I cant seem to install any APK's from SD storage.
Just says not installed.
Are there anyways round this?
Have you enabled 'unkown sources' in the settings?
If its enabled, try disabling it and enable it again.

I have enabled unknown sources and no luck, but i will try disabling and re-enabling again to see if that works.
Thanks for the help.
Disabled and re-enabled unknown sources, Didn't work.
If I move the APK to system\app and changed the permissions to whatever they are supposed to be would that work?
Yes. You could also move them to /data/apps/, thats the normal installation location.

Great.. Weird that you cant install them the normal way though...
Just a thought, do they have any uncommon characters in their name? Like brackets or '&' etc?

Ok so here is flash 11 which works with hulu by tricking it that the flash player is a desktop version. This mod is 100% the work of Vgeezy from thrive forums. i am just reposting it here.
Instructions:
1) Download the apk
2) Uninstall flash on the transformer
3) Install apk
4) Set user agent in browser to desktop (open browser-setting-advanced-user agent string- desktop)
5) Go to www.hulu.com and enjoy!
If these instructions dont work try this: (Credit Cowballz69)
1) Set flash to always on on the browser
2) Disable pictures to make sure you boot original flash in market (browser-settings-advanced-uncheck display pictures)
3) Play any flash video with original flash app
4) Uninstall flash from market
5) Install modded flash.apk
6) play any hulu video now
If your flash settings are set to on demand u must scroll down and click the green arrow on the right next to "share this video" to enable the flash. otherwise u can keep flash on always on in settings. (i hate flash ads so i keep on on-demand)
For a frame rate boost u can go to browser-settings-advanced-and uncheck load images (thanks cowballz69)
also if u want an easier ui to access vids some ppl prefer http://www.hulu.com/widget/player but i think that is better suited for smaller phone screen
if u are having problems and it doesn't work make sure you have the new 10.3 installed from market, install the modded apk over top of that then uninstall Flash again and then install the modded apk. (Thanks MonsterAndroid)
No luck here. Maybe I'm doin it wrong.

What is the error it gives u? Does it say platform not supported? or it needs higher version of flash?
works perfect. However please add this to instructions *must switch flash from on demand to always on

Ok will add tidbit about ondemand and pictures off as options. But u can still use with ondemand there is a little arrow next to share this video that allows u to turn on flash for those that hate to keep it always on to avoid pesky flash ads.
Does not work for me. Says hulu is not supported on my platform. Do i need root? I just tried installling on top of 10.3,it says not installed. Then i uninstalled 10.3 and used file manager to pull up the downloaded file and installed it. No luck.

try uninstalling the modded version again. reinstall the market version. then uninstall market version and try installing the modded version. Let me know if that works.
Make sure you hit all the x's on the tabs to close out of the browser ... you cant just hit the back button to exit, that will just put it in the background processes ... remember that. Once you come back in it should work.

I did this about 5 different times with no luck. One time my TF froze and i had to hard reboot. Then i decided to switch flash to ondemand, it had been on always previously. Dont ask why i did it, I just had a haunch. Anyways, it works now. I am not sure if it finally took or if changing the option made it work, but it works now. Thx.

Not sure why its working for some and not for others. Maybe for those who are having problems post what software build version u are using. I am on the 0423 build so maybe people who are on old firmware are having problems.
If u post as much specific detail about what the problem is and how ur device is set up maybe we can figure out a solution.
i'm on 8.2.3.9-20110423
I had flash 10.2 installed. put flash 10.3_hulu into a folder on my transformer.
uninstalled flash 10.2, then used Ghost Commander to locate the 10.3 & install it.
tried the stock browser, with the user agent set to Desktop... didnt work.
tried Dolphin HD with user agent set to desktop... didnt work.
rebooted. tried both again. didnt work.
uninstalled 10.3_hulu. rebooted. installed 10.3 (marketplace version). then uninstalled it. then re-stalled the hacked version. rebooted. tried both stock & dolphin. nothing. changed dolphin's plug-in settings from "always on" to "on demand." still nothing.
got angry. cursed out friends on xboxlive because I can. made angry post on xda forum. relived the horror all over again by typing this post
just tried installed the hacked one over the standard one. still doesnt work. uninstalled then installed hacked on again. still nothing.
Only way I was able to get it to work was by setting plug in to On Demand.
Got it to work on mine. Downloaded the .apk file and ran it from file manager. Failed to install first time. Uninstalled the stock version then reran the modded one. Installation completed then. Had to drop the show resolution down to 480. 720 was a bit to choppy. Biggest problem right now, is that the Hulu screen wasn't intended for a touchscreen interface.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using XDA Premium App
got it to work on mine but its laggy when its running on full screen.
Mine wasn't working with the apk from the older post...I kept getting the "unsupported on your platform" message right when I got into Hulu.com.
When I loaded this apk and followed the steps...I got all the way to choosing and watching a vid before I got that message....
but still no joy.
I installed [ROM][GT-P51XX][4.0.4] CyanogenMod 9 on my 5113 following the instructions and downloads on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722099 and everything is going great, except I cannot install samsungapps.apk.
I tried copying the file to /System/Apps and rebooting, and when I attempt to launch it, I am informed that it is not installed.
I assume this is because build.prop is modified, but I see that it shows Samsung for manufacturer, and P5113 for the model, so I am unsure what I need to change?
I have also wiped caches and retires, and finally, reinstalled CM9 without GAPPS, done a factory reset, and tried the install.
Has anyone gotten samsungapps.apk to install?
Thanks

