Similar bugs as MadTeams build because they are both source builds but I am working on it and doing a lot of research into it. This is my first time devin with Android
Guys I am doing my best but this thing is really hard to get right. So stay tuned for further updates, and remember, I am not promising to give you CM7 but I am trying my best.
To install, use MadTeams method: (I use this method but might work another way)
-install merruk pre-2.0 kernel (Or WhiteXP's Kernel, your choice)
- go into recovery mode ...
-format system
-mount system
-install CM7
-wipe data
-reboot

We can't able to play 3d games in general mode with sound options enabled

Let me introduce myself. I'm jmotyka and im no developer, i am a graphic designer and android themer/enthusiast. I used to be a well known themer for the Nexus One and worked along side of Manup456. I have been out of the theming and developing seen for a while until now, i am very rusty. This is my first step into the android world again. I have many friends/devs that will help out when needed. I am a very busy man i dont have much time to develop, so please bare with me if i go on a multi-day hiatus. This rom is not and will not be my priority. I expect people to show some respect to me and others in this thread. If there is any sign of flamage in this thread rom development will immediately be halted and removed.

Everything as far as i can tell.
Not Working:
Dont know yet, but everything seems to be fine as of right now

Notes:
This rom actually comes from china. The only thing i did was change some build.prop stuff to get it functioning. To start off for some odd reason who ever developed the rom in china left the DPI to 310 and it looked horrible, so i set it to 213 which is the groupers standard dpi, it looked much better but the drop down notification window was getting cut off, so i decided to set it to 240 which looks great IMHO. This is by far not the final product. I am by no means a skilled developer but i am a tinkerer and if i run into issues usually i can fix them.
Important Notes
1)This rom for what ever reason has a recovery baked in. I recommend running cwm because cwm will let you SKIP the recovery flashing. I have not had time to remove this yet but i will. DONT ACCEPT THE RECOVERY FLASH BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW IF ITS OK OR NOT. I don't see why it would be a problem because this rom was developed for the N7.
2)I AM NOT TO BLAME IF YOU FLASH THIS AND YOU NEXUS 7 BLOWS UP. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED

Click the settings icon, slide the settins page to the left look for the keyboard icon in the menu click the keyboard icon, then the first line of chinese charachters will let you select english.

Anyone else flashed this yet? I was waiting for MIUI to become available before I rooted my Nexus 7.

Running great for me. I froze the dialer and the Chinese app store and its running smooth. Lock screen is huge and keyboard runs in phone mode, but I'm finding it easier to type on than stock.

Also I noticed in the first screenshot it says "No service" at the top left corner. Does it always say that? Can that be removed and/or edited? Thanks!
I am kind of reluctant to root my Nexus 7 because I don't know if I can still receive official Google updates on Android if I root it or if I can even unroot it.

Regarding your other concerns I would say go ahead and root. With the toolkits available it is very easy to flash back to stock, unroot, and relock the bootloader if needed.

But, I think I lost root.Rom manager hangs with error as does Titanium. I tried to get back to cwm but for the life of me I cannot boot back into it. If I could I would fix permissions there. But again. I may have lost root?
Fixed. Went to permission mgr and all seems to be good again.

If you need help with something such as default language english and all that stuff i can help out. Also you can change the size to stock by modding the services.jar and androidpolicy.jar file. Im going to expiriment a bit, thanks so much again.

This is still JB 4.1.2, since we're still building PA with a CM base. PA's new AOSP 4.2 base appears to be on the same 'jellybean' branch, which is why (I'm assuming) the version still went up to 3.00. I didn't change this, it was built that way from PA source.
Disclaimer: I do not claim to be a developer... However, by READING, SEARCHING, and TRYING, I've learned some tricks of the trade. One of them has been building from source. All I am doing is putting a few pieces together to make it compile, all the hard work has been done by h8rift and mg2195. Their repos, hard work, and dedication build this ROM - all thanks/credit goes to them as well as the CM and the PA teams. . I test these builds on my own device before any release, but I do not claim it will work for everyone. ALWAYS have a nandroid in case of emergencies. What is it?
PER-APP-DPI/LAYOUT. This is not tablet mode! Hybrid engine allows you to target apps individually. You get to pick their actual layouts which can tranform content drastically. Keep in mind, this has nothing to do with build.prop hacks or DPI changes. We list all layouts an app brings, you choose one, its as easy as that. It does not matter if your device runs itself in Phone-, Phablet or Tablet-UI, your apps will always look as you like. On top of that you can scale apps, to fit your screen, that way you can even bring full fledged tablet apps and make them run perfectly. Nothing will break, nothing will shrink, your market will be fine. Additionally we have rewritten many parts of the android framework and fixed countless of AOSP bugs to make way for these modifications - our "tablet mode" runs better on a phone than on a real tablet, that is guaranteed.
PER-APP-COLOR Paranoidandroids newest invention. Define apps in your regular hybrid panel. See your phone fade into the color definition of your current app, press home or go elsewhere and it fades back. Create as many combinations you like, you can even dabble with opacity. This feature is made possible by our hybrid engine, which is unique to this rom.

I know all of this sources you compiled this build from and unless you fixed ( which I doubt ) Thermal control is very, very likely not working properly or not working at all, this is really immature to rush things down like this to say the least
Be careful everyone excited with this build because it can literally burn your devices.

There are no Inits working nor is the Thermal Stuff working correctly, and the Device gets fast hot and can be rendered unusable !

Grow up. Put up your device tree and stop being a whiney little kid who wants to hold power over others through holding some source code back.
You should really take a long hard read about what open source is about before you start developing in the open source community.
