Simple idea to have Pattern Lock AND retain Quick Launch shortcuts - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hey guys
So I was torn between pattern lock for its security, and quick unlock for its ability to quickly launch apps from the unlock screen.
I thought of a simple idea to integrate the quicklaunch into the pattern lock.
The idea is this- if you hold your finger on the last dot of your unlock pattern, a quick launch menu would appear. If instead, you quickly release after you swiped your pattern, the phone would unlock.
Now I know that we can't just hack the main lock screen, but I wonder if this could be implemented as a type of widget that could be then used on things such as WidgetLocker.
Anyone have any thoughts or ideas on this?

Need advice on Lockscreen app.

So I have the LockBot Pro on my HTC Hero and was loving it over the last few weeks as I have start customizing my phone (Non-Root.) I have been using the option to swipe and then enter a 4 character numerical code to unlock the phone.
Today I happen to notice that when I bring up the lock screen where you either have to swipe and/or enter the code, instead of doing either, if I just hit the call button, it bypasses it all, therefore making the purpose of the lock screen pointless. I wanted the lock screen with the numerical pin code for security purposes, and hitting the call button to bypass is not acceptable to me.
Do I maybe have an option set incorrectly that is allowing this to occur or is this a bug in the program?
Can anyone recommend me a good, sorry, a great Lock Screen APP (Preferably) one where you can set some kind of code you must enter to unlock the phone?
Thank you,
Whiteice

[Q] Android Lockscreen

Hey there,
Probably a stupid question but when I add a pattern lock to my phone I lose the default lock screen.
When pressing the unlock button:
Without pattern lock - there are two sliders, unlock and sound on/off
With pattern lock - it goes straight the enter pattern thing.
I want to have a pattern, but also have the sliders, how can I do this?
Cheers!
I don't think you can.
i don't think you can either.. guess you must make a sacrifice

is are a way to disable the regular HTC lockscreen but...

I want to enable pattern lock but I want to disable the HTC lockscreen.
Right now if I enable the pattern lock and if I wanted to unlock my phone, I still see the regular htc drag circle to unlock before it goes to the pattern screen. So I'd basically have to lock screens that I have to unlock.
Is there away around this?

[Q] Jelly Bean Lock Screen - Allow slide and pattern?

I just updated from Gingerbread to Jelly Bean. In GB I had the pattern set on the lock screen. After I input the pattern, it would require me to swipe to unlock. At the time I thought this was annoying that I had to do both.
With Jelly Bean, the lock screen shows the weather and calendar as well as allowing me to swipe in different directions to access different apps. I love this new feature. However, I also want my phone to be secured so I would like to have the pattern security on. Ideally when pressing the power button I would be presented with the "slide" lock screen with the calendar/weather and choice of sliding a direction for apps. Then when I slide to unlock or go to an app, it would ask for the pattern security before letting me in. This would allow me to secure the phone and entire directly where I want to go. It would also allow me to quickly see the weather info or calendar without entering a pattern first.
Does anyone know if this is possible to do? I love the slide lock screen options, but I feel the need to secure the phone with a pattern/pin/password as well.
It pretty much works just like you described. The only exception being that after you enter the pattern lock you don't have to swipe.

I know, but I'd like to have the swipe screen there first. That way I can swipe directly into an app and/or see the calendar/weather before I have to draw the pattern. So when I press the power button, I'd like to be presented with the swipe screen first, then after swiping to an app or to unlock, it would ask me to supply the pattern/password/pin. That way, I would get the advantages of the swipe screen and the security of the pattern/password/pin.
I'm just wondering if there is a way to force it to work like this, but I'm guessing there isn't.

Is there a second lockscreen app?

So I would like to have a lockscreen similar to the standard swipe to unlock (without pin). My problem is that I have mandatory encryption on my device, so it requires a pin lockdown within at least 14 minutes. But when using this option, powering on before 14 minutes goes straight to the home screen instead of a simple swipe with no pin. I would like a swipe requirement so that my phone wont go ape in my pocket while I am playing golf. Since disabling the home power-on is not an option, I was hoping there might be a secondary swipe to unlock app out there. Anyone know of such an animal?
Nevermind! Found an awesome app called widget locker that does exactly what I needed!
