[Q] Keep HTC Weather Clock When Going To A Senseless ROM - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

I was wondering if i could keep the weather clock by backing up the apk for when i update to the JellyBam ROM. Will this work? If not are there any apps that are exactly the same as the default weather clock? Thanks

The widget can't be migrated, it requires the Sense framework.
Beautiful Widgets has one app that has a decent clone of the HTC weather clock. I believe there are some others I've seen recommended by other XDAers, as well.

that's sad to hear but i guess i can live without it, thanks for the super fast reply.

Try this one... I've used it for months on CM and its almost identical and fully functional... Install as apk

hey everybody!

heya,
I just got my new se x10 white and im thrilled.
One thing i miss only! I'm coming from an htc hd2. and was wondering if its posible to have a same like clock? a flipclock?
thanks in advance for replies, and hope root will be achieved soon!
Is rooting like flashing a rom on windows?
There are a couple of clocks that you can try. I use beautiful widgets, you can also try weather widget & toggle. Both are themeable to make them more HTC like.
Root is required to flash custom roms.
Congrats on a fine purchase
The Weather Widget & Toggle is identical to the HTC sense weather/flip clock widget and is also skinable.
Try the Fancy Widget. I'm using it my self on my X10, and it's working really nice.
It's even free and it's on Android Market.
Wow nice thanks!
Fancy Widget looks nice and looks exactly like the HTC one.
thanks you guy's!
fancy wiget is really great i live in belgium and paid apps arent avelble here
so this is really nice

[REQUEST] Live wallpapers from Sensation rom

Hello!
I have already downloaded the ''normal'' wallpapers from Sensation but what about the Live wallpapers ones?
Can someone upload them please?
I 2nd this request if possible... thanks!!
+1 for the request
BTW the weather animations we saw from Sense 3.0 are a live wallpaper or a widget?

In sense itself its ripped straight from wp7 weather. You can see it in the weather widget when you click it.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA Premium App
Geez!
A live wallpaper can be converted to other devices but a Sense widget (Rosie) will never work or be ported on non-sense roms
I hope they will root the Sensation so I will buy it
I mean these animations:

Oh my god yes get this **** uploaded NAO
+1
I have extracted this files ... do not live wallpaper, but .mp4 file around 60 mb ....
This files are the weather animation In sense they play when every you go to the weather app in sense they are not live wallpapers.

Bump
Bump I would really like to see this happen. Anyone got any ideas on how to make an apk? I have the weather live wallpapers apk but it is force closing on my DHD.
Have fun with the live wallpapers: http://www.2shared.com/file/y4OnYqqm/Live-Wallpapers-sensation.html
dont know if that are all.
Will these work on a stock Samsung galaxy s2 ?
Nop!
Mainly because it's linked to HTC Rosie and it's a different resolution!
I am using TB rome with all Sense 3.0 parts, the Live wallpaper and weather from Sensation are working flawlessly on DHD
Where do the codex files go?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA Premium App
I'm having trouble installing them. I put the files in system/apk and nothing happened. Lol
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA Premium App
Possible installing them on a desire?
Okay before I install the .apks on my G2 I have a few questions . Since these
are coming from a Sense ROM will they still work on a Non-Sense ROM ? I only
plan on using the .apks will this be a problem not using the odexs ?
Will these work on a non rooted phone? Im using astro and attempted to install on my Inc 2. Not much luck. Do I need to be rooted?
Bump for anyone who's made these work successfully
These will very likely not work in your case, as most of these HTC custom assets like live Wallpapers and such depend on special software and files that your non-Sense 3.0 phone just won't have.
Now, when someone finds a way to port Sense 3.0 back to other devices, it will work then.

[Request][App] Flipclock (It's not exactly what you think)

Hey guys. I'm in search of an animated flip clock, identical to the one found on HTC devices. After hours of looking around, I've decided that there is not one out there that flips AND looks just like the HTC one. However, after playing around with Better Alarm Clock Pro, I found that it has a working flip clock built into the app, but it cannot be used as a widget. This brings out the question: Can this portion of the app be ported so that it is a widget? I am rooted, on an Optimus V running Stock ROM with everything stipped, if it matters. Thank you.
Just use fancy widget, looks and flips pretty much the same
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
Fancy Widget with the H7C skin looks almost exactly like the sense flip clock.
Go weather's htc style widget looks close too. Just download go weather and then the skin for the widget.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
He wants it to flip too. Like the animation. This isn't currently possible according to fancy widget. It is in the FAQ on their site.
Fancy Widget Pro is quite good to pretend as HTC Sense clock, Retro Clock Widget is an alternative for simple flip clock
I believe the flipping animation is part of Sense UI... soo you can't exactly replicate that.
Anyways I understand it'd look cool for the first hour or so when you're looking at your widget to flip..
you'll forget about it later, and it'll cause to be nothing more than a battery eater.
I own fancy widget pro and am using the h7c skin, but it doesn't flip. Better alarm clock pro has a working flipclock built in and I just want to know if it can be ported?
Sent from my VM670 using XDA App
Hello? Surely this is possible?
Sent from my VM670 using XDA App
Try a LWP instead of a widget search the Marketplace for "Live Wallpaper Flip Clock" by Sergey Golovanov it is not bad and may accomplish the effect you are looking for.
Thanks for the reply, RifRaf, looking into it at this very moment. But my original question is still not answered. PLEASE can anyone tell me if it is possible to port it. I don't know how to develop apps or scripts or any of that stuff. All I know is that the flip clock is there, within the app, and I just want it on my homescreen.
The flip is part of htc's framework. Its not part of androids. Theres no way to make it work.

