AW: [A510][ROM][4.2.1] AOKP JB-MR1 Build 3 .... 4.2.2 soon
Yep, works great on my a510.
Have not noticed screen flickering since install
Sound works,GPS also.
Thanks for this great work
If gaps download will not work,Google for it, there are other sources
Alwin
I already have it on my device. Its pretty good but there are some bugs. How would I report those?
I have this ROM also installed. It's really nice, has a few bugs but this doesnt matter because they are not so problematic.
Nice smooth rom, working great with the included nova lauchner, but flickering is annoying!
As sound quality and loudness seem to be very poor, has anyone tried using DSP manager ? On my Smartphone it's doing wonders to the sound. Or is it a general 4.2 problem that can't be fixed anyway?
No, its just that Dolby is missing and so the sound is not as good.

I did not, but perhaps you can try Noozxoide EIZO-rewire
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.noozxoidelabs.eizo.rewirepro
some people are talking about some bugs?
what bugs there are?
I am thinking of installing this rom because i can't download
NoThrills A510 WorldWide optimized Stock ROM
thx
davjan
By using EIZO (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31619899&postcount=2) I got it a bit louder and clearer, should work for the moment. But after I used this Rom a lot, the screen flickering starts to be extremely annoying. However, the Rom is very fast and good for daily usage.
help
I installed this ROM, it does sthg to your tablet...changes directories, moves files.......how can one do all that? I went back to No thrills optimized ROM, but the changes remained.

It's because of the Multiuser feature. Every user has to have own directories in 4.2.

JB-MR1 Build 4 - New release is out... now 4.2.2
Enjoy..
Thanks to AOKP-Team!
Great Rom, only 140mb small with a lot of possibilities to modify.
I am so glad there is at least one good team who is providing actual Roms for the A510.
... for the next release I would wish Dolby Sound

There are some other package than "Dolby" to emphasize the "flat" original sound.... i suppose that Acer payed to have the "Dolby" thing in their ROM... it is certainly not legal to put it on an AOKP release... reason i suppose that it will never come (at least on XDA)
As i said previously there are :
- Noozxoide EIZO-rewire
- Beats (do not like this one a lot but perhaps it can fit your needs)
- I've seen one more but can't remember the name actually...
Thank you for the update, its working great.

Every case is different depending on which application you've already used and blablabla...
- Backup your important datas, settings (Titanium, Carbon... etc)
- Install the Build 4 on top of the 3
- If things get wrong, wipe and install Build 4 than restore your settings, as always do not restore system settings.. well you can but there is always a risk of disfunction after that.
=> Your choice ..

(just to keep my releases in sync between g2x/vibrant)
8/16
-added external gps functionality (from gerrit, thanks xoror)
-CM sync
-lots of honeycomb fixes
--- now has custom app launchers, tap outside little circle and inside big circle to activate, lock will disappear. Must set apps you want to launch in Tweaks first.
-including gapps again
August 4
* removed gapps from build, flash separately :)
* added in a possible fix for battery FC (let me know)
August 03
* as always, latest CM changes as of right before the build
* changed to new versioning system to make it easier for me to keep all releases more or less the same between devices (using dates) to keep my sanity
* adding gapps in automagically from now on!
* new option to set the clock to the center
* MIUI battery code enhancements
* Tweaks minor bug fixes
* Honeycomb lockscreen! Access from CyanogenMod settings > Lockscreen > Style Options > Lockscreen Style (did this to be consistent with other CM lockscreen settings)
*** taking suggestions on how to improve this. I may add custom app launchers to each quadrant, but still listening to what you guys have to say. Do you even like it? Etc.
build 14 - 7/29
* MIUI battery bar (selectable from Extra Tweaks -> Battery Options) - thanks sbrissen!
* more LED notification stability code
build 13 - 7/27
* fixed recovery not rebooting into recovery
* fixed colors not changing on "auto" settings
build 12 - 7/26
* upgraded to Android 2.3.5 via CM (includes latest nightly changes)
* included Launcher Pro & Bloater
* re-structured a lot of my backend coding for my tweaks (app & system) to allow for easy future expansion
** while I recoded it, I included the CM7-style color picker some of you were asking for for my tweaks (custom hex codes)
** You won't see much change, but just know it took forever :)
* added LED toggle in Extra Tweaks
future plans: Trigger theme, custom wallpapers, more customizations. In time.
build 11 - 7/14
-fixed a bug in tweaks where it wouldn't save your custom settings
-updated changes from newest CM source
-that's it for now! maybe more later :D
build 10 - 7/7
-fixed power off bug (it actual powers off now!)
-fixed all funky reboot behaviors
-re-added custom battery mod settings in tweaks
--can toggle on/off every element & customize it, just play with it
-as always, synced to newest cm changes
note: anything you see greyed out in the CM Settings that you think shouldn't be, it likely means I've replaced those functions and the settings are in the Extra Tweaks setting. I did this in order to avoid any conflicts with the CM code :). It wil never be less functionality either, only more.
build 9 - 7/6
-based off CM7 now for more features and awesomeness!
-no theming or aesthetical change (maybe some custom wallpapers later, but I'm not a themer)
-newest CM changes
---touch to focus in camera, screenshot from power menu
-custom hard reboot option added to reboot menu that will fix data

