[ROM][Kernel] Merge 4.0 Beta 1 [02-27-13] - EVO 4G Android Development

Sorry but due to issues between me and xda I will no longer have anything here on xda. I will be posting on other forums so come find me there. I refuse to be part of a forum who will not follow it's own rules and regulations.

Sdcard info
Alright before this goes very far I want to give you some info about what you need to do with your sdcard.
You must have a partitioned card to use this rom
Instructions below are for Armon RA style recovery
If your card is not partitioned
1. back up everything on your card to your pc because this will erase your card and you will lose everything if it is not backed up
2. boot into your recovery
3. choose Partition sdcard
4. choose Partition sd
5. press power button or search key to start partitioning
6. use volume key to set swap size (I use 128 MB or 256 MB)
7. press power or search key to confirm size
8. use volume key to set ext2 size (I use 1024 MB or 1408 MB)
9. press power or search key to confirm size
10. it will then show you the sizes you selected
11. press power or search key to confirm (any other key will abort)
12. it will do its thing
13. now your card is partitioned and ready to use
If your card is already partitioned
You have a couple of options
1. You can use it as it is but if you are using ext4 you must flash a different kernel
A. There will be kernels on your sdcard in a folder called merge
B. The only one that is included that works with ext4 is underworld v8
C. Use any sense kernel that supports ext4
2. You can repartition your sdcard
A. Go to the unpartitioned card section and follow those directions
B. A swap partion is no required but I find this rom runs a tad better with one

Love, and
Happiness

Re: [ROM][Kernel] Merge Rls 4 Beta 1 [02-27-13]
For now you must use cmw, RA, or twrp 2.2.2.0 to flash this ROM. I have not updated my binaries to the jb code yet.
Sorry if you are using twrp 2.3.x or higher than you will get an error during flashing.
I will have the code updated for the next release.
This applies to Dirty Diablo, Merge, and HipKats ICS themed miui. All three were build the with the same binaries.
Again sorry for the inconvenience this has caused y'all twrp faithfuls.
Peace,
Love, and Happiness.

Nice job brother, looks good and smooth, you guys ae gonna like what Jlmancuso has done with this rom, again great work.

Anything that has come from TN is good! Too see a classic improved and updated is even better! Thanks for your hard work, I look forward to trying this out at some point! You have turned into a development machine! Thanks Bro!

Re: [ROM][Kernel] Merge Rls 4 Beta 1 [02-27-13]
Hey bro, only cause I'm rusty and have bad memory, when partitioning for use with this rom do I make one or two partitions? I know how but my memory is meshing 4g and 3d details together. I'd hate to waste sd space if it wasn't being used. Thanks again.

what do you mean 2 partitions?1 for the system and 1 for cache/dalvik etc.?If so you will only need 1,the sd ext will keep all of the nonsystem apps and cache in there,so make it a conciderable size, but not too big.

Ok. Yea I'm used to my 3d. You make two partitions on sd and it uses them as part of your system memory freeing up more space for ram, larger roms, more apps etc. One partition. Got it. Thanks.

Re: [ROM][Kernel] Merge Rls 4 Beta 1 [02-27-13]
Well if you stick with the I preinstalled than you will use 2 partions 1 swap around 128-512 and one ext2 of size of your choosing.

Yeah baby, can't wait to see this. Thanks man.
Man, don't even say that that snapping turtle is your pal......
FYI - Give it time to boot, I have flashed many, many roms & I was almost getting nervous, but it will boot.

Sure is he is my good luck charm well more like he keeps bad luck at a safe distance. Hope you enjoy. There is not much difference between this one and the rls3 I gave you the link to. I have more things to come for the next beta that will make a bigger difference.

Beta 2 is in the works. Changes include swipe to clear notifications along with the new TNN Toolbox. More info about TNN Toolbox is in the general discussion. It is what every ROM needs I promise.

Looks like Team Noname is on a roll, lol.I'll start working on a new banner for the team, now that i've finished 4 kornerz ultimate.

Mods please close this thread. I am leaving xda since yall are punks that pick and choose what rules apply. I refuse to be a part of a forum who refuses to follow your own rules and regulations. So good bye and kiss my white furry buttocks!

