Finally I've just rooted my phablet a mtk 6575 build alps.ics.mp.v2.2 android 4.0.4, after days and days of searching, using many 1 click root methods and also the root using adb, but nothing at all looked like viable, nor even worked..since I find the the root_with_restore_by_Byn4ry_v18.7z
That was the answer! Now, my phablet is rooted and.... I would love to know what else? is there a custom room for those? any help is appreciated.

I don't know if it will work for Android 4.0.3, but on the Android 4.2.2 Haier W718 which I just purchased, the Chinese "mgyun VRoot" worked perfectly. (http://www.mgyun.com/vroot search Google for "mgyun vroot"). This program is all in Chinese, as it the website. You can read and figure out the website sufficiently using Google Translate. And you can find instructions on-line explaining what buttons to click in the VRoot user interface. (I ran it through virustotal; as far as I can tell, from my use of it a few days ago, at that time it did nothing untoward on my PC). mgyun VRoot runs on Windows PCs only, by the way.

I also have this phone, though the Model and Build Number says "ABROAD" instead of W718. Android version 4.2.2., hardware rev. VER.A. Can confirm that VRoot works pretty well but for Superuser access it installs some chineese app which I don't understand. And it was annoying. I unrooted the device with VRoot and gave a shot for Kingo Android Root. It recognised my Haier as HTC Device (ABROAD) but the rooting was fine and now I have SuperSu which I understand.
Hi, I have been reading all the information about Flashing and Rooting but I still can't get the hang of it. I tried Rooting my phone and downloading all the files but no luck. Can someone help me find the right downloads I need to root my phone? I have never done any of the rooting and flashing this would be my first time.

Hey there,
I recently bought an AMD A9 Cortex Dual Core MID Tablet from eBay and was wondering how to go about rooting and maybe flashing a custom ROM on this device.
I had managed to find a website saying to treat it like a nexus 7 when rooting. However I'm worried about possibly bricking it by flashing software not for this device. If anyone has got one of these devices and have managed to root and flash a custom ROM help would be much appreciated.

I've tried to install many ROMs available around, but they don't work on Bell / Virgin. I think all ROMs made for 6040D (2 sim cards version) and my phone can't find any network after upgrade.
Root you can easily do with Kingo Android ROOT, but you will need drivers from Alcatel (search on their Support site for MTK USB driver)
wrong forum??
help! ive had the same problem with not being able to find network
do u know how i can for certain revert back to normal rom. or totally reinstall

Can anyone shed some light on this? I haven't attempted to rootr my Idol X 6040A just yet until I'm sure it's possible.
Has anyone performed a successful ROOT on the Alcatel OneTouh Idol X 6040A and then successfully brought it up to working condition with a reputable ROM?

Best instructions and seems to have the best results for 6040A users. There's a lot of talk in that post though so I recommend doing a thread search for 6040A to fnd the answers.
I've rooted this phone successfully but I'm still looking for stable custom ROMs.
Any advice would be appreciated
Hey guys,
I just bought a Startrail 8 by LAIQ, after someone stole my cellphone, but i'm not that happy with it's firmware.
It has a Quad Core 1,25GHz processor, runs Android 6.0 and has 1 GB of RAM
1- So can someone tell me if there's a custom rom which is or should be compatible? and where can i find a good guide for doing it? Or is it simply impossible? cause i'm having a hard time finding anything online about it.
2- On another topic, the last time i rooted a devide (Oneplus1) i used Odin, but i was googling about my new cellphone, and found a guide where it explained how to "Flash" the latest official firmware (which i'm running on) and it also said i could install a Custom Rom without rooting my device (with Odin)? Is this possible and will i keep my warranty? And what exactly is the difference between flashing and rooting?
cheers and thanks in advance!