well I know I sound like I'm a dumbass here, but I know that the stock android system is capable of animated Widgets. I've used a clock with rolling animation, so I know that animation is possible. I also know that better alarm clock pro has the HTC flip clock. How can it not be possible to animate the flip clock as a widget? All of the image files are there, it just needs to be coded or scripted or whatever (I'm not programming inclined, obviously). If anyone can make a widget out of this, I would be happy to give them a few drinks.

If youre not programming inclined then why do you insist it can be done? I have been told by many developers, it can not be done. Talk to any sense dev, theyll tell you.

Look, if I had several hundred dollars to throw away just so I could get a damn flip clock....I am fine with my phone how it is. The flip clock is 100% possible, there was a working flip clock posted earlier in this thread. It just needs to be themed to look like the htc one.
I have my entire sense theme put together, I just need this flip clock widget to happen, so I can make it complete.
It doesn't really look like HTC Sense, but it flips...
Try out "Animating Flip Clock Widget" - it's free on the market. I'm sure the apk could be modded to look more like the Sense clock.
EDIT: Doh! I just realized the link posted earlier was the same widget. Oh well... but yeah, I'm sure it could be modded, but making it look exactly like the Sense flip clock, including weather, the dark background behind the tabs, etc... might be difficult.

Sense world clock replacement.

Hello All! I was wondering if anyone know any replacements for the sense clock app. I am running Virtuous Inquisition and the only thing I really miss is the world clock app from sense.
Does anyone know any apps that have timer and stopwatch and world clock functionality?
I restored my Titanium backup of the sense clock but I can't add any cities to the world clock, so it's useless for me. Any help would be appreciated!!!!

hmm i guess that's a no. anyway thanks for the help.
Try that out
Hello,
i would suggest you to try
Beautiful widgets: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.levelup.beautifulwidgets&hl=de
or
Fancy Widgets: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.anddoes.fancywidgets&hl=de
Both are good
You won't really find one as polished and beautiful as the sense clock.

Ahh I see I already have beautiful widgets. I got it on the 10c sale. I use on my homescreen, but it doesn't have a separate clock application. It just uses whatever is in the ROM.

Yes I am starting to see this. It's very surprising as the iPhone has it and usually there are apps that will try to accomplish the same thing on android. If anyone is looking for an app to write, here is a good one. I would certainly buy it.
Also I wish I could get the world clock from working on Virtuous Inquisition. Everything works except searching for cities. There must some app or framework which has been removed that will accomplish this. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would really really appreciate it.

[Q] [AT&T One X]AOKP + Sense?

Hey all,
I was wondering if there is a way to PORT Sense to AOKP so I can have a mix of both. I'd be willing to look into doing it myself or with some guidance. I'm buying my girlfriend a HOX soon and she likes the AOKP on my One V but at the same time, she (for some reason) likes Sense (especially the animated weather, clock, etc. widgets). If someone knows of a ported version of the Sense widgets (with the animations), then that would also work.
Thanks, worldindo1.
If it could be done, I think it would have already been done. Someone correct me if I'm wrong..

There is no aokp sense yet. There is a sense 4.5 port but it's very unstable. Buy her beautiful widgets. It has the big fancy clock and weather animations your girlfriend likes
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda app-developers app
It may be possible to port some aokp features to a specific sense ROM but I've seen someone try and port some sense elements and it isn't that easy to make each app dependant upon itself instead of the sense framework
Sent from my One X using Tapatalk 2
The proprietary Sense features require a Sense base. No one has found a way around this and isn't likely to because the code for Sense is not open-source.
There are several Sense roms with AOKP elements.

If you want the actual Sense clock, you have to use the Sense launcher. No way otherwise.
However you could use HD widgets to get a Sense like clock and flash CleanRom Dev to get a Sense ROM with AOSP styling.

Yeah i'd also like the combo aokp+sense. I must say mine n ur gf's thought are alike.
+1 for beautiful widgets. Use that and find a good sense theme for the theme chooser. There's like 3 or 4 in the android themes section here on xda alone. The average user wouldn't be able to tell the difference
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1655946
Technically almost anything is "possible", but rohan32 explained the complexity of porting the Sense camera here, and I assume the same applies to other Sense apps and widgets.
Basically, the amount of work to port over Sense components makes it infeasible. And you would have to port the Sense launcher as well, as even on Sense based ROMs, if you ditch the launcher, you lose the widgets. At that point, you may as well just be using a Sense ROM.