This is a very, very experimental build (I rough cut the new boot.img). Please, anyone who volunteers to experiment please have DDMS up and running so you can send me logs.
As you can see from the pictures, I loaded Drizzy's optimized apps and framework because I had never seen the Ophone graphics and wanted to see what they are all about. If drizzy doesn't mind I'll drop the graphics but keep the optimized apps

--------------------------------- THE OLD ROM DOWNLOAD LINK AND INFO BELOW ------------------------------
ALL OF THE THANKS GO to JAC, Denkai, coolbho3000 and everyone else who makes this possible.
This is a slightly modified JACHero2.3.3 release.
This ROM is for those who prefer a 3rd linux-swap partition. The modified a2sd.sh will start swap on every boot (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=531988).
THREE PARTITIONS
FAT32
EXT2 OR EXT3
linux-swap
Included in this ROM is the Super Optimized Rosie from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=532822
Next up, 4 Home screens on Rosie for the win! <---- probably should have been more specific, I'm working on this (it's more difficult than I anticipated)
Enjoy your ROMen noodles!
http://demarcatedmedia.com/rom/jacHEROski2.zip <----- slightly smaller Rosie, still working on fewer Home Screens
The file should be roughly 79.43MB - I used MEGAUPLOAD so who knows.
Please Note: This is my FIRST ROM, so use at your own risk. It does, however, work flawlessly on mine.
As always, I would recommend freshly formatting you sd card (at least the ext3 and linux-swap partitions) and wiping data before applying.
Awesome! Been looking for something like this. Gratz on your first ROM and props to everyone who made this possible. Downloading right now
could you plzzz upload to other site coz megaupload is not available in my area...
Question. If I am using a ext2, do I still need to do the 3rd? If so, how do I do that? Can I use partition manager?
would be cool if we could choose how many home screens it had.

Yea, I don't know I haven't tested it on two partitions. This ROM is mainly for those who have three partitions set up on their SD card.
FAT32
EXT3 or EXT2
linux-swap
The best part is you don't have to worry about your SD card getting corrupted when you mount.
You can use whatever to partition your SD card so long as it partitions it!

[MOD]Epic 4G Dual Boot Support -- NOW WITH APP!!!

