[MOD][APP] stock mms ICS & JB emoji [Updated] - Motorola Atrix 2

I have been running CM10.1 nightlys on my skyrocket, and my usual SMS/MMS replacement (GO SMS pro) has been causing problems. I have only been using GO SMS pro for the emoji support provided by the plugin since the emoji icons don't display properly on the stock MMS apps. My solution? Replace the emoji icons in the stock MMS app. I wanted to share what I have done, so here is 2 variations. One for ICS and another for JB. I have personally tested both on my Atrix2 using NUMA (for the ICS version) and the CM 10.1 port (for the JB version). They should both work on other DEODEXED ROMs. The ICS version I found so long ago that I forgot where I found it, but it had emoji support already enabled. The JB version I pulled from my Skyrocket, so thank the CyanogenMod team for that one. Screenshot taken from ICS version on NUMA, but both are pretty much the same:

Do you know if i use accents, increases the number of characters?
Because, in the stock app, for example, i write 3 words. But, when i write the 4th letter with an accent, decrease the characters available.
The words with the accents are: á é í ó ú. And if i wrote them, i send about 2 or more messages.

That would probably still be the same since the emoji icons were all that I changed.

Just tried this because I really like the stock message app on JB. I tried it on Paranoid Alpha 5 and works flawlessly. Now I can finally get the full integration of the stock messaging app! Thanks!

Updated JB version with resized icons (they seemed really big to me) and a few that I had missed. I'll try to update the ICS version by tomorrow.

Wow, I forgot all about this.
I'm not sure I even have these anymore as they're no longer necessary since all of the newer custom ROMs already have the emoji icons present. If you want a JB version you could just pull the MMS.apk from any JB custom ROM zip. If you want the ICS version, I'll have to look on my PC when I get home. If I don't still have it, it'll be easy enough to re-create it as this was nothing more than a very, very slightly themed app.

[I9003][FAKE]Some pathetic fake attempt at making a ROM look stock

So I have ported Cyanogenmod 7 over there are still quite some bugs here and there.
Bugs:
1) the market is the old one(greyish)and cannot update.
2) the firmware version is somwhat written as dxkb2 and build number is written as froyo.dxkb2.)have no idea why.
3) the adw settings are not listed in the main setting menu, they are in a seperate menu(like adw launcher, have no idea why as well??)
4) the notification bar is like the stock froyo's(probably because i have used some coded source codes of froyo as that is the only way to port as we do not have full gb source codes for our phone yet, there are also some files that are coded from the sgs9000 gb source. I have tried to code as much gb source codes that are compatible with our phone as possible but some still has to be replaced by froyo coded files)
These are the bugs i found so far.

MIUI_Au Changelog (Since 2.3.2):
Official Changelog here
Updated to Sandvold 0.4.4.4.1 (fixes camera preview, multitouch)
Upgraded lockscreen, MIUI Gallery and alarm clock, reorganised Settings menu
NOT WORKING
Camera can be unstable
FM Radio not included
Contact numbers sometimes not matched properly
USB Tethering
Probably more
REQUIREMENTS
Requires an ext3/4 partition to be the second partition on your SD Card.
Will install on any HBOOT, and symlink system folders to /data if necessary
Only stock HBOOT, Data++ and Sense can perform data wipe without rom reinstallation, due to system files needing to be moved for other HBOOT's.
INSTALLATION
If you restore apps or data using Titanium or MIUI Backup, there may be problems due to changes from GB to ICS. If you do have any, restore apps one by one to find the culprit.
Make sure you have an ext3/4 partition setup as the second partition on your sd card, otherwise you will have very little memory to use as data2ext won’t work.
Please understand this is a very beta version, so expect errors.
There is no FM radio, so please don’t bother complaining.
Any errors, feel free to post but do not demand a solution.
Flash at your own risk.
If you experience any serious problems, we recommend you do a full wipe/factory reset then flash again.
SUPPORT INSTRUCTIONS
I will NOT be responding to any more posts about problems unless you can prove/state the following:
You have NOT restored any apps from a backup from a GB rom.
You have tried a full wipe/factory reset.
You have used google to try to find the answer yourself.
You have read the comments to see if the problem is already reported.
You have read the entire post and followed the instructions provided.
If the problem is related to apps FC’ing, you provide a logcat of the FATAL EXCEPTION.
If the problem is low memory, post the output of “df” and “mount” commands in terminal.
Do NOT ask for features/apps from MIUI GB to be included. They are when they are.
Any other reports, unless I deem them to be reasonable, will be ignored. Take no offence, but if I don’t answer (and trust me I’m very good at answering the questions promptly unless I’m asleep) it means you haven’t done the above, so read properly and try again.
Do NOT ask about any device other than the HTC Desire GSM.
Completely unofficial port. For more information and downloads, proceed to MIUI_Au.
Awesome, will be giving this a go!
Been using from first release and I love it!
Lennox is doing a great job!
Am I weird, where's the menu to setup WiFi?
Well looks good, but going back to Gingerbread since this is still Beta.
Good luck!
Never noticed that. Long press on wifi icon in notifications works as always.
Edit: Its under Wireless Networks > More... > Tethering and portable hotspots
Haven't fixed all the translations yet, been more worried about getting everything working.

