After flashing a couple of ROMs today/attempting to, I am no longer recieving any service from my carrier.
Here is what I did:
I started off on Slim Bean 4.1.2 with working recipetion.
1. Attempt to flash Vahalla Black FB Edition. (Failed) It just wouldn't flash and TWRP said I had no OS installed.
2. Attempt to flash TFQ Vahalla Final Mod (Failed) Same problem.
3. Attempt to flash the Antrox Kernel linked in the TFQ Vahalla Final Mod.
4. Used Hemidall Back To Stock
5.Flashed Team Acid AOKP Milestone. (Worked) However, there is no recipetion now.
Any help would be appreciated thanks!
go to setting, about phone, or something and see waht it says for baseband. that will tell if a modem flashed properly or not.
Flash back to stock and stay there till you understand that your not following directions.
You have lost your imei.
And its very simple fix,and if you would follow instructions ....you wouldn't mess it up.
What I always do is after you format system ....remount system....
It should look like this.....unmount/system.
So long as it says that you will be fine.
Oh and btw...you can not flash back from ics or jb to gb without first flashing back to stock with a one click.

Service is working fine however, my goal was to go back to GingerBread but after I use the one-click back to stock, I am forced into a recovery mode that is unable to mount /system /cache /data and I can not flash anything except AOKP Milestone 6 which then works fine.
I don't know what's goin wrong for you.....I have only ever used Odin to flash back to stock
Gremlin remover one click and have never had an issue.

I have come to the conclusion that something is wrong with my phone. I have tried to install ICS....a lot. I am not exagerating when I say that I have tried every Odin install, and every ICS ROM that has more than a few positive results. Nothing will work. I am not new to flashing, I have had a Captivate, Inspire, Tab and have had no issues with those, even created a few themes and build.prop tweaks. I know what I am doing and I follow the OP instructions perfectly. The damn thing just wont take. I get the white Samsung screen, a black screen, a vibration, and a reboot. So at this point I think I am just going to stick with GB for right now and hope that either the offcial ICS update works (when available) or maybe 5.0 later this year.
Two weeks of try to make this work has run me ragged. Outside of the ICS issues though this is by far the best device I have had in terms of performance and reliablility.
Rant over.
Did u flash the uclc5 radio at any point in time?
If not what radio did u install, and did u install it before u flashed ics rom?
What recovery were u using?
Did u odin back stock in between each ics attempt? Did u use dark side wipe at all?
*#* Google dropbox, its useful.

I have not tried the uclc5 radio. I saw a bunch of posts about it being for the Note, however the ROMs I was looking at all used ucld2 and ucla4 radios, so that is what I have been trying. Even the ROMs with the radio included as part of the install didn't work. And yes, I installed the radios (when applicable) before attempting the ROM install.
Recovery is the same, most ROMs suggested a particular recovery and I attempted using the suggestion in each OP, then attempted with the newest recovery when they didn't work, so I bascially did each ROM I tried twice. I did flash back to stock before each attempt.
I do have the dark side wipe and ran it before every attempt, then followed the OP instructions to perform the normal wipe\format and dalvik wipes when directed.
What kills me is that I get the same bootloop when trying an Odin ICS. The only version of that I have not tried is the version that was extracted from the oneclick.
I even had problems getting a GB ROM to install. I did manage to get superlite 3.1 installed after several attempts. You better believe I have nandroid backups of this working install....in several places.
My other concern is that even when the official update gets pushed out that I won't be able to install that either.
I appreciate your suggestion to use uclc5 radio. If I try to install that I suppose I need to try and flash a ROM that does not come with a radio as part of the package?

Personally, I haven't had anything but trouble with superdarkside. Its an excellent tool, but for me, hasn't meshed well with ICS. You should try following seans op for Sky ICS UCLC4, without using darkside at all to change from where your at now.
Also, the modem (aside from UCLC5 for some) has no effect on the installs, I sat on Sky ICS UCLC4 with the UCLC3 modem for a couple weeks without any issues at all.
I have tried all of the CWM mods posted here, and to be honest, my favorite is the CWM touch when installed from rommanager. Seans roms seem to take better with it more than the rest. The CWM touch that is posted on the sky UCLC4 OP is good, but it has a couple minor bugs.
Are you using SuperSU or superuser? Supersu has backfired on numerous occasions for me, I always stick to superuser (and I'm sure I'll be flamed for the comment. Every skyrocket reacts differently, remember)

I will give it a shot. I would really like to get back to ICS, I got so used to it on my other phones.
I have been using superuser, haven't had a problem yet from that.

