I have a problem with Google Chrome and I'm currently on CROMI 3.3 atm. I remembered I uninstalled Google Chrome once before and recently I just wanted to add it back so I could make use of ease with that nice Google account syncing with other synced devices. I tried installing from Play Store, and i got an error code -24. I couldn't find any information on that, so I tried doing 3rd party app installer and even tried using airdroid to do an install from my PC. Both of which could not even install as well.
I can only remember that Chrome was installed as a system app before, but I never did so. The only thing that acknowledges Chrome's existence on my tablet is Titanium Backup. There's a strikethrough line for com.android.chrome, but it doesn't give me any other option to do anything with it. No backup, freezing, or uninstall. Oddly enough, I don't know how I don't have a backup for the apk either.
The point is I'm trying to make here is, should I reflash the previous CROMI that did install Chrome with its package? I was on 3.2 before coming straight to 3.3. Is it safe to do that?
The one other thing I'm hoping would work is ask someone on here for their Chrome backup and restore it through Titanium. It's a chance that it would probably work, but I would like some thoughts on that.
Any help is appreciated, thanks... ~__~

I am having issues with this "Google talk failed to authenticate" repeating pop-up and also noticed that I can no longer update or download apps from the android market. {the weird thing here -- I noticed this a few nights ago on the wife's TF101B, then yesterday it also happened to my TF101B -- both running Honeycomb 3.1 (PRIME 1.5 ROM) but neither my Dell Streak7, LG G2x or wife's Samsung Galaxy S4g which all run rooted variations of Froyo are having this problem -- installs, updates all run fine on the same google accounts}
Is anyone else having this issue with their Transformer -- possibly a Honeycomb or PRIME 1.5 ROM issue, an app market issue, or just google in their infinite wisdom???
When I searched the Forums I found these but it doesn't look like the same issue:
saw this thread in G2x and not the same deal -- I have not signed up for google+
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154383
Since I don't live in the UK don't think this is my issue either
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=915180
Any help in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated, since previous attempts at getting quality support from google leaves a lot to be desired, Thanks in advance.
Have you by any chance used titanium backup to restore data? I've had the same problem previously when I restored account data through titanium backup....so to prevent the problem don't restore account data in honeycomb.
To solve it if you've accidently done that, just delete accounts.db which can be found in data/system/ (I think). Then reboot and add your google account back....once done make sure you go in to market and accept the T&C's before launching gtalk.
If you haven't used titanium backup then I dont know what could have caused it......but deleting accounts.db could still work.
Thanks for the reply, Yes I do have Titanium backup, have run systemwide backups of the TF101, and restored a couple apps (file manager, and voodoo sound) but not any system data.
I have never used google talk that I am aware of. I put the voice package/codec in for navagation when I first got the TF101 (about a month ago) but have not used the tablet for any voice/video calls etc. I am trying a full reset (after a backup of course) and if that doesn't work I will reset the google account and see if it helps.
update: 08/11/2011
I tried the reset and removing/re-entering my google account yesterday and it seemed to work, was able to update an app, but today I fire up the TF101 and I am back to the exact same issue google voice popup "failed to authenticate" and can't update or install apps from the android market. :-(
Is anyone else experiencing this issue? again it seems to be only my TF101 running Honeycomb 3.1 (PRIME 1.5) my DS7 and G2x are not having this problem and all are on the same google account.
Any help to resolve this, would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
I used the RUU from HTC to upgrade my rooted Inspire, and it went beautifully. Everything seemed to restore and my phone feels faster.
However... I have the old market back. That isn't as big a problem as it no longer sees all my apps from the market. I searched and searched but couldn't find the answer. Even more annoying is I swear I'd seen this problem and a solution posted somewhere recently.
Anyone?
Thanks!
I have two ideas:
1. Clear Data for the Market, I've had problems with it and this helped
2. Make sure you have Unknown Sources enabled in >Settings>applications and try to install the new market manually.
I had already cleared data/FC'd and restarted several times.
Installed latest Market, and still no love. It only shows Youtube and Maps. I downloaded something new just for grins.
When I log into my market account, it shows me as registered today but not used yet. I suspect it has something to do with this...
Is it new apps that were recently installed since the upgrade that are not seen or previous apps that were installed with previous ROM? If the apps are installed, possibly you can use Titanium backup to restore market links. Most likely other apps that will do the same.
Market doesn't see ANY apps at all! And I can't use Titanium since I'm no longer rooted.
As a side note, my kid called last night to tell me he had upgraded, and had the exact same problem. After installing the upgrade, he had old market and none of his apps showed up.
That is totally strange if you install a new app and then market fails to recognize it right off the bat. I can't recall anyone else having this issue.
Sorry, I misinterpreted your previous post.
Everything I've ever gotten from the market shows in my market account on my computer, but not in 'my apps' tab in the market on my phone. However, the apps I've now downloaded again now show in 'my apps' but still have the original download dates showing in my market account.
Very odd behavior...
You now have me quite confused too. They don't show up then they do show up? What are you missing then? The apps that you previously downloaded with the froyo ROM?

