These 2 cards are both class 10, but Extreme Pro marks as Up to 95MB/s read and 90MB/s write speeds, it's damn fast lol......
any big difference? Extreme Pro has only 16GB, no 32 GB
You should consider that desire can not be capable to write/read with these speeds...

So I have a class 2 8gb sd card (sandisk) that I bought about a year ago. A similar one came with my G2 recently and I decided to test the speeds to use the faster one. The one I purchased a year ago, it turns out, reads at 10 MB/s and writes at 5.5 MB/s. I confirmed it with several trials. I thought that SD classes indicated speed... and that a class 2 = 2mb/s r/w, class 4 = 4, etc. This seems very fast, especially considering the other class 2 8gb that came with the g2 runs at about half the speed.
How come they vary so much? Is this card that I have faster than a class 6?
You are right when you say a class 2 should have 2 mb/s and a class 4 should have 4mb/s, but there is something you are forgetting: the class is the minimum write speed. I have a samsung class 6, which has a minimum 6 mb/s write speed, but it actually writes at 9.5 mb/s and reads at 17 mb/s. A card is considered to be a class 2 if during testing it can consistently score 2 mb/s.
Sandisk cards are/were known for being faster than their ratings.
I just bought a sandisk 16gb class 2 on amazon. I ran a speedtest and was consistently getting class 4 speeds and and made it up to class 6. I'm glad I didn't pay extra for that class 4.

I've ever had a bad experience with SanDisk MicroSD cards.
SanDisk MicroSD Cards (Class2):
Owned: 10 (Various sizes, 256MB - 2x512MB - 6x1GB - 1x8GB)
Broken: 10 (After less than a year, on Motorola V3x, Nokia E66 and HTC HD2)
- Speed: Avg. 6MB/s (HTC HD2) - Avg. 1MB/s (Nokia E66) - Avg. 4MB/s (Moto V3x)
OEM/unknown MicroSD Cards (Class2):
Owned: 3 (2x1GB - 4GB)
Broken: 0 (bought more than a year ago)
- Speed: Avg. 6MB/s (HTC HD2) - Avg. 1MB/s (Nokia E66) - Avg. 5MB/s (Moto V3x)
Kingston MicroSD Cards (Class4):
Owned: 2 (2GB - 4GB)
Broken: 0
- Speed: Avg. 12MB/s (HTC HD2) - Avg. 5-6MB/s (Moto V3x)
A-Data MicroSD Cards (Class6 -- 8GB):
Owned: 2
Broken: 0
- Speed: Avg. 15MB/s (HTC HD2) - Avg. 18MB/s (Moto Milestone)
So I don't think that Sandisk MicroSDs are so much good.
Anyway, I'm planning to buy a 16GB MicroSD card for my Desire Z.. and surely it'll be an AData Class6 card...
Hi,
currently I'm having an 8 GB microSDHC Class 4 in my Sensation, would there be any noticable performance improvement if I'd get myself a new class 10 (or anything else better than 4) card? I don't really know if my 4 MB/s writing speed and ~20 MB/s reading speed (some sd-tools said) are slowing down my system or not? Where exactly would the "positive" effects be?
Thanks for your help.
If you are rooted, get a higher capacity card like 32GB class 4 or 6 and install sd booster from the market. If you want to get class 10 32GB card, then try PNY 32GB class 10 from newegg. Some people say that PNY is not good but if you look at the reviews it is pretty good. Using sd tools from the market, it has about the same write/read speed as lexar class 10 but cost much less.
hallo my friends
i got new gx s4
and now i want to get
memory card... i did go with the safe choice of > ultra sandisk 32gb class 10 speed in 30$ from ebay
but i saw some cards in 64gb class 10 in 30$ like this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/64GB-MicroS...gital_Camera_Memory_Cards&hash=item58a0864d8a
and this one 64g class 10 for 10$
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-64gb-mi...gital_Camera_Memory_Cards&hash=item232baeadc9
dos its realy metter sandisk and speeds ?? what do u say better to take ?
Well 10bucks for a 64GB card? Hmm bit weird price to me..
The higher the class the better the card as they say.
Just go to a store and ask specific details about it The sellers will give a bit more information..
congratz with your S4
Yes, the higher class is faster, but can our phones utilize faster cards, or Class 6 or 4 is fast enough?
here is the speeds -
Class Minimum performance
Class 2 2 MB/sec
Class 4 4 MB/sec
Class 6 6 MB/sec
Class 10 10 MB/sec
I have 16 gbs class 6 and works fine
I have 8GB class 10 and its working great but class 6 its enough i think
Hi, does anyone have one of these?
http://www.sandisk.sg/products/memory-cards/microsd/extremepro-uhs-i/?capacity=16GB
It offers up to 95 MB/s (633X) read speed; write speed up to 90 MB/s (600X) which is about twice the speed of the normal one. And also twice the price
If anyone has this can you do some speed tests and post here?
Thanks.
I'd love an SDXC 64gb version but it's probably cost as much as a 120 gb SSD
AFAIK, our phones don't support UHS-1 format. So I believe it's capped at class 10 for us. I don't think these will benefit us very much.
Micro SD
I dong think the extreme sandisk worth it. Besides it only support 16 gb no more than that. I suggest take the Sandisk Ultra microsdxc or micor sdhc. Its working and fast but worth it
Guys check this strontium 32gb UHS-1 card http://youtu.be/PuHfmuJ8pf0... should I go for it.
says to be faster than sandisk ultra and samsung pro series microsd cards, with life time warranty....
please suggest....
today I have reached the micro SD 32gb samsung...48 mb /s
Personally, I find the Sandisk Ultra to be the best cost versus speed with storage in mind. I've had the 64GB since I bought my GS3 last year and it has worked great with holding nandroid backups and anything else that is bulky.

I have done some reading :cyclops: & find out their are user which are having problem with sandisk ultra series cards, and i am glad that you guys don't have any those kind of issue.
but i think "Strontium 32GB UHS-1 400X" will be better choice for me. this card is showing some promising results in this video review http://youtu.be/PuHfmuJ8pf0 they compared it with sandisk ultra and samsung pro series. and also here they giving away 4gb pen derive:victory:
Ive got the Galaxy S4 I337 16GB version running San Disk Ultra 64GB SDXC just fine no complaints!
wondering the same thing

I get something larger. It supports up to 1tb.
I'm using a 512gb and upgrading to a 1 tb soon.
Make sure it's V30 rated and use a well know name brand.

My bad... sorry.
You can a V30 rated 64gb card for around $15 now I think. Get a Sandisk Extreme, known for speed and have a good reliability record.
