As the title states, me and another guy are trying to port the CM7 to ARNOVA 7C G2
Arnova specs
msm 7627 surf+ processor
384 RAM
352 NAND (partitioned like this 5 mb boot.img/5mb recovery/120mb system/misc1mb/cache1mb/data(i dont remeber the size)
A 7inch screen
Android 2.3.3
Kernel 2.36.7 perf+
What i did till now:
We used the stock boot.img from the 2.3.3 rom because it has the drivers for wifi/bluetooth ect.
We builded a CM7 from scratch, that works on our device, bluetooth working/sensors/camera/3d acceleration/sound (everything but not the wifi)
Not working is the wifi and my opinion is that is not working because of this library libhardware_legacy.so (on the stock rom of our device this file has some things which are not present in the cm7 port)
This was my last port
here are the results from the adb logcat when i try to start the wifi (the wifi is starting but i dont see any networks)

I tried to move the libhardware_legacy.so to the cm7 from the stock rom, but i get a bootloop.
SO
My question are, what we should do ?
Try to recompile the cm7, using the stock boot.img ?
Is there a way to port the libhardware_legacy.so to the cm7 ?
Usually what are the library files used by the wifi ?
I will be greatfull for any answer or path to fallow.
So here is the problem. First i flashed sense4 build#6 by derefas. Then used build#7 kernel with build#6 ramdisk and flash. Build#6 booted!! everything works fine except wi-fi and hotspot. I tried fixing permission but no luck. Here is the Logcat:

I faced same problem with cute_prince kernel source. I compiled kernel and try to flash on build#6 or latest cm9 with appropriate ramdisk everything works fine except wi-fi and hotspot. I am not able to get logcat but i think it would be same as above. So plz if anybody could help me.
problem is in wpa_supllicant.conf i was talking to liverpool fan today morning about this itself
sense 4 uses wlan0 as controller where as in cm9 eth0 is used let me ask derefas too about somethings

same here but that happens when we use toggles in my kernel we are looking for a fix and have contacted cute_prince and liverpool has updated cm10 device tree for eth0 to wlan0 change
me too have some problem with wifi in custom roms(i mean every custom ics or jb roms,except gb roms):silly: ...
edit:i'm on apex rom series v1
Ok after talking to devs like cute_prince and liverpool fan we found that the problem is not with the kernel... Problem is in rom and from our side everything is ok in device tree... So the problem is in source as Liverpool fan told me toggle freezing is common in ics and jb... So we can't do anything... The only solution is to wait for the wifi toggle to turn off after few seconds and try turning on again from the settings menu as the problem occurs rarely

Well, it has been returned to me after an RMA, in which they sent me the same tablet. The WiFi was having trouble and would not turn on, it wouldj ust get forever stuck on 'wifi turning on'.
So as soon as I got back I unlocked the BL and then loaded TWRP on it. I'm quite proficient with ADB. Well after about a day, again, the WiFi would not turn on. I wiped the ROM, replaced the kernel, booted up, and it was still stuck at turning on. I have probably done every sort of wipe/re-ROM/kernel there is on planet earth, still is stuck at turning on.
Now what i'm trying to figure out is if I put it in airplane mode, format EVERYTHING, put a new ROM and kernel on it, how does the tab still know it's in airplane mode?
This POS is basically a $500 paperweight so **** it, I don't care if it catches on fire or explodes. So with that being said...Anyone got some ADB commands I can test out, start deleting ****, or whatever? I want to try and wipe basically / and see where I can go from there

Rom: Cyanogen Nightlies 10.1 or CleanRom 3.4.4 - Depends on the mood .
Not sure, I was able to load and boot up CM 10.1, so I assume one of the newer .30 JB loaders
Hard to tell what's going on with your tab.
The last Jelly Bean version was 10.4.4.25
ICS stopped at 9.4.5.30
Just a guess here I think you might still be on the ICS BL this may be why CM10 boots now.
Is a custom recovery still intact on your tablet?

Yeah, I have TWRP (the latest) on there, the tab works fine, everything works fine, but the wifi and bluetooth do not work. I wouldn't have been able t load the latest CROMI without the JB bootloader right? I was at 10.4.4.25 before I unlocked it and everything as well.
The only time I have seen WiFi not turn on, physically on the machine is when the wrong kernel modules have been loaded.
Other than that are you sure it is not a router issue. Does WiFi try to connect or does it physically not even bother to turn on?