You don't have the Superuser app any more, if that's what you mean. Superuser and app permissions can be found in the "Security" app now.
Seems to work great so far, but my battery life's not so great any more. Anyone else having that issue?
EDIT: Maybe this will help me: http://www.miui-au.com/howtos/reset-battery-indicator/
absoluty AWESOME, only we can wait to a full HW acceleration and video recording, after that this ROM will be the best to Desire

Theme support is implemented, but there are very few themes that support ICS MIUI for now. Give it time. And it's MIUI style messaging.

[THEMED APP] [CM/AOSP/TW] Dark Themed MMS v3.1 3/12/13 - Quick Reply, Group, Emojis -

This is my first themeing attempt. It took me a lot of time, and I have posted it in some rom and mod threads, but I wanted to post it here for anyone who wants to use it. Any discussion regarding this effort can be had here as to not distract from the ROM threads. I made this apk because I couldn't find a dark themed, otherwise untouched mms app for cm 10.1. It has the quick reply, read and call buttons in the drop down. The only thing I changed was the colors. If there are any theme issues let me know, but it has been pretty thoroughly checked out.
For those who don't know, it is now possible to use AOSP messaging on TW Roms as I discovered here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2086834 (Thanks loserskater)
That inspired me to get it working on Bean's ROM, which I did and if you are on Bean's ROM you can find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36425213&postcount=3858
This app will work with ANY ROM compatible with cm10.1 mms apps. This apk is unmodified, pulled from cm10.1 and themed with help of jase33 and adulfo. Adulfo was very kind and PM'd me like 45 times to get it working.

8(c). If it exists find /system/app/SecMms.apk and delete it. If it doesn't exist skip to step XI.
B. If on CM/AOSP ROM skip step 1 & 8(c) and proceed to step XI.
XI. Drop the attached file in /system/app/ change name to "Mms.apk" change permissions to rw- r-- r-- and reboot.
Update: Now v3.0
Enjoy!
Sorta change-log:
v3.1
Increased MMS size to 990k
v3.0
New build from latest CM10.1
Minor theme changes
v2.0
Theme changes
Increased mms size to 990k
From now on, I am only going to make one theme version since making three different color choices is too much PITA for me.

I had a minor issue with group messaging on beans rom. I received 2 messages in a group thread, one came through fine, the other was blank and long pressing gave me the option to view as a slide show (which was also blank). I downloaded Verizon messages just to check, and the message was fine in that app. I had the view as slide show issue on my old nexus from time to time, so perhaps it is an aosp issue and not this particular apk. Just strange though. Thanks for putting these apks out.

I had one like that yesterday. I knew from the sender I didn't particularly care what the message was, but I have narrowed it down (I believe) to iPhones that send a picture at the same time as text, the messaging interprets that as a slideshow??? Anyway, not sure what the deal is with that.

[App] SemcSuite for JellyBean 4.1.2

Hello,
I read a recent post by a fellow member asking about the SemcSuite for a working version on JellyBean. So I thought I would make an update zip and share it here.
This is the GingerBread SemcSuite in a flashable zip working on JellyBean 4.1.2
I have only tested on Project JellyZues, as that was the Rom I was using when I put this together. So if for some reason on some JellyBean rom this does not work for you, I am sorry. It may also work on ICS because I used the same files on Hybrid Rom.
One thing you should know, I would remove the following file with root explorer:
libsemcwave_jni.so
This file cause's lots of lag after opening the SemcSuite, it can be found in / system / lib / libsemcwave_jni.so
Should you chose to remove After flashing, a simple reboot will remove any lag !
Please Note, when sliding open the game pad, the Semcsuite does not launch... I never did fix that myself..
This is the SemcSuite from a R800AT , If you want the SemcSuite from an R800i simply replace it in the (.zip) file after downloading it!
Enjoy!

