I am using the clemsyn kernel but clem has stopped cooking and guys said I should check out the tf700 forum so I need to know which of those work for a tf300tg or how can I make them work. I've been trying to see if there's info on the threads' description but nothing there. Any help . appreciated
Which rom are you using? If you are using a stock based rom there are 20 kernels available in my kernel installer. 12 TF700 and 8 TF300 variants.

I've downloaded your ROM a few days ago so I might as well flash it over, I did a backup a few hours ago so I can always go back if I'm not satisfied. My main problem is a proper TF300TG kernel with GPU OC. Let's see then how it goes.
I just remembered why I'm not running your ROM, my wifi is unresponsive, even though it connects automatically to my router, I can't change any settings or discover/connect to another network. Even did a clean install if I recall correct bu still the same results. Will check your kernel installer after I restore.
I go for Unters TF300T kernel, it clocks the processor depending on which setting you have it on:
power saving 1gz
balanced mode 1.3gz
performance 1.6gz
And also the front facing camera works with this kernal

don't really care for 3g, oc yes I went for the unters one anyway since it was the only one saying tf300t(g) in the end, thanks guys, is the unters kernel thread in the tf700 forum? will look for it myself as well but i cant find anything in ours.

My problem is that after trying both energy and cleanrom my wifi is acting up, for energy even on clean installation.
Correction: on cleanrom I couldn't get whatsapp to work, on stock I just install it
it's really important that I have whatsapp since I sold my phone

whatsapp wont install even on stock if you dont download it manually and force install the package.
and if you do so it will work on clean (look for a thread here on XDA for a tablet-friendly version).
btw did you chose the right DPI setting from aroma installer on clean, right? a lot of apps wont work correctly with wrong DPI settings - chose 160DPI.

Yes, I did all that, proper dpi and pushing the apk manually, actually tried a few guides on the matter. Had the same issue on energy rom unless I flashed over from stock, and by doing that I couldn't switch on/off the wifi. It was on but could only connect to previously saved networks. Same issue on cleanrom. Only difference is that a full wipe would make the wifi work on clean but not on energy. Whatsapp is the way I talk to my girl, don't really like viber's gui. And don't have the time to spare on reflashing all the time. Abort-retry-fail was nice when I was single and had all day to myself to choose if I want a night out partying or in flashing every single rom I can think of on whichever device I had at the time lol

Correct. Clemsyn's haven't worked for me, and I do care a lot about 3G that's why I opted for the TG model. The only one that works is Unters...

You don't have to install it to have an opinion on it. Stop and think for a second. So you would just install Cleanrom and just leave it at that? The point is this gives you the option to pick and choose what you want to add to the rom and not be at the mercy of a rom creator. I'll say I've been doing this a long time now and I've learned that most roms are just eat up with bugs and more problems than its worth. I mostly prefer a stock rom with just a few performance tweaks here and there as opposed to one that's going to FC or reboot spontaneously. However if no one has anything intelligent to contribute then by all means moderator, lock this topic.

I just installed it and am checking it out with the stock Jelly Bean. I admit, I was overwhelmed by options but we'll see how it goes. Hopefully I didn't select anything detrimental. Everything seems okay, and I like the option to reboot faster!

I have tried with xbean on a captivate , semaphore kernel , works like a champ , cleans up all the untidy bits , fast and smooth
Looks very interesting.
I'd be willing to try if it's as easy as the vid makes it look.
Pretty smart of devs to warn to backup first.

Well I just flashed this on unofficial cm10. I selected a bunch of tweaks, many of which I have no idea what they are. The rom booted fine and so far no fc's. So far I am not noticing a huge difference anywhere but to be fair I haven't used it much.

