wierd situation i am in. my battery charges to 100 %....i tinker with it and little by little my battery drains to about 90%...heres the thing though....i reboot the inspire and the battery says its up to 97 again. after some usage, it will get to 56 %....i tinker some more, then reboot it. then it is back to 78 %. i have done the battery calibration, manually wiping battery stats through recovery. why is my inspire giving me false battery stats. even when im at 10 %, my cell stays on forever. its like the device is not recognizing its true charge. anybody have any ideas on why this is doing that? any feedback would be appreciated. oh, btw, this phone has done this even when i was pure stock before root. i tried installing a new battery, but that does the same thing.
plz help
What ROM?
Have you let the battery discharge fully after calibrating?
Sent from my Inspire 4G using xda app-developers app
Maybe it's corrupted install
Have you tried a different OS or version?
I have tried it all..new battery..full wipe..battery cal apparently..it does it on all roms

You haven't answered what ROM you're using. Also you haven't confirmed whether you took the battery to a full discharge after calibrating it.
Calibration is a myth. What ROM? Which new battery?

I just got a new battery from HTC, a replacement for the stock one um using. Should I charge the new battery as sion as I put it on the phone or shall I use it and wait til it die before I charge it to have a better battery life?

The batteries that come with a new phone are usually around 40%, they do this because 40% is a perfect amount to charge at. If you battery you receive is at around 35%-45%, I would give it a full charge, if any less, or at 85%+ I would use it until it runs out, then search the android market for a battery calibration app.

I have a stock phone no rooting or not flashed. Are there any battery calibration app for a stock phone?
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda premium
I just used the replacement battery but everytime I look at the stats it still shows the stats from the old battery. How can I clear the stats to start a new one. My phone is pure stock out of the box no root or flashing. Ty.

I'm at 6% after only being on for 3:56 right before that I went to recovery and wiped the battery stats and then the battery calibration blah I just got this battery brand new like maybe a week ago its an HTC stock battery at 4200-4300mV

Try putting the phone down for at least a lil while.

lol, 4 hours of constant use with screen on. I would say that battery is working well.
Ok good just making sure its not messed up and Idk why but to me the whole 4200mV when fully charged seemed high I mean its at 3900 when charging Idk lol but thanks guys
Sent from my Inspire 4G using xda premium
I usually top it about 4213mv when I'm fully charged.
Mine jumps back and fourth between 4200 and 3900 also.
Okay good I never took notice with my other battery and Idk just thought it could be a high number xD

May I ask what app(s) you're using to generate your battery data (graph and calibration)?
Battery calibration app and the stock setting battery information on abso 3.2
Sent from my Inspire 4G using xda premium
Using the phone with screen on for 4 hours and whatever apps or games you're playing + wifi or GPS or data can definitely kill your battery in 4 hours. You can do the while calibration method but if you've already done that then nevermind. If you're not using your phone for the 4 hours and it died that fast then yes something is wrong.

Yea I was doing it as a self test and just wanted to see if that were a good amount of time I bought the battery from new egg for 15 and it was a stock HTC battery

Wow that's crazy! It seems that the phone is in almost constant use for 4 hours straight! Wifi was always on, screen is almost always on, and it's awake almost all the time. I think the battery is doing well then. Just don't go crazy with it too much.
So just yesterday I encountered this problem and i would be grateful if someone would be able to help me. When I reboot my sensation I end up with around 20% less juice. Any ideas? It doesn't happen all the time, just the first time after recharging. I'm running CM 7.1.
Sent from my Sensation using XDA App
I'm not sure but it may be connected to the calibration process. Did you calibrate the battery?
Have the same.
Reboot it again and its back to normal.
I guess its a wrong callibration or a bad charge or something like that

I think I did. I used the Battery Calibration app.

My phone will read 99% charged but my phones widget will read
100%.
Is there something that I need to do or is it just because of the custom Rom/
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA
Hi after flashing every Rom charge to 100% then plugged in go to recovery wipe battery stats, unplug. This should help clear up the confusion. Possibly old stats are corrupting the percentage. I do this with EVERY Rom I flash! It really helps!
Best of luck hope I helped.

What above poster said or either way you can use battery calibration from the market there is a few apps out there but they all work good..

Hi,
Wiping battery stats is a MYTH
Sometimes getting to 100% just takes a while.
Be patient.
Let the battery charge fully + 15 minutes.
Do this for several cycles, and it will settle down.
Or just change Your Kernel
Im running the JoyOS ROM and Im only getting like an hour of battery life everyday when I wake up my phone is dead. Ive tried to even turn the wifi off at night and it still dies. And yes Ive also got a new battery same results. I wanna keep the ROM because its sounds great in my truck
Download a WakeLock detector or BetterBattery Stats to find out whats draining your battery.
It's not saying what is draining it. It could be dead and I go into recovery and it would say I have 50 percent battery life