Dual Boot Support
DualBoot Helper APP is now on the market! (See bottom of this post for more info)
DISCLAIMER: I am not responsible for anything, ever. It is not my fault if you do not read. I do not explain things because I enjoy banging on the keyboard. If you do not read this entire post before jumping in then do not expect me or anyone else to be much help. By following this guide and any links YOU assume all responsibility for your device and anything that happens with it.
What is it?
Dual booting allows you to run two separate roms on your device at one time. It is done by intercepting the mount points during the startup of the device. This is accomplished by checking the sdcard for a specifically named file when the kernel first loads and uses the appropriate files to boot with the correct partitions. Reading from the sdcard is slower than reading from the internal memory of the phone so the speed of your sdcard will drastically determine the speed any rom runs. On the same note a rom flashed to the sdcard will take longer than usual on the first boot.
What does it do for me?
Running two separate roms has many uses for just about everyone. Users can use dual booting to try different roms, themes, apps, modifications, or anything while keeping their existing installation intact. The uses are just about endless. Besides testing different roms, this allows the user try these things and make sure they are compatible and stable before pushing the changes to their internal memory. Rom developers have all of the above options plus a few. Rom developers can additionally use dual booting to test builds of their roms without fear of soft bricking their device. For advanced users, you can mount the partitions of the other rom (be it sdcard or internal) and fix bad apk files or messed up files. The options really are limitless!
What do I need?
Sdcard 2GB or larger
Dual boot compatible kernel
Other things I should know...
*The kernel MUST support BOTH roms you flash. Unfortunately this means you can NOT mix froyo and gingerbread roms. Make sure you know what the kernel supports before you flash anything!
*If you compare roms, benchmarks will hold no value due to the sdcard being so much slower than internal memory.
*Faster sdcards will perform better than slower ones. Note: the stock 16GB sdcard is a class 2 which simply classifies it's minimum speed. A higher class sdcard will more than likely perform faster but the class rating is a minimum and not a maximum. It is entirely possible that a certain class 2 card can out perform a different class 6 card. Keep this in mind when researching to buy a new faster sdcard. More info in this post.
*First boot takes longer than usual. Up to 15 minutes! Please wait until the rom boots and the initial media scanner is done before you judge usability.
*Using a rom from the sdcard will cause the sdcard to wear faster. This is due to many more reads and writes of data than normal. The Epic simply does not have the internal capacity to run dual roms on the NAND. That being said the sdcard is our next option. While it may reduce the over all life of the sdcard keep in mind there are other android devices like the Nook Color and the other Galaxy S phones that have internal sdcards running the Android operating system. My personal opinion with is with other devices running off internal sdcards and with the price of sdcards getting cheaper and cheaper it was worth it to explore this option for the Epic.
Ok ok, so how do I get started?
I am going to break the steps down into sections. Please read everything to ensure you understand what all is involved in getting everything working. I recommend making a backup in Clockwork Mod and saving it to your PC before you even get started.
Section 1 - Setting up the environment
Step 1. Flash a compatible kernel (Kernel developers, PM me if you add my dual boot support to your kernel and I will update the list below) Remember you can NOT mix a eclair, froyo, or gingerbread roms and the kernel MUST support both roms!
Currently compatible kernels:
Genocide 2.0 Supported Roms: EC05, EB13, and DK28
Section 2 - Preparing sdcard
Important information!!!! This will destroy ALL data on your sdcard so if you lose pictures of your dog, cwm backups, nudies of your spouse, etc then you can't blame me. BACKUP YOUR SDCARD!
The easy way:
Reboot into recovery mode with a program like Rom Manager, Quick Boot, or type 'reboot recovery' from a terminal. (NOT 3-finger boot to recovery...this will NOT work)
The easy way WILL erase your sdcard with NO confirmation....you have been warned!
Choose one of the following flashable zips to automatically partition your sdcard
DualBoot_Partition_RFS.zip
DualBoot_Partition_EXT4.zip
The manual way:
Reboot into recovery mode with a program like Rom Manager, Quick Boot, or type 'adb reboot recovery' from a command line. (adb commands assume you have a working install of the Android SDK)
While in recovery issue the following commands:
Code:
adb shell
cd /sbin
./dbpart.sh --help
I put many hours into the partitioning script to make it as simple to use as possible. Simply follow program usage instructions.
Section 3 - Preparing a rom
Since we have blank partitions on the sdcard we need to populate them with data. There are multiple ways to accomplish this and you can choose which solution best suits your needs. I am not going to cover ALL methods here but enough to suffice any likely scenario needed.
The dd method will clone your current setup to the sdcard (these commands may take up to 15 minutes)
The easy way:
Flash this dd script: DualBoot_Clone_to_sdcard.zip
The manual way:
Code:
adb shell
dd if=/dev/block/stl9 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p2
dd if=/dev/block/stl10 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p3
dd if=/dev/block/stl11 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p4
Preparation is complete. Please skip down to booting from sdcard.
The flash method is for flashing a new rom to the sdcard.
The easy way:
There is no sure fire easy way just yet. Stay tuned though.
The manual way:
This method is not that difficult so there is no need to be intimidated by it. It requires editing a few lines of the script that Clockwork Mod executes when flashing a rom or addon. For this example I am going to use a file named epicrom.zip but you can use any name you wish.
Step 1. On your PC, open epicrom.zip (I recommend using a program like 7zip)
Step 2. Navigate to the META_INF\com\google\android\ folder.
Step 3. Drag the file updater-script out of the zip to your desktop.
Step 4. Open the updater-script file with a text editor such as notepad (I recommend notepad++ or textpad)
Step 5. Change every instance of /dev/block/stl9 to /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
Step 6. Change every instance of /dev/block/stl10 to /dev/block/mmcblk0p3
Step 7. Change every instance of /dev/block/stl11 to /dev/block/mmcblk0p4
Step 8. Delete the entire line for any lines that contain /dev/block/bml7 or /dev/block/stl7 to disable flashing another kernel and breaking dual boot support.
Step 9. Save the file and drag and drop it back into epicrom.zip and let it replace the old one.
Note: If you get a status 6 or some other error when trying to flash it is likely you made a typo or your text editor did no save the updater-script file correctly. Recommended action is to correct the typo and/or use one of the recommended text editors note in Step 4.
Section 4 - Flashing to sdcard
Flashing a rom from this point is the same as you usually do. Put the modified rom on your sdcard and flash with Clockwork Mod like usual. I recommend doing a backup in Clockwork Mod BEFORE you flash in case you messed anything up by accident and end up flashing over internal memory when you meant to flash to the sdcard.
Section 5 - Booting sdcard
To boot from the sdcard place a file in the root of your sdcard called 'bootsdcard'. If you named it correctly upon reboot, the kernel will load the rom from the sdcard and not internal memory.
To boot back into internal memory simply remove this file from your sdcard and reboot.
You can switch back and forth using this method. If the file is there it boots sdcard, if the file is not there it boots normally. Pretty simple right?
Section 6 - Other flashables (not roms)
Themes, addons, and anything else that is flashable with Clockwork Mod must be modified in the same fashion as the rom. Use the same procedure documented in Section 3, The flash method.
Kernel Developers:
If you would like to add dual boot support to your kernel please refer to this commit: https://github.com/Rodderik/Genocide-Kernel/commit/a5dfd9f369ae4f2c90c1e7fc7d8995f88f72bd01
I will update this section if I push any specific changes to dual booting.
Now with an APP!
DualBoot Helper
VenumX coded up an APK to work with Clockwork Mod to run the scripts.