I have been using "Pimp My Rom" consistently on my Marvelc (Htc Wildfire S CDMA) running Blackbean-6-V2 from Icu64 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2099218 (I put Dext+ in the init.d folder before flashing the rom. Then I flash CM10 Kernel 2.1v by eoghant27, Alquez, Modpunk and OliverG96 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010083. Finally, I flash Oliver's light based Gaps after first boot. Anyway, all the tweaks I have used from "Pimp My Rom" work awesome and have not given me any problems at all. I just about used everything on there except vm sizes. Hope that info helped out. Yeah you right!

I never really paid attention to my wifes stock TF101, until recently I used and wow...it is pretty slow (I have an N7 and was surprised how much slower it was). I'm just wanted to get some feedback on what ROMs & kernals currently have the strongest preformance and stabilty.
Have JB roms become stable enough to surpass ICS ones?

The Custom ROMs may be more unstable than the stock one. I am not sure, I have the same problem, but I am waiting for a Jelly Bean update for this tablet. I think they will release a JB update this christmas. Try overclocking it? You can Overclock it to 1.6 GHz.

What I found was that flashing a custom kernel that allowed overclocking and using Nova Launcher with animation speed set to "Faster Than Light" corrected any lag or slowness that I noticed in stock ICS.

Well, as you have experienced, I have some questions, because I want to overclock my TF101.
1. Is it safe? I mean, could it kill your processor or brick your tablet?
2. Do you need to have a custom ROM to overclock?
3. Does it wipe all your data?
4. If possible, do you have a link that actually works with full tutorial? I have tried overclocking and my tablet got hard bricked while changing kernel.. by the way, I read like 7 tutorials and then did what I remembered.

I'm also back to stock. Had stability/performance/usability issues with all the roms I tried, stock is the better one for mine it seems. But I have well over 400 apps installed and it's running very well and fast. I'd look into why your wife's is running so slow with stock, tons of tools out there to help you figure that out like task managers/explorers/killers/etc.

I will do my best to try and answer your questions. Please keep in mind that I am not responsible for anything that happens to your device, I am just reporting my experiences and what I recommend. I do not consider myself an expert or a developer. I am just an android enthusiast who has been rooting/unlocking/flashing/modding for a few years. I hope I am able to help you out.
1. I haven't had any issues overclocking. I suppose if you push it up to the max MHz then you could have issues but I have been able to safely run my TF101 at around 1600 MHz. My TF101 is about 16 months old now and I haven't had any problems.
2. A custom ROM is not required but you have to be sure that the kernel is specifically built for Asus based ROMs. The developer usually states it in the respective thread.
3. Flashing a kernel does not wipe your data. As a general rule however I always wipe cache and dalvik cache after flashing anything. It maybe not necessary but it only takes 10 seconds to do.
4. I don't have a link to a tutorial for flashing a kernel or overclocking. There are probably tutorials out there but it's pretty basic stuff. Just flash the kernel using a custom recovery (CWM or TWRP). I personally prefer TWRP. Then i usually use SetCPU (available in the Play Store) to set the max/min MHz. I usually set max=1600 MHz and min=384 MHz.
There are a couple good custom kernels available in the development section. The one that I currently use is made by guevor (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1565519). The one I use is in Post #3 and is called "Kernel-2-ICS-V1.1-OC1700-fb_28.zip" - it is the first one under the heading "2.6.39 based".

edit: in cleanrom select stock tf300T kernel (tg one will be in kernel add on)
btw remember to select 160 dpi or UI will be weird and some app will have problems (as the other densities are for tf700 higher res screen)

About other versions/variants of Android - don't know - I'm using only stock and don't have time for experiments. After Christmas HDays I plan to put source code to the public source so other people can put this to their kernels.

