Hi,
I am a new user of Android, Just purchased a WildFire after Touch2. Am feeling very difficult to use conversation view of sms. Is there any tweak through which i can disable it and use it as normal sms?

I just got a Droid X from a TP2 and have been asking the same question since I got it. I always set it to "Classic" on my TP2. I need an Inbox and Outbox. Anyone?

Also if anyone can please advice how can i send a message to multiple people. I am finding it very difficult to work on Wildfire. Please help!!!

hi,
i tried using ChompSMS but could not find anything related to classic sms view. Is there any setting that i am missing?

Latest update was 1.6.0, what phone does he have?

If your co-worker has that version then shouldn't you be taking it off their phone and sharing with us?

Your friend must have a blackberry, 1. 7 was just released for blackberrys with os5 support. Really though, i am worried if you cant tell a difference between blackberry and android

Enjoy a Facebook app that does NOT have access to your text and picture messages.

if anything hes talking about the fb app 1.6.2 synergy for the droid incredible has the 1.6.2 updated facebook app
i pulled it from synergy for the DINC here you can see that they updated

Hi all i been searching for an app that dose group sms ... is that something that android supports out the box or > ? i know windows phone and ios do ? is there an app out there that supports group sms ? i know i could send a group sms ?

Don't know I've never used a stock messaging app.

Oh OK .. what app is the best to support group SMS then ? I mean I gave go SMS a try didn't seem to work

Go SMS.
Go to menu -> settings -> advanced tab -> send settings. Check 'MMS group chat'.

No.

Any of the 3rd party SMS apps will do this. Simply search "SMS" in Play Store and it will give you hits.
Specific apps that i've used are: GOSMS, Handcent and ChompSMS

I've been looking for a solution for this too so decided to check out Chomp on your suggestion. I can't find an option to enable group sms like there is in GoSMS. Am I missing something?

Try Handcent, it definitely supports group SMS.

Could have changed their features since I last used it. I am on gosms now and it has group messaging

Try GroupMe, I use it to talk to friends on iPhones and it works great :good:

Why don't you try something like GroupMe or Beluga. I used GroupMe and it worked phenomenally.

[Q] Can I remove Google+ contacts from the hangouts sms app?

In 99.9999% of cases I do not want to message someone on google+. Is there anyway I can remove all the google+ integration from the hangouts messaging app and use it only for sms? Or do I need to get a different sms app?
Sorry, just got the Nexus 5 last weekend so I'm still learning everything about it.

get a different sms app. There are many on the play store you can use, you aren't limited to using Hangouts if you do not want to, for SMS.

hold down the contact you want to remove then select "remove" or "delete", I forget which it is but that's how it's accomplished.

In the settings in the app just sign out. It'll be SMS only at that point.

Yup, you hold the contact name and select "Hide contact".

I agree with you. I use the textra app precisely because it doesn't go through hangouts or Google.

Just in case other people find this thread, trying to avoid all the google+ stuff, when using Hangouts for SMS, Google has since released Messenger. Seems to have a few kinks to iron out, still, but it has to be better than Hangouts. Plus, I hate having to say, "hangouts," all the time.

The problem with signing out of hangouts is that I don't get hangouts messages from the web app. I want to receive both, just without the suggestions for messaging random google+ people as suggested by google.

App to combine sms and whatsapp

Hey Guys,
Does anyone know of an app in the android app world that will combine multiple messaging platforms into main?
Mainly I'm looking to combine whatsapp and sms messaging.

Disa is a messaging app that does just this.
It's in Beta, so you won't be able to find it just in the PlayStore.
Go to Google+ and search for Disa. Join their beta test and you should be good to go.
Disa was pretty nice, but I couldn't handle the way the group messaging with MMS was setup.
They may have fixed that by now. I couldn't tell you, but the app was really neat and combined SMS and Whatsapp.

Yeah I had the same issue with using Disa a week ago, whatsapp never got verified.
Will try again today.
Btw, the new CYANOGEN MOD 11 is out for M8!! Anyone tried that yet? Wondering if they have the ZOEY feature?