When I got it back from RMA, it worked for about a day. Then it stopped, then I flashed a new rom, and it worked for about another day. Then it stopped working again, and then no matter what I do or flash or delete or wipe, it will not come back up.
WiFi is stuck at 'WiFi turning on..."
Like I stated, I have full access to TWRP, ADB and all those other things, and the tablet does boot up fine
So, doing some poking around - what interfaces does your device list?
For instance, when I going into the shell and do net command (ls /sys/class/net command), it returns the following interfaces;
dummy0
ip6tn10
lo
sit0
no wlan, no eth0?
edit;
checked my OneX, and indeed there is a wlan0 in there

And this even without active WLAN connection, on CROMI 3.4.1.
Do you get any interesting messages in dmesg or logcat?

I get wlan0 and p2p0 as well - oops _that beat me to it.
Indeed, quite a bit on this in LogCat, maybe this will shed some light. I've snipped the important bits I think for you guys;
Edit; also uploaded the text file for ya's
this first piece is the most relevant piece, this is when I let the logcat get stable and then do a svc wifi enable after it was in a disabled state. This is all the log activity from that process;

If you run lsmod - do you get bcmdhd and cfg80211 in the list?
More ideas to check:
* ls -l /system/lib/modules
* ls -l /system/etc/firmware
* paste the output of "dmesg" after a reboot
Sure thing, here you go, see attached.
I actually work at NVIDIA. I should just cross the street to the DEV building and slap whoever designs the Tegras.

Hm, "bcmdhd" is missing from the lsmod output. dmesg shows that it was loaded and then had a problem:

Awesome, thank you - I know i'll probably have some free time this afternoon to mess around with it, i'll see if there is anything I can come up with, looks like i'll start with seeing if that firmware path exists on my device.
Blarhg, I basically give up, after hours of trying to push and pull and insmod different BCM4329 kernels and such. I am on ParanoidAndroid now, of course, still same issue. At this point, I will settle for WiFi over USB through my laptop if I can get it to work.
Hi to all,
i flashed long ago the viper saga 1.0,and everything worked fine,'till last week,when the wifi stopped working..when i turn it on,the wifi icon still say that is turning it on,but after a while,it says "wifi error",and it turns off. also the hotspot and the bluetooth did the same stuff.
So,i updated the viper saga at the 2.2.1 version,the latest one..but nothing changed!everything isn't working as before,with the previous rom!
Anyone got a suggestion?helps will be appreciated..:victory::laugh:
my desire is s-off,and the error occurs also with others roms..the only thing that works is the mobile internet..that's it..
If the problem appeared without flashing anything or modifying system files, and the problem persists after installing another rom, it looks like a hardware fault to me. Sorry.
I tried to use another rom,but nothing worked as well..no pass through,no bluetooth,no wifi,no tethering...nothing of this stuff!

Enter into your bootloader, check the details there. If its unlock it will be written there, vise versa if it is s-off it will be written there.
From the info there then u verify if its related with your boot.img or something else.

All I know is that essential devices not working is usually a symptom of a mismatch between the kernel version and the module versions. This shouldn't be possible if you're indeed S-OFF (and didn't do anything totally idiotic), but I'd invite you to check (as per the post above mine) anyway, just to be sure that you really are fully S-OFF. I also want to ask you to post the output of the lsmod command (e.g. connect your phone to your PC and run 'adb shell lsmod') just to fully check.

No, that's all perfectly OK.
What's the output of lsmod? And what does logcat say when you try to flip the wi-fi on?

So your lsmod is empty, meaning you don't have the correct driver loaded. Your logcat says the same thing: the interface does not exist (ergo, the kernel does not (yet) know how to drive your network card).
Try flashing amidabuddha's b2b kernel from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1845039
no sorry..ismod doesn't work..it tells me command not found..

Changing the wifi country code didn't solve it. Is there any way to find out if wlan0 is present as a hardware unit at all(or broken), a kind of lspci.
try all possible solutions from here

Thanks, but I already did. Kernel was flashed properly, RIL/Radio maches and I actualy had this problem before the bootloader was unlocked on the stock rom.

go to system->etc->aifi and delete the wpa_supplicant.conf file
but first copy it to the sdcard just in case
