[Q] Errors after flashing PACman v20.0.1 - HTC Desire S

hello. The problem I'm having is that right after flashing and first loading the ROM PACman v20.0.1 an unending barrage of force close messages flood me (the process com.android.phone has stopped and Unfortunately system UI has stopped), and there's no signal.
please let me know how i can fix this.
ps. have performed multiple factory resets, wipe cache+dalvik before flashing the rom everytime
ROOTED HTC DESIRE S & S-ON
HBOOT 2.02.0002
4EXT RECOVERY TOUCH V1.0.0.5 RC9

is a chance that the ROM wasn't installed properly, or may not have followed all the steps
you can try another Rom

What hboot do you have, and what roms worked for you? Did you flash? the boot.img
And don't hijack other people's threads for your issues, they might not be the same and it can lead to confusion. There is a help thread specifically to avoid this issue. Could we move this to that thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2143855

You have a non SONY panel.
Non-Sony screen panel Desire S users lounge
If you flash the v19.3 you won't get pass on HTC bootscreen but on v20.0.1 you can boot but most apps will FC.
If you install 20.0.1 base on the instruction on "Non-Sony screen panel Desire S users lounge" you can have a fully working HTC SAGA running PACman ROM v20.0.1 BUT you won't have a brightness controll. Brightness is always at max.

I allways do full wipe, factory reset and format all partitions except sdcard. Also tried flash boot.img from working v19.
My info: Desire Saga, S-ON unlocked, H-BOOT 2.00.0002, Recovery v2.2.7 RC5.

I wasn't answering your question, but if it didn't work for you, I can't help you. Formatting all partitions except SD helps me always.

Same problem
I got the exact same problem. UI stopped working and the phone.android.com. There were no problems with the 19.3 version of PAC-man. Before I tried PAC-man 19.3 i tried a couble of other JellyBean roms and there were programs that stopped working with all of them. Is it my HBOOT version or RADIO that makes the problem?
I format and wipe everything every time I try a new ROM, so that should not be the problem either.
Here are the information from my Bootloader
***Uncloked***
SAGA PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT 2.02.0002
RADIO-3831.19.00.110
eMMC-boot

A solution
Okay so I have solved the problem on my phone. I downgraded the HBOOT to 0.89.000 (Shout out to these guys http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183380) Afterwards I flashed the Radio to match the one that is recommended for the PACman rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1672537).
When I then installed the rom once more there were no problems and everything worked

[Q] Can somebody help me (re: flashing ICS)

Hello guys, i'm new to the whole flashing thing.
basically.. i want to have ICS on my device, so i figured if i flash
"InsertCoin 4.0.3 IceCreamSandwich Sense 3.5 BEATS | EPIC"
I'd get it right, BUT..
my bootloader is S-On, what if i need to return it under warranty, how easy is it to fix it back so HTC don't know, and can someone run me through flashing that particular rom?
Is this all i need?
Read this, it contains all the instructions you need: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192300
I recommend that you use ARDH 5.0.2 - the links below contains all the info you need, on how to gain s-off and flash the rom.
Guide to S-off, Installing ClockWork, PermRoot, SuperCID & Flashing http://tinyurl.com/3vd9dgg
ARDH 5.0.2 ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14192842&postcount=4
Just be sure to follow the instructions, and do not hurry it!
Device: HTC Sensation - S-off - Rooted - 32Gb sd
ROM: ARHD 5.0.2 ICS + no-sense
Kernel: Stock
Radio: 10.58.9035.00U_10.15.9035.02_2
Recovery: 4Ext Touch
Right i flashed the leaked one with sense:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1403859
It seems to be stuck on the android boot logo, its been stuck like that for like 10/15 minutes

Congrats.
You seem to have succesfully flashed an ICS ROM. For further support it's best to ask all questions in the thread of that ROM. That's where you'll get the most relevant support because these ROMs may differ.
You should check settings in the facebook app and in the twitter app and make sure notification is 'on' there.
cheers

Try flashing the boot.img that comes with your respective nightly via fastboot.

make sure you wiped cache and dalvik when you flash and also make sure if you're s-on that you flash the boot.img. also this is the wrong place to post. mod, please delete the thread. you should be posting in the thread for cm 10.1 or on android q&a
I don't think that I must to flash the boot.img cause I update from cm-10.1-20130722-Nighty to cm-10.1-20130802-Nighty !
I flashed the boot.img the first time when I updated from stock rom to Cyanogen 10.1...
The update is done directly by the CyanogenMod Updater .... And why the cm-10.1-20130722-Nighty is working fine without to flash the boot.img ?
Thanks you for reply and help
The kernel has been updated since the cm-10.1-20130722-Nighty ... In this case....I must to flash the boot.img mea culpa....
If you are S-On you need to flash the boot.img, period. If an update worked without it, that's just a fluke.
I don't know the technical details of WHY the boot.img flash is necessary when S-On, but that's how it is. Probably intentional by HTC to discourage this sort of stuff lol.
If you want to avoid flashing the boot.img, go S-Off.
Wow right smack dab in the middle of the development thread! Just wow! :banghead:
best thread ww!