I know this may be silly but have you tried to re-download the one click leak your using? Maybe you have a bad download or a corrupt file. And, or try to use a different usb port when you flash. It seems you've tried everything and maybe you have a defective device. I started having a lot of issues recently after going from ROM to ROM so I just flashed the one-click to get back to a clean state and then carefully chose which ROM I wanted to use and carefully install it. I've always used Darkside Superwipe but since I've quit using it, things have been much smoother. What I do now is what most Devs are saying now is to wipe/factory reset multiple times and format/system multiple times. If thats not working maybe go all the way back to stock GB with k0nanes stock tar and go from there. As far as the uclc5 radio, be careful!! I'm sure you've read that it can corrupt a partition and cause issues. I did flash it once and it did work for 48 hours but I noticed signal loss so I flashed back to uclc2. Maybe I got lucky it didn't mess me up, who knows? And if you have an issue not receiving an official update, IF you do go back to the stock GB tar, do a nandroid and flash that when it comes out. Just make sure you flash the stock recovery before you take it. I have a stock GB backup on my SD, so IF and WHEN it does come out, I'll just flash the backup, flash stock recovery and take the OTA. With your constant bootloops, it seems to me its a bad download or a defective device. It seems you've tried everything. Good luck...
^^^ this makes sense. Also I was asking about the note radio to advise u against it, or u may end up screwing up ur phone even worse, and have to make a visit to my corrupt efs fix thread lol.

I will try to get a different download, but I do not think that is it. The only reason I say that is because my phone had the exact same response for EVERY ROM I have download. They can't all be bad files. I have tried on two different PCs with three different USB cables. Good thought though, I have had bad downloads before. I am going to keep trying as the ROMs are updated and hope that I figure out what is going on, and hope that I can get the official update at some point. Then I will just root it and get rid of the bloat myself if I have to
I am going to stay away from the L5 radio, not worth the hassle.
On a side note, if installing a rom from the site, remember, most will work with the "base"
But need to reset/full boot before "updating".. dont just flash rom and flash update then reboot
I had a hard time with ICS as well with different problems, all I can say is it disproves the definition of insanity. Trying the same things over and over again will eventually make it work!
Hang in there, it's worth it. Whenever you do get the ODIN one click to work I highly recommend flashing Raider03's SMOOTHIE ROM. Awesome battery life and extremely "SMOOTH"! But be prepared for a few FCs and bugs with all of the ICS ROMS for now!
Hi all,
As the title says I am currently unable to boot past (red) CWM recovery on my Infuse. I figure it might be easier to get help if I explain everything I've done:
The other day I tried to flash Uniporn build 37 only to soft-brick my phone because I didn't have the GB bootloaders installed (I had previously been on CM7). I managed to nandroid back to CM7 and decided I'd give it another go today.
Since I was told that flashing bootloaders is very risky I decided to flash something easier first with Heimdall to make sure everything was working right. I ended up flashing the ICS kernel in qkster's thread (one-click)... mistake #1. That bricked my phone once again and gave me rainbows in recovery.
So then I decided to try a Heimdall flash to stock 2.3.6 UCLB3 (once again, the one-click Heimdall from qkster's thread), which did give me a bootable OS despite some rainbows while booting up. However, here I made mistake #2 and tried to recover from the CM7 backup I made earlier today with the Infuse Toolkit. This completely soft-bricked my phone; I couldn't even get into recovery at this point.
So, I tried to reflash the stock 2.3.6 with bootloaders this time, only (and this may be important, not sure) it tried and failed to flash a PIT. At this point I flipped because I thought I had hard-bricked the phone. After I calmed down and came back a while later, I discovered the phone wasn't hard-bricked at all and I was able to get it into download mode after all!
I then flashed stock Froyo (I'd had enough of that rainbow ****) and it seemed to go fine... only now it wouldn't boot past 3e recovery, despite me wiping data and cache multiple times. So I flashed the community kernel... same problem, only now with red CWM instead of 3e.
So... what can I do now? I'm relieved I don't have a hard-brick on my hands, but this isn't that much better... could that PIT be the problem? I hope the info I gave is enough to help (and isn't too much either!)
Screw ICS, now I just want my CM7 back
EDIT: I should also probably note that after I managed to get CWM back I tried to flash the UCLB3 ROM in the Infuse toolkit; it said it installed but when I rebooted the phone still went straight to CWM.
EDIT 2: Another weird thing I just noticed: the phone apparently refuses to stay turned off while it's plugged into the wall to charge. If I plug it in, it turns on and goes into recovery mode. This also can't be good, since IIRC the battery won't charge while in recovery.
Just heimdall or Odin again...I've had this happen soo many time when I had my infuse...I just simply run heimdall again and its good...if you ever get recovery after heimdal or Odin...do not hit reboot...wipe everything then hit reboot...
And gingerbread bootloaders are not required for ics...I keep hearing people say they brick there phones because they don't have gb bootloaders...that is not the reason...yes with out the bootloaders you get rainbow recovery and boot up but that is it!!!
Remember if you are going to ics from gingerbread...YOU HAVE TO double flash...the first flash will not work...just three finger back to recovery and flash again from.blue/rainbow recovery depending whether or not you have.bootloaders...
Look at my infinitum port thread...it has great instructions on how to flash ics roms...as well as how I flashed gingerbread bootloaders when I had my infuse

