KLD Flip Stand Case - Nexus 4 Accessories

For those interested, here's yet another recently released flip case for our Nexus 4's that's a bit different than what's already out there. The stand function seems extremely flimsy and not very likely to work, and there's no cutout on the front cover for the ear speaker. There is a slot for a single card on the inside cover with a thumb hole for easy slide out.

Aluminium Hardcase for X7510 (Pics)

Howdy all,
I have owned an x7510 (XDA Flint) for about 5 months now and unfortunately the original leather case that came with the phone broke. The small holding arms which help attach the phone to the case fractured and eventually broke off.
I found suitable leather replacements on eBay for about £10.00 but decided to go for a more solid solution. I remember picking up an Aluminium Hard case for my very first PDA hp Ipaq 2210 which I used for about 4 years and it’s still in perfect condition. So I decided to go for the Aluminium Hard case for the x7500/x7510 I found on eBay.
I have only used it for a few hours so I guess I can’t post a full review but I am just so pleased with it I wanted to give you all decent look.
The whole case is manufactured from .5mm thick hardened aluminium with the regular holes and cut-outs for buttons, camera, stylus, speakers, slider and sockets the only button that is inaccessible while in the case is the reset. The entire case is lined with a thin layer of soft foam which serves to protect the phone from impact as well as hold the phone nice and snug. The hinges on the end of the case are double jointed to allow them to fold back on themselves to put the phone is the standard sitting position. There is a small horizontal window similar to the one on the keyboard which allows you to look through to the display when the phone is closed.
One of the more interesting features is the hinges. When the case is in the open position they fold to form a block and provide extra support to the heavy screen.
The case weighs 93g which is about the same weight as the keyboard alone and when put together with the phone the total weight is 465g.
The whole case feels very sturdy and has a beautiful black finish, when closed up the keyboard sits perfectly over the phone and activates the status screen.
One problem I have noticed which is probably quite an obvious one. The keyboard which uses magnets to hold itself onto the original case will not work on this aluminium case. This does not pose a massive problem as the keyboard fits nice and snug in its foam cut out but when closing the phone the keyboard will often favour sticking to the bottom of the phone instead of staying in held in the case. I’m looking into ways to solve this, possibly by taking the metal pads from the original case and adding them under the foam lining to provide the keyboard with a bit more grip.
Anyway as I said before I am very pleased with the case and if I were asked to mark it out of 10 I would have to give it a 9.
I am still unable to find this case from an online retailer, but a number of them are avalible from ebay for around £10. An auction for one can be found Here
I hope someone finds this information useful.

I have the same case which I bought from eBay. As regards the keyboard not sticking to the bottom half of the case, I found a solution: Get those poster stickers that come in pairs. One piece sticks to the inside bottom of the case, the other to the underside of the keyboard. The mating faces are vecrose and the keyboard gets secured to the bottom half of the case. I even did same for the top half of the case and the main x7510 unit.
Or you can buy some Adhesive Magnet Strip that is sold for crafts people to make fridge-magnets.
i used this for my u1000 around a year ago. although the look and feel of the device looked great (not to mention the protection offered), i did notice a small significant decrease in phone signal. a bar or sometimes 2 would be lost. i also found that the gps signal took a longer time to lock on. my solution was to drill holes on the upper side. this was discussed in another thread here in the athena section. that's where i got the idea and the holes took care of my concerns as mentioned above. i also remember using double-sided velcro stickers to ensure the keyboard stayed in its place. to make it "sink", i had to cut up the rubber lining beneath to accomodate the velco. this ensured that the overall case shut properly without any gaps on the sides.
cheers

belkin book case modified

Hi
When I bought my note 8 here in Australia the only case available other than the samsung was the belkin folio type case. I didn't like the samsung as i use my tablet in landscape mode on my desk at work and the samsung landscape is too unstable for my finger pokes.
I like the folio type case even though it adds a little bulk, it is soft leather bulk, and in landscape the volume controls are on top where they belong.
But the belkin does not have magnets so no turn on off with case, this for me is a must have feature.
So..... I took one of my old ipad smart covers and cut out a small square that contains two of the square magnet sections near the edge ( there seems to be a couple of different shape magnets in ipad cases.)
I then used this to hunt down the magnet sensor in the note 8.(see pic), I then marked this on the folio case and then went to work with a scalpel, cutting a square in cover and digging out the main bulk that is a cardboard liner between the outer leather and the inner screen protector. Then gluing it all back together with the magnets replacing the cardboard.
It seems to work perfectly.
I am hoping that these magnets are just the right strength but have no way of knowing scientifically of course. They don't appear too strong because if i move them away from the proper location they stop working pretty quickly.
Be aware that there are a number of threads that say magnets and pen digitizers dont mix well but you can make your own call on that.
yes it could have been neater but hey it works!