well the kernel is stored in bml7 and called by sbl/param during boot so unless we can get a bootloader to intercept the initial loading of the kernel and pass it off we are stuck with one kernel at a time
Very Nice Work !!!

You cannot make a cross OS kernel. We cannot integrate this into GB yet because there is no GB source, no GB source, no custom kernel. This is Froyo only, and well, someone else can make an eclair only kernel, but that is stupid.

[Q] Do I have to have a class 6 or better SD card to use this?
[A] While a class 6 or better SD card is recommended, I tried it out with the 8GB class 2 SD card that came with the phone. I would say "for best results" (to reduce or eliminate potential lag problems) use a class 6 or better SD card from a reputable manufacturer/seller. Not all SD cards are created equal.

[A] Before you use Boot Manager to install and AOSP based ROM get a copy of gapps here and place it in a folder on your SD card. Once you install CM7 or MIUI Bootmanager will ask if you want to boot into the ROM, "Install zips", or "Done". Select "Install zips" and find the gapps .zip file on your SD card and select it. Leave the wipe check boxes blank and select the slot where your CM7 or MIUI ROM is located. Once complete select the Okay button to reboot into your ROM.

i read the link in the description from the market, and it says they recommend a class 6 card i have a class 4 16 gig and wondering if it would work??
I'm sure that a faster card is recommended but I was able to install 2 ROMs on the class 2 8GB SD card that came with the phone, and both were very responsive. CM7 and MIUI are lightweight ROMs though, not sure if a Sense ROM would be too slow to use. I say if you have $3 for the app and a card with enough space give it a shot. I have read about class 2 cards outperforming class 6 cards in certain tests, it seems to vary by brand and size for some reason.
I've read about this before but didn't see any results on the EVO. I guess ill give this a shot on my og when I get home.

In their defense, they released a new version on August 12th, 2011. The changelog did not have anything Evo specific, but maybe some of the changes would have solved your issue?
I didn't have any problems loading CM7 and MIUI off a class 2 SD card, Synergy ROMs have a ton of modifications, etc (not a bad thing), this app is not specific for the Evo, so I would not expect this to work for every ROM/Partition/A2SD scenario. Each ROM took about 15 minutes to load initially, but was easy to switch once they were there.

+1 Also would like to know,....
I don't see why not, I will try it out. When I flashed MIUI and CM7 I was able to flash the gapps.zip using the "Install zips" feature. As long as your mod/theme is in a .zip format I think it would. I am installing a 3rd ROM to SD right now, as soon as it is done I will try a theme zip.
If you did not already know, this application requires that you connect to the internet for an authentication check of some sort. A pirated app will not work. With that said, I recommend switching to airplane mode and connecting to WiFi before installing a ROM (if possible). Last night I received a text during installation and it stopped the installation process. I would have had some choice words for the person sending the text if it were anyone other than my Mom.

Have tried it with many different roms & some take literally up to an hour to install but in no way they are usable for day to day use. Just to play around. only light weight roms that i had good experience with are MIUI 1.7.22 & deck 1.3. other ones like King variations or anything with Sense 3.0 is just to toooooo slow to run off of SD card and you might be disappointed. I am waiting on the developer to add new features to this.....& Yes it does an internet check upon app's startup to look for valid license. otherwise won't run!

