I have one of those! It sucks monkey balls, but kept Precious safe
Got a different one from an eBay seller after a few weeks - a lot like the Ringke slim - neither cost more than a few €

The Nilkin leather with a flip.
Its a absolute waste of money i would say. Because its no magnetic lock, so it stays wide open all the time, its not nice holding in the hand.
The only good thing about it was that i got a back skin protector. Why i wonder, if i would have the cover on the back, where the hell would the scratch protector be then?:good:

Poetic Bumper Case
Poetic Bumper Case
The gray material separates from the black material in as little as a few days to a month.

Didn't the maker offer replacements for that issue?

And they have redesigned. Been using a poetic bumper for more than 3 weeks and no issues. Just return the defective one for the new revised model.

Yes they did and they shipped it ultra fast - like 3 days from my email to them to the door. So far the replacement is holding up fine. I think there was an initial batch problem - maybe that explained the cheap $6 price back then.

False. This is actually one of the best accessories IMO with GREAT customer service. Free replacements, at no cost to you.

False because your saying the defect is not true? Now that's false.
How can you say "IMO" it's the best accessory but state it is definitely "false" that someone thinking the bumper falling apart, in their opinion, shouldn't make it a bad accessory?
And how could an accessory be "the best" if it's defective so often? You can airmail me all the replacements you want, but I'm sure something that is "best" doesn't break to begin with. That's like saying Ford Pintos were the best cars and even if they were to blow up, Ford providing you with a new one and with GREAT customer service each time means that they are one of the best cars!

Horrible analogy lol. Bumper replacement probably costs them a couple bucks... As compared to a car.
But I see what you mean.
I agree though that it shouldn't be part of the worst accessories. It's a solid case. Yeah they had mishaps on the first or second batch, but seems like they've fixed that now.

The Poetic Bumper Case does not work with the charging orb, so imho it is a bad bumper

I wasn't really concerned with the cost of replacement as much as a defective product, albeit replaced very promptly and effortlessly, should not quality it is as one of "the best". Products that are defective are inherently not great products and certainly should not be "the best".
I agree that it's a solid case, as I use one myself without any issues, but calling someone's opinion "false" even when the product is defective is a little backwards. If Poetic's issues have been fixed, and I'm not sure it has if you take a peak at the main thread for it, I'd say it's a very good product as well.

Thank you, but perhaps a specific post...

I'm sticking to my guns. Read the Amazon reviews. The only 3+-star reviews are by folks who just bought the case. As you read, you'll see that new buyers end up editing their review to reflect the defect. Poetic hasn't redesigned anything--they simply added color options. You'll see plenty of reviews showing that the second and third alleged redesigns fail when given to the same customers.
The supply chain logistics don't work that quickly. They will want to sell off all of the initial product first before changing the process. The only way to fix the problem is to make the bumper from a single material instead of gluing segments together. As you can see, all of the cases are still the same design. You guys are falling for marketing speak--of course they're going to tell you it's been redesigned and ship you the same case again. It buys them another month to sell product before you give up and leave a negative review.
The Poetic Bumper Case does and will fail.

[Q] Hard Case for Desire

I am looking for good hard case, I really like this one for iphone: SwitchEasy CapsuleNeo. But it doesn't matter, I preffer good quality.
I tried leather pouch case and sillicon case and both are looking ugly and cheap after using it while. The sillicon is too thick and after three months is quite stretched.
Thanks for advice
Have you looked at these? http://www.otterbox.com/htc-cases/htc-desire-cases/

I had a PDair case on my last phone.
They are very VERY good and will really keep your phone looking like new.
BUT
Be aware that they do impact signal strength and could make the difference between 2 bars and no bars.

If you fully encase a phone in metal, it's kind of expected that reception will be affected to some degree. I suspect that different phone will also be affected in different ways dependant on where the antenna is located.
As I said, the PDair case IS very very good and I was prepared to accept the trade off on reception (which was only really a deal in poor reception areas) against the ultimate protection for my phone. When I eventually sold the phone on eBay, the buyer did not believe this had been my work phone for the last year plus as it was in such good condition.
My experience was however in an area of marginal signal, taking the phone out of the metal case resulted in an extra bar or 2. I do not believe this to be a faulty case, just physics

Alot like the way the Htc Legend has been having poor reception due to it been made from aluminium.
I had a 2 part case and broke it due to having to take the battery or sd card out frequently with flashing roms daily. What ive got now is a Casemate Barely There and it does its job brilliantly.

It just arrived, and it is perfect! The screen protector had gone on flawlessly, and is much smoother than my last one, giving the feel and slip of a bare glass screen. The case itself is very well made, and although it adds some minor bulk to the phone,i think it looks cool. All cutouts line up perfectly, and it feels very good to hold.
Well worth the money if you don't mind the look it gives the phone.

EDIT: DO NOT ORDER THESE CASES if you want the official one. They are NOT the official cases, even though the company claims they are.

