Is there going to be Sense 5.0 Rom for HTC desire s - HTC Desire S

The new HTC one/m7 will have the new sense 5.0 and sense 5.0 will be lighter. So for it being lighter adds about 30% of chance of there being a sense 5.0 Rom for HTC desire s. What other info is there about sense 5.0 rom for HTC desire s?

Highly doubt it, even if it does we probably won't be seeing it till next year knowing HTC

Officially by htc? I highly doubt it as the last update for our phone was the R&D ICS Rom.
Via port? May or may not come, depending if resizing will be achieved, among other things.
Dont get your hopes up for this one.

I don't think so that HTC will release to Desire S. Looks like they dropped support for this phone. Sadly... :/

on desire hd, sensation and incredible s porting sense 5, come on someone port sense 5 skin etc for desire s

Officially : Never!
Cocked ROM : Maybe, but we'd have to wait so so long ... AFAIK, we recently had some sense 4.1 ROMs but no full sense 4+/4.5 ROMs yet ... so by the time we get sense 5 ROM (if ever, one or two years), the DS would be antique and most of us might be using newer phones.

Officially, no chance.
Port? Not so sure. Will take a long time I suspect, and there are hardly any devs left working on this device, no most unlikely you wont see Sense 5 on this device.

Sense 5.0
I hope we get it cause there lots of sense things that make sense. Lol
On a serious note many new phones are quad core will the desire s 1ghz and adrenal 205 have the necessary processing power to run sense 5 smoothly. Are there any new sense 5 phones with similar specs to the DS?

i dont think so
The new sense will come with the new phone for me .. i dont think we got chance for sense 5 guys

So is it possible? Can someone port it??

Desire S hardly runs full sense 4 , it wont stand a chance on sense 5,
And where did sense 4.5 go?
Sent from my HTC Desire XS using xda app-developers app

i think thantos2024 said he might try doing a sense5 port...

hmm, dont forget this device came with Android 2.3 and Sense 2.1 now we're with Android 4.1 and Sense 5. Is it worth it?
Technically a port is possible, but difficult. (ea different processor architecture, screen resolution = resizing and more... who knows what they could've hidden more)
Plus there should be enough dev motivation. sorry but i prefer building from source now
Still running fallout on my ds and that runs without problems @razi, so your argument is invalid ;p (no offence.)

On the no offence side Fallout has only some full Sense stuff as lockscreen, recent apps, etc ported in. But it is and always will remain lite Sense not full. Full Sense lags very ugly on our device so razi pointed this right

Truth be told I think that porting Sense 5.0 is like fitting Ferrari's 4,5 litre V8 into Fiat 500. It just won't work. I mean I would like that but the performance would be terrible. I really like my DS especially beacaouse I bought it recently but I don't think that Sense 5.0 will make it to our phone any possible way. Honestly I'm really glad that there are people like Flinny in here that are porting lightweight AOSP or Cyanogen to DS becaouse it's one of the best single core devices for the money out there. It's still much more powerful and better designed than for exampe new Desire C. We have 768 mb of ram and Qualcomm MSM8255 that can easily get it to 1,5Ghz (that is this CPU native clocking on Flyer) or even further but Full Sense 4/5 need more power. I guess dualcore with newer architecture at least. Still if someone would take this challenge I would be happy to test

I dont think installing more apps make the phone 'lag' as the smoothness whether scrolling or playing game is dependent on the 'ram' availability. so what influence the ram availability is what is running at the background, and these app that are taking up the ram availability is the apps that we open ourselves and fail to exit it properly, causing it to be hanging in the background.
So a 'rom' itself doesn't lag after a week/month of using, it lags because users fail to exit them, that's why a reboot helps as it kills them. Get a task killer, hide system apps and only shows your games/browser because those will eat those rams the most.

[Q] New Sense UI?

So I've been seein the EVO 3D, and I really like its new sense ui. You can change the lockscreen with weather and when you slide through the screens there is a new carasel look and more. I am just wondering two things. 1. Is there any way to get that Sense ported over to our Inspire's? 2. If we can't, do you think that the Inspire will ever get that update?

I actually prefer it to vanilla Android. I ran cm for a day and flashed design gears Rom back over it. I have great battery life so far, so it really doesn't bother me. I feel almost "privileged" to have it since I own an HTC device.
You really can't beat the dialer, messaging app and keyboard. I know there are skins to out on other keyboards but I can't get the same performance as I can the built in HTC keyboard.
Plus I'm a huge sucker for the clock....

Is There a Stable Sense Based ROM?

So I'm doing some research on my next phone (currently rocking a Droid Incredible 1) and it will either be the HTC Vigor or the Nexus Prime. I'm leaning towards the Nexus Prime, but I love Sense, so I just want to make sure that there are people out there who create Sense based ROMs for the Nexus devices.
So are there any stable Sense based ROMs for the Nexus S?
No sense no thanks. You buy a nexus for the AOSP experience. If you want sense buy a htc phone.

Sense based rom ran into some hurdles, plus it's harder cuz unlike the nexus 1 it doesn't share the same hardware as an HTC phone...
For the Prime, we'd have to wait for a similar phone running ics, gingerbread might not run too well on it...

