My phone has started doing this since update to viper 3.2.3

I have a galaxy s3, but mine did this as well. To fix it, use titanium backup and freeze the stock keyboard and make sure to set swift key as default. It will or should keep swift key as your primary keyboard

I use SwiftKey as well and started to see this issue after moving to a JB ROM .... apparently, it's a know issue affecting paid apps on Android 4.1.1
Per SwiftKey support page:
"The issue is that Google Play installs paid apps in a particular location on your phone and that in some versions of Android (particularly 4.1 on Samsung devices) this location is not available at the point in the boot process where keyboards are being switched on. So your phone does not know that you have SwiftKey, and it defaults back to the phone's keyboard.
We are unable to control where Google Play installs the app, and also unable to do anything about the way in which your phone boots up, so we are essentially powerless."
Any devs think up a solution to this??!

Sense restarts after installing/uninstalling apps w/new Market!

I updated to the new Market and it works perfectly BUT - Sense seems to restart after I leave the Market and have just uninstalled or installed/updated apps. Is this normal behavior? I've been using Launcher Pro for most of the time I've had the phone and this is extremely annoying. I understand why this is happening since on HC 3.1 the launcher refreshes/restarts after installing/updating apps to make sure widgets are updated, etc. HOWEVER, Sense takes too long to restart where as the stock HC 3.1 launcher is fast.
Anybody else having issues?
I have the original market that came with the phone (didn't look right to call it the 'stock market' )..and I still have the same issue. Sense always reboots after any install.
Not experienced any issues at all with the Market - old or new
I got new market no issues.
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App
Using the market that came stock on the phone and no restarts with any app install or exit of the market.
Hmm. So it's a mix. I wonder what causes it then, maybe having a certain app or widget installed?

I have problem with sense restarting but not sure if its after an app install..
What ROMs are people using? Do you have apps disabled with temp root?
I'm on the one on my sig and not temp rooted so no apps disabled
I get a sense reboot most times but not all. Most of the time when I install an app from the market and press back multiple times before the software catches up, it reboots. And just now. I uninstalled an application, and hit the back button and sense reboots. And if I just view the market, browse around and hit back to exit, it didn't as well. Maybe it's sense's way of soft rebooting?
It keeps happening, it's driving me crazy. Happens on installs, uninstall and updates.

Complete stock, never rooted or anything..
This happened on my wildfire. It had something to do with the app being installer onto the SD card.

Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App
I do not recall Sense restarting on the original market. With the new market I have seen it happen 80% of the time. For me though it seems to happen if I either go through things too fast or spend to long within market. If I pop in and out I have not seen a reboot yet. Not something I have really tried to force just what I have seen thusfar.
Edit: Phone is stock
I uninstalled the new market, doesn't seem ready for prime time or the would have a update in the market. It didn't show updates for me.

Do you guys have the Spare Parts app installed and changed the way it manages memory? I changed it to aggressive and Sense would restart each time I hit the home button. I changed it back to normal and it hasn't happened since.
If you guys haven't, then maybe try installing it and manually changing it to normal.
Was the new Market for me. I uninstalled it and it seems to have fixed the issue.

Swype keyboard small

Has anyone had problems with the Swype keyboard? Mine is smaller than normal.
Edit: I tired uploading a screenshot but I'm having issues with my phone

This appears to be an issues once you reboot the phone.
A temporary fix right now is to disable and then enable Swype again.
I'll post it on the swype forums and let them know

Yeah that was working for me, but doesn't work anymore after a second reboot. I am getting used to the smaller keyboard now. I like being able to see more of the screen.
I'm having the same problem with my Swype keyboard. After every reboot, it becomes extremely small and unusable. The only way I can get it back to normal is by reinstalling it. Anyone else have a better solution?

Disabling swype, switching back to one of the other keyboards and then switching back to Swype seems to work for me.

Yeah, except it seems to be missing some features like swyping punction to the space bar to insert question marks and exclamations and swyping up for capital letters. I've gotten so used to those that I go to do it and it doesn't work on the HTC keyboard.
Found this thread on the swype forums: http://forum.swype.com/showthread.p...-Error-This-screen-size-is-not-supported-quot

[Q] Keyboard keeps reverting to default

So today I had to get a refurbished skyrocket since mine decided to start restarting constantly every two seconds. Got the new one, rooted it and such, and put Nexusmod 4.3 on. Installed my usual keyboards, swype for when I'm driving, swiftkey for when I'm at work, and GO Keyboard for when I use emojii on twitter. I use the built in task manager alot, and each time I clear processes and apps, it resets back to stock keyboard. Never had this issue before. Help?

I didn't want to make a second topic.. and I did search for this the best I could from the app, but is there a freeze list of apps anywhere? I want the best battery life I can get.

[Q] HTC Sense Input

I recently noticed the arrow keys reappearing on the portrait keyboard even though I have them turned off in options (settings>language&keyboard>htc sense input>arrow keys "OFF"). I have cleared htc sense input data and this takes care of the resetting issue until I play any kind of full screen video. This included youtube in full screen, angry birds, vevo, etc. I thought that it might be an app so I put my phone into safe mode...but the same issue occurs. I even went as far as doing a full reset, but still the issue continues. I really could care less about the arrow keys, I just want to make sure at this point that it is just some kind of software issue that may be resolved with a future update, and not a hardware issue with my phone in particular. My phone is completely stock and fully updated. HTC hasn't emailed back yet, so I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this issue? btw, this may be a well know issue, but I have only had the phone for a couple of weeks so any help would be much appreciated.

i have this same issue. they come back even when i turn them off. the only way to get rid of them again is to make sure the keyboard shows up then turn the phone into landscape mode then back to portrait mode, then the arrows are gone. its a glitch in the software or something.
Is there a way you can disable the arrow keys on stock rom and unrooted? I'm on android 4.0.4 and sense 4.1, but i can't see the option in HTC sense input in where you can turn off the arrow keys..

It's under HTC Sense Input, make sure to look under all of the "advanced settings" , dive into the sub-menus.

When i go to advanced settings, there are no sub-menus.. is it just me? i really don't want any 3rd party keyboard because the stock keyboard is just great, it's just i can't find any option that can disable the arrow in the keyboard. Even in the advance settings, there is none..

I also have the international version, black MAO. However I am branded on T-Mobile. I doubt it is the reason, though. Not sure why.

Back button in browser does not always work

I'm having an issue with the back hardware key while using the stock internet browser. Sometimes, the button brings me back to the page I was on previously, but other times it just reloads the current page. This gets frustrating, as to go back ill have to hit the back button 10-15 X at times. Also, hitting "back" under the menu produces the same effect.
I know some websites have some way of directing you back to their page when you try to go back, as I've experienced this in my desktop. But this seems to be happening at random. I suppose I can't say for sure that it's the browser and my the website though. I've noticed this on the stock att rom, venom, and now infobar. Has anyone else experienced this?
I would try some different browsers, but it's nice having the stock browser log into my Gmail immediately and retrieve my bookmarks after flashing a new rom...

It's not a reloading problem, it is a problem of trying to go back one page.

Short of downloading dolphin browser or some other that you may prefer, there is really no fix. The browser is closing the windows behind you as you leave them. You might try a clean install and stock or vanilla kernel. Bulletproof gave me a few issues when I tried it.

I notice this too. My best advice would be a third party browser. Use Chrome perhaps? I like the stock browser. I just got into the habit of bringing up history and jumping back that way. It also reduces the amount of time and data wasted on pressing back through several pages.