[Q] HTC DESIRE WITH HBOOT 0.98.2000 s-off , no custom roms working other than cm 7.1

I have my htc Desire s with HBOOT 2.00.0002 unlocked bootloader form HTCDEV with S-OFF , i flashed CWM recovery 5.0 , i flashed cm 7.1 stable version and it worked.
I dint want to get Stuck in gingerbread so i downloaded some other roms from XDA like JEllY FIRE , UnoffiCial CM 10.2 , Carbon ROm , PAc MAN ROM e.tc. ... i flashed cwm recovery version 5 , then wiped Data , Cache , and dalvik cache and Flashed the above roms , but no luck , the phone got stuck on HTC logo ...
So i thought of downgrading the Hboot Version .. and i used the tutorial from a site which told me to use the given attachment to downgrade hboot ,
now i have Hboot version 0.98.2000 (PG****) (as i am seeing) , and s-off , but still when i tried flashing unofficial cm 10.2 the phone got stuck on htc logo .
Please help i want to use Jelly bean ... i need a detailed tutorial or video link to get a good jelly bean rom working on my phone ....
Please Help soon :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

I have hitachi panel ... please reply soon .. how can i flash a custom rom without having that broghtness always 100% error .. .those links in that thread weere dead :crying:
I'm sorry, but no jb or kit-kat rom will work properly on your phone. Even if you get them to boot with one of those kernels mentioned in the thread, the brightness will not be adjustable. So unless you can live with that, you're stuck with cm7 or sense roms
Check this. You have hitachi panel and you need to flash MDDI kernel.Check Flinny site like this http://andromadus.flinny.org/?q=cm10_1 for JB but be careful some links don't work so find it yourself. In basic you can get brightness working on your phone.
Check all post with MDDI and find that kind of rom.
Sorry for your problem.

Can please link me on how to get the official ICS rom for Desire s back .. keeping CWN and S - OFF .
Can i get a link to the MIDI kernel which i can flash so that i can use flinny's 10.1 rom ???? the link given in the above post was dead
please provide a link to a rom which i can flash and get the stock ICS htc rom ... my hboot version is 7.**** .... which i upgraded today ... i am not pro i just want something which would solve the problem just by flashing
The simplest thing would be to flash some custom rom with HTC Sense, there are a few ics ones in the development section (with sense 3.6, like the stock ics, or with the newer sense 4/4.1)

Does this work just if i flash it ??????? can i get the link please ????????
Yes, as your phone is s-off now, just flash the rom in recovery (after wiping data, cache and Dalvik cache).
I really don't want to get into a discussion about which rom is "best", so I recommend you look in the development section for roms that say "sense 3.6" or "sense 4" or similar, and have quite recent comments in the threads; read at least the last few pages of the threads, and the op, to see if there are any known issues etc., then try one, if you don't like it, or want a change, try another one.

its too confusing ... i am seeing that the sense ICS roms are having some WIFI and Front CAM not working issues :crying: please give me a link of a rom that's working without any such issues and is ICS ... Sense Version doesn't matter to me unless it's 3.0 + .... please give a link of a rom which you think will be most helpful to me right
THANKS AHEAD !!! :good:
Ok, I would use this rom as a starting point, but remember you can always make a nandroid backup, try a new rom, and return to the previous ROM by restoring the backup:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1679125
Recently, some people seem to be reporting issues with sms, but considering how long this rom has been there and how many people have used it, I think these issues are only affecting very few users
Is there a jb rom .... I know they don't support Hitachi panel but I heard that some midi kernerls are there which if I flash these roms will work

[Q] htc one s (ville) bootloop on kitkat roms

Hey guys,
since I didn'T find anything on this topic I'm going to ask you.
Currently I'm using the s4 version of the htc one s (ville), running on CM 10.2.
Everytime I try to install a KitKat rom, doesn't matter if it's CM, PA, Carbon-rom... my phone gets stuck on a bootloop.
Any ideas why that is?? HAven't really read that this is a common problem.
Thanks for your help ;D
And yes I did fully wipe the phone before I installed the new rom, since that's a common issue on the nexus 4

Sounds like you're using a outdated custom recovery. Flashing latest TWRP should solve your problem.
TWRP 2.8.0.1
thx for your help i will definitly try it i'll post my result
...
i just tried it with the recources i had but couldn't do a full wipe since i had no backup but as far as I know that doesn't cause the problem of a bootloop? so still have bootloop with updated TWRP
Same goes for the full wipe still set on a bootloop

Sensation XE Stock laggy, whats the right thing to do?

Hi, I have the following problem - My friend got an old HTC Sensation XE, with stock ROM, not rooted, bootloader locked and so on. She got it from friend because her phone died and she needed some fair replacement. She have never done anything like rooting, flashing ROMs, nothing like that. But the problem is that the phone has become laggy, I am very supprised because its on stock rom and when I used to use my Sensation, when it still was a flagship and well after One X was available, it it was okay, snappy and everything as you all know it was a HTC's flagship phone and HTC would not push anything that would make it laggy, I did factory reset and such, but that did not realy help. I in other hand have done fairy bit of rooting, flashing ROMs, custom kernels and such, so I think that flashing some custom ROM would help this problem, and as I have moved from my Sensation and anything related to that I am out of the loop and have no idea what is the best rom to use or maybe a kernel. So I am asking you what to do or flash, I need something stable and fast, stable because phone will be used by person who does not quite understand tech and fast - to resolve the problem of not able to use it comfortably.