Hi,
I went through the same flash process of CyanogenMod 9 on my GT-P5113. The version works smooth, what I like, but it turned out that I am not able to download anything from internet, cannot load any apps from Google Play (it load them infinitely), Youtube page displays but does not want to load/launch video (it load them infinitely), gmail cannot save attachments. Could be there is something wrong with write rights to droid.
My internet connection is fine, browser on Tab works fine, gmail works and google play works. The problem is: no download saving to droid is possible.
The I tried to restore to my previous system via CWM-based Recovery 5.5.0.4 and it is not possible to make any (advanced) restore, the report is: MD5 mismatch.
Then I tried to flash to other custom ROMs namely Tab210CleanROM V1 then v1.1 and the finally to Infected ROM V1, none of them would start. Sure I followed all the procedures. All these ROMs got stacked after boot at Samsung window.
I flashed my Pad 2 with p5110 stock ROM P5110ZSLD5_OZSALD5_BRI_Taiwan_Android_4.0.3 as suggested on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722745. Flash worked, but I only used PDA option to flash.
Downloading Issue with Google Play and Youtube remains.
How to solve saving to droid issue, so I would be able to download and install apps?
Thanks, Ian

It turns out you need the touchwiz framework at least, which is not supported under CM9. I went back to the stock Taiwanese rom, and then to 4.0.4 when it came out.

I hope this can solve my problem too.

So I spent a lot of time trying to get this working, and I finally did and I figured I'd share how I did it. It works for me, and a user of Google + confirmed it too. It's pretty simple. Thanks to Dustin Evans on Google+ (https://plus.google.com/u/0/108019745978944993252/posts) and XDA user garner.
first, find your build.prop in /system. Please use Root Explorer, I'm not sure if other file browsers save it correctly. Mount Read/Write and long press on build.prop and hit "Open in text editor".
Change the following lines to look like this:
ro.product.model=SPH-L710
ro.product.name=d2spr
ro.product.device=d2spr
reboot after.
after that head here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1965895 and download the wallet apk. (not all the gapps, just the wallet apk). It should work!
Im running cm 10.1 but it also worked on cm 10.
also this is my first post, feedback?
EDIT: I know that there are other posts describing how to do this but I found that they either didn't work for me or involved more complex steps. I'm sharing this because i found it to be easier and completely successful.
You should have used the search function on here. Would have saved you tons of time trying to get it to work. Also you should be able to download the apk from the market once you change these settings inyour build.prop file as well.

thanks, but i knew that. i dont think you can just download it, as i did that and it didnt work so well. i know there are other methods, but those are sketchy and involve flashing a new recovery (the all in one installer). this is a more clean way that i got it to work.
just trying to share my experience
also this does not involve flashing anything
Nope, i changed the build.prop file, rebooted and it showed up in the market. Installed it and it works perfectly. The method i mentioned did say you to flash stuff, but that's with the touchwiz based roms. But it also does say pretty much do what you have said as well.
Insufficient privleges
I changed the build prop like shown and was able to download. But when app is ran it states that I have insufficient privileges for this system image. I am just running a rooted image of stock do I need to flash a new rom for it to work?