-fixed small battery display bug where it would reappear after hiding
-added widget grouping when selecting them on your homescreen
build 6 - 7/2

--battery icon hides instantly now
--signal icon changes instantly between H/4G
--added ability to show signal strength in dbm in statusbar
--added ability to automatically color dbm based on what the statusbar would be (0, 1, 2, 3, 4)
--can set color to static
--i think that's it for the tweaks
System changes:
--faux's latest framework fixes (check github histories)

--i'm sure i missed a couple of other minor things here
build 5 - 7/1
-hid tweaks in app drawer
-added ability to toggle between H icon and 4G icon in tweaks settings
---BUG! it will do a soft reboot on you when you switch it. it's also likely that you may have to do a hard reboot after that to get data back. this will be fixed in the next release :)
-upgraded faux's kernel to 0.2.7 & other fixes (check github histories for extended info if you like)
-decreased padding on statusbar elements so it looks less wonky
-I think that's it, spent a couple hours working on getting github worked out properly last night!
build 4 - 6/30
-initial public release
FAQ
Q: Can I flash an upgrade without wiping data?
A: Sometimes it's okay to do so, but other times it will conflict with the new updates. Best bet is to do a CWM backup, and a Titanium backup before you try anything if you don't know what you're doing. If you run into any issues or funny behavior, just do a data wipe.
Q: Sometimes my GAPPS are missing, why?
A: Everytime you flash the ROM or an upgrade to it, you MUST flash the Gapps package. It takes an extra 3 seconds, don't complain! I try and keep all upgrades on ROM Manager, you can have it install the Gapps for you right after it installs the ROM.
Q: Ok, but how do I avoid having to sign into Google?
A: When you flash an upgrade, be sure to flash the gapps while you're still in recovery before rebooting. That way you will still be signed in. So, flash the ROM, then flash gapps without rebooting.

This Vanilla Root Box built from source for our VilleC2

Vanilla RootBox is built straight from RootBox sources and always carries a very light installation with no extra/useless apps. This means, you can enjoy a pure Android experience combined with AOKP/CM features and some CM cherry-picks. Keep in mind Jelly Bean is only at the beginning stage of development and there will be minor bugs. Every RootBox releases are stable and always up to the challenge for a daily usage. I personally have a high standard when it comes to releases and this is why this project always meets the expectations of users. If you're wondering how this ROM differs from any other AOKP roms out there, I only have one thing to say: Try it yourself and choose the one that meets your requirements.

May I have your attention here please! Just some news/announcements
There seems to be a bug for some people after installing Mod Pack II X 0.7, which causes Caller ID to not work for some. There is a solution, and all it involves is deleting your contacts. Of course, many of you probably wouldn't want to do that, but you may back them up beforehand (such as with Google Contacts Sync), delete them off your device, then restore them. Sorry for any inconveniences caused, but I don't see what could be causing this bug and the fix is so simple (and debugging in smali is HELL) that I'm not going to look into fixing it. Just take the workaround, which I got from @daver18qc:

MOD PACK II X
As the name implies, Mod Pack II X is a series of mods packaged together for the Samsung Galaxy Ace II X (GT-S7560M). The purpose of the mods is to enhance several aspects of usability (such as performance, visual interface, et cetera) while maintaining a seemingly stock ROM, in terms of stability. There are going to be dozens of incremental updates, that will include new modifications (and or fixes for any mods that may have been done incorrectly). To install any version of the Mod Pack II X, just download the .zip file and install it with your preferred custom recovery. The only requirements are that you be on stock ROM, and that your ROM is deodexed. Below is the information that will change for each update.
Table of Contents:
General info - Post 1
Changelog - Post 2
What's coming in next release - Post 3
Fun facts - Post 4
General info
The most recent version of the Mod Pack II X is..... 0.7 Eta RebirthEaster Bunny
You can download it here. It's based off of the February Canadian firmwares (S7560MVLBNA5).
You can download the February Canada ROM deodexed and debloated, flash-able via custom recovery, right here.
The following mods are included within Mod Pack II X v0.7:
CRT-Off animation w. toggle
AOSP ICS lockscreen w. toggle
Ripple effect lockscreen w. toggle
Flashlight quick toggle in notification bar
Toggles to hide status bar AM/PM or entire clock.