now see this is the same card i have, 16 gig class 4, and i love the sense roms like synergy and evolved and the kingdom ports.
ty again bro saved me some money.
I have not experienced the issues some of you are having, not sure what the problem could be. I still think it is worth the $3 just to have a Sense ROM as the base and the ability to easily boot into AOSP based ROMs like MIUI and CM7. You could set it up like this:
PhoneROM: Sense 3.0 ROM
Slot 1 MIUI 1.8.12
Slot 2 CyanogenMod 7.0.3 build 170
Slot 3 MIUI 1.8.19
Slot 4 CyanogenMod 7.1 RC
My coworker is new to ROM flashing and just flashed MIUI on his OG Droid so he is always showing me new themes he found. It is nice to be able to boot into MIUI and pick up the theme out of dropbox and give it a go,
Well I LOVE this app!!!
I have a class 4 - 16gb card
And I put my 7/23 synergy kingdom 3.0 sense rom on the Phone Rom
and then I also have Miui 108190 on rom 1 port.
I havent tried any other rom but Miui runs faster than the 3.0 sense straight from SD card, I have DT apps2sd installed on the miui rom as well, everything works via a2sdgui!!! I have custom sbc kernel installed on MIUI
What i love about the rom is,
At night I put Airplane mode on when i sleep, Boot into Miui, let phone charge on sbc kernel and then boot into Synergy rom with no 10% drain and no missed mms's going into the wrong rom.
Awesome set up in my book i love SBC kernels and theres still none for Gingerbread roms but i love this set up!!
Miui has all apps i still use if i want to play pandora or audible b4 going to bed and ya-ta ya-ta...
Main thing ive learned is the bigger roms should be on Phone Storage... I havent tried anything else... I had synergy rsl 1 on rom 2 but as you all say its laggy...
Miui is Flawless and its cool to add apps2sd and it works!
Anyways im done!
--edit-- of course wifi works in airplane mode so u gotta have wifi for audible and pandora and other such things.
Phone Rom: 7/23 kingdom
ROM 1: latest cm7 nightly
ROM 2: EVO deck
ROM 3: latest miui
ROM 4: synergy rls 1 (haven't tried it yet)

i have successfully flashed kernels and fonts into a slot, script manager runs fine in a slot for me,i flashed 2 themes to cm7 and 1 stuck. the other didnt, but i flashed it from another slot, maybe that had something to do with it. ive installed a rom to a slot from another slot and it worked. i have v6 supercharger and kickass kernel tweak and sd speed increase on cm7 in a slot and achieved over 1700 quadrant score. i use a class 4, 16 gb card.
tonight i loaded the latest cm nightly in a slot and it was fine but boot manager said i was on phone rom and i wasnt. when i tried to boot into anything else it said failed boot image so i had to go to recovery and find an update zip in the boot manager folder,(you can use the update from any slot), glad i know about that little trick. it makes me much more willing to try risky stuff.

[ROM/DEV] Dual system released: DualDefy beta 2.11, MS2 GingerPort + MIUI dual system

Disclaimer: this is for testing only, I assume no liablity to any potential damage. If you feel this is a violation to your copyrighted software, feel free to contact me and I will respond accordingly.
It's released only on forum.xda-developers.com and bbs.mfunz.com , please refer to either thread depending on you prefered language.
Hi, after a few days of trying, I'm releasing a prelimitary Dual OS solution for Defy. It's not very complete yet but it's good enough for daily use (the 'dual' part, not the MS2 port or MIUI).
Before you ask, yes I've tried using SDCARD (system+data or data-only), it's just too slow for daily use. app2sd would be a better solution.
Features:
Well it's a Dual OS, what can I say. (MS2 port + MIUI)
You can update the two system independently (admittedly a bit hard for the 2nd OS as of now)
Advance Settings in the 1st OS, try it!
Draw backs:
It eats up 327MB (may size down a bit in future releases) of your /data and the two OS use the same space for it's apps so you have 700~800MB free /data to split between two systems. I'm using memhack to save some space.
The two OS included isn't very stable
Only 2.2 kernel supported as of now
Installation:
Root your defy and install any ClockWorkMod/Bootmenu/Snd-init if you don't already have one
Download the RAR file and extract 'clockworkmod' folder to the root directory of your SDCARD
Boot to your CWM, choose restore, and restore "DualDefy_v2.11". DO NOT WIPE after restoring or you loose the 2nd system.
Reboot system and it will boot into the primary system
To enter MIUI, press VolDown during blue LED when booting and enter Bootmenu, choose boot -> 2nd-boot and wait
Note:
It will reboot once during first-ever boot to generate a overclock(etc.) config file. *Do not use the overclock function in bootmenu* It's in "Settings -> Advanced Settings".
How to wipe:
To perform a wipe correctly (without loosing one of the system), follow the instructions:
To wipe 2nd OS, just delete /data/2nd-data with RootExplorer or "adb shell rm -r /data/2nd-data" in the CMD/Terminal window without quote. -- While booted into th 1st OS of course
To perform a full wipe, backup the 2nd OS, just copy /data/system.img to the root of your SDCARD (/sdcard/system.img), the wip as you normally do. It will be copied back if you choose 2nd-boot again.
To wipe the 1st OS: boot into 2nd OS, delete everything in /data2 except "/data2/2nd-data" folder and "/data2/system.img"
Thanks:
To all the devs who layed the ground work (Skrilax_CZ, CyanogenDefy team and many more) which ultimately made this possible.
And thanks to all the people who were helping me test it over at bbs.mfunz.com
Download:
http://mir.cr/44DQ1SOC
looks nice looking forward for 2.3 kernel support
wait till it stable, but it clearly awesome job
was waiting for this....
Interesting finding. Let's hope it will come a day when we could select those 2 ROM's that are installed... so it will be possible install a stable ROM as primary, for daily use, while for the second we can opt for some test beta ROM's.
Super! Works very well but there is no multi-language. I'll wait: D

