I changed the backup location to a newly created folder in my external sd card after I backed up apps and data and it asked if I wanted to move my previous back ups and I said yes. It did nothing but still shows my back up location in my sd card. I deleted all my backup files and retried it. I retried backing up and it still is backing up in my titanium backup folder on my internal memory instead of the backup location I specified in the preferences. Do I have to manually move the files every time I backup?
If its backup to internal memory than leave it there.. It might cant found them if you move them. Im just saying but not sure....

Okay, but what happens if I have a problem and have to wipe the internal memory? Obviously I would have to have it on the external sd, right?
TB pro set backup to ext sd card in TB settings is the norm .
You do not make a folder let TB do that .

I don't understand the first sentence. Do you have to have the PRO version in order for it to backup to the SD card? I tried a couple of times to backup to an SD location that I created, and it still wouldn't backup there. It just kept backing up to the main Titanium Backup folder on the internal memory.

No idea bought Pro version on day one .
all my TB backups are on Ext SD card on Note and SGS3 .
Do you have the genuine TB app From Titanium Track .

hi i new android user and have galaxy sl i9003
so here is problem which i created:
Info: my phone has 2gb internal and 2 gb phone inbuild external memory + 8Gb external memoery card.
steps i have taken:
1. I start using my phone normally then after some days i found a hack to make sd card memory as phone ext. memory so i can installed big files on 8gb card.
2. I have installed so many games and apps on that card. then i also created back up of phone by titanium backup software its around 580 mb.
3. as a new user i just checked that android.secure folder in my inbuilt ext. memory takes about 615mb of 2gb memory (86 users apps). So I delete that folder.
4. Now problem start : my all installed apps and games now not showing up in menu. but apps installed in phone memory is ok.
5. Now my only hope is titanium backup software backup files from i think i can restore my data.
But currently i have seen that titanium backup also not showing my backup data which is created by itself in memory card.
I don't understand whats the problem with titanium backup. I double check backup path in titanium backup for backup data.
Any suggestion highly appreciated. please help.
Solved now
My problem solved by latest version of titanium backup....
So I have Titanium Backup Pro installed. I backed up all user apps and data. I have been experiencing problems with the battery on the Infuse, so I decided to restore to factory settings via the Privacy tab in Settings. Now my TB is gone! WTH? I thought TB backs up to your SD card? My Sone Ericcson X10 does it that way? The infuse backed up to the internal memrory, now all my backup is gone! Anyone else have this issue? And how can I force TB to backup to SD card, not internal memory?
That's all working as intended. The Factory Reset wipes the internal SD Card.

You would have to backup then physically move the backup to the external sd
infuse 4g "a lot a screen real estate"
Or configure TiBu to backup to the external to SD card. Or dropbox.

In the TB preferences you can switch the destination to your physical SD card.

I am on Slip CM9 using sd2ext+ on a 2gb memory card with a 512mb ext partition.
I just got an 8gb kingston card, gonna make a 1gb ext partition on it. Need to know how I can transfer all Apps and data from one card to the other? I DONT HAVE A CARD READER!!! And the backups made via recovery is for some reason not backing up ext, can't I somehow backup whole ROM and ext stuff, then insert 8gb card make the new partition and restore everything? Another option is titanium backup obviously.
Anyway, just give me different options? How to transfer Apps and data from ext, keeping in mind that I dont have a card reader.
Easyest way is Titanium, Flash new rom, then transfer titanium's backup folder and you'll be fine. Another way is some kind of driver for windows which allow's you to read and write ext file systems and just copy paste, but with this I'm pretty sure that most of the app's won't work.

Oh thanks, On Sony Ericsson x10 mp, when I made nandroid backup via cwm, it automatically backed up ext folder as well, I was hoping that might be possible here as well with some recovery. Anyhow, titanium it is then, it just takes a hell lot of time backing up and then restoring.
....
instead of restoring the whole backup u can also restore just apps(u have tis option in recovery).....dat'll do the same...but migt save u a couple of minutes....

Can anyone give me advice on backing up my apps and factory ROM before flashing a new ROM or kernel? I have about 135 apps and when I use Titanium backup (I have a rooted 10.1) with How To Root Galaxy Note 10.1! [Easiest Method][CWM], but when I try to backup, it does it for Internal Memory, which I only have 1.2 Gb left on my Note 10.1, and it runs out of memory.
Any idea how I can store them on the SD card, or my Notebook hard drive?
Thanks
GA
I believe with titanium backup you can go into settings and choose where you want to save stuff - i.e. the external sd card...
As for the factory rom, go to sammobile.com and look for your stock rom... I keep a backup copy on my PC just in case....
Update !!! I backed up my entire system and apps to my 100 Gb Google Drive account, and after all that, I just thought I would try an extra Micro SD card I found lying around that was 4 years old! (SanDisk brand), so I removed the Kingston piece of crap (that came "free" with the Note 10.1 here in Thailand), and voila, it recognizes the card!! It was the crap from Kingston that I warned the shop about when I got the 10.1, but they wouldn't give me any other brand. Been losing pics, etc. for months now, but thought it was just the heat here in Thailand, but never have a problem with SanDisk ..

If you aren't using any memory increasing scripts, you can just swap memory cards, move the "Android", and ".android_secure" folder from the old card to new. I'd recommend that you do a complete copy, not to miss out any other data from other apps.

Take a nandroid backup.. Using the recovery..
In the card you will see a folder named clockworkmod or something... Copy the folder in the new card..
If you had a partition in the previous card then make a partition in the new one..
Place that folder in your new card..
Go to recovery.. Make sure you install the recovery through which you had done the backup..
Go to backup and restore.. select the backup.. done..

I partially disagree with this. Some of the apps use some custom folder, (hidden with "." prefix) in the SDcard, and so, an exact copy of the SD Card's what I recommend.

If you don't jump about installing recoveries, then, you don't have anything to worry about.
Insider details: TWRP's and Clockworkmod's backup/restore mechanisms work in different ways, and they're two "different" recoveries. Hence, they use different folders, "clockworkmod" (or "clockwork") and "TWRP" respectively. The backups are stored in those folders. If you don't flash a new recovery, and use the old recovery itself, you've got nothing to worry about.
p.s. ROMs are installed in internal memory. The SDCard, only some data is stored.

simply to say mate backup your apps and all through titanium backup.. paste in your PC then partition the card.. go to recovery partition the card then flash the ROM.. setup everything after boot. install titanium go to preferences -> batch actions-> restore user apps..
