I have the Asus Vivo Tab RT and the micro sd slot just started to not read my 32gb micro sd card. It was working before and now it does not work. I tried to reset it to factory settings since I did not really have much apps or anything else in it and now it just does not work. When I plug in a flash drive the tablet reads it perfectly and it is fine and it works. I've check the Asus website for any help but I did not find any help there. Can anyone out there help me figure what I can do besides sending my tablet for a replacement or anything having to do with the manufacture?
Cheers.

Ok I have an 8GB card for my Tilt but i just bought a 16GB card and I want to transfer my files from the 8gig to the 16gig. The problem is my pc (HP a230n) can't read either one of the cards. I know that it's because they are SDHC cards but I can't seem to find anything online that'll give my pc the capability to read them. Can anyone help me out?
how are you putting the cards into the pc
via a reader and adapter or maybe using the phones mass storage utility??
please enlighten us
The card came with an adapter so that's what I'm trying to use.
try using the phone as the reader u should get a pop up asking if you want to use as a usb mass storage device
hopefully the pc with then pickup the card
also try using on a different pc with both the adapter and the phones usb utility
I've done it that way before but it's a lot slower like that. I want the cards to actually work with the pc directly. Once I'm done transfering everything to the 16gig I'm gonna have the 8gig just sitting there so I figure I'd put it to use but it's kinda hard when I have to put it in my phone to use it.
I just finished transfering all my files to the 16gig through the phone but I would still like to be able to do it directly through my pc in the future.
then try and find a ppc tool thatll format the card
we know the ppc will pick it up but not the pc
THIS little bastard did the trick perfectly. No need for a firmware update.
job well odne then

I have heard reports that you can't use a card > 16Gb in the tablet but that's unconfirmed AFAIK.
I've also heard rumours that the keyboard's full-size SD card slot will take SDXC format cards which supports >32Gb capacity but again I've seen no confirmation of that.
I am snapping this up as soon as it's released here.
Questions on the storage:
1-As mentioned above, is this confirmed that the tablet microSD won't accept anything larger than 8GB?
2- If i get the dock and say I have a 16gb microsd card in the tablet and 32gb sd card in the dock, i should be able to access BOTH of these from the tablet (while docked) correct? So theoretically, I would have 16GB-built in flash on tablet + 16GB microsd card on tablet + 32GB SD card in dock = 64GB?
3-I just want to find out if by docking the tablet, the tablet storage just acts like another drive?
Thanks
KG
1- Even though I have the original manual here as a pdf, there's no info on what is the maximum size of SD card in the tablet slot.
2- I'm 99% sure that it's like that. Everything else would be stupid because many android applications store data on the (tablet) sd card.
3- yes, quite sure it does.
As a plus, you can use the USB 2.0 ports to add external hard drives.
Quote from manual:
USB Port (2.0)
The USB (Universal Serial Bus) is compatible with USB 2.0 or USB 1.1 devices such as keyboards, pointing devices, flash disk drive and hard disk drives.

There's a way to use USB host without the dock? I don't want to buy the keyboard because i've already got a 13" notebook for mobility, i just need a tablet but the USB host is necessary for me.

Thanks for the reply!
In that case, I can't wait to get this tablet what a great concept, best of both worlds. No need to buy a case, just shut the lid and you can carry it on travel without worrying too much just like a laptop, with all the various expandability options, no need to worry about HDD space either.
When combined with dock, it actually has 2 3.5mm sockets, which means I can use 1 device and myself and my wife can watch the same thing with 2 headphones and not worry about viewing angles thanks to the IPS screen...
So long as the 16GB tablet+dock comes in at around $500 or less, I am good...!

Any answer on maximum capacity?

Did you by any chance find out what is the maximum capacity of the microSD card that can be used in the tablet?
I have a 16Gb class 10 installed and working perfect. I'm just thinking to purchase one of 64Gb and I'm not sure it will work.
There is no rated max capacity, I've see people who put 128GB cards in there (NTFS formatted) that work fine.
That's great news. I'll try to find a good deal on a 64Gb card and use it with my Transformer
Does anyone know if we can connect an external USB drive to the TF101 without the dock? Thanks.

yes you can but you need to mod your charging cord or buy the asus proprietary port/usb dongle
some info first:
- have a Samsung B7610, also known as Omnia. Custom ROM on it, don't know a name or something anymore due to the fact I flashed it on a long time ago. OS is Windows Mobile 6.5.
- in the Samsung a micro-sd card of 8 Gb
- and a Asus TF101, more know as the Transformer
- for those interested: laptop is a HP 6730b. Came with Vista, installed W7 Ultimate 64-bit on it.
A while ago I lost the connection cable of my Samsung Omnia, and since the price for such a stupid cable is €5 or €6, I still don't have a new cable. (Dutchman eh )
Now I want to root my Transformer, described at AndroidRoot.mobi, but you need to have a SD-card plugged in the Transformer. Thing is, the Transformer doesn't pick up the SD-card. I tried formatting the SD-card in the Omnia, but that also doesn't work. My laptop doesn't have a micro-sd slot, so Im currently a bit out of options.
My laptop also doesn't recognize the sd-card while it is in the Transformer.
Im currently on vacation, and I really don't have a clue where I could buy a connection cable for my Omnia.
The SD-card works in the Omnia btw.
It's a complete book I typed, but it comes down to one question: anybody has an idea how I could format the sd card? (a)
AData 32gb class 4 working fine for 9mo in the tablet then all of a sudden it's not being recognized by TF101 or when I stick it in USB adapter into my computer. I would format the card if I could get a device to recognize it.
Any ideas on how to get it working again?
Does it show in the Disk Management of the Computer Management console?
If not, I am thinking it is FUBAR and needs to be tossed.
Is there currently support for the dock's SD card slot in CM 10.1? The "nightly" thread doesn't seem to mention any problems in this regard.
For me, no SD card inserted into the dock's slot seems to be recognized by my TF700. I also don't get any entries in /dev/block.
The USB-port on the dock seems to work fine with USB-sticks. I was wondering if the non-functioning slot on the dock is a known issue with 10.1. Unfortunately I didn't test the slot with the stock firmware, so I am also wondering whether there might be a hardware defect.
Any input is appreciated.
Best regards,

Thank you for your answer. Sadly this doesn't seem to be it. The cards which I've tried were all formatted as FAT32.
The micro SD card, which is working fine in the interal slot, is also not recognized when inserted into the dock's slot using an adapter.
Is there anyone using QM 10.1 on his TF700 who can ascertain that the dock's SD card slot should work?

Try changing it from fat32 (I know if it isnt a stock kernal they arent able to use it) and try that. I cant remember where i read it from but some cm10.1 roms have difficulty with acknowledging the card. If all else fail try a clean download with your computer and slide it over to your tablet re-install (no dirty flashing lol) and see if that improves it. If you know anyone else with an infinity try it out with there pad to see if its hardware related