He want to say: the video didnt work for green lens (same is at mine) on MS2 not MIUI.
pictures are ok, i can make pics and see them in gallery.
when i press on video mode and start, the application block himself and no video recording.
And for the second rom (you chose MIUI) better please chose the MIUI from miuiandroid.com because the one from miui.us have many, many chinesse letter in menu after i chose english (i just tryed).
Will be nice when all work fine to help us and learn how to put 2 roms that we want

Sorry, missed that spot, it wasn't done by me and there are many many things I'm dissatisfied about the one I released.
This was put together in a rush before I have no time (like right now) to do anything further.
I am planning on making it a bit more flexible. And I have already made MIUI OTA via recovery usable as of now.

[APP/KERNEL] DUAL BOOT S PLUS

Hello everyone!
Together with @h0rn3t we bring you Dual Boot Support for our beloved GT-I9001.
Let's get started
Requirements:
Root
Busybox
CM or other AOSP like ROM based on 2.3.6+
Minimum ~350MB internal storage free space
External SD (min 4GB, the higher class, the better)
Description:
The process is fairly simple. The application will format your external-sd (we recommend to back up your personal data), then create 3 partitions as follows:
/dev/block/mmcblk1p1 -> storage (formatted VFAT)
/dev/block/mmcblk1p2 -> /system (formatted EXT4)
/dev/block/mmcblk1p3 -> /data (formatted EXT4)
After that you'll be given the possibility to flash a secondary ROM on your EXT-SD (currently only 4.1.2+ ROM's are supported as secondary and 2.3.6+ as primary).
At last, you'll be able to switch between ROM's within the app.
Process:
WARNING: Partitioning and flashing operations could take up to 5 minutes each to complete !
Download the app and kernel pack from the Downloads section
If you want the app to be automatically installed on the secondary ROM, push the app to /system/app and give proper permissions (rw-r-r or 644). Otherwise, just install it normally.
Backup your personal data from the external sd card.
Run the app and partition your external-sd.
In app, choose flashing then choose your preferred secondary ROM from your internal SD card (must be 4.1.2 or higher).
Your phone will reboot into recovery and automatically flash the secondary ROM. (in CWM, if you get "Signature Verification Failed", continue flashing, it is normal)
After the flashing process is done, you'll be redirected to your primary ROM.
On your internal SD-Card, you'll have a folder called DualBootSplus, open it up.
Copy the kernels from the kernels pack into their appropriate subfolder. (eg CM-10 kernel (boot2.img) goes into 4.1.2 subfolder -> you'll have to create the subfolder if it doesn't exit)
Now you can switch between ROM's or flash secondary gapps within the app.
Additional details:
The kernel pack contains 2 kernel types for each ROM, Stock and OPT. OPT means that is has all the features from Phenom Kernel.
You must put only 1 boot2.img type (stock or OPT) in the DualBootSplus subfolders.
The app has integrated the 4.2.2 OPT kernel so you only need to put the stock boot2.img on your 4.2.2 subfolder. (if you want stock kernel).
The kernel will determinate which ROM will be booted. So, if you have a primary and secondary ROM, you can quickly switch between them within the app (make sure you have the kernels in the SD-Card subfolders), or manually by flashing the correspondent kernel.
The boot2.img can be flashed separately in ADB.
Special thanks goes to @Christopher83 for his kernel sources.
