[Q] androidroot.org - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

hi there im new to this root thing i found a online company called androidroot.org they charge 29.99 to root phones is this a ripoff a joke or a good deal thank you all in advance and this site looks super great thank you all

First of all, which device do you have? Also, rooting is not very difficult if you read the specific guide for your device. I wouldn't recommend shelling out 30 bucks for that

Maybe you should try reading the guide for your phone, if you think rooting is beyond you, then consider paying for it. But I highly recommend at least try yourself, but beware, don't do anything wrong, rooting has potential to brick your device meaning you won't be able to use it if it gets hard bricked. This forum will soon be deleted as this is the wrong device you posted in. All the best

If I couldn't root a phone my self the most I'D spot out is $5 or $10 bucks. $30 is a scam/rip off.

DO NOT pay these guys.
Developers on XDA provide root for our devices for free. these scum bags are charging people for the work XDA developers do.

You should ask in the GS3 forum, not the HTC One section.
I would suggest you begin by looking at this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2079399
More specifically, this thread has instructions for root:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762709
It appears to be a simple process, only 12 steps.
Remember to do alot of reading before attempting anything.

Toolkit for when the phone is released

Hey guys / girls. I've been making toolkits for phones for a month now and they gained pretty good recognition. Would you guys be interested if I made one? I know it is early to ask, but the more input the better!
If you never saw my toolkit, look at my signature.
Without out a doubt. It would be great to have an All-in-one toolkit. Would make it easier to explain to new-comers. Would also make it easier in general.
Bump.
Any links for recoveries, kernels, mods would be appreciated so I can start the toolkit!
yes please!!!!!
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA
That looks like a very useful/helpful tool. I'm sure the One XL will be a very popular device on AT&T, and I know a lot of users would love something like that.

Hell yes!!!
Fantastic! Thank you!!!!!!!
I made toolkits for the One X and One S. Is the One XL not released? or is the development that bad? lol

It will take time for the One XL, as it's up to the carriers to pick up the slack.
Nice to know. I thought development was that bad already lol.

ok so you gotta provide more information about this rooting solution you have going on. You cant just post in the dev section and expect everyone to be on your level and understand what your doing here... more info would be helpful to be clear and not have to answer the same question a billion times.
edit:
Ok I see this is for rooting your g2x using the zergrush process.. a little explanation goes a long way.. Although this should probably be in the general section since its not dev'in... just my opinion.

your missing the point.. you cant just post stuff in the dev section and have no info on it.. not everyone is fluent in geek. its not about simple instructions its about providing the most info for the end user so noobs have no issues testing your time and effort..
Or where you got it from. Unless you learned this stuff, with in a couple days, if so then Congrats.

Maybe, mind you this is a stretch, this should go in the apps/themes section above general since it does do something for the phone.

What is this? Root? Is that short for root beer? Wow its been almost a year now since I saw that topic brought up. Well thinking back the release of v21e. Hmmm what was that stuff we used to get back in the day? It is simple enough to do I guess. It is always good to have more than 1 solution. I really forgot about it being that all but 3 Rome have root.
And come on, why does it have to be a baby seal?
Does any one know if this will work on total 2.3.4? I would try but after I post I am flashing kwes's 2.3.4

My rom is already rooted. If youre on stock v21y you can easily root using super oneclick if you dont want to flash my rom, however my rom adds more then just root. Well its not my rom, I just kanged LG and made some improvisations.
On topic: OP you should really add more info to your posts if you intend on posting in the dev section. The majority of us know there are alot of easy ways to gain root, hell you can root a g2x with a scientific calculator if you put your mind to it...
Back off topic: i loled at the baby seal punching thanks.

OK good luck. You could just read a bit, since I have spent hours making a guide or two, many others such as Ronnie and redpoint have spent hours putting guides and grouping all the info here and Devs have spent countless hours creating roms and discovering root methods. You can take some time to read the information and attempt to understand. If something is unclear or you don't quite understand then you can ask questions and I'm sure many people will be glad to help!

it's not that no one here is willing to help you out, you just need to know what you're doing before you do anything because of the huge risks you take in the unlocking process. if you're not willing to put in the time to read about everything before you ask questions and ask for hand-holding, then you should reconsider unlocking.
Here's some material to start with
Sticky #3: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2232141 (pay attention to rule 1)
Sticky #4: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1754018
The unlocking thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2283760 - read this 5 times over before you actually do anything. and follow each instruction VERY carefully.
Once you're done unlocking: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2286587
Lastly, people are here to help each other, not babysit you through unlocking. If you ask nicely, someone may decide to help you through it. We've all put in hours into reading and researching and searching for answers. Work like this on a phone requires a base level of knowledge so you should strive to learn enough so that you're able to do what you need to in order to unlock your phone. Also, a post like this belongs in the Q&A subforum.
Good luck!

I told him to do so, so he could go to completely another forum (not XDA) and ask this noob question there, where nobody knows him.
Now you get it?
It would be very funny experience for him to find out what other people on other frums know about SGS4 or phone flashing at all.
I would probably get people telling me off and not wanting to teach me... Happens a lot on these forums, luckily the constant S4 questions have kind of died down here and people like myst tend to point them in the right direction instead of just making a fuss about it.
Why not just report it and move on?
Anyhow, congrats on new device, go forth & make it great like you did for sgs4g..
