I've been experiencing some issues with the newest Jelly Bean build for my GS3. Every so often, if I'm using a music application, the app will freeze and refuse to continue with any audio output. If I exit the app, my whole phone ends up freezing and then crashes. I'm not rooted (yet) and I don't believe I've done anything to my phone to cause this problem. Is this common with the latest update? My searches did not yield any similar results. The two music apps I've used, both affected by this are player pro, and the Google Play music application.

The version prior to the latest update of Google Music had this issue but since the update I've never experienced it again. Before that I uninstalled updates to it and it worked just fine. You can try that for a few days then update the app and see if that works.

Question: Hi there
the stock video app on my tab plays videos partially then stops and goes back to the video list. Is this a known bug and if it is does anyone know how to fix it? If i access videos via the file explorer it plays fine!
Also is there any way to play all videos continuously and randomly or a player that does this?
Thanks

Hmm. Playing the video partially is weird. What if you keep tapping the screen? will it finish playing?
If you click on the menu button, there is a option that says "Auto Play Next".
Hi there
the video stops suddenly so i am unable to tap the screen. It then returns to video app screen. The same video will play fully if accessed via the file explorer, that's the weird thing. This means i can not use the auto play next feature within the video app although the video app is what plays the video when opened via explorer.

Does this happen on all video's?
Hi there yes it does?

Have you tried any other video players just to see if it also happens outside of the stock player?
Yes, i jave tried numerous apps such as qq, zimly and mixzing and they all work fine. They just do not have what i need, which is the ability to arrange videos in various orders such as date or size as well as auto play next or random play. The stock player is perfect for this need. As above, if i open.the videos via the my files folder it uses the stock app to play the videos and the problem is gone. This would be fine but this way you lose the ability to auto play video. Its extremely frustrating! The video app seems to play about 2 mins of videos then audio goes slightly jerky and it stops and returns to app. Is there a way to re install the video app? Thanks

Reinstalling the video app would require Root. Have you done that or considered it?
By advised rooting does invalidate your warranty. Samsung issued a newsletter to all service centres advising them if they received any phones that had been rooted they were not to carry out repairs under warranty.
Anyway, has it happened all the time since owning the Tab or has it only started playing up recently?
If it has been playing up all the time it may be something to do with the codecs of the video where when you select direct from the player it picks up the problem but misses when you select the video using a third-party selector (My Files you mentioned).
If that is the case there is nothing you can do about it other than ensure your movie files don't have the same codecs.
If it has been playing up only recently it will be some form of corruption that has crept in.
The only way you are going to get around this is either root your Tab and reinstall the Player.app (providing you can get hold of one that is).... or carry out a Factory Reset that should clear the problem.
Hi thanks the advice. I will try a factory reset abd hopefully that will work as i do not want to root the device.

Using Hellfire ics, stock browser and dolphin do not let me play flash videos for some reason, I can hear audio, though.
Boat browser lets me play flash but keeps crashing whenever I rotate the screen.

You download flash player?
I heard there was a problem being addressed with the rotate fc tho, I think people are using chrome...
Pin it to Win it.
Yes, version 11.

Okay well get Google chrome and rotate the screen prior to starting the video and you should be fine
Pin it to Win it.
I've noticed this problem in Opera too.
If you are using YouTube, you must play in high quality, otherwise the video playback won't work properly.
Kind of inconvenient, but ics is still new for us.

Could be worse... you could have to watch in regular quality all the time lol
Pin it to Win it.
I installed eos3 and the latest gapps package from goomanager and whenever I go into the video chat part of talk it crashes.
Any idea?

Alas, I'm seeing the same thing..
I'm using the CM10 builds, and whilst the talk app works with text, video calls just cause the app to FC,
same thing here on AOKP jb, text and voice working well, video chat FC
I keep getting that "error has occurred please try again later" whenever i try watching YouTube through browser or when tethering. I tried using secured proxies when tethering and tried different versions of flash player just in case. Does this happen to anyone else? Does any one know of a fix? I'm also using cm10 running 4.2 gapps. Everything works besides that.

It shouldnt work from your browser period due to no android flash support, unless your running a browser that still supports flash. CM 10 defaults it to your gallery to play most videos, but I only run mine from the app which works great. So your trying to tether to pc? Shouldnt have problems with that if you have tethering in your carrier plan. I've used mine to tether pc and MW3 simultaneously and it works fine. Your tether should in no way affect another devices (pc/laptop) ability to stream youtube. What are you tethering to?

Tethering works fine except when trying to play YouTube on other devices. The same error that it gives me when trying to play YouTube on my phone through the browser is the same error i get on other devices.
Edit: I still have flash player installed. Without it i can't watch anything. Well, not much and something's and animations won't play

Go into developer tools in settings and uncheck force 2d rendering. This will fix a lot of your animation issues. If your tethering to another phone
YouTube still isn't going to work through the browser. Your only luck is to use the play app(youtube). Put the app on the other phone as well.
I have the same issue as op . Must be tmobile blocking it . Any one find a solution ?

Fixed this using hotspot shield VPN . You may need to install tun.ko installer if the VPN doesn't connect .

The recent update to google play music has broken the ability for 3rd party apps to 'play tracks' via Google play music.
I use the smartconnect app to play tracks through Google play music when it detects my car's Bluetooth, but with recent update to the play music app this no longer works.
I've gone into apps and uninstalled the recent update but the same issue persists.
Anybody else running into this issue?

I realize this is a very obscure error, but any help would be greatly appreciated...
What directory is the google play music app installed in? Maybe I can start looking for something in there.
I got google play music all access for the seamless integration. And now it's not working....
I submitted a bug report through the feedback option, but google never responds to that.

So I tested this with an older device I reset it to factory and the play tracks (which launches google play music at stays playing music) works.
Can somebody tell me how can I know what files the update installed?
