Hi!
i would like to know if we can recover the GN from an extSDcard, and how we do it(if it does exist)? is it only limited to sumsung Kies?
Thanks
Richie
If you have a Nandroid backup on EXt SD card it can be restored .

Hi,
I installed Chainfire 3D on my rooted XOOM under Jelly Bean, it rebooted then it's stuck on the boot logo !!!
Please what to do ?? I don't want to lose my data !! :crying::crying:
Thanks in advance !
Which rom are you on?
It was a stock JB ROM. Anyway, I re-flashed.
If it happens to me again, is it possible to recover data ?
Y u no do nandroid?
Sent from my Nexus 7 running Froyo.

full complete backup, it backs up your boot.img, recovery.img, data partition, system partition and the cache. So if anything were to go wrong you can restore your nandroid and it's all back to exactly how it was at the point when you made the nandroid backup. Trust me when I say nandroid backups can be a life saver.
And how do u do that ?
Thanks for your answer !

You need to install a custom recovery. I recommend Team Rogue 1.5.0 - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1235170
Even if my XOOM is rooted with the Universal Xoom under ICS ?

If your Xoom is rooted you most likely already have some form of custom recovery installed. Boot into recovery and there will be an option to make a nandroid backup, it'll be fairly obvious
I don't have nandroid in my ClockworkMod Recovery 3.2.0, I know there's something to add, can you give me the link please ?

I'm using the TWRP recovery myself but as I recall in clockwork, it's not called a nandroid specifically but just select the backup option. The backup it creates is a nandroid backup and you'll be good to go.
But I only have 32 mb in my Micro SD, isn't it too small ?

That is too small, try to toggle it so you can backup to internal storage.
I bought a 32 gb Sandisk, put it in the Xoom, 5 minutes after I tried to pull it out and it broke in 2 parts... without forcing too hard on it. A new memory card bought in an airport...
Anyway, thx for the idea !
Hi All,
I own a Samsung Galaxy Tab2 P3100,recently I rooted it and flashed Ubuntu,it was successful but I was unhappy with what Ubuntu offers me right now.
Now,I want to switch back to the backup which I created when I was on stock.
Will this work
Factory reset --> Wipe Dalvik Cache --> Wipe Everything --> Restore to Stock ROM (Backup)
Everywhere I see here, they mention downloading the stock rom and then installing it with odin. Is it needed? Can't we just restore to a backup with wiping everything?
Please advise!!
Thanks in advance!!

Cool,Thanks for the reply.Today I couldn't wait for too long and I installed it through Odin.Next time When I install a custom ROM I would restore with a previous backup rather than downloading a ROM and installing it with Odin.

Hello..
My girfriend has a explorer and she was anoyed by small storage on her phone..I did that link2sd thing but she was not pleased and wanted me to revert phone on original settings..
I went into that recovery mode by pressing pow and vol down and did factory reset..
After that phone did not wanted to boot..it just stayed on that htc logo..
Then I downloaded 1.43.720.2. stock rom transfered it to sd card (which is now on 500 MB (it has 2gb, and I dont know how to revert it) and flashed it via recovery..
Then phone boots up to start screen and then it shut it self up and it goes into boot loop..
Any solutions?
the first rule after rooting..never ever do factory reset
now u can flash any other rom..no problem with that!

FTFY.
Actually never do a factory reset from the bootloader.. i.e. the menu where you have the 3 androids on the skateboards on the bottom of the screen.
@Ante241... as far as your problem goes. I suggest you wipe everything except the external SD card before flashing the ROM.
I.e. in the recovery menu > Mounts and storage > format boot cache data system and then go the main menu of recovery and then do a factory reset , then go to advanced in the main menu and wipe dalvik cache.. after that install .zip from SD card and flash the required ROM of your choice. Remember to backup all your apps before you do this.. using Titanium Backup or similar which saves the backup on the SD card or create a nandroid backup from recovery > backup and restore > backup.
Hi thanks a lot..before I read answers I downloaded official stock rom for her phone and flashed it (ofc I wiped all before)
but I could not find croatian..it was not in europe and east europe flash..
So I downloaded Minimilised ROM and flashed that and now it is ok..
Only problem is that phone wont read SIM card contacts and inport them, but that I will ask on dev thread for that ROM..
Thank you guys.. :good:

Hey guys
I am a newbie here and this is my first post here . I want to backup the efs on my galaxy core before installing the monster rom . I have searched everything on the web but didn't get anything about it.

You can backup EFS by Team Win Recovery Project (twrp)
I tried to install a custom ROM, the Slimsaber-i9100-4.4.4 Kitkat, onto my Samsung Galaxy S2 which was already rooted. I followed a guide and it instructed me to clear the cache, factory reset the phone, and i wiped the Dalvik Cache. I was then instructed to select install from SD card, where i was supposed to have saved the ROM zip and the google apps package into the root of it. Only then did i realise it meant the internal SD card and not the external SD card :crying: Somebody please help me, i've been searching everywhere but i have not been successful. The phone now has no OS and im not sure what to do.
The phone is a Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100
Its previous operating system was 2.3.5
It uses ClockworkMod Recovery 4.0.1.4
Somebody please help me much appreciated.
