Hi
Is there any process/ task/ performance manager for Android that would show some stats like proc load (not frequency but load), memory (disc) load, network load... Something like default Task manager in windows 7, including resource monitor. All I can find only show frequency, used/ free space, mostly useless data.
I like system tuner pro. They have a free version as well.

What are some must have apps for our phone after being rooted and making phone quicker? Plz give details of what app will do if you post any and thanks.
I would love to see some replies to this as well! I think most people use advanced task killer to speed up their phones but hey we will learn maybe.
Speeding up Apps
I am convinced that task killers do not work as you might expect. The way that Android works with memory is that for most apps there is little use to killing an inactive task. Most apps don't leach memory in the phase where they are unused, and are deleted from memory after being unused the longest. If there is a sudden need for additional memory, the built in garbage collector in Android kills old processes, otherwise the app sits dormant in memory. If you want to start up that app again, the memory is just reactivated. Task killers just kill apps that are sitting dormant for no real reason--they don't gain you speed for certain. They MIGHT help if an app doesn't play properly with memory, but generally you won't notice an advantage to doing this, in fact things might slow down(you'll have to relaunch that app to use it again rather than reactivate it). The only "speed up" apps I use are:
Quick Settings--To quickly access commonly used dettings rather than digging through the list.
SetCPU--WHich allows you to overclock or underclock your CPU. In reality, I used this more to underclock than overclock(preferring battery to speed).
and Swiftkey X--Which speeds up your data input through its wicked cool prediction of what I want to type next. Other than that you have a Tegra II dual core beast. Its already fast. Find a good EXT4 based system(ext4 is the system's internal drive format...ext3 is the standard buil, but ext4 is faster(somewhat). Also use a good ROM and enjoy. How fast do you need it to be? I don't experience much lag at all with my phone.
setcpu for speed and improving battery life.
Autokiller memory optimizer (optimum is a good setting to start at), autorun manager, sd booster & juice plotter.
Those are good tools for performance, battery life and understanding how much time you have left. Depending on your preference, juice defender also. I love it, adds hours of life to my phone, but some people don't like it, all depends on your preference I guess.
I agree with gpmartinson also on task killers, their are tools to manage your phone without using such a raw and possible hurtful or annoying app.
Don't forget, their are many threads identical to this one also.
Eh, if your interested, here's a list of my apps: http://www.appbrain.com/user/bmann_420
I'm just posting this cause I like to see other peoples lists also (at least somewhat android educated users' lists) lol =)

Watchdog Task Manager works. If you set it up right, all it does is monitor, never autokills. If an app starts using excessive cpu cycles it alerts you. It is very useful in finding apps that kill your battery.

Anyone know of an app which tells what app is using cpu the most? Some like task manager for windows?
I think Elixir (try Elixir2) shows that. I'm not that sure.
EDIT :
on description it says :
- displays running processes / services / tasks: pid, cpu usage, memory usage, total cpu, network traffic, view logs of a process, kill background processes, batch mode
System tuner
Exlir was bit too much for me, only need cpu checker will try 2nd app
Or you can just use *#*#INFO#*#*. I use System Panel / Task Manager btw.
Thanks i use that code but not what I was looking for will try task manager
See sig for device info.
What software do you use to make your device easy to use and increase its performance?
For me, I've installed utils like;
SD Booster, which allows you to set a read/write cache.
Swapper 2, which allows you to create a swap file.
Fing, which is a great network tool.
WiFi Analyzer, to check your setup and maybe make changes.
Photo Editor, a great tool for pics!
Boat Browser, which is far superior to stock and I think better than Dolphin.
TinyURL, a great link sharing tool!!!
Parcels, which is an easy, simple and great little tool to use for tracking shipments!
ES Explorer File Manager a great file mgr, incl Root access.
These are just a few. I was wondering what others might use to make their devices either run smoother, or just be easier to use.
Thanks,

I have been trying out different apps to monitor system information on my Transformer tablet but have yet to find any two that display similar information. For instance, I have System Tuner Pro and ES Task Manager which both have root access plus they both have a "Startup Manager" and a "Task Manager" but neither one is even close to showing the same information.
I would like to learn more about the android system but the apps I have tried are not helping. What apps do the Dev’s use?
Any suggestions would be appreciated,
Thank you
I'd think it depends what you information you are looking for... There's not one tool that does it all.
Any artisan has lots of tools that he/she uses and the more intricate the work, the more specialized are the tools.
Can you be more specific about what you are trying to learn?