Love Mei Case

This case is the third case I've bought for my Tmobile Note Edge. Incipio was the first one that I bought at the local ATT store to protect the phone but I hated it because it was getting scratched so easily and IMO looked so cheap/plain. The second case was UAG maverick with Flygrip. I love Flygrip and UAG combination but wanted a change. So I ordered the Love Mei case from Ebay. The case itself is freaking heavy and looks awesome. I don't mind the weight nor the HUGE size. The case makes the phone look like a small tablet. Accessing the earphone jack, USB port and the S pen is easy. I love the overall design but there are many negatives....
First, you are not going to be able to use the fingerprint capability since the home, menu and back buttons are covered with metal buttons.
Second, the 6 screws has to be tighten just right, not so finger tight or loose. Otherwise the 3 buttons WILL NOT work.
Third, the IR blaster will only work if you aim straight at the TV or other devices because the IR transmitter is now buried about 1cm in the tunnel.
Fourth, this doesn't apply to me but the microphone holes aren't as wide as the UAG where they made it compatible for Verizon model as well.
I haven't used the phone outside yet but I don't think I will have issue of losing signal since part of the back panel is rubber and foam.
Would I recommend this case to others? No, because of the reason #2. It took me sometime time to get it just right.

[Q] S6 flip case

Apologies for another case thread, but has anyone found a decent slimline 360 flip case yet where the front cover bends round to the flush with the back (which is useful for car holders)?
I see there are some official covers, including the fully transparent one, but its not clear whether the front bends back. Spigen (see mobile fun) appear to have one that does bend back but I believe there is lip on the side where the lock is and it looks a bit chunky.
I would prefer a vertical flip like my current s3 Melkco (which seems to have a s6 case but this doesnt seem to be selling in the UK yet) but the only one I can find looks to be a cheap one on amazon (aLLreli).
TIA!

Pu Leather back cover case: any reviews?

Saw this case on honorbuy and it seems rather nice. Adds only 1mm to the thinckness, but the metal+leather look would upgrade the device quite a bit.
Does anyone have this one and could maybe share their experience? Handling, build quality, etc.
Thanks in advance.
The same, but $5 only. You can read more here. Use google translate, it`s in Russian.
Thanks for the tip, I'm not saving much though, planning to order that one + the note 2 itself, and both will come from EU.
Translating in case someone else is interested:
"Using this for 2 days now, like it very much. The cover has good quality, leather is glued on well, don't think it will come off. Fits nicely, doesn't rattle or squeak, no gaps. All holes for all connectors are on their places, charging cable/headphones can be inserted normally. The thickness increases by 1mm and the power/volume buttons are not inset as on the original cover. The chrome frame is not painted but double plastic, so it shouldn't peel off. The cover doesn't affect speaker volume or photo quality, no glare/reflections and the camera+flash is laid deeper so it won't get scratches even though it doesn't have that sticking out thing as on the original near the speaker. Recommending to buy."
The back cover fits very well (hard to remove). The leather makes great grip - hard to drop the phone. The weak part is the frame - made from very soft plastic, very easy to scratch with keys or coins. It's better to wear in empty pockets or in bag. Mine is scratches from the keys so will replace it with hard case + the original back cover.
I got one from Aliexpress, fit and finish is very good for the price, buttons feel snappy. All the holes are in the right places. Makes the phone feel more premium in hand. At first it was hard to remove, but after removing a few times it become very easy to remove just like the original cover.
My main problem with this cover is that the "PU leather" feels like those cheap plastic foam sheets manufacturers put between the keyboard and the screen on some laptops. I had my share of PU leather products and it's certainly not how this "PU leather" feels. The phone also doesn't fit that well into my hand with it on, mainly because while the edges that go towards the display are rounded, the ones that go towards your hand are rather sharp, compared to the original cover. It is hard to remove, and after the second time the thin plastic part around the USB port snapped. Wasn't really worth it, tbh.
I bought this case from another place on aliexpress and I'm really happy with it.

@Leader2light: does yours actually feel anything like PU leather? Mine doesn't.