Power control widget
Ability to turn camera shutter on/off
Modified hosts file
Screen stays off after unplugging
4 way reboot menu
AOSP like visuals
Power saving mode and other settings reenabled
Scrolling cache disabled
Modded Messaging app (character limit raised, split-view mode w. toggle, and more miscellaneous mods)
Landscape mode in dialer and in-call interface
Other little things that I can't seem to remember, either because I have memory-issues or because there are just so many things
Better aligned and transitioned AOSP lockscreen clock
Send some screenshots this way please. Some community effort required.
If you notice any bugs, please feel free to report them here. If you'd like to request a mod, post it here and I'll see if I can get it done.
If you don't like Mod Pack II X, and you wish to revert to stock, flash this zip in recovery to remove and replace Mod Pack II X modded files with unmodified ones.

Reimplemented camera shutter w. volume down button
Fun facts and more
Starting at version 0.6, each release will have codename - a letter in the Greek alphabet that corresponds to the release number. Ex. Version 0.6 is called Zeta because Zeta is the 6th letter of the Greek alphabet.
I chose the Greek alphabet for codenaming because I love Greek yogurt.
Mod Pack II X was a spontaneous idea. I never would've imagined myself doing all sorts of mods last year. It was supposed to be a one time thing, but it was popular, so I continued modding and releasing Mod Packs.
I'm a 12 year old. Seriously. I've found an online home away from home (even though I mostly use the internet while home) called XDA. I'm really grateful I turned out the way I am, because I love helping people in anyway I can.
Just one suggestion, add your phone model to thread's title. So newbies won't flash this and blame you.

Please don't post here if you're going to say negative things about the phone when you probably don't even have it. And actually, the phone is pretty decent. Yes, the Ace 2 may be better (we have an enhanced Adreno 200 as our GPU) but I would have bought the Ace 2 if it were available in Canada. With overclock and numerous mods applied, I was able to get a better benchmark than the Galaxy S. Considering my phone isn't the best phone, I think it's still pretty good. Once us owners of the Ace II X start building some ROMs (I'm actually working on AOSP ICS), performance issues will be swept away. It's all caused by Touchwiz. If you're interested in researching our device a bit more, you can look for Galaxy S Duos specs because it is identical to my Ace II X other than the dual sim comparability.

Are you running a deodexed ROM? What firmware build version are you running? I'm sure that the cause of your FC is on your fault. I have tested v0.6 numerous times.

Hi there. I have a Galaxy Trend s7560 and i found this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2343108. Do you think it will brick my device if i flash it? Everywhere i look, i see the S7562 and S7560 are the same, the only difference being the dual-sim property. Thanks in advance.

First of all, why are you posting this here? This thread is for MOD PACK II X ONLY. Please refrain from posting unrelated comments here in the future. Instead, post in the regular Ace II X discussion thread here. It certainly wouldn't (or shouldn't) brick your device, but RIL may not work properly since that ROM is designed for the dual sim counterpart of our models. You'd also probably get some annoying messages popping up about the second sim card not being detected (because there is no second sim slot on the Trend/Ace II X). If you're up to it, you could ask Mohitash to help you port the ROM for your specific device (based off of Trend firmware, and thus based off of "single sim" files).

General Info & Introduction
Android Open Source Project: Or in short AOSP. Android is an open-source software stack created for mobile phones and other devices. The Android Open Source Project (AOSP), led by Google, is tasked with the maintenance and further development of Android. Many device manufacturers have brought to market devices running Android, and they are readibly available around the world.
Rooting: Android rooting is the process of allowing users of smartphones, tablets, and other devices running the Android mobile operating system to attain privileged control (known as "root access") within Android's subsystem. Rooting is often performed with the goal of overcoming limitations that carriers and hardware manufacturers put on some devices, resulting in the ability to alter or replace system applications and settings, run specialized apps that require administrator-level permissions, or perform other operations that are otherwise inaccessible to a normal Android user.

