Are you able to boot into bootloader (fastboot) via Vol-UP+Power combo?
You may have to re-flash recovery and go from there.

Hello,
I had a rooted verizon galaxy s3 (CM10) and I recently got stuck in a boot loop. So I connected to Odin and flashed both MD5 files and the root66.tar file, booted into recovery and tried to do a factory reset.
The problem is my power button won't work in recovery mode, so I can not select anything in the menu. The volume buttons work I just cant select anything.
I've searched all over for 2 days now and I can't find anything about my problem, am I screwed or is there something I haven't thought of yet?
Thanks preemptively for the help.
bump please help
Maybe possible to send commands to phone via adb?

Which recovery you are using? Try twrp which recognises touch so no need of power button to select any option. I think class cwm also has touch based recovery.
Thanks doesn't hurt....
Thanks for the replies, I tried to run adb but just runs a lot of code then closes out. I tried to re-download and the same thing happened.
I was using the stock.vzw.root66.tar and BOOTLOADER_I535VRALF2.... I flashed them many times and nothing has changed it still just gets stuck on the 4G LTE screen. Where would I go about finding the recovery files you mentioned? I'm willing to try anything at this point.
Thanks again for the replies.

If it's stuck at the LTE logo, boot into recovery and factory reset.
Edit: to Odin flash CWM or TWRP, you can find both files in Open1your1eyes0's root thread in the dev section. Use either once you're rooted.

If you just want this to be fixed quickly, you could always flash a Full-wipe rom that contains the bootloader, etc. Then after your back in the stock rom you could always re-unlock the bootloader, install custom recovery , re-root and flash whatever rom you wanted.

Thanks for the replies, I've searched the internet for a full-wipe rom and I cannot seem to find one, can you point me in the right direction?
Also sorry for the delayed response, I actually graduated college yesterday.
EDIT: Now I can't get the phone to boot into download mode or recovery mode, the Samsung logo comes up and the screen goes black. I'm pretty sure my phone is ****ed.
What was the last change you made? Also are you using the oem cable? Also, heres the link scroll down to section 5. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762709

Hello XDA! New member here with a huge problem.
So I recently flashed Helly Bean 4.2.2 onto my Nexus S 4G and it was great, really fast! But for some reason, when my phone died and I powered it back on, it was stuck at the boot animation. I still cannot get passed it. Now I know an issue like this can be solved through the recovery (I use TWRP) but some months ago, my power button messed up. It's as if it's always in the pushed in position even though it isn't, it still clicks like the first day i got it. My phone automatically boots up when i connect my charger or put a charged battery in. I can get into fastboot mode but due to messed up power button, I can't scroll down to the recover option and even if i could, I wouldn't be able to execute it. So that's my problem, I'm stuck at the boot animation, and I'm stuck at the fastboot menu. Is there anyway I can reset factor settings/flash another rom/ or even revert back to stock and unroot from fastboot using some program?? I'd prefer not to lose anything on my SD card though, but if it has to be done then so be it. ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
first.. did you eneble Usb debuging when you had a working rom..?? If yes then you should try this while you have the boot loop to get into recovery.. you could then make a factory reset and you should be fine.. I hope this helps you..

I did have USB-debugging on, always do. I've tried booting into recovery using the quick tools but all it says "booting into recovery" and nothing happens. My phone just stays on the boot animation
Thanks anyway though!

Hi,
I got a Nexus 5 about 40 days back. The phone randomly switched off a few times. I performed a factory reset as suggested by the Google Support team and other forum posts here. Yesterday, the phone switched off. On going into the bootloader, I am able to view the different options. On selecting recovery mode, it just goes to a blank screen.
The phone is not rooted.
Please help me out.

Thanks for helping me out,
I did the steps as mentioned in the guide, but ran into a problem while unlocking the bootloader.
After entering the command, "fastboot oem unlock" the bootloader gets unlocked.
But on entering the next command, "fastboot reboot" it goes back to unlocked state.
How do I proceed?
thanks again
you said it went from unlocked to unlocked? did you mean goes back to locked?

Well it seems that I have bricked or caused a bootloop on my brothers Moto G. I followed the steps carefully to unlock ghe bootloader from Motorola's site and afterwards I can't get it to boot. I've been searching for quite some time and I keep seeing suggestions to go into recovery and factory reset. Problem is it doesn't go into recovery once I select from oot loader mode. Stays on a black screen with Andy laying on his back, opened with the infamous red triangle with and exclamation on it. I'm guessing there's no recovery? Also tried flashing stock recovery with the Moto Tool this morning and still nothing. Has anyone had a similar issue and resolved it or have any suggestions that I could attempt? Would be greatly appreciated.

thank you so much for your help.somehow i got it back up and running
Had the same happen to me. It didn't want to go into recovery gave a message it failed. With some patience I manged to get the button combo to work for fastboot then did a flash-all of the factory image. I think the trick was it had to be plugged in to get to download mode and I think you may hit the power button slightly before the volume down. It was a bit tedious. I tried to recover the boot.img and that trashed things up worse, got no google loading logo or something odd. Anyhow flashing the full factory image fixed things!
Glad you got it resolved, maybe this helps someone else in the same spot.
