Hi, recently I have noticed sth on my screen. Those spots are only visible on black background.
What is that?
I'm sending a photo

That is "normal" as in mine has it as well in the corner but it's not normal as in somewhere somehow someone pushed too hard on that section making the actual crystals too close to the actual back light. Mine is very unnoticeable though.

hello,
Are you satisfied with the tf300t screen quality? I think the black on mine is a little uneven with really faint lines when the screen is completely black.do you think it is normal?
thanks
It would be way better if it weren't for the large areas of light bleed around the edges and corners! Other than than, I'm satisfied.
I get loads of backlight bleeding on mine. The screen as a whole (including the glass surface) seems a step backward from the TF101.
I just started noticing light bleed on the left and right sides of mine. Nothing major, only really noticeable on the loading screen and to a lesser extent, my primarily black wallpaper (a style I tend to favor).
Other than that, I have no complaints. Although, if I fire up Angry Birds Space and put it right next to my girlfriends iPad 2, it definitely does not look quite as nice.

My old Prime had some noticable bleeding several places around the edges, but that was only visible when displaying black and at a high brightness.
I've always hated light bleeding, and also uneven black-levels, but I always get devices with these errors no matter what... I've had 6 different LCD-TV's, and every one of them has had various problems with light bleeding / uneven backlight / black levels - so i started to think it wasn't possible to get it perfect, and that it was only me who was being too demanding.
However, my TF300T seems perfect - guess I'm lucky with this one
I just bought this tablet and there is one spot (about the size of my thumb, in the lower left quadrant of the screen) that shows up lighter against a dark background-- for ex. when it's booting up.
It's bothering me but I haven't decided if I'll attempt to get it exchanged (I could get a worse one?).
well,I just found a tiny little dot on the screen. It doesn't seem to be a dead pixel but a tiny hole in the polarizer...
On my second device. Traded my 16 for a 32gbversion when they first released them. My 16 screen was perfect out of the box, no bleed, no dead pixels. My 32 looks like a shop light when booting but i don't notice it during use. Watch out,the screens scratch soooo easy. Definitely pick up a screen guard, this isn't gorilla glass.

i can confirm this as well although it doesn't bother me at all, the scratches are light so you don't see them when the screen is on. i'd rather have a few light scratches then a screen protector since i always get lint or dust stuck under the protector, even when i'm extra carefull and this bothers me more than scratches.

My screen can be used with nails and all sorts of cables and stuff just like a resistive, although its a capacitive touch screen.
Are you guys also able to do this?
I have never been able to do this with other capacitive screens

It should work with anything conductive. Or at least has a capacitance
Ok thanks thought i had something wrong but btw look at this photo...
This happens when im scrolling pages, seems like some sort of a dead spot on my screen or? And then in some cases get random presses on screen...

I really dont see what your talking about. Do you mean those lines that have breaks in the middle shouldnt? I know right after i put on a wet apply screen protector i had a similar problem but it goes away after a few hours to a day. Did you just put on a screen protector? If not i dont know what to tell you. It might be defective.

The line that i drawed should have been one same line but it doesnt and when i did go to a touch test app it didnt recognize any touches in that area and I do not have a screen protector this has happened once before and it has often worked after a reboot i will see tomorrow but i dont think this is still normal. Overall my tablet doesnt seem as snappy as everybody elses s i think im going to send it back to repair

In developer options in settings there is an option to show screen presses

What does that help in? I think this a software bug cause it goes away with a reboot.

I think its from using the nail rather than a regular stylus. That's was doing it to me, with a normal stylus it don't do it.

The line is drawed with my finger and not with my nail.

Just got my Infinity in and the screen looks great, however I can sometimes see a matrix of dots, especially when the screen is off. Is that the multitouch matrix?
Yes it is.

So this is perfectly normal? When the screen is lit, those grid of dots also barely visible.

Yes, it's normal. I see the dots only in bright ambient light.
Yes, this is perfectly normal. Without it you'd be using a mouse.
Every phone I've ever had since my HD2 has had these dots, it's just part of the capacitive screen.

So on the middle if the screen when I apply some force, I notice that it creates a rippling effect. Its similar to when you push hard enough on a calculator screen, it does the same effect. So is this normal or should I return it?

This will happen to any lcd/led/plasma screen. It is more noticeable near the middle on larger displays (than a phone) as the screen cover bends more easily there than around the edge.
Why would you apply force to a touch screen?
Well honestly, I didn't even apply too much force at all. I only noticed it while wiping it down with a cloth. So if this happens with every screen, this however, did not happen to my touchpad. But I'll just take your word for it...
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
No, just cleaning your screen (gently!) should not cause these rippling effects. Neither should normally applied force do. If that's the case, it's a defective one; return it.

Remember - Gorilla Glass 2 is much thinner that the original - so it would take less force to cause it to flex - maybe that's why you are seeing on the TF700 using the same amount of pressure (and didn't see it on the Playbook)... Assuming that the Playbook doens't also use Gorilla Glass 2 (I'm not sure)...
My recommendation would just not apply that much force when cleaning it!

I applied enough force on my screen (in the middle) to break a heavy duty plastic spoon (the big clear type) and don't have that.
Well, with that being said. I'll be exchanging the tablet for the fourth freaking time! I guess I'm just unlucky with this kind of stuff.

OK, thanks for that. It was like having that big red button with a sign saying 'do not press', just couldn't resist
So after reading your post I couldn't help myself. Pressed on the center of my screen a little harder than usual and sure enough, there's the ripple effect. Only, after trying it a couple more times it left behind almost like finger smudges under the glass.
Did you hear me swear and call you names
Anyway, after 1/2 a minute or so the smudges dispersed and I'm good again.
So I'll put my hand up to being a knob.... I pressed it
So who else couldn't resist?
Go on...Press it....Press it.......Press it.....
I pressed it Got the same ripple-effects described. But no finger-smudges under the screen..
About an inch in after the border of the tablet (left, top and bottom) there's a streak of some sort developing (about 1/4 inch thick) I noticed it when I started paying more attention to keeping my screen clean. Initially I thought it was a smudge from swiping the screen up and down but it won't go away after using a microfiber cloth, though it's hardly noticeable after cleaning . Then I began to think it was my folding cover for it since the line matches up sort of but then there should be one forming on the right side too (there isn't) and the streak goes about 2 inches past where the stitchlines go so it cant be that. It shows up when I fog my screen up, or after my screen gets a bit dirty.
Anyone notice this on their screens? I'm thinking it's heat induced from the tablet itself but I have no basis for that claim. It's sort of starting to bug me...

Have you tried to clean it with something other than just the cloth? Start with water.

A good splash.
Just kidding. The advice to just use a damp cloth with a little bit of detergent is sound, though. No surface is perfectly smooth, so you could have some external buildup pf grease. I do hope it is external, though. :fingers-crossed:

That's probably fluid from the LCD (inside the LCD). Nothing to worry about. You can see it more clearly when on a light background.
I've tried with water and moved my way up to windex / diluted alcohol in the past to no avail.

looking at my screen more closely I realized it is coming off the tablet slightly have to cause a problem with enough to cause this streaking which I believe from the person above said LCD liquid in between the screen and lcd crystals and that's what my streaking happened. these places Bend really easy and it will cause the screen to slightly come off of its place which has happened to mine also the power Slot binge easily where you slide the power USB cable and this is a known issue. If you slide your finger around the bezel you will feel the screen slightly raised more on one side then the other.