This is another JB 4.2.1 Custom rom that will work for our tf700 code name "Hairy Bean" - **Unleash The Beast!**". Created by developer flumpster, the same dev that helped sdbags with the new updated TWRP2.4.4.0. I have been running this rom for a bout a week and no issue so far. Just a few highlights:
1. The latest Android JB 4.2.1 build.
2. Custom kernel to work with data2sd or without. (selectable during installation)
3. Init.d scripting enabled in kernel ramdisk
4. Work with TF201, TF300 and TF700 (selectable during installation, also for WW or US)
5. Dual Launcher - Stock 4.1.1 or 4.2.1 (Make sure you disabled Animation in settings-> developer options for smoothness).
6. Custom background and a lot of options during installation.

yes, just wipe cache and dalvik cache then flash it, very simple.
Edit: Rule of thumb is every time you switch from one custom rom to another you should wipe data (may not need too). However, we can do it this way without data wipe.
1. Take a nandroid backup of your current sdbags stock rom
2. Wipe cache/davlik cache and flash Hairybean rom
To go back without data wipe:
1. Restore sdbags stock rom from nandroid backup.
2. Flash sdbags new 4.2 cromi.

I already spoke to developer and he confirmed it's working for tf700. I won't post here unless I tried it myself first. In the installation, there is an option for tf700.
I've tested this for flumpster. It works on the TF700 fine.
It's based from the TF300 10.6.1.8 source with a few things nicked from the TF700 rom.
It's a similar and good alternative to CROMi-X

I'm new to the 700t, but so far, this has been the best ROM of the 4 that I tried. It runs good and plays nice with D2D. Thanks.

Am I over here also? I must have missed this thread
I never intended to release this onto the tf300 or tf700 as I don't really have the time to give support on the three threads.
I made it compatible tho as some of my beta testers own the devices and wanted to use it on them also.
Let me know how the ROM works for you and if the new 2.2 release is OK.
Getting Boot Loop
I installed per instructions and it is constantly booting to the ASUS flash screen.
I thought this might be the 30-60 minute "letting the rom casche" as mentioned in the instructions - but it has been doing it for over an hour.
Any help or should I just re-flash TWRP and re-flash my previous rom?

Which kernel did you flash when you whent through the set up?
I first tried the recommended kernel but got stuck on the Asus screen boot looping, so I then tried the stock kernel from the kernel selection and that worked just fine.
Unfortunately any stock kernel other than what is installed with ROM causes the screen to go wack and font to shrink

Check/edit the dpi settings (lcd_density) in /system/build.prop.
The issue is that the kernel offered with this ROM includes the 240dpi lock in init.04.rc and the default Asus build.prop is stuck at 160dpi. So once you unlock the kernel (by using one of the ones in cromi-x like that's or mine) you get 160dpi. Do as_that says and edit the DPI setting in the build.prop to fix.
I have spoken with flumpster about this and he will probably update to allow multi DPI settings to the tf700. Also this version is out of date. 2.2 is out now

Which custom ROM is a matter of personal opinion, Personally I use PAC-ROM 4.4.2 though I have used OmniRom and Cromi-X (not Crombi-KK). What cmendonc means is that there are almost no TF300TG sources out there besides what asus provides. This is one of the trade-offs that you have to make (ie do I want 3G or a better ROM overall?). Most of the ROMs in the Developer section are pretty stable. I would recommend Cromi-x, as you mostly have everything you need and it is super stable. Good luck

No doesn't really matter to me.. what difference does the 3G make after all?

What cmendonc means is that there are almost no TF300TG sources out there besides what asus provides. This is one of the trade-offs that you have to make (ie do I want 3G or a better ROM overall?). Most of the ROMs in the Developer section are pretty stable. I would recommend Cromi-x, as you mostly have everything you need and it is super stable. Good luck

I actually prefer a better rom overall than the 3G capabilities, but the reason i ask for the best rom is not about the appearance or anything like this, its just that i've read a lot of people complaining after flashing some TF300 roms, about losing their Wi-Fi, etc.
And i most certainly need my wifi.
So error-wise ( ) , which is the best rom

I'm running KK CROMi right now and it seems pretty smooth compared to a few other I tried over the past week.

Do you have a TF300tg , or a TF300t? and if you have the TG, what are the complications, if any? if it's just the 3G, i don't really care.

Yeah the 3G will most likely be knocked out. I have a tf300t. The rest of the ROM should function normally.