Nothing an easy process of elimination can't handle, for the amount of people who are going to use it, I don't think it even matters, thanks for your input though.
Only Need this files:
system/app/semcsuite.apk
system/framework/xperiaplaycertified.jar
this I'm not sure if they are needed:
system/framework/playstationcertified.jar
system/framework/com.playstation.playstationcertified.jar
system/etc/permissions/com.playstation.playstationcertified.xml
system/etc/permissions/com.sony.android.playstationcertified.xml
system/etc/permissions/com.sonyericsson.android.xperiaplaycertified.xml
Hope it helps.

I had only those files originally and it did not work on JellyZues.. which is why I started adding more files, until it did work.

I tried flashing by TWRP.. Installs fine.. but doesn't show up in Installed Programs or my List of Programs.

I had only tested on the Project JellyZues Rom , the R800i semcsuite.apk can be taken from any GB rom that has it (the only difference is that the R800at games launcher had a dark blue themed menu at the bottom)
If it isn't showing up, then some more work would have to be done (files added / or replaced with different variations) The games launcher requires more then what people think, especially for roms that arent sony based.
I do have to say that I probably won't flash any AOKP roms, so you will have to mess around with some system files for this to work on an AOKP (if it will at all) I am sorry. But I can help with questions if you give it a shot!

Thanks a lot for the quick reply.. yes I will give it a shot.. let me see what all happens.. and I will give you the feedback.. AOKP is my daily driver for a long time.. so in the process of fixing all these things on that.. so yes.. am determind too.. Thanks a lot.
I tried this on PACman and got " Android is Upgrading", "Optimizing application 1 of xxx" bootloop - i mean it ends optimising, but than after few seconds with lockscreen phone reboots and again "Android..." with less number of apps. I thought that after 10 or more reboots it would end this "optimising", but give up it after 6 reboots

[NoRoot] OmniSwitch & DSP Manager & 56 Apps from CM11-442-nightly & others

[NoRoot] OmniSwitch & DSP Manager & 56 Apps from CM11-442-nightly & others
OmniSwitch! No root needed: post 4. Installs & works but FCs on a kill app swipe. This is the only one that does this well. Pulled from 1.3.2 version http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2620709
If I forget to check for a fix.
Most work on 442, no root needed. The odd/utilities are from cm4.3.
Some do not work on 442 but I thought some on 44 or 422 could use them.
See post 3 for more apps.
Edit/update
Unrooted users: If you have a version in system/app then there is no point. You can only install the apps that are unique.
Rooted & wp off: You can paste away to system/app & set permissions rw-r--r--. Be sure to rename your original to ...apk.or or the like. Some may be odexed & I could up those files too.
For the odex files go to dev section & find odexed ROMs then use explorer to extract them. There are not many odexed ROMs.
A reboot is needed to install.
DSP Manager is here. Runs fine w/o root but gives no bluetooth control. I disabled the stock Audio Effects first. http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/themes-apps/request-cyanogenmod-dsp-manager-t2714105
Cm wallpapers. Needs a shortcut to get to it.

any way to get theme chooser to work on a non-cm rom. I've got my bl unlocked and everything, but seems every custom rom has issues, was wondering if there are any ways to make themes work.

Couldn't find a odexed OmniRom. Guess I will have to wait for one or have the non root one not break on closing an app.
I'm confused what this is. I see you say no root in the title but unsure if you need to be unlocked or something. Like the theme chooser apk, I would think you'd need root for that. Sorry if I'm missing something obvious.

I am just sharing what I found. A lot need no root. Some do. I am not much into themes. Everyone is on their own. I am unrooted & the ones that, at least installed, I have put in a leading character of some kind (but the op apps are a mix). Of such I am trying those out. May report back. Others too can post their results.
The 2 with links work fine w/o root too.
If it will not install then it may work if pasted by rooters!
Two root apps one from PAC & the other from AKOP in post 4.
