[APP REVIEWS] Temple Run

Ok so recently temple run was released on the awesome android play store, but are we still happy or are we bored of it? well im gonna do this app review to show you pros and cons...
PROs
. The Game has stunning Graphics even on a single core 1.0 Ghz device (Nexus s)
. This Sort of game is not the first of it's kind but defiantly the best!
CONs
. The Graphics being 3d give a slight bit of lag on lower end devices but a high end device such as nexus s gives amazing improvment
. Multiplayer version should come where two players are running from the evil temple monkeys
Other than that i Love the game and Rate it a 4.5/5
Simply cause i think they should add more modes

UPDATE (sorry for long waiting, I was in holiday-house): 29.07.2012 - for now this game dissapeared without any information from Square Enix.....I don't know why, so Moderator - please close this thread for now, maybe something will change, but it's preety strange that the exclusive game, working good etc., one moment and it's gone.
UPDATE 30.07.2012: And what next? After one day of last update there is again! The game appeared again on Play Store, get it before Square Enix delete it again without any info . Yeah we heard this was still coming and found it on store few hours ago. Does not play bad for £0.99 full Touch pad support but could be better looking. This game was to be released last year so understand its not up to date quality. Still Tomb Raider of sorts on Android so cant be a bad thing

I'm having trouble downloading this. Went really well up to 28% and now it's stuck and won't go any further.
Anybody having a problem ?

Looks like Square is finally going all-in with Android. God, I can already see me playing Chrono Trigger in all its remastered glory on the XP!

Any good?

Yep, got the same message. T-Mobile USA. Android 4.0.3

It's working fine in the UK on my r800i but some videos were "missing". Graphics are ok too (not console quality) and game plays quite well.

Yeah same here I've got the r800i as well. I got a error message about videos but the game runs fine. It's enjoyable !

Awesome find! I just started playing it and finished the first level and it seems like a really solid game (never played it on iOS or 360 since I hate both mediums), my only complaint would be a pretty slow frame-rate (maybe its running at 30? Or a little bit lower) but the frame-rate is consistent and I got used to it very quickly. Also, when pressing X to skip a tip screen or tutorial bit my character jumped which was irritating but now I just press the screen to end a tip.

This game is exclusive for Sony Xperia devices !

Who said the Xperia PLAY was dead ?

I got it as well, Pretty good, had a couple hiccups while playing but nothing too bad. Graphics are ok, but I've seen much better on this device. Videos work find for me, and you really can't beat the price at only $1.29! Overall I'd say its a definite buy!

Glad I didn't buy it in the Steam summer sale! Loved the PS3 version, can't wait to try it on my phone!

It is basically the same game with some new cars, tracks, and features. They prompt you to pay for advantages (like speed boost) and things like that, paid for by in game cash, which can be earned through playing or using IAP to get ahead. As for how it runs, when theres no cars on screen its smooth, but once I caught some it got jerky. Controls work great and I hadn't rebooted my phone for a while, but it just doesn't run all that great. Will keep trying.

Well, 99c (USA) is not bad at all even if it is just an advanced remake. I'm downloading now xD. Thanks for this useful post.

Downloaded it at work. Got a sick connection at the studio! This game is definitely better than Asphalt 6. It's a lot more polished, the tracks have been well thought out and overall there's just a lot more variety. They've even squeezed in an homage to the Fast Five 'Rio' track. For anyone who has increased their ram and over-clocked their cpu sufficiently the game will run like butter

That`s the additional data which is stored on the SD card, not internal.

OK that makes sense. Every other game has the internal memory consumption in the description though. So i got confused.

bought and played 3 races.
Controls work great , i like the dpad way more than the touch pads for this game.
Game has no "ram" lag whatsoever , framerate isnt 60fps and it does occasionally drop , but never to the point where it renders the game unplayable.
Overall i think it runs great

Just got my S3 yesterday. I am already rocking CleanRom and CleanKernel on my phone and I am wondering what would be great game to showcase the gorgeous hd screen on this phone and all the processing power?

Good question. I too am looking for a game to see if my S3 can handle the awesomeness. Currently, the only game fun enough to play is Jetpack Joyride.. Haha. Good luck. Ill check back to see if anyone else has any other opinions.

I just picked up Gears & Guts today and i have to say, it is pretty damn entertaining. Definitely a fun take on the zombie genre.

How are you playing jetpack joyride? I can't find it anywhere.

Gta3 using sixaxis ps3 remote just kills it when showcasing what a bad mofo phone u got.... Batman, nova3,mass effectis has some nice gfx, specially the cut scenes... Enjoy

I am loving Sega's Virtua Tennis. It looks great and is really fun to play. If anyone has the game or plans on buying it, make sure to go into the settings and change the default controls to arcade. Makes the game much better to play with the on screen buttons and joystick then the swiping and touch controls.

Dead trigger is awesome, played street fighter 4hd, once threw onlive those games are awesome.shadowgun is also ok.

Dead Trigger with the Tegra graphics enabled is pretty hard to beat for visual quality, imho.

I've been meaning to purchase NOVA 3 for the last month but there are bad reviews for it by GSIII users. It always seems like Gameloft games receive quite a few negative ratings for our phones.

I'll wait untill they get it on 99p sale or something like that..expected better graphics, looks almost like mc4 which still is a good game.

Expected better graphics, looks like their marketing and photoshoped images did the trick. Performance of the game is also very poor, can't image why it lags on one of the best chipsets atm, I guess not optimazed as well.

Imho this should have been much better game

Its probably only available for the devices which have the specific GPU or CPU idk just like on modern comvat4 if you play on an low end device you need to use an app glconfig I believed where you can adjust the game a bit when starting up and manipulate the game to contain that option.

yes i know that, and like, when i use shield on gltools we get really good graphics but we get no effects "dof, particles, and many others", and when you decompile the apk, there's a file which controls the "graphic" for a device specfic, and under "100" (best graphics I think) we can find "LG GFlex", but it's like okay, i really enjoy the game

It seems like its kinda like dead trigger, no offense to gameloft but i hate the mission type on this one. I prefer MC4 a lot wherein you can engage to mission battle continously unlike this one each part need to load and load. Maybe to prevent hacking or cheating.

The update from today enabled the graphic options we were missing before, runs smoothly on best graphic option.

I've updated it, but I can't see the best graphics option, I get only optimal
Update : Got it after force closing the apk and clearing cache

Mine is like hell after 2-5 min in the game.
I have moga pro and sensitivity is crap :/

My G2 is also similar in that it usually heats up around 5-7 min ingame. It can get pretty hot but never took me out of the game. And I never really got on the moga band wagon, is it worth it?