Thanks for your reply berndblb,
oop's I actually meant "System Tuner Pro" but doesn't really change the question much.
I suppose to be more specific I would say that I want a tool that shows me what is loading during boot-up whether it be system & kernel files or app's plus a real-time system monitor which is what I would expect from System Tuner Pro and even ES Task Manager.
After spending some more time with both I am getting comfortable with each program and finding the information I am looking for. System Tuner is probably more geared to what I want but I think that ES Task Manager just has a little different approach to displaying its data in respect to being somewhat of a module to ES File Explorer. I also found a tool called System Monitor and once again, it had its own way of displaying data.
I believe the differences I see in the various programs is the beauty of "Open Source" there is truly not a "one size fits all"
I'm still open to suggestions.

Hi guyz today im gonna discuss about top apps which increses perfomance or are helful in any other way on rooted devices only.
1 >Greenify
Greenify is an Android app that can improve your device's battery life and performance by hibernating certain apps.
2>SEEDER
Many people might not be aware of this app. This app reduces the lag which every one of you might have experienced while switching between apps.I personally have experienced this app and it actually does remove lags.
3> XPOSED INSTALLER
Xposed is a framework for modules that can change the behavior of the system and apps without touching any APKs. That's great because it means that modules can work for different versions and even ROMs without any changes (as long as the original code was not changed too much). It's also easy to undo. As all changes are done in the memory, you just need to deactivate the module and reboot to get your original system back. There are many other advantages, but here is just one more: Multiple modules can do changes to the same part of the system or app. With modified APKs, you to decide for one. No way to combine them, unless the author builds multiple APKs with different combinations.
4> SET CPU
SetCPU is a tool for changing the CPU settings on a rooted Android phone or tablet. SetCPU works with a great variety of Android devices and ROMs, including the HTC One series, Samsung Galaxy series, and Nexus devices. You're under control: SetCPU can improve your performance, save battery, or both!
Automate SetCPU with profiles! SetCPU allows you to set up powerful profiles to change your settings under certain conditions, such as what app is running, when the phone is asleep or charging, when the battery level drops below a certain point, when the phone's temperature is too high, or during certain times of day. See the screenshots for examples of how you might set up profiles.
SetCPU's wide feature set make it useful to Android beginners and enthusiasts alike. Accelerate yo...
5> CHAINFIRE 3D
Chainfire3D is an intermediary OpenGL driver. What does that mean? It means that Chainfire3D sits between your apps and the graphics drivers, and can intercept and/or change commands between the two. It has some built-in functions, and can be further extended with plugins too.
6> NO-FRILLS CPU
No-frills CPU Control is a tool you can use on your Android phone to quickly set the CPU frequencies and governor to use. It allows you to use the highest frequency your phone supports and gain some precious FPS in your preferred game, or go down to the lowest frequency and gain some more juice when your phone is sitting idle. All of this without any memory footprint or services running in the background!
8> TITANIUM BACKUP
Titanium Backup is a backup utility for Android that backs up your system and user applications along with their data on external storage of your choice. It is a leading Android application that uses root access to pull all your important applications and data from the system partition and stores them for future restoration. Whether your phone is corrupted or flashed with a custom ROM, Titanium Backup can save the hassle to get your phone loaded up just like it was before. Best of all, it is FREE! If you use it regularly, the PRO version will enhance the experience like never before! Get it today and protect your precious data before its too late!
9> ROOT APP DELETE
best tool for android users, and works better with root permission.
it helps you easily and quickly manager system apps (freeze or remove), the best tool for managing your android system.
compared to other clean or uninstall tools, it is much more better and special:
* tiny, fast, even running on old phones with low memory.
* "modify" MODE, change system apps before uninstalling
* can "Disable" backgroud system service, such as "google backgroud transport" and "contact sync service"
I have personally used all the apps and I think they are very good.