Not too sure whats with the bad reviews of this. I've got this case and it's pretty good. No complaints about it what so ever. OK at first was a little stiff to get in and out but after a few days of phone coming in and out it does loosen it self a bit.
I got also the DHD pouch, after 4 months i still like it. and my phone fits perfectly.

Yes they do. I'm sure it's fake, as I previously ordered a case directly from HTC, and I compared it to this one.
The material is different, size is different (my device simply falls out of the fake one, whereas with the original it was kept inside). The general feel of it just says "fake" all over it.
I've taken a picture of the cases side-by-side. They don't look too much different in the picture, apart from the size, but you can really tell when holding them. The real one is on the left (looks a bit tatty as it got damaged slightly), fake on the right:

Hi, thanks for the input.
Does the real one feel like real leather?
Mine does look like the one on the left. The reason i thought it was fake was that i'm fairly sure that it's made of plastic, both from its feel and especially from looking at its edges, which merge into the case's main body and seem to be just be plastic that hasn't been stamped with the leather print..

Yeah it does. I got a second opinion from my mum, she agrees with me - although she did say that if it is, then it's not very high quality. Bonded leather?
Mine does look like yours yes. The edges of the case are plastic though I think, to make it durable.
I bought one of these and strangely it is not the same as the ones pictured. It doesn't have the cut away on the bottom and feels too large for the phone (if that s possible?). There is no way it is real leather either. Still for 4 quid it does its job quite well - no complaints really but the cheapness does show.

Mercury is a Korean brand, and it is "产地:韩国,MADE IN KOREA". Of course, this being taobao, it could also end up being an imitation.

I know right! I'm using a similar case for my tablet, and I take it out whenever I'm at home. For the Nexus 4 though, that could be a very dangerous thing to do... Then again, with the current case I'm using, the bulk makes it difficult to have a one-hand operation anyway.
Ordered this case on Monday from ebay, just waiting for it to arrive from Korea to Singapore. Ordered Lime green/Navy blue and Mint/Navy blue. Will post again once I receive it.
This case is pretty good. The tpu inside is a tight fit and the speaker, cut outs are ample and precise. The colours are pretty funky too. This is the mint/navy blue version. Just received it today

Liking it so far. I think it's worth getting as it can protect the front screen although the power buttons are little tough to reach but it's possible to get used to. Using proximity screen off so that's not really an issue for me
Realize this thread is a little old but I just received mine today and am pleasantly surprised. I have tried a couple of flip cases for my Nexus 4 (Poetic, PDair) and have been disappointed. This one is nicely made, feels good, and has a nice magnetic clasp. I especially like the fact that, if you choose to put credit cards in it, the edges of the embedded TPU case prevent the cover from coming in contact with the screen.
It only failed one requirement I had for such a case... and that is easy removal. Since the back of the TPU case is covered with the hard wallet material, it makes it a bit tougher to get the Nexus out. But considering I have yet to be pleased with any of the other flip cases this is now no longer one of my requirements. A steal for under 10 bucks!

I'm located near Shenzhen China and have been to the stores, which are actually entire buildings, where they manufacture and sell these cases.
These cases are essentially replicas, but they definitely do a good job of copying the real mercury cases, down to the very minute details. Some stores have better replicas than others, for example these Fancy Diary cases may have the threading skipped on the edges, fraying, or discoloration. Here at ground zero, you can pick these cases up in bulk for $15 - $20 RMB which is slightly over $2 USD on average.
Not saying these cases aren't worth it, but just thought it would be interesting to let you know where these cases came from. Being that the price was so cheap, I definitely picked up a few cases myself for friends and family without even thinking twice.
Not being able to decide, which from the two should I pick. Any suggestion?
Tell me which one would YOU pick for yourself and why?

The top one cause I don't like the green in the bottom one. Not a big fan of bright neon colors. The top one looks classy and the bottom looks like a toy IMHO.

Hmm
Just bought one myself. It is very nice. I wish there was a tab or something to grab to open though.
Sent from my SM-T700 using XDA Free mobile app
Nice review. To condense it:
$$$
!!!
Early impressions were that people didn't like the snap method of affixing the case but I didn't have any issue with it and I like it.
My major criticism is with the edges of the case which have a raw, unfinished feel to them. If the cases were leather I would expect those edges to soften up with time but with this poly material, I don't know.
A major plus is that the cover doesn't add much bulk.
I had a difficult time finding a cover in my city. The one (the only one) a local Best Buy was carrying wasn't even in the Samsung section. The Samsung employees couldn't find it. I found it -- It was laying flat on a generic shelf labeled "tablet essentials".
Go figure.
I'm waiting on mine from Samsung. com. Is it heavy? Thanks.

No quite light and folds behind quite flat when needed.
Case looks beautiful but I can't get the buttons to hold it up. What am I doing wrong?
Edit -- nvm I just had to push them harder!!! Works great.
Are you guys talking about this one?

