[Q] Issue with physical buttons - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I am running Liquid Smooth 2.1-rc1.
It is a d2vzw. After about 24 hours of it being on, the physical buttons are all being registered as a double press. Like, when I press the home button once, it brings up the recently used applications, and when I press the menu button it brings up the google search.
It does this until I reboot. It also did this on AOKP which I was running before.
I did use titanium backup to restore the phone, so it may be an issue with something that was restored, but I am not sure what would cause it. I would like to fix this as opposed to starting over from scratch if at all possible.
Looking at adb logcat, I am not seeing anything weird when I press the button. The only thing that shows up is:
Code:
I/ActivityManager( 633): START u0 {act=com.android.systemui.recent.action.TOGGLE_RECENTS flg=0x10800000 cmp=com.android.systemui/.recent.RecentsActivity} from pid 779

Any help is greatly appreciated.

[Q]Transformer keeps waking up

My transformer keeps waking up. About once every minute the screen will turn on and show the lock-screen, until it times out and the screen turns off again.
I tried restarting and had a look at running apps but didn't see anything suspicious.
My transformer isn't rooted. So I'm running stock ICS with the latest updates.
Any ideas?
Interesting that you post this...it happened to me once yesterday!
Swyped from my Nexus Uno
Doesn't anybody know how to fix this?
I'd rather not do a hard-reset but it seems like the only option left for me at this point...
me too
Mine started doing this when I updated to 9.2.1.17
For me it started a few days after the 9.2.1.17 (WW) update, I think...
It is same here.
After update to 9.2.1.17. Only in dock. Without dock, this never happen.

Same here; mine is docked and next to my desk at work with wifi on.
i thought it was the "disconnect network during sleep" battery saving option (mine is checked); unchecking it doesn't seem to stop the device from waking up though.
found this in another forum, hopefully it helps!
http://www.transformerforums.com/fo...help/18466-tf101-ics-4-0-3-wake-up-issue.html
I can't even believe all this bs...
Ok, so i cannot even believe I am posting this - I have a tf101 docked, with the same issue - 9.2.1.21 (very latest).
Anyone know the fix?
/between this, the RR's, and the stupid unfixable SOD, i'm about ready to chuck this pos out the window.
Wakelock to fix SOD
Auto-Airplane mode to (probably) fix wakeup issues. (or just turn on airplane mode)
Both are apps in market.
If A-A doesn't fix, then an app/widget is triggering the problem.
This is a problem with the last update from ASUS, you can try the methods above, deal with it, or flash a custom kernel.

[Q] TF101 Freezes

Problem:
I have this TF101, which freezes in virtually every ROM I've tried. When I'm playing a game, refreshing Twitter timeline by dragging down, or sometimes even simply viewing settings, the screen freezes. The sound and logcat however continue. I can also turn the screen on and off by pressing the power button, but the lockscreen does not show up. When I press the volume buttons, sometimes logcat says it's registering the presses, but ignores them: I/InputDispatcher(141): Dropped event because input dispatch is disabled.
Here's a Youtube video showing the problem.
Analysis:
As said, logcat continues while the freeze is happening. Here are two logcats of the freeze and a traces.txt:
Device info: Stock ROM
Android version: 3.1
Kernel version: 2.6.36.3-00011-g3eb19ec [email protected] #1
Build number: HMJ37.WW_epad-8.4.4.11-201107011
S/N: B70.........
Problem: Freeze as mentioned before.

Device info: Stock ROM after 2 ASUS updates
Android version: 4.0.3
Kernel version: 2.6.39.4 [email protected] #1
Build number: IML74K.WW_epad-9.2.1.24-20120503

Problem: Freeze as mentioned before, but now the device reboots itself short time later.

Device info: Prime! 1.8 ROM flashed using NVFlash
Android version: 2.3

Build number: HTJ85B.prime_epad-1.8-20110821
S/N: B70.........
Problem: Freeze as mentioned before. This is the ROM in which the freezes less frequently happen, but they still happen.
Traces.txt
Solution:
I have no idea. That's why I came here. Any help is appreciated.
Reading the logs, it looks like a wifi/notification related issue in the first, and notification in the second. I'm thinking system problem...
If this happens alot, have you tried putting a Custom ROM on and applying guevor's kernel?
I've flashed Guevor's kernel 17c, and afterwards Megatron 1.1.6.
New device info:
Android version: 4.0.4
Kernel version: 2.6.39.4-00022-g482ca04 [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT Sat Mar 17 02:10:06 CST 2012
Build number: cm_tf101-userdebug 4.0.4 IMM76I eng.ze.20120521.230325 test-keys
My laptop doesn't recognize the tablet (no device discovered in device manager), so I can't view ADB logcat, but still the freezes occur after which the tablet reboots.
Any more thoughts?
-Edit-
I've tried the prime 1.8 ROM using nvflash. So far so good. Only drawback is Android 3.2.
So eventually I got freezes with this ROM as well. Only the screen freezes, sound and logcats continue.
I've tried some other ROMs with several kernels (megatron 1.0.0 and 1.1.6 with guevor 17c & 20), but these freeze within a minute, always in settings menu. The Prime! 1.8 ROM lasts a lot longer before a freeze, this occurs mostly in a game, sometimes in Dolphin, Play Store, Settings, etc..
Device info:
Android version: 3.2
Kernel version: 2.6.36.4-g565dea1 [email protected] #20110816
Build number: HTJ85B.prime_epad-1.8-20110821

Does anyone have a suggestion?
If you need some more info, I'm happy to provide it.
YT video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlSKa0qVkhQ&feature=youtu.be
I've edited the first post, I've added a traces.txt of the crash. Any help is appreciated!
Anyone? Could this be hardware related?
Prime is a good, but really old rom. Try ARHD, AOKP, or Megatron. With guevor's latest 21.4/6 ARHD is often said to be the most stable, give that a go.
Make sure you COMPLETELY WIPE EVERYTHING, when you install, or you'll always have problems (Superwipe script available in ARHD thread)
Thanks for your suggestion!
I've tried the latest ARHD with guevor's 21.4 kernel, still the freezes.
I'm gonna try AOKP now.
I had the similar SOD problem, and had tried several roms (ARHD,Revolver,AOKP,CM9) and guevor's kernel, but the problem persists...
The situation is once i turn off the screen, there's a high chance that my TF101 will freeze, and the battery drain faster than normal. It really got me frustrated.
The logs and ramdump are here, and i doubt it's something wrong with tegra_pwm.

race condition between lowmemorykiller and ActivityManager?