Nah, I've tried that, it's more broken than that. I think I need to reflash the PIT, which Heimdall doesn't like for some reason. I followed qkster's advice in another thread but still no dice. I might have to try using a different computer.
All fixed now, I used the Heimdall one-click on a Windows machine; the PIT and everything else flashed without a hitch and I'm up and running again.
just keep trying flash different stable stock roms thru odin until u can boot..i had it happen twice nd even couldn't get computer recognize my phone for a bit thru odin but it finaly workd now I'm back on cm9
Samsung Infuse ICS 4.0.1(cm9)

You can just keep flashing until you find a ROM you like. Odin is just basically when things are messed up and you need to go back to stock. I think it was RSD on the Droid 1.

You can flash it just to go back to stock. Doesn't have to be cause you messed the phone up. I think it's also good to do it occasionally with a pit file to wipe/fix all partitions (not just /system and /data, but ones like the hidden radio/GPS partition etc.)

Well of course you can use it to just go back to stock, but the average user only does it when they mess up. I do agree though I personally even I find my daily driver like to start fresh then flash the keeper ROM.

Have been rooted since day of pre-order delivery. Have flashed multiple ICS/JB TW roms. I stay away from AOKP/CM roms just because of loss of features so can't report on those. I have never lost wifi or GPS. Never had sim card error. Had no problems with TWRP and haven't used CWM since worked with Koush on Tbolt problems. We worked those out and I still run CWM touch on Tbolt. Used Amon on Rezound. Recoveries are what you feel comfortable with. I use whatever works best for the device although that is irrelevant to this subject. I still use the old school clean wipe of data/cache/dalvic cache/system for all flashes on all devices and all recoveries. Ultimately have never had a reason to use Odin or go back to stock since initial root. Only bugs I have seen are rom related and nandroid back to working rom fixed it. There are differing opinions on what I have just posted but I have had no problems with flashing anything on my last 3 devices and have never bricked a phone even though I may flash 10 times a day for multiple devs on multiple devices. Maybe the old school recovery devs were on to something. Beats me.

Yes you can but they all have killer batter life. No need to Odin you can flash it in recovery. Only have to Odin stock RUU to get firmware update. If you do it could loose root and ability to unlock boot loader. You will have it as long as you keep it. As soon as you flash another rom it will wipe that one and you will be on the base that the rom is based on. This is why the devs update to latest bases whether they be leaks or official. Best you can do is flash newer radios and kernels unless the ROM Gods tell us to update firmware and then it will be checked and deemed safe. Never Odin/flash an OTA/leak unless it has been cleared by the Android Gods. I have only used Odin once and that was because that was only way to root on original pre-order.
be sure to back up internal sd card

