"Google" branded desktop stand for Nexus 4

I just spent 3 days at an annual client conference with our Google support team. Every year the Google reps bring cool swag for us to give away. This year they had these branded phone/tablet stands. As you'd probably guess they went like hot cakes but I made sure to snag a couple before the crowds had their pick. The design is extremely simple but works perfectly. One of the Google reps and myself spent some of our down time trying to see how much weight these things could handle. We were surprised to see how well it held up with 10lb objects.
It works perfectly with every phone we tried as well as the Nexus 7 and an iPad. I never thought I'd use a desktop stand but this works so well that I'll definitely use it at the office.

Oh, and for the record, even the Google reps were jealous that I got my hands on a Nexus 4. So feel special because this go around even the Google employees didn't get one. :highfive:

Cool. A drag that it's not available to everyone.

They were actually surprised when I told them that people would probably pay for these. I told them they should throw them up on the Google Play Store but they didn't think there would be any real demand.

Tons of companies were giving out this at CES. Obviously with a different brand name on it. There's a couple different ones, this style white/blue with the triangle style folding, also there's a more simple gray/black one that the stand rotates 360 onto itself so it's flat, I got that one.
I'm sure you can find these dang cheap on eBay.

Not to pooh pooh the excitement but these stands are pretty standard giveaways in the promotional swag world. I've got one myself but not "branded" with Google on it.

After using this one I'de definitely pay for one of those ebay ones. It's very simple and works great.

Found this website, looks like plenty other options and pretty cheap.
Don't know how much they charge for shipping on low qty. items.

Eh, you sure about that? It works just fine with a Distronic TPU case.

It's funny you should mention that. I was at a party a couple of weeks ago and this guy there was telling me he works at Google doing some Android stuff, so I pull out my phone. Then we head a super geek moment, talking Android and the Nexus 4, and he was saying how pretty much nobody at Google that he knows has the Nexus 4 and he has only seen his supervisor with one.

It probably doesn't work that way. If you already paid for it, and you didn't agree with them before of that, I doubt they would give you some money. If you didn't bought it yet, you can agree with them to do a review, and then you would get a discount (I'm just interpreting the email they sent to me).

Not crazy about the price but that one with the blue siding looks sick!

I've been.looking at the blue one. I decided it was worth the price. I paid $30 for neo hybrid and it feels good on phone but outside phone it feels cheap and it ain't gonna give me any protection and this one looks awesome.

Placed one on order. I originally ordered the Spigen Slim armor, but I feel this one will protect better. Also prefer the larger lip up front. Ill update with my experience when it comes in. Thanks for the link/info OP.

it looks nice, but if it's the same size as an otter, and the otter is rated for higher drops, why not just get an otter?

3M and face down drop, i'am definitely getting this one

Ordered from Cygnett last night, Shipping confirmation today.

Ordered the orange. Was torn between this and the Slim Armor but I feel that in the event of a drop, this one is going to offer the most protection out of the two and I'm a bit wary of the Slim Armor and the button issues I've seen mentioned a few times. I'll keep an eye out for more posts on that issue and maybe get a Slim Armor down the road.
So who's going to post a review of them dropping their phone from 10 feet to see if it protects as advertised?

Ok I bit on the orange. I am hoping not to buy 20 cases like I did on the GS3.
I want protective, grippy, good buttons, not too big, and looks nice. This should do the trick.

Krystal Genuine Sapphire Screen Protector for Nexus 4

Recently XGear recently their Krystal Genuine Sapphire Screen Protector for the Iphone 4 and 5.

What I would like to see is that they will also create this screen protector for the Nexus 4. The fact that XGear has already made certain protectors for the Nexus 4 makes them an excellent developer for this amazing screen protector.
They could create a kickstarter project for this nexus 4 and see how many people actually would want this screen protector.

let us know when u get it how it feels on the phone and maybe some pictures. I was reading about their Holy Grail Series and seems to be really good since it says its rated A9 in Mohs scale with A10 being diamond. I wan't to buy it but I'm afraid of how it plays with bumpers or cases like the Ringke Fusion.

I wouldn't mind using a used case that was used for reviewing. I would do the same if I had the chance to test out cases for others. I think it'd be nice if everyone did that so instead of just saying we like the case we can actually test it. you sir are a godsend to us goodluck everyone.