Ahh this makes the decision so much more difficult. I was pretty much set on getting the Prime because I figured it'd be an easy swap to put a custom sense ROM on it.
I really want to have the latest and greatest (ICS), but I also love my sense features (lockscreen, beautiful widgets, beautiful animations, etc)
what to do, what to do....
Yeah Rem3Dy said it all, but to throw my 2 cents in.
If you want a phone running Sense you should stick to HTC phones that come pre loaded with it. Ports can be cool, but it's hard to rely on them everyday as a daily driver they all tend to have their issues. From what I was hearing before leaving the EVO 4G forums, HTC should be developing a web app for consumers to unlock boot loaders in the future, so you shouldn't have to wait for exploits to enjoy root privileges on future phones.
Now if you want a pure Google Experience device then you should look into the Nexus line of phones. This is the way Google envisions Android and in my opinion, it's the best way to enjoy it. The Nexus line always has the latest and greatest with software updates direct from Google. This means when new versions are released we don't have to wait for manufacturers to upgrade their UI to to work with the current version of Android, no wondering when or if our device will ever even get the upgrade.
So if Sense is a deal breaker for you, you should probably stick with HTC. If you're intrigues by the Nexus Prime, wait till it hits stores and go check one out, I doubt you'll be let down.

Sense sucks balls, big time. It was the reason I rooted and flashed aosp on my Evo. Most htc owners try to get away from sense, and you want to install it on a Nexus??
However we like SEnse or not (I don't personaly, and sure thing is if you have a Nexus "something" is for experiencing the pure Android), it has been said several times by several great devs that it won't be possible to port any Sense like launcher on the NS.....
You can always install Launcher Pro Plus which has very similar widgets to HTC Sense. ADW is another popular launcher as well.
It's not just the widgets, but the sense 3.0 lock screen is one of my favorites!

best sense 3.5 rom

hi guys,
would you mind sharing your preferred sense 3.5 rom?
This is for the wife's phone so it's more fore stable rom for daily use.
Thanks
InsertCoin worked well when I tried it. I'm staying put with Sense 3.0 though, because Sense 3.5 doesn't play nicely with using Exchange ActiveSync with Gmail (although that might not matter in your case).
To be honest though, Sense 3.0 looks nicer to me.. Sense 3.5 just seems black and white everywhere, even when using the Blue sky theme..

Using SENSEaY 2.0.0 myself. It'd been top notch for me, except for 1 nagging issue. Some apps in the market will tel me they aren't compatible with my device. Not even hardware reliant apps. I'm talking apps like Yelp and TripIt. lol

Bulletproof is the best. No bugs whatsoever. Roman is a great dev.
I agree on the bulletproof...best rom i've used to date on my Sensation(and I've tried most of them) Not saying others are bad but something about BP just felt right...stable..nice extras...and for me the real thing that kept me using it was my ridiculously amazing battery life. I'm a heavy user on my phone(it doesn't leave my hand) and I'd easily get 13+ hours without a charge. Usually I'd just through my phone on the charger before I went to bed and it was just hitting the red.

Jelleybean, Sense 4& 4.1

Ive been reading around and every site has things mixed up...
Will the HTC Sensation line officially get either:
Jelleybean
Sense 4
Jelleybean + Sense 4.1
There are reports that it will get jelleybean with Sense 4.1 and reports that it will only get Sense 4.
Can anyone confirm anything?
Thanks!
Personally I doubt that it will get any major updates from now on - no official Sense 4.x, no Jelly Bean.
Of course, ROM developers will make all of these available to us
I agree with Ellis, Historically HTC have only really done 1 or 2 updates with devices. We had 3 i doubt we will get anymore
True true And yes, thanks to the devs! im personally waiting for a sense 4 rom from And.Rev, but they need HTC to release some kind of code for them, sense 4 for those devices, which im afraid means since there will not be an official sense 4 for the Sensation, means no And.Rev Sense 4 rom... or maybe im totally wrong and they can still manage?

Have you tried other Sense 4 ROM's like ViperS and InsertCoin, I know that some people tried early versions of Sense 4 ROM's and it sorta put them off because of the buglist bug the only "port" bug left is HDMI output (I say port bugs because some minor bugs in the ViperS ROM are due to the tweaks). So it might be worth just flashing a newer sense 4 rom for a week or so just to see if you like it any better

Really??
1. Until HTC get their asses in gear then you wont see a Sense JB rom, only AOSP
2. It is highly likely Sensation WILL NEVER get official JB with Sense (sad but true), the best you can hope for is a One series port when htc updates those. And quite obviously I would have thought, we dont know what Sense version it will be because htc hasnt announced anything and no htc insider has posted anything about it so how are we supposed to know?
3. Dont even bother asking for timeline on when stable versions will be done, it is annoying in the extremes. It will be done when all the devs working on it manage to fix the bugs (atm they dont have a lot to go on because the published source code wont even sync properly)
To be honest i wouldnt think the Desire C would be of any help to us. 320x480 resolution,600mhz CPU Would be like porting a WFS rom to the Sensation.Best to hope on One V or S

Don't think its that easy. I was under the impression the framework from sense based roms wouldn't work with non-sense roms like cyanogen and such. Things may have changed though.

Yes it possible! However, I don't think anyone is working on it since the update for our phone is supposed to be out before the month is over. Don't make a bunch of sense to hack something together only for the official release to come out 2-3 weeks later.

It's not possible. Well it is possible but it would be unusable. The framework needs to be resized from XHDPI to qHD and that isn't even possible because of the m10 images that we aren't able to replace. If you didn't replace it, you won't be able to use any of the phone because everything would be too large.