Exactly. Everything I'd previously downloaded is missing in 'my apps' although the phone and all the apps show up when I log into my market account on my PC.
Doesn't really matter much now. The last time I installed a ROM it took nearly an hour for the market to reinstall all my apps. I've manually reinstalled the 10 or so apps I actually use, and not bother with Paper Toss and Tom the Talking Cat and the other 30 or so space wasters.
Just find it odd that my kid and I, in two different cities and on two different ROMs, had the exact same experience with the market. Go figure.
This i what i had to do
This very same thing happend to me as well. If you go on your home computer or use your browser on your phone and go to the actual Market web siteand sign in you can resend all of your apps to your phone and reinstall them. Then they will show up in market on your phone again. The Market web site is marketandroid.com/apps sign in with your google acct info then click the My Library tab and chose the apps you want to reinstall. Hope this helps. let me know if it works!!!
Also when you first started your phone with the original froyo it asked whether you wanted to back your apps up in the setup. Maybe you did not have this checked. So when you ran the RUU it totally wiped your phone clean as it should. If you did have backup selected, when you installed the new ROM it should have started to install most of the apps. I have noticed it never installs all apps from the market. But it does show for me at least all the paid apps. The apps it did show for you were technically not your apps. They were system apps that were linked to the market automatically.
Also as you did start fresh make sure you have google backup in affect so it keeps track of your apps for the next time you install fresh if you ever do.
I believe the reason the apps show up online with the pc and not your phone because google thinks you uninstalled all those apps.
I don't know what happened, but today I went to look to see if I had any updates in the market under "my apps" to find that it is completely blank. Not a single app installed is listed. I determined that this is not account related (I checked to make sure I was under the right google account in the market). Under my other account, it shows 3 apps under "my apps". I am using an AOSP Gingerbread rom based off of CM7.
I have tried:
1. Uninstalling and reinstalling the market.
2. Clearing the cache of the market app.
3. Clearing the data of the market app.
4. Linking the apps to the market with both TitaniumBackup and with MyBackup Pro.
5. Rebooting the phone
Nothing is working. I have things set up on the phone exactly how I like them. I really don't want to do a complete reinstall of everything. Does anybody have any recommendations?
I had the same problem until I downgraded my market to an older version, now all is good
Thank you for the reply. A downgrade resulted in the same outcome. I just don't get it.
Did you clear the data and cache from the market after the downgrade? I just know what worked for me. It might not work for you
I appreciate your trying to help. I did, no difference, must be TitaniumBackup related. Same problem upon reinstall of the Rom and TiBU restore of apps and data.
A lot of thread views. Are others having this problem?
Switched to cm7 and all back to normal. I have no clue what caused the problem.
So many threads already about this problem.
I posted some more information here:

Hi there,
First I'd just like to say that I've tried every solution and guide I could find in the last hour or so. I'm running a Telstra HTC One XL with the latest ViperXL ROM, and the Bulletproof kernel.
My issue is this: I recently completely wiped the ROM and all data/settings etc. Before doing so, I backed up just a few apps that I wanted with Titanium Backup. After I was setup again, I restored the apps, but I can't get them to be detected in the Play Store. I've tried Market Fixer, Titanium's Market Doctor, clearing data+cache for the store and google services framework and rebooting, installing the apparent newest leaked version of the Play Store from here on the forums. Frankly I think I've only made the issue worse - the only app Titanium detects as being installed now is the Play Store. The My Apps section in the play store only shows apps that I've installed since reinstalling the rom.
I should mention that I made a new google account recently - some or all of the apps I'm not seeing may have been installed/last updated under the old account. I haven't touched that old account since the new installation. It occurs to me that I could probably just uninstall and reinstall most of my apps, but that would defeat the purpose of backing up.. I'd lose the associated data/settings/files.
Appreciate any help.
Tl;dr: Are there any other ways than Titanium's Market Doctor to link apps restored from a backup, with the market, when they haven't necessarily been associated with the current Google account previously?
*Btw, the old account no longer exists.
So, I have a TF101 that I had rooted and played around with.. tried kitkat, ICS, etc... Now I have something else, and I want to give this tablet to someone else.. but I want it to be unrooted, stock rom. So, I flashed it back to factory and reset it. The needs of the next user are extremely simple, so stock should work fine...
...however, I can't get Google Play Store to work at all. I've done much research, and some say to just wait 3+ days for google play services to update itself, etc. no dice... I left it plugged in and running, checking each day to ensure it was still connected to wifi so that it could do whatever it needed to do. Nope. I found a thread on another webforum where someone described the exact problem, then at the end he said "problem solved, thank you" without actually describing what happened. Sad. sigh.
I've noticed that google play services isn't even on the stock firmware. instead, it's called google play framework. Perhaps that's part of the problem? I dunno.
I tried downloading the most recent version of google play services and manually installing the APK, but that didn't work either, google play store keeps crashing. Perhaps I need to also download a few more APK's go go along with it, but I need help identifying what is current.. or at least, I need to identify one recent enough that it can then update it self to current.
So.. I'm stuck. Can someone point me in the right direction to try to bring this fully STOCK TF101 up to at LEAST a version of google play store that works? APKs? tweaks?
Flashing to a custom rom is my LAST resort. I don't need any help doing that.. but I want to try to make Stock work again first.
BTW, that original Youtube app from stock all those years ago... it was pretty cool looking now I'm stuck with it.
Use Easyflasher:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1688012
This will put it back to factory new condition and remove Root.
Sorry if I wasn't clear. I have successfully flashed the unit back to stock rom and completely wiped and reset to factory. then I turned it on, and google play store won't run. I want to install apps normally.

I had the same problem.
I found the newest playstore on internet and installed it.
Then I had no problems anymore.
That seems to have worked! I had assumed I would need to update google play services first, but apparely I just needed a new Google Play Store APK. I found one that works here: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...google-play-store-6-0-7-android-apk-download/
I downloaded the APK and ran it, and the play store now runs and is updating all other apps on the old TF101. Sweet.
Dunno if Google Play Framework will automatically replace itself with Google Play Services or what, but I'll keep an eye out for that.
Just to followup and close this topic... The tablet is now up and running with multiple apps from the play store, and my wife is now using it to read kindle books and mess with her nursing app. I was planning to give it to her mother, but she intercepted it when it started working
So, basically - if you want to go back to stock firmware - flash to stock, factory reset, then download and install current playstore (as per link above) and don't worry about Google Play Services, it will sort itself out.
