Hello to all,
I'm new and I want to know what is the best rom 4.2, and if someone tells me step by step how to do
thank you very much.
No one can tell you the best ROM to use. Try them our for yourself and determine that by yourself. Each ROM has a step by step on how to flash the rom

Each rom is the outcome of developers hard work. The one rom which is best for me may not be best for you.
The general rule of xda is don't ask the question like which rom is best?
Solution is try by urself.
Hit me thanks if I helped you:good:

Like has been posted, "the best" is relative. Find the ROM that works best by trying them out.
As for a step by step: you well need to "rooted", and have recovery (CWM). All this can be searched, there are already many step by step guides around here.
Doing some searching and reading will be the most beneficial thing to do. Welcome, have fun!!!

Hello everyone this is my first time starting a thread on this forum so hello, anyways I just switched form iPhone to the Skyrocket, and am enjoying it, I switched because I wanted something to make my own and android seemed the route to go. Anyways, I just wanted some input on rooting and what the best ways to do so on a Mac. A couple months ago I rooted a EVO for a friend so I have some knowledge, but would still like some input and any tips that I could get.
-Thanks

If this is a repeat thread I'm sorry

Welcome to ROcket world man. I switched from iPhone too but i had i777 for like 2 weeks and than i727. You must read this once so you know what we are talking about. Its all in one noob guide. And make sure to flash t989 cwm through rom manager. Don't flash anything else unless it says it will work with i727. T-mobile SGS2 aka t989 is very similar to our phone so mostly everything there you can flash except kernel. Because with t989 kernel you will get rotation issue. Let us know if you got any question.

Thanks for the info it was really useful. I had a question though, The last part after, Flashing the kernel. Is that to complete the whole process or is that if you had any problems, and needed to go back to stock. Sorry if thats a noob question, but I just want to make sure.
-Thanks

maybe it's better to have a rooted phone for this.. I've never tried to make that with an unrooted phone.. I also had problems with that kind of update.. try with another file or make the root and put on it what you want

Good morning. Let me try to help you out... There are a ton of detailed instructions in the forum for your device. Below I am giving you the link to the General forum. Check out the thread titles to find the things you're looking for, and definitely read the stickies at the top of the forum. Nobody is going to retype everything that's already right there, but there are helpful people who will answer questions if you have them after reading the guides for yourself first. Check 'em out:

If you haven't rooted the device and it has Android on it then you are on the stock ROM right now. So, follow any of the guides written out for your device (link above), which will tell you how to first root the device, then to install something called Clockworkmod Recovery ("CWM" it will be called), and then to make a backup of your stock ROM ("nandroid" it will be called). From that point you can read more about custom ROMs and start to have fun. Read first though, trust me. It's worth the time to make sure you don't brick the thing by doing something you shouldn't have.
Enjoy.
thanks a lot friend i ll try it for sure

I don't know what a root file is, but if you go to that forum all the root guides and links are stickies. Thank you so much. I needed that. Lol. You literally just quoted the answer to your own question. Like, someone asked a question, I answered it (last summer lol), then you quoted my answer to ask the same question. Oh, this made my day. Thank you... lol.
In case that's unclear... my answer to your question is the answer you quoted. Ah, I love it. Cheers, mate. I don't mean this as rude, it's just hysterically awesome. :good:
you can find it on galaxy s2 subforum for custom rom, custom recovery and root tools
if you have installed the custom recovery and root, do a nandroid back up of your current ROM (system, boot, data) in case you want to go back to your old rom

*Yeah right...you cannot insult people and then saying 'no mean to insult'. Just letting you know smartypants... I dont say this to insult you...as you say
Thread given in link was far to complicated and needed TO MUCH search (my opinion). I found the file to another thread. By saying root file I mean the file I need to root my phone. I found a file called SU or smthng like that. Thank you though mate.