Don't forget to back up internal sd card. Odin will wipe it when you flash.
I keep running into problems after flashing any ICS custom ROM. (Maybe I should try going to an ICS Stock ROM first).
Most times it just loops on the loading screen.
- Phone is rooted of course.
- I usually have the Emancipation GB custom rom before flashing to this one or a Stock GB with root and red CWM.
- I follow instructions to a 'tee'
- When I do reboot, it loops at Samsung logo.
The last time I tried (Dark Knight ICS Rom), just recently, I flashed then rebooted into recovery (from advance-boot to recovery), and it didn't go to recovery mode, it just looped.
So currently I'm on Stock GB with root and red CWM.
What am I doing wrong?
What are some things I should consider?
Some of the GB custom roms are nice yes, but I rooted mainly so I could get ICS.
Thanks for any help anyone can offer/

Yeah pretty much.
Only happens for ICS ROMs. Well the ones I've tried.
Still new at this, so I'll keep trying and that link you posted is one of my most visited links.

To be honest I was running from using Entropy's build.
Fear of it being too technical (It's actually the first thread I saw when I was thinking of going to ICS). So I used it and my phone is up and running now on ICS.
Won't be able to play around with it as much until I get home from work but thanks for mentioning it again.
Now to go and read the thread all the way through (kidding) well see if the problems he had are still occurring.
Thanks again guys.
For me, using Entropy's build made it easy to go to any other ICS rom for the Infuse- it is great as is or as a "stepping-stone" to other ICS builds. Glad it worked for you.
Yea man it was nice. I don't even need the other custom roms, this has everything I wanted.
And since it has a theme chooser, I'm good for life on the look of it.
I might try and customize my own stuff in the future but for now, all is right with my Infuse. I was going to get the Note but I got a brand new phone right here.
ok lets start from the beginning,
flashed beanstalk, decided i liked vanilla rootbox better, i kept getting a error when trying to flash vanilla, used odin to unroot and flash back to stock (cell was functional at that time)
SOC failed (kept saying not responding) so i figured i had to flash a pre-rooted stock version had red CWM, then i flashed latest build of vanilla, when it booted, i noticed i had no connectivity, decided to try and flash avatarROM 6.5 that failed, so i restored from a backup i had of it, once it booted still no connectivity, decided to try and flash a modem to see if that was the issue, booted, and still nothing, my final hope was to go all the way back to the beginning to step 3 and flash a pre-rooted stock, guess what......now i have network......wtf! it looks like im stuck on 2.2.1 until i can get some help, anything at all is helpful yesterday my phone was perfectly fine now im stuck in this hell called froyo lol
Sounds like you lost your IMEI while working your way back up to Rootbox. In case you didn't know about it, check out andros11's guide to flashing JB. Follow it closely and you'll be up and running in no time.
--------- More info ----------
Beanstalk uses a new partition scheme. So you can't flash from Beanstalk to Avatar (or Rootbox) without going back to stock first and then working your way back up. At least until those ROMs are updated to the new partitions.
Thank you. I talked to andros And he said the same thing looks like i jumped the gun on things lol

Fixed and solution
for anyone that finds heimdall confusing or wont work and can only use odin all you gotta do is....(this is what i used to get from froyo to JB)
follow these in the order that the links are shown
STEP 1: i lost the link to the rooted stock for froyo but you should be able to find one easily
heres the link for GB rooted stock http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1613523
install the rooted stock via odin method and follow ALL instructions (READ THE WHOLE PAGE!)
ONCE YOU GET TO THIS POINT DEPENDING ON THE STOCK ROM YOU HAVE EITHER FROYO OR GB
IF YOU HAVE FROYO COMPLETE STEP TWO IF YOU HAVE GB AND A RED CWM SKIP TO STEP 4
STEP 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozNVeGPUlU8 -custom recovery to get green 2.x CWM
STEP 3: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...6&highlight=gb this is the gingerbread rom i used in my process to get to JB (DO NOT JUMP THE GUN READ THIS.......OPEN UP THE NEXT LINK AS WELL AND READ THE INSTRUCTIONS THEY APPLY FOR THIS AS WELL IT IS A MUST IF YOU WANT THIS TO WORK) supplemental video to help with instructions http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndC39t1AE-k
STEP 4: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&highlight=ics follow instructions again same as step 4
STEP 5: provided is the rom for ics i used (beware has new partion and cannot flash other roms such as avatarROM afterwards refer to location at bottom marked **1**) you can use any JB rom that you would like this just happens to be the one i used http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2059535 once you get to ics you should have gotten the blue CWM and then just follow the instructions here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1878458