Having the game Dead Trigger lag on my phone sometimes have prompted me to investigate further about why it lags only sometimes.
I realise that the lowmemorykiller have kicked into action when Dead Trigger is being played, and some processes are being killed. However, the ActivityManager will actually attempt to restart them back, from logcat, I get two types of messages, one is like
I/ActivityManager( 250): Process com.google.android.gsf.login (pid 18553) has died.
...
I/ActivityManager( 250): Start proc com.google.android.gsf.login for service com.google.android.gsf.login/com.google.android.gsf.loginservice.GoogleLoginService: pid=18790 uid=10012 gids={3003, 1015, 1028, 1007, 2001, 3006}
And the second type is like this:
I/ActivityManager( 250): Process com.google.android.apps.maps (pid 18716) has died.
W/ActivityManager( 250): Scheduling restart of crashed service com.google.android.apps.maps/com.google.googlenav.prefetch.android.PrefetcherService in 20000ms
What I don't get is that, doesn't this causes the process/service to be killed and restarted, killed and restarted, when I am having a foreground app that needs a lot of memory??
I would have expected ActivityManager to not restart the apps back when they are being killed by the lowmemorykiller, but it seems like there's no way the ActivityManager can know.
should I repost this in the Android General section?

Apps keep blinking/pausing/refreshing

I'm having a strange problem here on my Nexus 4. Lately, a problem has come up that seems to be affecting pretty much any app that I happen to be running. The apps just seem to get interrupted in some way for a split second. This manifests itself in different ways depending on what app I'm running, some more annoying than others. And this seems to happen every couple of minutes, so its very frequent.
Chrome scrolls back to the top of whatever page I'm currently reading and resets to the default zoom level.
The browser in RedditIsFun does the same thing.
Gmail just flashes white for a moment.
Youtube flashes black for a split second and pauses the video.
Netflix flashes black for a split second and pauses the video.
Mxplayer flashes black for a split second and then continues playing a video.
It seems to be affecting other apps too, but these are the ones I use the most, so I have noticed it a lot.
Last night I finally upgraded from JellyBean to KitKat, hoping that might resolve the problem, but it didn't help.
I checked my logcat files after the problems were happening, and I filtered them to just display information about the app I was running.
Here is the log info for netflix, during which the problem occurred multiple times.

I checked over the logs for several other apps like Youtube and Chrome, and I see the common thing between them is the following line:
01-15 01:51:28.537 I/WindowManager(637): Screen frozen for +332ms due to Window{422c3d20 u0 com.netflix.mediaclient/com.netflix.mediaclient.ui.details.ShowDetailsActivity}
Everytime my screen freezes up, this line is there saying that the screen was indeed frozen.
What could be causing this??
Try a factory reset

Will this unroot my phone?

Factory reset will delete the supersu app but not the binaries, so after factory reset just install supersu app that's enough

This worked. Everything is working correctly now.
Well, the problem seems to have started up again. I happened to notice it a few days ago, then rebooted and everything was back to normal. Now today it has started happening again and a reboot didn't fix it.
I'm not sure what could be going on here.
Several months later, I'm still struggling with this. Someone had suggested wiping the caches in the clockwork mod boot screen, which doesn't really seem to be any more effective than rebooting.
Sometimes the problem does not occur for several hours or days after I reboot. Sometimes it starts happening immediately after I reboot. I was thinking perhaps some app I have installed is causing it, but I have not been able to isolate anything in particular.
Does anyone out there have any other ideas? This is really diving me crazy. This page refreshed 3 times while I was writing this post.

Some Problems with OPO6 and Pie

Hi,
I updated recently to 9.02.
Unfortunately i have some problems wie Pie versions (before i already tested 9.0, but went back to 8.x due to the same probs)
I used Nova Launcher.
I use the "Swipe up" gesture to lock my phone.
The Screen lock method was set to "root". (with "device admin", unlocking with Fingerprint is not possible)
I also use Alarmdroid.
When i set an alarm, and lock my OPO6 with a swipe up, the alarm is never activated. The phone was nearly unusable, like a program took 100%CPU. (Probably Nova and/or Alarmdroid).
This combination worked on every previous Android versions.
Second Problem is that Android Auto always stops with a message:
"Something went wrong - Google play services doesn't seem to be working right now".
Third Problem: My Luxspeed application does not start anymore (worked fine with 8.x versions)
Code:

Anyone had similar errors/problems?
Thanks
Nop.
I use Nova (old beta version) but i nver use gestures...
Alarm works as suposed...
The only problem i have is double tap sometimes doesnt work, and rotation also freezes....
first things first. open up settings battery battery optimization 3 dot menu advanced optimization. turn off advanced optimization. then go back 1 menu, and set what ever app you need to not optimize so android (i mean oos) does not kill said app. give that a try.
Advanced Optimization was already disabled.
Also Alarmdroid was set to not optimized.
I changed the other problem apps to not optimize.
