Having moved to Atrix 2 from Atrix 4G I got some accessories left, namely the lapdock and cardock. I really liked the cardock feature of Atrix 4G (charging, audio out, an holding the securely and in my view) however Atrix 2 cardocks tend to be quite pricey (around $50) and since I could not get a decent price for my Atrix 4G cardock in in excellent condition I decided to modify my Atrix 4G cardock so it would work with Atrix 2.
First obstacle is that even though Atrix 4G and Atrix 2 are virtually the same width Atrix 2 is a little longer than Atrix 4G so it would not fit in the cradle,
Second, the USB plug had to be turned 180 deg (like on the 4G lapdock) to accommodate Atrix 2.
Long story short: it can be done, the Atrix 4G cardock has just a few screws in the back (one hidden in the center), taking the dock apart after carefully removing all screws requires just a little wriggling, flipping the USB port is not really difficult (its not attached) and you can use a rotary tool (Dremmel) to modify the inards of the cardock to accommodate the flipped USB plug and displaced wiring. Cutting off the piece of a plastic holder to accommodate Atrix 2 was even easier. Atrix 2 OTA ICS already contains the cardock app providing a simplified, convenient "no-fumble" interface that comes up automatically when the phone is inserted into the dock.
Obviously, Atrix 2 recognizes Atrix 4G cardock properly "out of the box".
The whole operation took just under an hour. The result is kind of crude (see pics below), however the dock does the job providing full functionality and the cost was minimal. Nothing to complain. I plan on eventually finishing the side of the dock that was shortened to provide more visually satisfying solution (Bondo and black paint maybe?), yet it is not really high on my priorities list . The most part is that the dock works 100%, even though it is shortened it securely holds the phone on my dash and I no longer have to fish for my phone under the seat.
Below you'll find the pics before and after the operation, I think they explain it all:

very similar to whats included with the tilt..its a non standard htc usb plug with an extended adapter on it which has on one side what looks like a normal headphone jack and a mini headphone jack and on the end has the usb..ive included a pic of it..im assuming this is standard accessory equipment included with the ATT FUZE sooo i was looking on ebay for a video out cable and came upon this
http://cgi.ebay.com/TOUCH-PRO-TV-VI...0|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318|301:1|293:1|294:50
and ive included a pic
but it looks like you can plug it into what i thought were audio jacks and achieve video out? because i have these cables laying around (from video cameras and stuff) and i tried them just now and i dont get any results..any ideas on how this is being pulled off?
The one on eBay is a modified dongle. And the guy probably did it using the thread found in xda-dev! I will bet you that! LOL! But, if you had searched, you would have found this thread here.
derrrrrrr..yah sorry about not searching..just thought it was interesting and found a makeshift on on ppcgeeks really didnt think about searching lol

Well Pazookie, good for you getting your Fuze as a replacement. Didn't cost you a cent. Congrats and I hope you enjoy it. As for the Bold, I brought that the day it came out and took it back the following day. LOL The screen is awesome but I guess I'm just that WM kinda guy. I hated the BB format espically for email and text messages. Again, that's me and I sure it's that I'm so used to the WM platform. I know many people that would give their arm before lossing their BB. LOL
Have a GREAT holiday my Firend.

thanks..merry christmas.//and about the fuze..i have never been more pleased with a device..it went above and beyond my expectations..i thought i was going to have to settle for less buttons and all that stuff but i have found the workarounds easier..i have found it to be more responsive and accurate as in screen taps and typing with the on screen SIP and pocketgba works again (on my tilt once wm6.1 came out that gba emulater stopped working). I LOVE this thing lol oh yah its built tuff too..i dropped it at work the other day (idiot coworker bear hugged me from behind thus flinging the fuze out of my hand). It hid concrete from about 4 feet and the back cover flew off and the battery popped off and only a smal scratch/paintsmudge on the bottom right corner (top half of device). Hope you have a great new year
Hi boys and girls!
I was planning on buying the new Diamond 2 as soon as it hit the shelves here in Norway, but as HTC still thinks I should pay for the repair of an USB port which was DOA I have decided to try to find some other phone...
So - anyone have any good suggestions?
Cheers!

I prefer the lime green casing myself, but that is personal preference, as is selecting a device or a type of wine.

@ Red: Thanks for the suggestion, but I find it too small for my liking. My three "musts" are:
1. The handset need to be sturdy. If i forget my hammer, I need something to hit other drivers with.
2. Must come with its own backpack, and the fabric must be washable.
3. I sometimes use the phone in my care, so the top part must be possible to detach from the battery. There just isn't space in my estate car to have the battery in the front.
My best bet til now is this model:

haha great response. With all honesty go with something a bit inexpensive in the meantime if you are waiting for TP2 to be released in your country.
Actually, I'd rather go for something NOT from HTC...
Go for Touch Pro 2 or Toshiba TG01
Or buy the new HTC Touch HD ...
Thanks for the suggestion. Will have to have a look at the Toshiba. As for HTC, I'd really like to stuff the aforementioned phone (the Ericsson) somewhere the sun don't shine. Unfortunately, I think I will have to use "most people" as a baseline for sun-exposure, as I have a feeling these guys (?) do a lot of "work" on all fours
I understand your reluctance to get a HTC again I for one have a HD which is actually really good although when i first brought one it had 3 dead pixels and although htc wouldnt replace it the shop i brought it from would, now after 3 months or so my replacement has just developed a stuck pixel which I have never seen before I've has so many products with lcd screens and worked in a shop for a bit that sold them and only ever seen them come with a dead/stuck pixel. its not really noticeable but very annoying considering the price of the phone. So I was thinking thats the last time i buy a htc but then I realized there isn't any 1 else who makes anything near as good in terms of features and looks.
my first choice would be the hd
go for the HD or a super processor snapdragon on the Toshiba TG01
Has anyone out there found a decent desktop cradle? I like to stand my phone up on the night stand while charging.
Got this one a few weeks ago for $8...worth it IMO, the quality and construction are both great esp for the price: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0126HG28I/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Any pics of it in the stand/connector/power cable etc? Thx Would be nice to have one at work to stand the phone up instead of it sitting on my notepad flat.
Maybe at home as a charge stand at night as well.
I bought one of these a while back when I had the wireless adapter for my M8.

*****UPDATE*******
This will NOT NOT NOT work with the A9. I sent it back to the seller with a rant. Obviously they didn't test it, the USB connection is 180 degrees out.

I use a cheap business card holder, it is black and mesh and my phones have all fit very well in it on their side.

The USB connector is turned around 180 degrees..WTF.
Anyway, can't find a desktop cradle worth beans anywhere. Pretty sad how the A9 support is so limited.

The problem is HTC don't make the charging in the middle but they keep moving the port in/out a little in the side from model to model. For example, the dock for m7 won't fit the m8, the dock for m8 won't fit the m9. While the dock for m9 has same width as the a9 but the port location is off just a little. If they would just put the freaking charging in the middle, we can use the dock from the m8 or m9.
This one would work if you don't mind the phone is off center: http://www.amazon.com/First2savvv-d...&qid=1455986552&sr=1-10&keywords=htc+one+dock
I used one of the dock for the M9 before and the problem is it disables the Quick Charge feature. It takes a long time to charge the phone. But I only tried one. If you have one that work with Quick Charger then please let me know.
Someone just need to make a dock where the charging port slides back and forth.
I love this mount... suction holds to dashboard or window like crazy... good build/quality... fits my Nexus 6P... true one-hand operation (in and out)...
But (there's always one... and I got two):
The major issue... the side grips sit on the volume button... and once in a while, they would silence my device w/o me noticing
The telescopic arm, when fully extended (which is why I bought it), makes the whole thing less stable (maybe with a lighter phone it will be less of an issue). This is not a huge deal, but an FYI.
Should you buy it? I still think it's a good option... and to avoid #1 above, you could place the device a bit higher in the cradle (so it doesn't touch the volume button). It works, but makes it a bit unstable.

I had the same problems as well. The new version seems to have fixed all the problems with the Nexus 6P and in general.
I got an email from them yesterday and they're currently having a 30% off sale on Amazon.
The promo code is UPGRADE3.

I don't see how it solves the problem. The side arms seems to be located in a place still "squeezing" the volume rocker.

The side arms on the newer version are lower on the phone now. You can adjust the bottom arm vertically to adjust the height.
This video shows that the 6P is compatible with the new Mount. I have no problems with the new version. The telescoping is about 1 inch shorter so if that's an important feature for you then the new version isn't for you.
I've posted it before several times, the One Touch 2 is easy to use if you just tilt it a little bit with your phone tilted the opposite way your buttons won't be squished. Even better, I got the one touch 3 last week and it completely avoids the buttons whatsoever. Really the best holder that they've made yet but the old arm from the two series was better and longer.
I have one of their other ones and it clips on the side but with my Supcase, it doesn't affect it.
I like their holder. Very strong and I've had it on for over a year (dirty suction cup) without any issues. I might pick up the new one because it extends and it looks to be a better fit for my truck.

This is awesome. Thank you for sharing that there is a 3rd generation mount.
Alright, I know I mentioned this in my other reviews, so here it is!
The Titan, aka THE BEAST!
Features 5 quick charge 2.0 ports for up to 90 watts and 10Amps of charging madness!
Look/Feel
First impressions were very good. The charger was packed well with itself and a power cord. Unfortunately it did not come with any usb cords like the other models. I am sure this is so they can keep it priced lower. I have a billion laying around now, so no bog deal. Like the others, the actual charger has a good sturdy feel and seems to be made well and out of quality materials. The black and green colors are nice to look at. It's even smaller than i imagined, so that's a plus for portability.
I have a family of five, so packing a bunch of chargers to go on trips is a pain. This IS the fix.
Performance
The two phones I own that accept quick charging immediately recognized the charger and indicated the phones were “Fast Charging” just like with the OEM units. I tried three different phones and using the Tronsmart voltage tester, I recorded the following volts/amps with the screen off.
- LG v10 :9.09V/1.24A
- Samsung Note 4:**8.97V/1.23A
- Moto Droid Mini:***5.30V/1.36A
So the charger with Volt IQ did a good job of recognizing the phone and applying an appropriate amount of power. The volts/amps fluctuated a bit, but were right about where they were with the dual port model I have. There are a lot of variables with apps running, sleep mode, and the v10's second screen always on. Still on par or better than the OEM model.
Overall impressions are excellent. It is well made, did not get hot, performs great and looks nice.I can't wait to take this beast on a trip and avoid all the clutter. I will probably pick up a handful of 1 ft ft usb cords to go along with it.
Amazon reviews are great on it as well. Take a look.