Yes, well worth $40 in my opinion. Actually I was happy when I thought it cost me $70.

Here in Denmark, it was shipped for free if you placed an preorder before the 3rd of July . I agree, it's definitely a quality cover.
Love the bronze of the tablet. But the book cover bronze is a bit gaudy.

Just picked it up 2 days ago when it when on sale at Best Buy. I think Samsung finally got it right with this case!!!
My accessories came today including this case and I'll be stalling it tonight after I put on my screen protectors. I love the size and texture of the case, the closure is very strong. It's definitely worth getting over the 3rd party cases.

What are your thoughts for everyday use guys? Has functionality and usability been compromised with design? I'm checking the reviews and I'm worried the flap at the back can get annoying because it does not hold unto place unless you set the magnets in.
What about long term use and wear?

Not sure what you're asking about magnets. The magnets are strong and once you get used to the folding schemes it easy to switch.
As far as long term wear my only concern is with the snaps. Only time will tell. This is by far the nicest case Samsung has ever made. I have their case for the note 8 and the note 2, never used either one for long. I don't think I'll even look at other cases for this, unless I want one with keyboard.

I was pertaining to the other half of the rear flap that does not attach it's to the rear of the tablet. Doesn't it flop around when holding with one hand since it doesn't have any magnets? I e been looking at reviews of this case (not that much) and everyone is saying it's a really nice cade, pro ably the first case made by Samsung with that high praise. I usually just buy the generic ones from Amazon that have screen on and off function for 8 dollars lol

No. When folding the cover back you simply fold the flap underneath leaving the camera exposed and it doesn't flop around. Love it.

dbrand taking preorders!!!

Finally, dbrand (our most beloved robots) are taking preorders for the grip case for the Note 9! I have estimated shipping date of February, I am soooooo excited!! I had a grip case for my note 8 and was the best case ever, took quite alot of abuse and worked like a champ. Can't wait for this one to arrive .
Nice, does this case have a back on it or is it just a bumper like the Note 8 one?

It looks like a thin TPU case, if I recall correctly it used to not have a back like you say so you can still use your skin of choice and was moreso like a bumper but a thick bumper with some snazzy D30 rubber on the corners for drops. I don't see D30 mentioned anywhere on the website, did they scrap it all together? IMO this new case looks kinda cheap...

Oh man.. if only they could do this. I've literally found nobody else besides RhinoShield that does a bumper-only case for the Note 9. I bought that case TWICE and sent it back twice after giving it a second chance. Their buttons on their cases are AWFUL. So hard to register a click. And they are barely raised.
Which makes this Dbrand case a bit worrisome to me. They look flush with the sides of the case. I wonder how "clicky" they are. Spigen has the best buttons, IMO.
If anyone finds any indication that Drband will give us this case as a bumper-only option, please let us know. Thanks!

Just went and looked at it. Interesting, think I'll order one.
Still not sure if this is just a bumper or a complete case with different stick on backs?
Anyone know?

Kinda hard to tell from the photo but if it's just a bumper I will have a small crisis from the excitement.

Just emailed them and will see what they say.
Just heard back from Dbrand and this is a full case and not just a bumper.

I'm gonna wait until this is out of pre-order stage because I'm a bit anal and I need to know exactly when my purchases will ship. But one thing I noticed that I'm kinda disappointed about is that the curved design of the front of the case doesn't look the same as what is promoted. Is that curved thing only for other cases and not for our Note 9 or are the photos just not clear enough?
Also, with the way the back of the case is designed, does it mean we can swap out skins at will or is the skin we choose at checkout permanently attached to the back of the case?
The note 9 has been out 5-6 months now and they are this late getting this case to market, What Gives?
Just ordered one with one extra back.

Color sticker for the back.
This is what I ordered.
Wonder if the different color backs are reusable?

I emailed Dbrand about this but haven't heard back yet. Has anyone got any idea about this? Is our Note 9 case going to have the curved design like in the image above?
The Note 10 will be out before this case.
Anyone place an order for this case yet? Dbrand website still shows "February" shipping but no specific date. If anyone here has placed an order do you have some shipping info? How long before you get it? Any reviews online on this case yet?

I placed an order a couple of weeks ago and still have no shipping or tracking information. Let me go login to their site and see if there are any updates.
Just checked my order and it only says Pre-Order, ships February, nothing new.

Just got an email from them. They said orders will ship "Mid-February". These people really need to stop promoting products they cannot ship within a week or two. When did they start promoting this new Grip case? Several weeks ago? And they're still not available. Are the pre orders their desperate attempt to pay bills? And Dbrand isn't the only one guilty of doing this.
No further images on this case to help us get a better idea of what it will look like, no further videos, hell, they haven't even sent out any Grip cases to influences so we can see some YouTube reviews on it. What gives?
