What about you never had any updates. I have a kindle fire so i had to push apk to system/app originally. Deleted botje the googlesevicesframework and vending data also I tried to delete vendin apk and install the one from OP and it tries to copy over old when when i had already deleted it. Maybe im doing something wrong ....can this modded apk work with the kindle ??

reading that thread looks like the patch isn't "sticking" though.... they're doing it without the GSF patch and maybe that's the problem?

Thanks for taking a look at this issue. I have reviewed these changes and it makes sense why the "DPI Hacked" versions that I posted are not "sticking". The only problem I can see is that the version of GSF in this thread is not matching either the official "20110828" or the official "20120317" ICS version of Google Apps. When I compare GSF versions, I get a lot more changes than just seeing a one line difference in /GoogleServicesFramework/smali/com/google/android/gsf/checkin/CheckinRequestBuilder.smali. Can you tell me what version of GSF was used? It says 2.3.7, but its not the same as my version.
Also, all the changes made in your DPI modified version of Vending.apk seem ok, except, I'm not sure why there are changes to res/menu-v11/actions.xml and some of the other resource files. The "cleanest" way to package this is to copy the modified classes.dex into an unaltered version of Vending.apk. This way, apktool will not do anything funny to the resource files and doing a file comparison will not show a bunch of unwanted changes.
I would also like to mention that these files will not work for ICS or any DPI other than 240.
Attached are my logs of the file comparisons to the original versions. Thanks.
Is this one working with ics?
Got the .15 version working with 182DPI and it doesnt revert using density modder.
Tried some from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1580827
But does not stick.
Seems you also have to install the GSF for it to work.

I can confirm this as well on Nexus S (240dpi) with AOKP M5. I never use Talk on my phone though so for me it's an acceptable bug.

The GSF apk has "signature" protection enabled in it's AndroidManifest.xml. You could either change "signature" to "normal" so the protection is disabled, or you could resign the other apk's (such as talk.apk) so the signature matches. For example, if I modify GSF.apk and sign it with my "test key", then the signature protection within the apk will only trust apps that are signed with the "test key".
This doesn't seem to be working for me. I cleared Market data, copied both APKs and rebooted, and now I have the latest Play Store version but still I can't install a lot of apps -- mostly they don't even show up when I search on the phone.

[APP]Chrome Beta - Update safely on 240 DPI

Hi Guys,
Just a small info post.
The latest update of Chrome Beta to version 0.18.4531.3636 works perfectly with the 240 DPI (phone UI). Guess Google has finally lifted the DPI restrictions!! Cheers! So go ahead and update freely!
Earlier we all were having problems of FC when updated to the latest version of the Chrome Beta on 240 DPI, and as a workaround we had to use the older versions of the app.
And to the benefit of all you can either download the latest version of chrome beta from from the play store or you can download from my Dev Host share Here
Also just in case you are having any issues with the latest version you can even get the older version (March12 version 0.16.4301.233) from the same share.
Cheers!! Enjoy your Note !! Hit thanks if you feel like !!

In play store, installing apps are based on your dpi configuration. If its not compatible to your device due to changes on your dpi, you better restore to your stock/standard dpi settings.

Well either you use the modded market (sometimes breaks gtalk and have to modify GSF) or download apps at stock dpi - 160 or 240 or 320 then revert to the dpi of your choice. Remember to clear the market data first, every-time you change your dpi.

Strange file type from download link
When trying to download version 2, I noticed that the file type doesn't say *.zip
It says something along the lines of
.ZIP-TOKEN_HASH=AAFMPGIPWRO16OFF_VB0CJR0AY7LKNESUHL08TBL5WVD_G&DL=1 File (.zip-token_hash=AAFMPgIpWro16OFF_VB0CJR0aY7LkNeSUHL08TbL5WVd_g&dl=1)

Just to check, I clicked on the download link for version 1 and it provided me with a *.zip file. Just wondering if it's just me or if other people got that too. I debated if I should flash the weird file type but decided not to since I don't like needless troubleshooting.
Anyone else getting incompatibility issues from the market? Like google Maps is saying not compatible. A few others as well. I haven't cleared anything yet. Just curious if others are having the same.

Thanks for pointing that app out. I'll look into it some more when I get the time. Turns out that beast left the dpi at 182 and didn't add the multi dpi play store. Some one likes SLIM way to much. Slim comes with it's own gapps that are modded for lower DPI. So after setting the DPI back to 240 and wiping data from Play and Google services frameworks then rebooting all is well.

It's I didn't do it by app I did it system wide. I used Android tuner to change lcd density back to 240(220 or 230 sometimes work as well). Wiped data from Play and frameworks then rebooted. I was able to DL all the apps I couldn't. Then I just reset the LCD density to 210(preference)

It does? lol When the hell did they add that? I always change it manually on AOKP.
I love dpi at 200 or 210. Also, i already had storage list in my device.
I also am wondering what you did to fix video playback.

If you are on 8.0.0 you can download from play store app called Theme Galaxy and from there you will find section 'fonts'.When you download them you just need to reboot your phone and that's it,good luck.
Download from Play Store app like "Fonts for Samsung" (AFonts).
Install app - download fonts - restart phone - change fonts.