UPDATE: If you have the T-Mobile SM-N920T with TWRP installed, then you can just install my new rom from here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=72098300
It reroots your device while installing the newest version of the S8 launcher, SuperSU & a super debloated version of the brand new Nougat firmware.
-----------
Hey guys! Here is the new launcher from the Galaxy S8. It's by far the best TouchWiz UI yet, with many improvements and with a slightly different interface. Not to mention that it's just really clean in appearance.
To Install:
1) Backup your current TW launcher as this will overwrite it.
2) Download the "TWS8.apk" below & install it.
That's it. Easy!
Error Fixes:
"The package conflicts with an existing package by the same name."
(CONFIRMED)https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=71850074
"Parse Error: There was a problem parsing the package."
(NOT YET CONFIRMED)https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=71674744
NOTE: This TW is totally different, so you will start with a blank page. You need only swipe up or down to see your app tray or just touch and hold like usual to set widgets or apps on Home Screen. See images below for more features.
NOTE 2: Your app icons and background will look slightly different than mine as I'm running the "PixelizeD" theme from the theme store. I'm using a different font too.
Please be sure to hit the "Thanks" or Donate button if you like it!

Hmm...Strange. I see it says that it conflicts with your current TouchWiz version for some reason.
My suggestion would be to:
1) Backup your device in recovery.
2) Install a backup launcher(like Nova Launcher) from the Play Store.
3) Download "System App Remover (ROOT)" from the Play Store and completely uninstall your current TouchWiz.
4) Try installing the TWS8.apk. (Use the "APK Manager" in "System App Remover (ROOT) to install it if it still won't install on it's own.)
Note: This all assumes you're rooted of course.
If it still doesn't work after that then, then either your variant of the Note 5(if running stock) or perhaps even whatever rom you're running may have some unusual configuration that renders it incompatible.
Try to wipe data of your actual TW in apps before installing it.

It should update whatever TouchWiz you have, unless your service provider heavily tweaked it in some way. 874 downloads in the the last 24 hours and I imagine that a lot of them had Marshmallow. Maybe try my suggestion in the 3rd post above if you're having trouble.

In short, it either works or it doesn't. For those it doesn't work for though it would seem you are in the minority. To determine more than that I would probably need to start receiving A LOT more information from people who are having trouble, like:
- What is the specific error you are getting when trying to install the apk?
- What is your device model #?
- What version of TouchWiz does it say you currently have in "Application Info"?
- Are you on Nougat or Marshmallow?
- Are you rooted or not?
- Are you on stock firmware or a custom rom(and which one)?
- Is your rom TouchWiz based or is it AOSP, CM, Lineage, etc.?
- Have you tried installing the apk with a system app installer/uninstaller(like the one I mentioned in the 3rd post above)?

APK Manager shouldn't be blank. Did you give the app root permissions? Maybe try moving the apk to the Downloads folder if it's not already. If it's blank it would just mean that the app is not finding your APK most likely.
What is the error you are getting when you are trying to install the APK normally btw? Is it the "package conflicts with an existing package of the same name" one. If so, then it may be the version of TouchWiz in your rom or something in your roms configuration that's preventing the update. Might need to try flashing a different rom if nothing works and you can't get it to install. I think it's worth it personally. The new TouchWiz is pretty awesome and integrates nicely with most Note 5, TW based, roms.
I had the apk in both download and root of my sdcard. The app has root permission i used it to uninstall the original tw home. Thanks I'll try it on another rom

This is a completely different error than they were having. Though if it's saying there's a conflicting package installed, then uninstalling and reinstalling, as I suggested in post 3 should maybe fix that, but you would need root.
The video you posted is difficult to tell what's going on, but the basic idea I got out of it was to try installing it right away on startup before the device knows what you're doing by changing your lock screen to swipe and placing a shortcut to the apk on the desktop for quick access after reboot, trying again and again after reboot until it works. Does this actually work for anyone?
@Vishnu pv You were having the same problem. Did you want to try this? [emoji14]

[emoji14]

I did also some s8 apps from apk mirror by this same method and succeeded

I can't install the google camera apk, it says there is a conflicting package, but google camera is not installed on my phone :/
I've tried looking for it in the settings/apps and with tools like titanium backup
I also tried adb shell pm list packages, not there!
but I can't install it! help!

It is actually warez and is not allowed to even be talked about on XDA. Should a mod come across this topic, both of your replies will be deleted for even mentioning it.

oh I see, I had no idea! I won't be looking into it.
but it there a good tool that can fix glitched packages? my system thinks com.google.android.GoogleCamera is installed but I can't find it anywhere and any install of it is blocked x'D
for now I installed a modded one I found on xda that let's you have older + latest 4.2 with modified package name com.google.android.GoogleCameraMOD and it's working....
Are you on Pure Nexus, by chance? I know you're not stock since you mentioned 7.1.2. If you're using that ROM, in the download section underneath the ROM and gapps, there's a camera fix zip and you need to flash that as well. @GizmoTheGreen