New ROM! Great! :good:
Need 2 check these common CM & Butter problems
1) old CM bug in network scanning not showing available networks (currently pure aosp from clie is not scanning right as well)
2) loud buzz sound (robotic) instead of normal tone on first dial (very often, quite annoying)
3) rare screen flickering
4) very often battery app doesn't reset counter after charging and continue to calculate and show stuff like "3 days 11 hours... on battery" (maybe an issue with dock, since I use it daily for overnight charging)
5) video recording sound glitch
6) DSP manager gets killed/deactivated after some time during playback (doesn't happen with ViPER4Android (V4A) Audio Effects though)
7) mms cannot be received issue
8) bug with no audio in hangouts (hangouts issue?)
Nice! Another awesome 4.2.2 ROM!
Just a few questions:
1. This ROM doesn't have ION implemented in it's kernel, does it?
2. What is hot-reboot?
Sent from my Ouya
Downloading,report later. Thanks
As I stated on your Facebook wall, awesome job with this rom, I was one of the first to try it before it was posted and I was impressed. Very kinky animals too lol

Hot Reboot is similar to the function of HTC Sense "Quick Reboot", where it reboots the shell only.

I'll just let you know what's specfic to this ROM and what's not (happens on all ROMs running JB).
1. Possible RIL lib(.so) bug, effects all JB ROMs
2. ROM bug, specific to this ROM. (Never had it on any JB ROMs I've tried, and I've tried most of them)
3. Kernel/JB bug. Not ROM based (per se).
4. Needs to charge to 100%/99% before it resets. Occurs in most AOSP based JB ROMs including mine
5. ROM bug, specific to this ROM.
6. I know the bug, need some time to fix it myself. Service is killed after a while. General JB bug with all or most low memory devices using DSP in the ROMs.
7. ROM bug specific to this ROM.
8. ROM bug, can be fixed by using Team-Hydra's audio-caf tree.
Hopefully this helps the devs out a little.

If it had ION then the camera wouldn't work. A hot-reboot just restarts the shell instead of the whole phone.

There's a Known Bugs section of the OP that doesn't say the camera is broken. Also, one of the features is "Custom Camera features". The device tree on ThinkingBridge's GitHub doesn't have ION enabled.

Yes, which means it doesn't have ION because if it had ION then the camera would not work (unless they had a 3.4 kernel, which they do not). That means the ROM has PMEM and has the camera working (which is what I originally said ).
Vanir is now in Beta for the TF700. We could use some feedback on how it is doing. Currently, we forked CM's device tree + kernel. (this will change based upon feedback)
Currently all TF700 builds can be found in the nightly section for both Vanir and Commotio

A small (optical) thing. The on/off buttons are not visible in the settings.
But only in landscape... Screenshots attached
Once again, many thanks. Looking forward .... :highfive:
And the Updater in the QS -> jumps to the status bar, but I think you know this.
edit: dual panel mode is ok ...
Will continue testing tomorrow.....

I am trying to fix this now,... been a long time since I touched this part of the theme, so it is slow tracking it down,.. I need to curbside a themer
Compiled with Grimlock's for tonight. Seems smooth so far.
Using my own kernel based upon Grimlocks
Raises quadrant 1500
raised antutu score 1000
Nebulous scores aside it is very much noticeably faster
Nice & thank you for bringing us a new ROM. Do you support f2fs in the kernel? I've flashed mine with it an it makes this thing smooth, just wondering if I have to revert back to try vanir.
Thanks again
###Edit####
Looks like next grimlock kernel version will support f2fs right away. I may have to wait a day or 2 to see how this progresses. Thanks again

I am working on F2F,.. we are trying to do it properly the first time. Over the next week I would not be surprised to see test versions coming out.
Sweet! Thanks and I look forward to seeing the builds.

Dock SDcard is not read.
It's detected when plug or unplug but not seen by any app.
Edit : Dock SDcard OK after new install.
Great rom ! Thx for it.

Glad it's working
Works for me
Hey @DHO I'm going to finally unlock my bootloader for your ROM as it's probably the best on the tf700. Just wondering if it was compatible with F2FS or whether you plan to integrate it. Also are there plans for pie?

Vanir + the kernel is fully F2FS compliant, but I have not tried implementing it on tf700... mainly b/c I do not have the time to backup and properly test. If you want to guinea pig I can whip out a build.
Or users can make a few tweaks to enable it (since the system is okay with it)

Sure, I'll guinea pig it . I don't want to use the other switch method in the forum method because I want to keep the stock commotio kernel because it's probably the best on the tf700.

I saw some commits in the changelog? Does it have F2FS-all already built in now?

Thanks for the heads up take all the time you need. So just to confirm, there's no way of keeping the commotio kernel whilst f2fs?
What's the most recent stable version?
